Families don't seem to play board games together anymore.

We used to play Risk, Monopoly, The Game of Life, Square Mile, Dow Jones, etc.
Then there are the card games... Michigan Rummy, even penny ante poker.

My Mom was a real poker shark.
She cleaned us out all the time.... (we played with buttons)

We just played a board game together last night. We play every few weeks or so but don't set a specific date or time like a game night. I've always loved board games. I'm not big into some of the card games though or Risk.

If you play Risk, you have to have a LOT of time.
It takes forever to play it!

I'm not a fan. I don't like games that take more than an hour or so to play one game of. The faster paced games are more fun for me.

There's a new Monopoly now that doesn't have paper money in it.

I'm not so sure I could get used to that. And also WTF. Monopoly=teaching kids money and math. Using a computer for it defeats everything.

That's true...but it does give them an idea of how credit card sorts of things work.

Most kids don't really seem to have a concept of money these days.
Nobody ever saves for anything anymore. Just put it on a credit card....

I really don't think kids should be taught how to use a credit card at an early age. Not until high school or something... You know, closer to the age when they can actually get them. They need to learn a sense of responsibility for things before they learn about magic money cards.

Either that or make sure they realize that they have to pay it off...

My Mom taught me to NEVER carry a balance on a credit card.
Always pay it off in full when the bill comes in.

She worked in a bank... lol...I had a checking account really early in life.
I'd write checks for 25 cents...

They taught us about credit/debit cards as a senior thing in high school. I never use my credit card even though my mom made me get one for emergencies, it's just too much of a pain to make the payments. My future sister in law got her first credit card and maxed it right away when she was old enough. How stupid of her, she just finished paying of off finally and she's now 30 years old.

The clerks would laugh at me, but they'd take the check.

I hate writing checks. I only do it to pay bills or mail money/pay someone if I don't have the cash.

I don't even own a checkbook anymore.

Hubby has one that he uses to pay a few of the bills, but most bills are just paid online now...

My finace never uses check. He had to have a blank check for something and needed to order a whole book of checks to get that single one he needed.

We use the credit card for everything...but we always pay it off.
The interest they charge is outrageous, so we make sure we never get charged.

I always use my debit card but put it through as a credit card.

Our bank charges for debit cards, so we don't use them.

Huh, that's weird. Mine was free...
