See Jack was a pumpkin, and Scary a corpse. And though their marriage once strong, soon turned to divorce.
They argued their case before the Devil’s highest court, bickering and jeering till Lucifer did snort,
“She blames him and he blames her, but you are both at fault I most assure!
Your squabbles have resulted in my splitting head, so you I won’t split, but join instead!
Forever and ever you will you travel the land, with one head on shoulders and one in hand!
For it is true that in death you both did start, but it is in death, I’m afraid, you do no part!”
A harsh decree, you must agree.
For two lovers once fed by passion’s fire, now consumed by an eternal ire.
And thus ends our story of Jack and Scary. Now won’t you think twice before you get married?
