I usually am a night owl -- in between nightmares, insomnia and young kiddos who love to wake up randomly and wake me up whenever I do find myself sleeping. >.< But I have a love/hate relationship with the sun -- being super pale, I tend to burn, but the kids love to spend time outside, splashing in the pools we have for them, and playing in the sprinklers so I usually hide out there, with the twins - under an umbrella with misters, to try to make it slightly bearable. xD LOL

Burning sucks, I absolutely hate sunburn! I don't even think I liked summertime as a kid! I remember being in school and our teacher told us about children who go to school all year round and he was like, "These children have a long winter break, no summer break" and everyone was like, "WHAT THAT SUCKS!" and I was secretly like... "fuck yeah year round school!"

Yay! :D
It really does suck! I've got very fair skin, and the girls seem to have gotten their dad's slightly darker skin -- not really darker as in black, just darker as in not white. If that even makes sense? Becca nearly started crying when school ended - not because she liked it -- well she does, but more because she'd not get to hang out with her friends like she did during school. Her words, not mine. XD

I remember loving summer break because it meant getting on a plane and flying over to England to spend the summer with mum's family. ^_^ Good times!!

Things are going pretty good - just trying to keep the kiddos busy while trying not to fry to a crisp! I'm so over the heat waves that keep hitting us! But we're managing! I've convinced the girls to come inside, and they're distracted by some kids show on Netflix, while the twins nap, and we wait on their dad to get home -- so I'm sneaking on for a little bit before life gets chaotic again. Which I am sure will happen as soon as Alex gets home, and make the girls run around like little crazy people! I'd not change it for the world, but it sure makes getting online harder these days!

I was a very outdoorsy child so I loved summer break. > o> Nowadays I don't go out as much.

I go out now as an adult, mostly as of late due to my own children and their love of the outdoors. :P (I'd prefer that they'd like to spend time outside instead of inside in front of the TV, but when it's super hot -- in the 100's -- I'd much rather spend time inside. xD LOL)

I mostly stay indoors and watch stuff, read books, or play video games. XP

Ava's been okay. :D
She wears a load of sunscreen so she doesn't tan or burn. Ava has dark-ish skin, so of course she doesn't burn as easily, but she does burn when in the sun too long. :(
She also doesn't want to tan, she likes her skin as it is, not darker. When she was little you know, her parents never put sunscreen on her. So she would burn every summer. :(

Ava missed out on the good genes. :( She burns, she is hairy, etc. most black people don't have a lot of body hair, but Ava is a hairy ape. :D But that's okay, I don't mind it.

Oh dear!! That's not good that your parents never put sunscreen on you! sunburns hurt so bad! I'm super fair, so I burn crazy easily -- I have lots of cover ups and big sunhats for whenever I do have to go out in the sun.

You are fine the way you are! Everyone is different from one another - it just makes you wonderfully unique!

Board games seem to keep my 6 year old distracted for short periods of time, but my 3 year old has a super short attention span.
