She was of the village tribe Matatu, who worshipped the sea, the land and the fire; this beset the Matatu people from the other tribes, as they worshipped no more than two of the elements, and they scorned the Matatu tribe. Then one day a strange but acclaimed blessing occurred within the Matatu tribe - a girl was born with golden eyes and a pair of nymph's ears. The village's prophet proclaimed that she would suffer to see the loss of a loved one who would sacrifice theirself, and so she was named Cami. Perhaps it was because the Matatu tribe believed that her golden eyes brought luck that she was not just the only girl allowed to train as a Tribal Warrior, but she was trained by the best. Her hair was cut and what was left was spiked and dyed green; she was given the make-up and earrings of a chieftain's daughter; her sandals and tribal clothing were specially designed for her alone, of gold and of strong plants.
