The Taken

An evil group of pokemon trainers that is always trying to 'take over the world' has once again made a move to use pokemon for their own evil ends. This time they decided the easiest way was to simply turn all other people into pokemon so they could then use pokeballs and other such things to control them. After all they have been forcing pokemon to obey them for decades, if they become the only humans then of course they'd be in control. To this end they captured trainers and their prized pokemon for their evil genetic experiments. It seemed such a simple plan and like everything was going well but of course it ended up being far more complicated then expected.

The experiment attempted to transform the human by mimicking one of their favorite pokemon but instead it fused their dna together! The trainers became strange hybrid creatures that were neither human nor pokemon and could not be controlled. The hybrids were deemed a failure and they were to be destroyed. One of them, however, had discovered a few of his pokemons latent memories and used it to teleport the hybrids away to a place they would be safe. He was mortally wounded in the attempt and the Alakazham hybrid died but he successfully managed to teleport the others to a strange place ruled by pokemon called 'The Hidden Valley'.

Humans have never entered it as the pokemon within have used their powers to keep them out. They can not allow the hybrids to leave and show the humans the Valley's location, and see the hybrids as little more then humans with powers. The hybrids must now figure out how to survive in this jungle valley filled with pokemon that do not trust them... and some pokemon who are even so wild they would kill the hybrids with little thought. Good luck dear hybrids!

The Hidden Valley

The jungle is wild and thick, filled with thousands of pokemon! It has never been discovered by man so all one can hear is the sound of various bird pokemon singing and the rustling of small rodent pokemon through the brush. The air is hot and moist, with a sky that always seems to threaten rain. The trees are filled with fruits and it seems truly a paradise. At the center is a large lake while the rest is surrounded by a circle of unbroken mountains. It seems as if nature itself has closed this place off from the rest of the world and even time itself.

Eyes closed tight, Gemini felt herself land, but not where she expected. The girl- or was she a Pokemon now?- had expected to be destroyed. Instead, she landed on soft grass. She cracked one eye open to find herself, along with all the other experiments, sitting beside a beautiful crystaline lake, surrounded on all sides by trees and the sounds of Pokemon. Looking for the source of this miracle, Gemini spotted a male who had been fused with his Alakazam not far away. He seemed hurt. She stood up on shaky legs and headed for him. "Hey...mister? Are you the one who brought us here? Hey, are you alright?" She asked. Even being almost an adult, Gemini still acted naive and innocent like a child. She spoke that way, as well. As far as she could tell, an Alakazam would be the only one in the group that could manage a teleportation of such magnitude. "M-mister...? Hey...hey,someone help!! He's hurt bad!" She said, raising her voice to address the other experiments around her. Maybe one of them could help.

The Arcanine hybrid grunted lightly and opened his eyes. He was laying on soft grass, and the sounds of pokemon were all around, as well as a voice calling for help. It took him a few moments to sit up, his stomach had felt as if it had flipped upside down and inside out. Teleportation. It wasn't really a way he wanted to travel again, still it had saved them. He glanced around for a moment at the others before slowly getting to his feet, ears twitching, slightly and Haru moved towards the Vulpix hybrid. His blood ran cold for a moment as he neared her and the one that had teleported them. He was hurt bad and Haruki wasn't even sure the other was still alive.

As he moved past her, he dropped his hand onto the Vulpix hybrid's head gently. A reassuring pat on the head and then he was kneeling next to the Alakazham hybrid. He reached out to place two fingers against the other's neck, feeling for a pulse. When he didn't feel one, he moved those two fingers to rest just beneath the other's nose to feel for a breath, there was none. Just to be certain he placed a hand on the male's chest to feel for a heartbeat, the skin beneath him was slowly growing cold and he shook his head. He reached up to gently slip the Alakazham's eyelids closed and stood. Turning to face the Vulpix hybrid he shook his head again. "I'm sorry little lady, he's gone." His tone was solemn, and quiet.

Quote:
Elanora 'Ella' Valery
The white haired woman shivered as she awoke, instantly whispering the name Kora. She soon found the one she was calling attached to a long tail and had grabbed onto the other woman's waist. She trembled as the other woman sat up and shushed her, only to seem to calm as Kora stroked her hair. She had been so frightened. Living without her twin was scarier for her then dying she realized in that split second before she'd found her sister had awoken. Still, it was alright now. Kora would protect her, Kora would make everything better like she always did. She could survive... as long as Kora did.

