"Pleasure to meetcha as well, Avias," Josh replied, grinning widely. To be honest, the robot kind of puzzled him, though he thought it was rather nifty. Stuff like that wasn't too common around the suburbs he had grown up in after all. "Naw, don't apologize. It's fine, really. He's pretty cool, though I don't know exactly what he is." The way it looked at him reminded him of his neighbor's old dog, so, instinctively, he reached out to pat its head in a friendly manner.

Noticing after a few moments that the congregation of people was beginning to make its way out into the courtyard and beyond, Josh stood up. "I suppose we should start getting to our classes, huh?" he asked, using telekinesis to push his chair in. "I suppose I'll see ya around then. Maybe we can catch up tomorrow or something if I don't see ya today." And with that, as well as a wave, he was off, mingling in with the crowd as they pushed and throbbed to the Commons area as previously directed.

Snoring softly on the cool concrete of the shady alcove, Beth was sleeping rather soundly. The nightmares she usually had weren't bothering her; only pleasant thoughts filled her head, absolutely imperceptible through her shadow and shield. Her dreams though, were of their usual ilk. Her parents were still alive, she didn't have to hide anything from anyone, and she had a decent amount of friends to talk to and hang out with. Everything was great; just like the endings in some of her favorite novels.

Nothing good lasted forever, though, and before too long her dreams dissolved into the blackness that was usually present throughout her sleep. It was almost as if her brain shut down, though it continued to maintain its shadow and shield despite her lack of conscious effort. In fact, that effect actually bolstered her shield and shadow, as the lack of white noise made her even harder to detect through psychic means. Not that that meant anything to her as she continued to sleep.

Avias blinked for a moment, then looked down at Orbie as the other male left. "Well that was...odd..but good I guess" he laughed slightly. He stood, placing the robot back in his bag, before making his way to the doors. First off, he was up for Psychic Training, simple enough. He wasn't big on flaunting his powers, but he would do what he needed to pass the class. He was a straight A student, because of his power and his mind, being anything less was a bit against his nature. He smiled as he looked around at the other students on their way to class. They all looked so eager to get going, and many of them were with friends, or already taking in some of the newer students. He sighed a bit, and made his way around them. He needed to find his class, for he did not want to be late.

He figured training would take place in the large gym like room, and he was right. Plenty of space and things to train with for all types of psychic powers. He had herd of the teacher who oversaw this class, he was supposed to be young, handsome, but scary. He wondered if the rumors he had herd about the man were true. If they were, he was going to have to do his best to stay on the other's good side. He took a breath, and closed his eyes. Making his way to the bleachers, he took up a seat near the bottom, and watched as other students began to file in one by one. Some of them looked nervous, others who were new like him seemed excited. It was a mix of feelings, but inside of him, he was on edge. He tried to keep this at bay as he waited.

Alexzander Dusk

Alexzander Dusk fixed his tie in the mirror outside of the office, making sure it was straight. He then reached into his pocket, and debated on putting his glasses on or not. His eyes were an unusual ruby color, which were a result of his power. His eyes were a dangerous tool in his case, and most learned quickly not to look him directly in the eye, unless they wanted to have their mind taken over. His other ability helped to fule his first, but that was for a later topic. He had classes today, and that ment he would have to split his attention from second in command to the headmaster with training these younger beings how to control their own minds and not kill eachother. He sighed, and closed his eyes, rubbing his temples a bit.

Being older and more developed, his powers were far stronger then the students, he had had plenty of time to perfect them, and since his power was a special case, he figured his position was no fluke. It was more to the headmistress' benifit to have him as an allie then an enemy. She didn't have to push to hard, after his past and such, he had become fond of her and loyal. He had no reason to go against her, at least none that was truly benifiting to him. He was a man of his word and loyalty, even if an option was benificial to him, he wouldn't take it. He was not a traitor or a rat. He sighed a bit, and moved to the headmistress' door.

