Well that's usually because no one wants to drive the price up too high. XD I've never won an action before since someone always swoops in with a higher bid by the end.

Pep:Yess I know 0__< Aeris' auctions were like that.

Ferra: that's why I'm trying to get all the GOLD I can!

If I have to && I can, I'll add my queens crown to the bidding.

Yeah, it's funny, some people get upset when they don't get bids in the middle time of the auction, but the reason for the middle time is so that more people can find it, regardless of whether they bid when they find it or at the end. So many people think longer auction = more moolah.

I'm also going to have a half hour rule in place near the end to prevent bid sniping. If someone bids in the last half hour of the auction, the auction will be extended another half hour.

I figured you'd do something like that :) But it's always the smart thing to do :)
Gives more time for people to get enough gold.
I'm just hell bent on winning :)

Yeah anti snipe rules just make things more fair, and hopefully eliminate any hard feelings between bidders. What do you guys think of the end time? Is noon okay or should it be later in the evening in case people have school or work? :x

Well, noon for me is after school.
0___< HmmI think in the afternoon would be good.
Some time after 2:30 pm but before 5pm?

It's hard to plan end dates when people live in different time zones. ^^; In the end, it's generally best to go with a time that you can be online conveniently.

Indeed. Sometime I'm going to run an auction where I'm offering one piece per timezone. That would be fun. XD

Be a bit hard to check if people are legitimately claiming which timezone they're in though. :0

(Unless you mean having possible winners for each end time in a different time zone. That would be hard to orchestrate, but it'd be interesting to see. ^^)

Hmmm yeah, that would be tough. ;_; It would be entertaining though! I may do it after this one. :3 I'm thinking doing 3 auctions for souped up versions of what I'm doing in my art shop, but with custom background and full on cell shading instead of just flat monochrome color.

That sounds like a good idea. ^^ Or you can always make them "bribe only" slots too if you have enough interest in your shop.

Don't burn yourself out though if you do a bunch of auctions. :3

Yeah, been there done that with pretty much every art shop I opened on gaia. I would get grand ideas for every commission and then I'd get too stressed and give up on all of them. So this time, I've only been auctioning off things that are quick, simple, and fun for me to do. Where the fun level is greater than my stress/perfectionism level. XD

I would say, moderately good afternoon. I just had to bring my cats inside because of all the ash in the air from the california fires. ;_; Everything outside of my house has a fine black coating now.

Aw man. o__o; I heard about all the devastation those fires have caused, it's crazy. Even our local paper (up in Washington) reported about it, since I guess one million people are displaced from their homes already.

Yeah, luckily the fires aren't by me this time, but a lot of friends I have down in SD and Malibu are being displaced. ;_; Still, the ash/smoke in the atmosphere makes for gorgeous sunsets. Destruction can be way too beautiful.

You know, that makes me wonder if it's affecting us up north as well. o__o My mom made a comment that the sunset was gorgeous, and considering that ash from Mt. St. Helen's eruption blew all the way to New York, I wouldn't be surprised.

That's good that you're safe, but it's unfortunate for your friends and the many others. D: I'm glad they're organizing ways to keep property safe from looters at least though.

My aunts ,cousins, and uncles lived by Mt. Saint Helen's when it exploded.

She had a SHIT load of ash around her house, in && out.
It was wild.