The lighter half of the two peeked around her twin then to watch the vulpix who was crying out about a wound. She could sense nothing left in the other psychic hybrid... it was emptier then trying to sense a dark type trying to hide itself. No, she didn't have to approach to know the man was dead. Tears began to fall down her face and she buried her face in the skirt like scarf the other woman wore around her waist as she cried silently. It was strange, how she never seemed to make a sound. The whisper of kora had likely been the first sound she'd spoken at all since they had been captured.

Quote:
Korayne 'Kora' Valery
Kora awoke a moment after her sister, the sound of such a plaintive whisper so very familiar. She opened sapphire blue eyes to stare out at their match as she sat up. She smiled faintly, a soft reassurance and love in her eyes as she sat up to hold her sister. She spoke to her both physically and telepathically to show she was alright as her tail wrapped around a familiar slender waist. As she raised those eyes to peer at the others they become instantly colder then ice, no expression on her face. She continued to stroke her dear sister's hair as she watched the group in thought.

"We should probably bury him then get to gathering supplies and figuring out a place to stay. I smell rain." She said absently, as if she could care less that the other had died. She did feel a bit of gratitude, he had saved Ella after all, but she would not show it. No... her sister always wore her heart on her sleeve and seemed to feel more then any other two people could so Kora kept any burdens to herself. It would have only added to her sisters tears and she would do nothing that could cause that. Ella was the only one who saw good in the cold, calculating mind that was in Kora's nature from birth. It had surprised no one would Ella's and Kora's shiny eevee's had evolved into such apposing creatures.

The young hybrid looked up at the man, and tears started rolling down her cheeks. "Oh, no...but we didn't even get to thank him." She said, wiping her cheeks. She looked around and saw two girls, one Umbreon and one Espeon who were obviously twins. the Espeon girl was crying as well, but the Umbreon girl was stone cold silent. "If we bury him, then that will be like saying thank you, right? 'Cause he saved us." She said with a sniffle.

Haru let his hand fall on the Vulpix's head again, then dropped to her shoulder to give it a reassuring squeeze. "No, we didn't get to thank him, but I'm sure he already knows how much we appreciate his selfless act." Those eyes shifted from the young girl before him to the two that had woken up. One with ice in her eyes, and the other seemed upset. He didn't really like the cold look in the Umbreon's eyes or the casual way she had spoken about burying and gathering supplies, but he said nothing about it. He let his attention return to the Vulpix. "There's many reasons to bury him, but yes, it can be a way of thanking him I suppose." He let his hand drop from the girl's shoulder, and glanced around, looking for something to dig with. His heart was heavy for the Alakazham hybrid, but Haru shed no tears for him. Men didn't cry. At least in his book men didn't cry, his expression was soft though, with a bit of sadness hovering at the edges.

Quote:
Elanora 'Ella' Valery
She watched the group as they talked about burial and glanced at Kora as she made her cold comment about why she was bothering to bury the male. She expected as much from her sister, she was always so practical and she knew she was her sister's world. It was cold and sometimes made her sad but she loved her sister just the way she was. She knew her sister was only so cold and strong because she was so weak and emotional. They were night and day because they complimented each other, what one was the other wasn't so that they could always help each other. At least that was how Ella looked at it.

She could see that the male was looking for something to help bury the alakazam. She glanced around, seeing some softer earth around the. She noticed beneath a tree where there was an empty space that looked like it'd be a good place to bury the dead... and it was just far enough away from the water that they wouldn't have to worry about heavy rains interacting with the lake to ruin the grave or absorb it into the water. She began to look around and finally noticed a small stone. A simple swift attack to chip of some of the edges and it was perfectly shovel shaped. She ignored everyone else as she got some vines and a stick. She stuck the stick into the notch she made then used the vines to tie it to the stone tighter. It would hold well enough to dig one grave anyway.

Once finished she silently went ot her sister who had stood by then. She handed the make shift shovel to Kora and then pointed at the arachnine male. She then hid behind her sister with her arms wrapped around her waist. She eyed the others nervously as if expecting criticism for her work. She was very creative, inventive, and had made many things from scratch, she just lacked confidence. She only had any real faith in herself when it came to making clothing and that was only because it was for her sister because Kora loved her fashion design so much.

Quote:
Korayne 'Kora' Valery
"Of course, why do you think I'm bothering to bury a stranger otherwise." She said simply as she gazed at the group. The vulpix was so innocent.... it reminded her of her sister. Of course, she could never be as perfect and delicate as her Ella but still there was a shade of that same innocence. She felt a moment of pity for the fox, as she doubted that she would survive easily on her own. If others died it would make Ella cry... perhaps they should all work together then, though if they hurt Ella like so many had before she'd feed them to any predator pokemon here herself. She came to the decision quickly, her mind always being very clear and quick..... creepy to most sure, but clear.