Knocking, he spoke in a calm and cool tone like he always did, his voice never giving away emotions or thoughts. People said he had a permanent poker face as well, you could never tell what he was feeling or thinking just by looking at him. At times the only emotions ever to pass over his face or voice would be disappointment or anger, he had never seemed to be happy to the students before. That was not something to think about right now. "Headmistress?" he says, listening for a reply or an adress to enter. He was patient, not worried about waiting most of the time, though he was not one for wasting time either. He hated pointless things, and never wasted his time with things he knew were just that.

He glanced at his watch, it was almost time. He just needed to get the files on the newer students, so he could be familiar with what he was dealing with. He stood tall and straight as he waited, wondering if the headmistress was in a good mood today, or even in yet. He doubted she would be late on the first day, he respected her more for her normal sense of punctuality. He himself was also a man of time and order, glancing at a table near the door, his hand moved over to straighten a picture. He gave the faintest hint of a smile, before it was gone, and his steely composure returned. He looked back at the door, before taking the handle within his hand.

~Rebecca Ridgwell~

Rebecca looked up from her papers, her reading glasses sliding halfway down her nose. She had been too emersed in her work to notice that someone had nocked. A gimmer of a smile flashed over her face as she saw who had enterd. Rebecca slid off her glasess and placed them on her desk gently as she stood gracefully from her chair. "Ah, Alexander. What can I do you you, dear?" She asked, her long slender fingers outstreched towards him, beckoning him to come nearer. Rebecca had long, shiney, red hair that curled at the ends, beautiful and scarlet eyes. She was fairly young. Some might say too young to be a Headmistress of an accademy such as this. Not only was Rebecca a Headmistress, she was also a High Preistes for her part of the country. As High Preistes, Rebecca had the final say in laws regarding the Psychic Comunity. It was an extreamly high honor, especially for someone her age. Rebecca knew all this and wasn't exactly modest but she wasn't snobby either. She always carried herself with pride and held her head high.

Avril sighed as she pushed through the crowd of students. She hated being this close to so manny different people. In an attempt to foccus on other things, Avril looked around for her class. Psychic History year 3 was what she had frist. She kept repeating it to herself in her head in an attempt to keep mind occupied. Why they had put her in year three, she did not know. This was her fist year here, yet she was starting off as a Junior. Almost all of Avril's classes were 'advanced' in some way or another. Mannaging to make it through the croud in one pice, Avril found her class and walked in. Most of the students had already been seated do to the fact that the'd been there multiple years. All eyes were on Avril as she made her way down the row of seats. Checking to make sure her sheild was still slightly up, she took a seat in the back of the class in a dimly lit corner. She took off her messenger bag and leaned her head against the wall. Just being slightly coverd by the shadows had already started to make her feel better.

Ferdi was walking towards his class after saying his good-byes to Josh. He made his way though the crowds of students that had filled the school. He thought how so many students could fit in the school. "Josh seems like a nice guy, he'd be nice to have around. But that Ryu guy..." Ferdi was aware of Ryu's lack of social skills that he had seen so far, maybe he could help him develop them? Well he would have to try and start a conversation with him that would last longer then about a minuet. He entered his class room and took out his writing pad and pen and put them on his desk, there were a few more students entering, with him passing the occasionally hello as they passed him. He thought about Avril and how he was going to see her again, in such a large school it would be impossible to find her, even if he had 3 other Ferdi's about the school. He still had her journal and needed to give it back to her but he had no idea how to. He could try lunch, he might be able to get some of the other people that he had met such as Josh and the other girl he had met yesterday. "What was her name again? Beth. That was it." He would have to get Beth involved too.

Rafael sighed a bit as he wasn't seeing anyone, maybe it was closed, but just as he thought that he heard the voice on the loud speaker calling out to new students. "Huh... Past the courtyard." He whispered to himself as he plucked up the courage to finally step onto the Academy grounds, with one last look around he noticed there was no-one around and he smiled. "Now this I don't mind, a life without being pestered by spirits and people." He mumbled as he began to walk at a steady pace. "But I know for a fact that I will have to interact with others soon." he grumbled looking down at the ground a little. "Maybe I wont, maybe I will be able to avoid others." With a little look up before looking back to the ground he noticed he was going the right way in which the loudspeaker had said.

