I've really been into fantasy for pretty much ever, The mortal Instruments series is pretty good. I can't give an honest recommendation unless you tell me more about the things you like to read? I'm a librarian-to-be so I'm pretty good at finding books for people, if you give me some idea of what you like in characters and plot and tone and whatnot I can totally help!

I love reading fantasy books myself. Who do you like?
I enjoy Mercedes Lackey, Terry Brooks, Garth Nix, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, and others.

I love Tolkien! I read all his LOTR books and the hobbit in high school as part of my advanced fantasy and mytho class and it was awesome. I'm also into more modern takes on fantasy, and books that have fantasy like qualities but take place in reality.

I enjoy epic and heroic fantasy rather than magical realism. However, my favorite books are basically character centered/ character driven.
