and I will help you on your way to becoming the ultimate pokemon master!
You will be able to catch, train, and maybe battle with your pokemon (if Waffle isn't too lazy. xD orz).
Feel free to pm/post your questions and don't hesitate to stop by my lab for answers! I wish you luck!

I am the head bitch. Don't ever forget it. ;D

✖ Basically;

For now, this will be all about catching and training pokemon. I'm still a bit undecisive on where I want to go with this. Professor Waffu is a lazy bitch. :B

To become a pokemon trainer, first PM ME saying:

PROFESSOR! I WANT TO BECOME A POKEMON MASTER!

And I will respond in acceptance.

This is so I can document everything C:

✖ Gameplay;

I will post a picture of a pokemon with its capture number.
The capture number is the specific number that allows it to be caught when rolled on the dice.

You must get the number in order to get the pokemon!

Here is a simulation of what will happen:

I will post a pokemon:

A level 11 Koffing appears!
It seems like the number 9 will catch it!
Roll a 15-sided dice!
[dice]15[/dice]

All you have to do is quote it, and see where the number lands!

A level 11 Koffing appears!
It seems like the number 9 will catch it!
Roll a 15-sided dice!
The 15-sided dice lands on 11

^ Obviously this person did not catch the Koffing.

Please respect Menewshan rules and post to avoid spam. ;D

Don't be a poor sport if you don't get a pokemon. There WILL BE many opportunities for you to catch one.

✖ Leveling up;

Obviously, you can't level up by battling.
That's what rare candies are for!

There are two ways to get rare candy:

1. The first poster on every page that is a multiple of five (5, 10, 15) will receive 3 rare candies.

2. I will be posting rare candies randomly, and the first person to quote it will receive them, like so:

Three rare candies are lying on the floor! Who will get them?

✖ Trading pokemon;

You want their pokemon? They want yours? Then trade~!
Only one pokemon can be involved in a trade at a time from your side.
No Charizard for a hundred pikachus or anything like that.

To trade, both trainers must pm me the following.

Professor! [other trainer] and I would like to trade his/her [their pokemon] for my [your pokemon]

✖ Leveling pokemon;

A rare candy levels up your pokemon by one level.
Like the games, pokemon will only evolve after reaching a certain level.

To level up your pokemon, PM ME the following:

Professor! Please level up my [your desired pokemon] by [level amount]!

If you have enough rare candies, I will reply:

[Your pokemon] has leveled up by [level amount]! It is now [whatever level it is]!

If you do not have enough rare candies, I will reply:

Your pokemon was unable to level up. You do not have enough rare candies

Since I will be documenting everything, feel free to ask me how many rare candies you have~

✖ Evolving;

You can evolve your pokemon at any time!
However, you must follow the correct procedures!

To evolve pokemon, PM ME the following:

Professor! Please [give/level up] my [your pokemon][whatever it needs] to evovle into a [its new evolved form]!

For example:

Professor! Please give my Sneasel a Razor Claw to evolve into a Weavile!

or

Professor! Please level up my Pichu's happiness level so it evolves into a Pikachu!

or

Professor! Please level up my Eevee's happiness level in the morning so it evolves in to an Espeon!

If you wish to evolve multiple pokemon, USE MULTIPLE FORMS BUT SEND IT ALL IN ONE PM!

I AM NOT DOING POKEMON THAT REQUIRE TRADING TO EVOLVE.

Wrong forms filled out, and your pokemon will not evolve.

BATTLING.

"To battle is to live." Says Professor Waffle.

Think you know battling? Well, you've never seen Waffle's Pokemon Challenge.
That's right. I'm deviating. 8) Sort of.

Anyways, there are going to be some changes. And additional information.

Each pokemon party will consist of 3 pokemon.
This saves time and effort, mostly for you. And me, to a lesser extent.

Feel free to change your party as much as you like,
only when you're not battling.

Winners, pm me with the battle page. I.e., your blog.
Prizes could be issued.

The person who wins the most battles will be crowned Pokemon Master,
which comes with a plaque and trophy. That I will be drawing later. xD
You also get full bragging rights for a year.

There is no healing during battle! Sucks, right?

Battling happens on YOUR terrain, not mine.
Which means, battling will be conducted all in blogs,
not the main thread. I'd like for it to be possible
to have multiple battles going on, and that just
can't be done in a clean method if we have it in the threads.

If doing it in your blogs will be an issue,
due to personal reasons and whatnot, PM ME,
just saying that you can't conduct a battle
in your blog and we'll work something out.

Let's get to explainin.

Set-up;


Battling consists of attack and health, no?
Well, that's what we'll do.

All of your pokemon are at a certain level.
Their level determines both their stamina and atk.

To determine your pokemon's health points:

Take its level, double it, and roll a dice from 1-whatever# you got.

Let's say I have a level 54 Pikachu.

Double it, I get 108. Then, I roll a dice in this form:

[dice]108[/dice]

Let's say I rolled 84.
That means that my Pikachu's health points is 84.

IF YOU ROLLED A NUMBER LESS THAN 1/3 of whatever your pokemon's level x2 is, re-roll.

For example, with my level 54 Pikachu, I would have rolled a 108-sided die.
1/3 of that 108 is 36. If I had rolled less than 36, I would re-roll.
Re-roll until you get a number than is greater than 1/3 of that value.


Now I roll for Atk. points.

Take its level, and roll a dice from 1-its level.

With my level 54 Pikachu,
I roll a dice like so:

[dice]54[/dice]

The 1/3 Rule also applies to here. 1/3 of 54 is 18.
Less than 18, roll again.