He was confused at what the voice meant by "You'll know your teachers when you see them." He thought it over and scratched the back of his head a little. "What did she mean? Are they truly that obvious?" He asked himself as he looked up to the way he was walking and he began to look around and scan the area for anyone who could be a teacher. "The voice had better be right." He grumbled as he sighed again, it was clear he was a rather shy guy who hated crowds and being forced to attend a academy was light his worst nightmare.

Pulling out his paper as he walked to double-check his schedule, Josh frowned a bit. History had never been very fun for him, so the thought of having a history class first thing in the morning was rather depressing. But it was Psychic history, so it might be a little more interesting than the usual world history that normal schools had. Besides that, he would probably be in a room full of people he could, hopefully, befriend.

After a bit of back and forth, he eventually found his room. The room was brimming with people, all of whom knew each other it seemed. But that only made sense considering the fact that they were probably there the year prior. Being a new kid didn't really phase him though, which showed as he walked down the aisle to an empty seat near the back, smiling and nodding at various students and telling a few of the closer ones his name with a handshake.

Being the social guy that he was, Josh couldn't very well choose an empty desk away from everyone. So, he ended up sitting next to a girl, whom he recognized as the same girl that had been talking to the strange boy before in the cafe. "Name's Josh. It's a pleasure ta meetcha ma'am," he said in his typical Texan accent, offering his hand for a handshake.

Avril's eyes were closed as she leaned against the wall, and she was starting to doze off. Suddenly she heard a Texan accent next to her. Figuring that it wasn't directed at her, she stayed put. After a while, Avril straightend herself and looked up. She hadn't heard a reply. Maybe it was ment for her. She turned her head slightly, and there was one of the boys from the cafe sitting in the seat next to her. Josh, apparently. Just looking out his outstreached hand, Avril mummbled her name. She didn't take his hand as offered, just stared at it. He seemed like a very socialble guy. The kind that Avril used to have to watch out for. She'd been hurt so manny times in the past. No, not in some stupid teenager break up way. And not in a social way either. Avril had never had either of those anyway. A social life, or a relationship. No, Avril thought back to her earier school days. Guys like him, and girls like him, would always phisically hurt her. And because she hadn't really put herself out much in her normal high school, she wasn't sure if that would still be the case with this high school. Avril was strong now, but she still wasn't sure about that type of people. She was always so skittesh around them. Taking a deep breath, Avril finaly took his hand in hers.

He raised an eyebrow, his hand slipping his glasses back into his pocket as he entered. "I merely need the files, so training can begin" he says, stepping in a bit more as she silently called. He looked at her, his eye not straining around anywhere else. They had no reason to, and he was no nosy. Shaking his head a bit, he cleared his thoughts, and moved to the edge of the desk waiting. With any luck, he would be able to get the students through the year with...minimal assistance. Taking a deep breath, he calms himself a bit more to where his thoughts fully went blank. He looked past her out the window for a moment, the sun shining brightly already, perhaps they would go out to the courtyard with their training. For now, he figured he should hurry.

Rebecca smiled, "Of course." She went to her desk and drummed her fingers on the table as she shuffled through the files on her desk, her nails clicking against the polished wood. She found the file and slid it out of it's place. "Here you are." Rebecca smiled to Alexander as she handed him what he'd asked for. "The students will be entering class soon, am I correct?" She asked as she began to walk gracefully out of her office, expecting Alexander to follow. "I'd like to sit in on your first class this morning. I will be doing a routeen sit in of all classrooms. Yours is first." Rebecca placed her hand on the doorknob, jesturing for Alexander to lead the way. "Shall we?"

