(Kat Dakuu & Liebchen:)

Turning, Sacha clicked the release on his blade, not bothering to wipe it clean before it slid inside his jacket sleeve. He couldn’t stand to look back, though every part of his body knew what lay behind him, his senses oppressing him with the knowledge. So, without a single glance of regret, he hurried for the town’s front gates before anyone saw what he had done.

Out in the open fields surrounded on one side by woods, cold wind tore at Sacha's close fitting clothes. Though he wore a long coat as well, it did little to keep the sudden temperature drop at bay. Not long after the town disappeared from his view did the sun begin to drop beneath the horizon. Snow flurried in the air, nothing like the warmth of the afternoon. Caught completely off-guard, Sacha struggled forward, nowhere near the next city. He couldn't hardly turn back either after what he did. Who would offer a man like him shelter? The wind pulled strands of his long black hair loose from their tie, where they caught in the freezing blood on his cheek. The smell reminded him of reality all too much. Pressing a hand to his ear for a second, he tried to drown out the pounding going on inside his head. It smelled! Damn, he felt like he might throw up. The blood wasn't his of course. That at least gave him some comfort.

The snow only thickened though, falling faster and faster around Sacha until he struggled to see even the line of trees not far away. He forced himself forward even if he shouldn't bother. Except, what else would he do? Something caught his foot however and he pitched forward, plowing into the quickly gathering blanket of snow. Blinking his eyes, he caught sight of a flash of green. The tiny plant stood alone outside the edge of the forest and Sacha couldn’t help but think that it somehow got caught in the storm as well.

"Shall we brave the storm together?" Before he could stop his own stupid, masochistic body, he unbuttoned his coat and swung it to create a tent around him and the plant. Honestly, he didn't know why he did something like this. He was a strong man and capable of surviving a blizzard if need be, but he felt he couldn't do that right now. In reality, he knew exactly why he protected something as insignificant as a plant. He punished himself. After a kill, he always felt hateful toward himself, but today it was especially bad. There had been a child and now that child's blood was on his hands. This was his job though, even if he hated the act of killing, he was a killer for hire. It killed him, but it was the only way of life he knew. So if he punished himself from time to time, it wasn't a big deal.

A figure covered in green leaves and nature stood near a tree unseen as they watched. Even they couldn't figure out why this human was trying to save a sapling in the dead of a freezing blizzard. Standing there they waited watching him only to wonder more and more about the deed. The sapling couldn't aid him in the dead of the blizzard, so why? Their yellow - golden eyes watched from afar as the blizzard picked up the wind's speed. Snow began to fall even more than before as the temperature dropped by the passing moments.

Listening to the nature around them whispering to him "Leave him, he's dangerous" "Don't bother with him child, come back to the warmth of the forest" "Follow on your path young one, no need for any pain caused by this murderous human" Nature knew what the human had done his deeds for and didn't trust him. The young one didn't move from their spot as they camouflaged a bit in with the tree next to them that they held onto.

The temperature only dropped further. It was unfair. It didn't make sense, his mind reasoned. Just this afternoon, he could travel easily. Now he was buried half way up his legs in snow, the inches having formed around him fast, perhaps because he was a windbreak in an otherwise empty path. What gave this little sapling the right to grow here anyway? The forest lay over...well, somewhere. He couldn't really discern much of anything with his eyes, let alone his mind. Blinking, he tried to pull himself up straight again as he started to slump to the side. The sapling would get exposed if he fell before the storm ended and he was a human. He would be fine unlike such a little, delicate thing. Yes, he would be fine.

Sacha squeezed his eyes shut. He knew he should move if he wanted to survive the storm, but he couldn't bring himself to. Not at this point. And yet, he couldn't feel the cold. How could it be wrong to feel warmth tingling in his toes and back as if a blanket of warm furs crept up his body from where it touched the snow? Oh...he was fucked. As the storm finally started to lessen its strength, Sacha let himself start to drift. At least though, the little plant was safe.

The earth creature resided until - even with warnings of nature around them - they moved forward unable to watch a creature or any kind - even human. Pass in such a predicament regardless of whatever they had done. They stepped across the line into the snow as they approached the other. Going around towards the back of the stranger placing their arms around them for support. Not saying a word - as if the human could understand them anyways - they helped the human.