I rolled 30. That means that my Pikachu's ATK. is 30.

HOWEVER, that does NOT mean that my Pikachu will be doing 30 damage each time.

30 is the ATK RANGE.

So whenever I attack, I will roll a 30-sided die.

In battle, continue rolling until a pokemon is defeated.

It's easiest for you to keep a main pokemon blog (see Poppy's or Anna's for example)
to mark down your pokemon's stats.

HOWEVER, ALL ROLLS REGARDING STATS WILL BE CONDUCTED IN THE MAIN POKEMON THREAD ;D

NOTE;

1st form pokemon (eg Charmander) - no bonus.

2nd form pokemon (eg Charmeleon) - add 10 stamina points overall, increase atk range by 3

3rd form pokemon (eg Charizard) - add 15 stamina points overall, increase atk range by 5.

Legendaries - add 15 stamina points overall, increase atk range by 7.

so, if my Charizard had 64 health, and its attack range was 40,
after the bonus, it now has 79 health, and its attack range is 45.

Pokemon Party;

You are only allowed 3 pokemon at a time when battling.
Think of it as power restraint. Like Machoke's belt.
Can't be having a few trainers over-powering others with their legendaries.
Yes, I'm talking about you.

ALSO, there is a One-Legendary-Per-Battle Rule.
When battling, you can only have one legendary in your party.

Of course, you can switch out after battle, but one legendary at a time.

Eg.

Party 1:

Lugia
Pikachu
Zapdos

= NO.

Party 2:

Lugia
Pikachu
Charizard

= OK.


Party switching can only occur AFTER/BEFORE battles. Not during.
Think of it like running to the pokemon center during the battle with the E4.
Not gonna happen. C:

Engaging in Battle;

Consent from BOTH trainers must occur before battling starts.

This could be done in a simple "Hey, wanna battle?"

Both trainers will then play a game of rock paper scissors,
to see who will attack first. The attacker will also be the one
setting up the battle page on his/her blog.

To play rock paper scissors, each of the two trainers will
roll a 3-sided die.

1 = rock
2 = paper
3 = scissors

Like so:

BLAH BLAH! I challenge you!

The 3-sided dice lands on 3

Whatever number appears, correspond it with the rock-paper-scissors
Let's say I won in rock-paper-scissors over the person I challenged.
Then, I make a blog.
It would say something like:

(blog title): Waffle vs. BLAH BLAH

And the first post would just simply be:

Pikachu Level 54

Stamina: 84/84
ATK Range: 30

The 30-sided dice lands on 14

^ This means I am the first attacker.

Then the opponent would post the same thing,
except it would have the stats of his/her pokemon.

BOTH FIRST POSTS OF EACH TRAINER IN THE BLOG SHOULD HAVE THEIR POKEMON PARTY FOR BATTLE.
Keeps things on top.

Choosing Pokemon in Battle;

Gotta make this fair. C:

Number your pokemon in your party from 1-3.
When you roll for rock-paper-scissors,
the winning number that you rolled will be the first pokemon you send out.


Ex.

In 1,2,3 order, I have Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Wartortle.

I roll for rock-paper-scissors, and I win with scissors (3).
Thus, I engage in battle with Wartortle.

ONLY after Wartortle is beaten can I send out another pokemon.

HOWEVER, roll another 3-sided die. If I roll a 3, roll again,
since Wartortle is out.

I roll a 1. Thus, I send Pikachu into battle.

Leveling Up;

If your pokemon does ever level up again, you'll have to reroll for new stats.

However, your new stats cannot be lower than your old stats upon rolling.

Say I had a Pikachu.

Level 30
Stamina; 40
Atk Range; 20

I level it up to 40.

Now, I roll for stamina, 80-sided die

I roll 34. 34 is less than 40, its old health,
so I roll again, and get 41. 41 > 40, so it's fine.

Pikachu's new stats:

Level 40
Stamina: 41.

Same goes with atk range.

Advantage/Weakness;

A battle between a Pikachu and a Squirtle is going on.

Pikachu, being electric, has an advantage over Squirtle.

Let's say that Pikachu has an attack range of 14.
Pikachu rolls a 4 for attack. Having an advantage,
this number is DOUBLED into 8.

Pikachu does 8 damage to Squirtle.

Pokemon with type-advantage does DOUBLE DAMAGE.


Likewise, Squirtle rolls for attack.
With its weakness, Squirtle rolls an 8 for attack.
This number is then HALVED to 4.

Squirtle does 4 damage to Pikachu.

Pokemon with type-disadvantage does HALF DAMAGE.

Decimal numbers will be rounded up.

Advantage/Weakness Con't;

For pokemon with two types, this is what will happen.


Swinub vs. Charmander

Swinub attacks first. Swinub is both Ground/Ice type.
Its Ground type gives it an advantage over Charmander in that area.

Swinub rolls a 4 for attack. FOCUSING ON ITS GROUND ATTRIBUTE,
Swinub does double damage. Swinub does 8 damage to Charmander.

Charmander attacks. Charmander has an advantage over
Swinub due to ice being weak to fire.

Charmander rolls a 5 for attack. FOCUSING ON ITS FIRE ATTRIBUTE,
Charmander does double damage. Charmander does 10 damage to Swinub.


POKEMON WITH 0 DAMAGE EFFECT TYPES
(eg. Ghost vs. Normal, Electric vs. Ground, WILL NOT OCCUR. Damage is HALVED.)

Yeah, Joltik is one of the gen. 5 pokemon and it's adorable. I may or may not be mildly obsessed. It's evolution (garvantula) is pretty cute, too.