Alexzander took a breath, as he listened to her talk. He took the files from her, and lightly filtered through them. Looking over at her he nodded at the comment of the sit in and his being first. He supposed it was better to get it over with now then. He did not have much planned since it was merely the first day of the year, but that was no problem. He was more interested in familiarizing himself with his students and their abilities. That was key in his field, he had to get to know their powers, and make a plan for their individual strengths and weaknesses. This was so he could help each to the fullest. He also figured this was slightly the point of the sit ins, but he held his tongue. Stepping out of the door, he slowly lead her down the hall back towards his room, where he would be teaching the students.

He noticed chatter almost immediatly as they neared, and a slight throb threatened to rise in his head. So they were a chatty lot eh? He shook his head slightly, they would learn respect soon enough. He looked at his watch, counting the seconds down as the las bit of the time before classes passed. Overhead he herd the sound of the bell signaling the begining of class. He moved inside of the room, and the students went silent. He was very aware of many eyes on him and the headmistress as they entered. He pulled out a list of names which would be who his first class would consist of. Scanning it quickly, he moved to the center before the bleachers. "Goodmorning, I am your professor or teacher for this class, whichever you prefer is fine" his eyes rise to look at the students.

"You may refer to me as Mr. Dusk, and this is your Headmistress. She will be sitting in this morning, so you will all be on your best behavior" he looks down at the list once more. "The mind is a powerful thing, and with the addition of mental powers, it becomes even more of a challenge to control" he pauses. "When you do learn to control it, it can be a very powerful ally, and this is why you are here" his eyes glance in the direction of the headmistress. He figured he might as well make sure everyone was there, so he looked down at the paper with their names. "I will call your name, and respond with saying that you are present....after this we will move on to more full introductions."

He began going down the list, most of the people saying present in quiet voices. They seemed more nervous and leery then he would have figured. Seemed that the rumors of him and his teaching methods had spread. He moveed to the next name. "Avias Styx" he says, and soon herd the responce of a present that allowed him to check off the name. He finished, and soon went back to the names that had failed to respond, double checking that he had not missed anyone. He paused at a name "Elizabeth Carson?" His eyes scanned the people, as he listened for any form of a present or answer. He sighed a bit, it seemed that someone was a bit late. He shook his head, tardiness was not what he liked to see.

Rebecca smiled sweetly to the students as Alexander introduced her. Her hand were clutching a clip board and pen. She would take down any notes she needed to ensure this school year went as smoothly as possible. As Alaxander began to call the names of the students she looked at each as they responded with saying present, giving a slight nod here and there when an occasional pair of student's eyes met her own. She liked to familiarize herself with the students. It made running the school much more efficiant for her. Not that she necciserily had a problem learining their names. She had cameras in every inch of the school. She knew plenty. Rebbeca was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard a name repeated. No one had answerd. She turned to Alexander and whisperd "Send her to my office after school. I'll need you there as well." And with that, Rebecca turned and walked out of the training hall, despite what she had said about observing. Rebecca was usually a lenient and easy going Headmisstres. However, she did not not tolerate truency.

"Ya seem nervous, but you don't have ta worry," he said, pumping his arm firmly and steadily before he let go of Avril's hand. "Ah don't bite, and I'm sure that no one else here does either." By then, a few people were looking back, though they quickly lost interest and went back to whatever it was they were talking about before hand. It appeared that the teacher was going to be a bit, which meant that they had a bit of time to talk.

"If ya don't mind my askin'," Josh continued, turning his amber eyes away from the rest of the class and back to Avril, "what's your ability? Mine's telekinesis, but it seems like there's a lot of flashier powers than that around this place." That was a bit of an understatement though, even with his humility. So far, he had seen a robot, someone who could blend into his surroundings, and a guy who could make miniature explosions of varying colors, like firecrackers. It had really been an awe-inspiring morning.