The earth creature bent down to grow the creature onto themselves in order to keep it safe as they helped the human up. They took on of his (Sacha) arms around his neck for added support and moved them into the earth habitat for safety. Even if the snow backed off, the blizzard would stop, it wouldn't do the human good to stay there as he was now.

The earth creature took the human into a pile of leaves towards the middle of the forest. The leaves acted as a warm bed as they put him (Sacha) down upon them. Unable to speak the human language as easily they didn't know how to tell them to stay put. Though they doubt they'd be moving anytime soon with being cold and numb. Or so they presumed they were cold and numb to begin with.

The earth creature knelt down making plants grow around the human to add guided warmth and then moss over him as well. The moss would act as a way to keep the heat in while warming the body with the plants on the outside. Some of the plants were known as chamomile and would relax them. After this the earth creature went back up into a tree waiting, it was all they could do. For now.

Somewhere through his delirium, Sacha got the impression that he moved. It must be a trick of his mind though because he could have sworn that...an army of leaves carried him away. He closed his eyes, deciding that this must be the end. Finally, the vertigo feeling left him as if he stopped moving, though he couldn't have really been moving in the first place. Everything felt warm though, so warm. He blinked his eyes open for a second, taking in the surroundings of the forest without really taking them in. His eyes met that of the earth creature. After a second of staring, his eyes slid closed again before he slid into a deep sleep.

Sacha didn't know for how long he slept, but when he did wake, it was with a painful start, his legs jerking with action, knowing they needed to escape their horrible death. Except, the blizzard was gone, the angry townsfolk of his dreams were gone. Sacha stared at a soft bed of leaves that looked far too purposefully placed to be coincidence. Especially since he did not remember getting here. Which left, only one explanation. "Have I died...?"

Leaves rustled around him as a small creature appeared, a rabbit - so small and innocent - pressed it's head against the human's face rubbing on it. As if to say he wasn't dead but alive if he could feel the softness of the white fur. The leaf creature, Cypress, stayed hidden but still able to be seen if looked for. He wasn't sure speaking in his language would do any good as the words may be carried on the wind, yet might not be able to be understood.

The rabbit stayed close to the human as if to say 'You're safe' until the creature finally decided to descend with caution "You...are not...dead..." Cypress slowly spoke after watching humans for awhile he was able to slightly pick up on some words, this was something one human said to another when helping from after being attacked. He was more in the shadows so not fully able to be seen, just here and there plus his yellow golden eyes.

Sacha stiffened as a rabbit snuggled near to him. He didn't know what it meant. A small creature being this comforting? Rather than bringing comfort, it darkened his soul. He didn't deserve any of this. Surely hell would descend at any moment after having tricked him, because real life was never this kind of him. However, a hesitant voice cancelled that theory. Sacha pulled himself up partly in order to turn, trying to find the source of the voice.

"Who...are you?" he managed to croak after trying twice to say the words. His body still felt sluggish and after moving, it was more apparent. His head throbbed and his limbs moved as if encased in lead or heavy chains. There was a familiarity to it and he didn't like the thought at all. Sacha narrowed his eyes. A yellow stare? Just what sort of creature spoke to him?

"You should rest, it's not wise to...move around so quickly." Cypress said as he slowly came out of the shadows while stepping into the sunlight in which greeted him with a warm embrace. "Lay back, get some rest. I will watch over you for now, be at ease." Cypress earth form appeared as he stood there covered mostly in green or leaves, even his hair seemed more plant like than it should have. The yellow eyes were not fully solid, the detail could be seen if one had gotten or would have gotten closer in order to tell. Kneeling next to Sacha he placed his hand on the man's shoulder in order to direct him back to the ground. "You need to rest and Lily here seems to agree." He spoke talking about the rabbit, he knew his form would not have a pleasant effect on the other, it never did with anyone minus those who knew him. The plants and animals around the surrounding area.

Sacha couldn't shake the feeling that he was dreaming. Otherwise, how could he believe his eyes? The creature with the yellow eyes who stepped out of the shadows was like nothing he had seen before. It looked neither like a human or a tree, but something in between. With his so far narrow view of the world, he couldn't even think up a word to describe this thing. As it came nearer and laid a hand on his shoulder, Sacha shimmied away from the touch, once again repeating his question. "Who are you? What....are you...?" His voice wavered, knowing that was the far better question. Still, the desire to rest as asked pulled on him and only his stubborn nature kept him from obeying. This couldn't be heaven and this couldn't be earth. He had to...remain alert. He had to because only hell remained.
