Name: Gage
Age: 19
species: bat shapeshifter-
southwestern myotis
Appearance:
A little on the tall side, pale, with a slender and angular body
~hair: black, thin, but not trimmed well so it's in his face. None of it really falls down on his neck though.
~eyes: small and greyish brown. No visible sign of his blindness.
~clothes: he asks for black mostly so he doesn't have to worry about matching, but he owns other colors and patterns, so matching mishaps do happen. If he’s irritated or in a hurry, he might put his shirt on backwards. He Always wears a metal band around his wrist.
facts: blind in human form as well as bat and he retains some of a bats excellent hearing as a human, allowing him to easily use human echolocation (by tapping a metal bracelet against his belt). He was born blind, and is totally blind unlike many legally blind people (and bats!) who can see some differences in light.
Personality: he's self-sufficient and hates to always rely on others. He tries to live as much like a seeing person as possible and will sometimes neglect to tell people that he is blind from the get go. He is a loner due to not being able to connect well with others and has been bullied and ignored in the past. Though he does not dislike people, he has become accustomed to existing in a world by himself. He can forget about other people easily if they do not reach out to him, so he tends to find his lack of friends as normal. He seeks solace in music and other noise, as well as being near and eavesdropping on people. He has a complicated love/hate relationship with his blindness. Though he's very stubborn it's mostly in a quiet and internal way. He gets angry when worried/embarrassed/nervous and cannot be as efficient as he normally is since it distracts him. Being calm and collected is not just natural but integral to the way he exists with the world.
Music: Plays piano, violin, acoustic guitar, & the flute. He favors the violin and piano though. Favorite genres are classical and symphonic metal. Anything with very intricate melodies. He only uses a cd player and does not own an ipod. He likes to buy cds at the mall, then go to the book store there and listen to his new music in a corner.