Avril just blinked at Josh as he asked her about her powers. She wasn't exactly one to just tell people. But she figured that she might as well be open here, everyone else was pretty much on the same boat as her. Taking a deep breath and closing her eyes Avril half whisperd half exhaled her words. "I can fee other people's moods and influence them if i'd like. I also have visions through drawings. Which are never intentional." After she'd finnished she waited a few moments before reopening her eyes. Avril shiverd slightly as she caught a wave of excitment off the other students. Up untill now, Avril was making sure to keep her powers pluged. She didn't really want to feel everyone else's emotions. It was a lot of stress, and sometimes the emotions were just forced upon her. Sometimes it was the other way around. She could make someone feel something the didn't really feel. She'd never done it intentionaly unless it was benificial for the person she was doing it to. She had, however done it a few times unintentially.

Allistar was almost glad his day started with a class he was used to.

During the faculty meeting with all of the new students in the Commons, he was flat amazed at some of the things he saw, heard... Or in some cases, what he didn't see and hear. It was like the fantasy stories he read when he was younger had found a focal point, and poured into the 'real world' right in that one spot. The abilities he saw and experienced were nothing short of amazing to him.

Now Allistar worried that not only he was the oldest freshman at the Academy, but that his abilities were so basic, so pedestrian...

Allistar sighed and rounded the corner, managing to find his first classroom without much issue. He smiled slightly to himself as he entered the room and noted many fixtures that were the same as his Physics class back home.

Well... Back at his old school. Old home. He frowned as he remembered the good-byes not even a day ago, but then he stopped... He now noticed things that were quite a bit different from his old classes, and wondered what they could be for.

"Wait a sec," he thought to himself, his mechanical mind clicking into gear, "That could be used for ultra-dense shielding... That over there looks like it's a big electromagnet... Antimatter containment? Seriously???" Allistar's eyes widened at the possibilities, and his smile widened as he sat. He only vaguely noticed that he'd separated himself from the other students already present by a little bit as his mind worked through what it would take to make the contents of the room into a workable mock-up of those faster-than-light engines he saw in that one science-fiction series.

Allistar was now very glad his day started with a class he was used to... But that would have some fun little twists.

"Whoo," Josh replied, whistling as he took a breath. That was... unexpected, to say the least. The thought of someone messing with his head and emotions caused him to cast a quick glance at the others in the room, face a perfectly clear mask. While his power really wasn't anything to laugh at, he had never thought that any other powers would be all that different from his. How naive he had been to believe that.

"Do ya know anyone else like that?" he asked, still casting a glance at the others every once in a while. While he normally wasn't one to distrust people, he had heard a group of students laughing at a story where another man was tormented by the storyteller. It was torture, but they thought it was hysterical. How many more students were twisted into believing that they were "better" than regular, old people? "Is there a way to protect against stuff like that? I trust that ya won't do that on me, but I would like to know just in case other students thought they'd have a bitta fun with me, ya know?"

Sighing a bit to himself, Alexzander shook his head. This was going to be an interesting day. He turned back to the class, and began having them introduce themselves to eachother, and familiarizing himself more with their levels and their abilities. Soon he had them partner up and begin working on some simple mental exercises, as he filled out a bit of paperwork on his end. It seemed he had a few on each level within his first class, one of the people who drew his attention was Avias, and he looked his file over once more. "Interesting" it was a bit rarer to see mind developments that streatched out to other things rather then just mind baised powers. Those being elemental or technological were a bit more wild and dangerous on their own level. It would be good to keep an eye on any other students who fell into that category.

Avias sighed, as the headmistress left. It was a bit calmer after that, though introducing himself and his more tech baised powers was one thing he was semi hoping of avoiding. Shaking his head, he focused more on the exercises that they were doing. He kept his bag close, since Orbie seemed a bit restless from being stuck inside of it. He hoped that things went as smoothly within his other classes today. The teacher's eyes were felt on him for a portion of the class, but he fought the urge to look over at him at all, trying not to make it obvious that he knew he was watching. He looked at the clock, and wondered what was going to happen to that girl that the headmistress and the teacher had been talking about. He figured that not showing up on your first day was probrably not the best way to start off the year, but it wasn't his buisiness, and best that he stayed out of it. He focused on his studies.

Marco slipped into his first class, Algebra Two, glad to have made it in on time. He let out a small sigh when he saw no one he recognized, so quietly took a seat next to a male with his head on his desk. Staring at the male for a few seconds, Marco wondered if he should introduce himself. He decided against it, not wanting to wake him up if he was sleeping. Staring at him a couple seconds longer, Marco turned to the front, figuring how weird that must've looked to any of the other students. He also figured that if the male was anything like anybody else around this school, he would've known Marco was there, which made the blonde sink into his chair slightly. Note to self, stop staring at people. He said, before pulling out his pen and notebook to prepare for the lecture.
~

Ellie watched as students filed into the classroom, each having light hearted discussions with each other. She watched the time patiently, before silencing the class when it was time to begin. She quickly introduced herself, giving a little back story about herself for all of the new students, before taking role, everyone seeming to be there for the most part.

She gave a lecture on grammar things, and stories, and read off some poems. Her class was pretty ordinary for a school full of students with abilities.

Avril was taken aback by Josh's reaction to her abilities. She had never gotten a positive reaction towards them. She had gotten plenty of negative reactions. People who feard her or hated her because of them. Sometimes even people who wanted to experament on her. And at the school so far shed only gotten a sort of bored reaction. When she'd told the few people she'd come across about her powers she hardly got a shrug or a nod of aknowlagement. Then again, she supposed her abilities were nothing special when you were dealing with this school. With people like Beth who could read minds, or people like Ferdi who could create coppies of himself. Her abilities were nothing compared to theirs. And then there was Ryu who has somehow developed a strong enough shield to compleatly keep everyone out. It was just plain amazing. All she could do was had self destructive visions that no one seemed to pay any attention to, and feel other people's amotions or make them feel something that wasn't really there. They were certainly nothing special.

When Josh had asked her if she knew anyone with the same abilities as she all she did was shake her head no. Avril had never met anyone else like her. Not even at the school. now that she thought about it, Avril couldn't help but wonder if she was the only person with the abilities she had. That would certainly be interesting. Avril was jerked out of her thought process when Josh asked her another question. "There's this thing called shielding, but you have to work on it for it to be truly effective." As soon as Avril had finnished, their teacher had stepped into the classroom. She listend as he explaind history. From th verry beginning of psychics. Apparently Psychics were always around. Most people have some sort of psychic ablilty, it just depended on if they used it at all and how much of it they managed to unlock. Avril thought this was all extreamly interesting. She wonderd how manny people were out there who would never discover that they have special abilities to some degree. She didn't know if she was happy or sad for them. Would it be better to not have powers? Or better with them?

Ferdi's lesson started without too much trouble, being in a class filled with seniors everyone knew each other with one or two people that were new two the class. The chatter before was mainly people talking about their school break and what they had been up to. The teacher walked into the class and the chatter died down. The teacher turned to the board and started to write down what was needed be the students. The class was silent other then the occasional cough form a student and the constant sounds of the chalk on the board revealing what was needed against blank black canvas."God, this is deathly boring." Ferdi was on the brink of falling asleep as he just continued to write and write with what felt like time passing as slow as possible. "Is there something that you would like to say, Mr Bourne?" His teachers monotonous voice filling the room, and the other students turning to look at him. "No, Sir. Nothing." He had forgotten that his teacher was a telepath. "Good." The teacher turned back to the board and continued to write.

Avril all but jumped out of her seat as soon as she heard the bell ring. Slinging her messanger bag over her sholder and tucking her notes inside she turned to Josh with a quick glance. "Nice to meet you." And with that, Avril hurried out the door and back into the cluster of people. She sighed, she had forgotten about the huge crowed of people she had to evade in order to get to her next class. Making sure her powers were plughed, Avril pushed her way through the crowed. If she didn't make sure she was blocking out all these people's emotions and they got through to her, she'd black out from the forceof it all.

As she neared her next class Avril smiled to herself. Algebra 2, Huh? This was going to be no problem for her. Back home Avril loved math. She could never get bored of it. Especially Algebra. Avril walked in and found a seat in the front of the class. All the other seats had been taken. Even if she like the subject, she still preferd to be in the back of the class away from everyone else.

The teacher walked in and the students all quieted down. He began to call out roll call. Each studednt responded by saying a hushed "here" or "present". When he got to Avril's name he looked directly at her as he called it, as if he already knew. "Present.." She said, not wanting to meet his eyes. After he finnished up roll call the rest of the class went fairly normal. Avril took notes as she was supposed to and coppied down and solved the problems he'd asked. It was so easy for her. Maybe they'd put her in the wrong class.

The class seemed to go all too quickly.

And it wasn't nearly as exciting for him as he'd hoped.

But it was still quite the experience.

Allistar reflected over his first class as he walked to his next... "Algebra 2," he reminded himself. He was still thinking about Physics, though. He had seen some pretty amazing things in that class, but none of them dealt with Physics. There were several students that were apparently quite powerful; the professor had to point them out, and showed how the damned Laws of Physics themselves could be bent, cancelled out, or rewritten altogether. It was exciting, and a bit scary.

He was a little too bored with actual Physics itself in this first day.

"It'll probably get better," he mused as he entered his next class, and found himself a random seat. Allistar smirked slightly as the random seat was up front of the class. He would be able to see more of the classwork than the class itself; normally not a bad thing, but he found himself more curious about the students than the material at this Academy so far. Glancing around, he found himself once again wondering how he'd fit in with the students... He wondered if anyone else had his particular skill, or anything related. He wondered if there were people as 'potent' as his classmates in his Physics class seemed.

The class quieted down as the professor came in. Allistar watched as he seemed to momentarily study each student as he called their name, and seemed to take a particular interest in the girl with the long red hair and blue eyes to Allistar's right. He wondered why that was, what might be special about her that might be so attention-grabbing for the...

"Allistar Calhoun?" Allistar snapped himself back to the here and now, smirking, turning with a steady gaze to the professor.

"Right here, sir." The professor seemed to return the smirk and shook his head, continuing on. Allistar sighed to himself. He hadn't had a problem with confidence for a while, but this Academy was making him wonder about how truly special he was. He pulled pencil and paper from his bag, and set about the tasks laid out in class, trying to tell himself that he belonged here...

Yawning as she opened her eyes, Beth stared at the clouds drifting by for a few moments through squinted eyes before she realized that she should have been in class last period. A shrug was all that the thought merited, however, as she slowly stood and stretched her legs. The worst that they would do was give her a detention after all, right? It wasn't as if she had wanted to cut class either; that headache had been brutal. Even then it was still lingering around inside her skull, a roommate to the nausea in her stomach.

She didn't want to make it seem like she was too much trouble on the first day, so she made her way to her next class, Algebra II rather begrudgingly. She shuffled into the room as the bell rang, ignoring the bewildered expressions, thoughts, and feelings at her dress and nodding to the professor as she took one of the only available seats next to Avril, though she didn't seem to notice her. As was her habit, she had automatically downloaded the understanding that the teacher had for the course. Of course, she had forgotten that they would be more sensitive to that sort of thing, and she was only reminded of that fact when he started, stared directly at her, and wrote something down on a piece of paper.

With her new-found understanding and natural aptitude, she was finished with the problems very rapidly despite her headache. After a few minutes of class, she suddenly looked over at Avril. "Oh, sorry. I just realized you were here," she thought, blushing slightly. Clearly she wasn't paying nearly as much attention as she should have been. It also wouldn't hurt for her to make a stop at her dorm before their next class to get her migraine medicine. "How's it going so far?"

Apart from Avril, she was also aware of a lot of nervous students in the classroom, as well as a few who were pretty relaxed, like Avril. She shifted a bit in her seat uncomfortably before sent out a wave of calm feelings, purposely avoiding Avril and the teacher so that she would remain undetected. As it was, her shadow was still up, which meant that people would be hard pressed to detect exactly where it had originated, even if they had some ability doing so.

((Angelo! Mood controll is my power. Yours are Telekenises and Teleportation))

Avril was shocked when she heard Beth's voice. "What are you doing? Why are you late?" She whisperd to her. She looked quickly back at the professor, his back was to them and he was foccusing on writing out a problem on the board. "You're lucky he didn't catch you coming in. I can imagint the punishment for tardiness on the first day would be rather sevier." Avril looked back at her work and coppied down the next problem the professor had written down. Figuring out the majoraty of the problem out in her head, she finnished in a few secconds.

As Avril continued to work on her problems she felt eyes on her. It made her uneasy. She bit her lip nervously and brought her hair over to one side of her neck. It was so long that it almost reached the floor when she was hunched over in her seat. Avril sat up straight and fumbled with her pen, waiting for the professer to write out the next problem. Avril could still feel eyes on her but she wouldn't let herself look at who it was. She refused.

Avril furrowed her frow, frustrated with herself. She wanted to look. But soething inside her kept telling her to just foccus on her work. Avril pused the feeling aside and looked out of the corner of her eye at who was staring at her. Then her eyes darted straight back to her work as she coppied down the next few problems and solved them all in a matter of secconds. That glance was all she would allow herself.

Ferdi continued to write in pure boredom until he heard the bell ring to end the lesson. He grabbed his stuff and headed for the door. "Not so fast Mr. Bourne. A word if you may." His teacher halted him in the doorway and cursed at him self that he was going to be late to his next lesson. "Is there a problem sir?" He asked, knowing full well why he was being kept behind. "May I ask in future that any opinions that you have about my methods of teaching, can you keep them out side of the classroom or more importantly, your head." Ferdi knew that this is what his teacher stopped him for. "This won't happen again sir. I promise."

Ferdi left the room and walked out into the filled hallway, making his way through the crowds that made moving difficult. His lesson was in another building and he knew that he wasn't going to get there in time. So he sent out a copy outside to hopefully get somewhat further ahead. He didn't have much luck. It was clear outside so the other Ferdi managed to gain some ground but was stopped again by more crowds. "Oh for christs sake. How many people actually go here? There seem to be more people here then ever before." He pushed and barged his way through crowds and reached his Biology class. "Sorry that I'm late. My original should be here shortly. Corridor traffic you know what it's like." He found his seat and patiantly waited for the original Ferdi to arrive.

Allistar was able to solve the problems being presented with ease, but he was pretty sure that others were having an even easier time of it. Some of the people he managed to catch glances of were done instantly after the professor had written the problems on the board.

"Hell," he thought, "some seemed done even before that!"

His attention focused briefly on the two students to his right: the red-haired, blue-eyed girl, and the young lady who'd arrived late...

Allistar blinked as he turned back to his work. The latecomer seemed impossibly young, no more than 7 or 8 if he were to fathom a guess from appearances alone. She must've been extremely talented mentally to be here with the rest of the students. She also seemed to be able to hold her own with the older students socially, seeing as the two girls were chatting when the professor wasn't paying attention... Or at least Allistar didn't think he was. He couldn't tell.

"Some things don't change, no matter what school you go to," he thought with a bemused smile. But still, he knew that appearances weren't exactly what they seemed. He couldn't tell a lot of things with this student body. The one thing that he could tell is that he was a bit of a curiosity. He felt that little tickling in the recesses of his brain more than once so far; his father's military training gave him that keen sense of his surroundings, and that "feeling" when attention was being paid to him.

Allistar shook his head and focused back on his work, trying to push the nagging sensations out of his mind for the moment.