"Still, his one for all tact does make sense in a way.... we don't know who is working with that team so we can't just go into any ol' town even if we figure a way out of here and wild pokemon can be savage. Alone we all have our vulnerabilities, as humans and as pokemon. When we made our teams we knew to balance types, strengths, and weaknesses.... considering our position we need to do the same now. For now we should work together. Anyone disagree?" She said crisply, her tone concise and clear. She was doing this as a tactician, not as a scared kid like many might have expected her to be. She may have continued to stare them down and wait for an answer but she felt her sister come close. She took the shovel from her and gave her a smile, making a 'come hither' type motion with a finger. Her sister cuddled into her as expected and she turned back to the others.

"My sister wanted to help because she's thankful for his sacrifice. The shovel won't hold up forever but it will last long enough to dig into the soft earth below that tree." She said, clearly speaking for her sister as she held out the shovel to the male. He seemed to be looking for a tool to dig so she considered him having volunteered. She saw no reason to stop someone willing to dig and considered it wise. She would feel safer if she was on watch, she could sense too much shuffling through the shadows. They were being watched by pokemon, of that she was certain. Her sister suddenly burrowed into her shoulder and silently confirmed that the espeon hybrid also sensed that those in the jungle had noticed them. It was probably hard not to she imagined...

Haru scratched the back of his head lightly as Kora spoke. "Even if we did know who was working with them, I still don't think it'd be a good idea to just waltz up in the middle of town. I mean, we might freak people out, lookin' the way we do an' all." He gestured to himself, as his bushy tail drooped just the slightest bit and his ears twitched. His attention was mostly on the twins though, watching as one of them broke from the other to fashion together what appeared to be a makeshift shovel. He was impressed with the cleverness and imagination it took to come up with something like that out of just some rock and sticks and vines. He never would've thought of that. In fact he had been ready to start digging with his hands.

"Working together seems a very sound idea to me." When the shovel was being offered to him, Haruki didn't hesitate in accepting it. The females could probably have handled it themselves, but why should they need to when he was here and more than capable of doing it for them? Besides, it wasn't really the kind of thing a woman should do anyway, two of them were already upset they probably wouldn't have been able to handle it emotionally. The other. She seemed rather cold and practical on the surface, she might be able to handle such a thing emotionally better than the other to. It didn't matter. He was doing it, so they wouldn't have to.

Shovel in hand, he hefted it a few times to get a feel for it's weight and maybe determine how fragile it might be. "It's a good shovel." He spoke the compliment with a slight smile towards the twin that had made it, then he moved to the spot with the soft soil and began to dig. He wanted to dig it deep, so nothing would dig the Alakazham up again, or so a heavy rain wouldn't wash it out.

Gemini nodded and stood up. She watched in amazement as the Espeon girl made a shovel out of a rock and vines. The Umbreon girl was making her nervous, with her cold words, but she did make a good point. "Working together does seem more practical. After all, who else do we have? I wish we knew more about ourselves, though." Her ears drooped a little as she said it. "I mean, do we know all the attacks our Pokemon did? Do we have all their memories? Will we be able to learn more attacks? And what about evolving? I'm still just a Vulpix...am I still human enough to stay that way, or will I evolve at some point?" The questions had been bothering her since the experiments had been done on them. She noticed that she was the only one there who was still pre-evolution.

Elanora 'Ella' Valery
"Th...thank you..." Ella muttered to the man as he complimented her work. Her voice was a near whisper as she spoke, as if she wasn't' really use to talking. She honestly wasn't really... a fact that often kept her from debuting as a prima ballerina when she was human. Not that it really mattered, she had preferred journeying around the world with her pokemon and her sister anyway. She wished she knew what had become of her other pokemon....the knock out gas had ensured she didn't see what was done with her bag or them. Still, what she wanted to know even more at that moment was what would happen to this assortment of part pokemon people.

As she heard the other woman speak she glanced towards her and managed a small smile as if glad they were all sticking together. Everyone would be safer if they were together.... happier too according to Ella. She had a phobia of being alone so always thought it was the worst thing in the universe and didn't want anyone to have to suffer it. So with a nod of satisfaction the silent girl walked to sit on a rock where she could watch the man dig. Every few minutes she would glance towards her sister, however, as if to make sure she hadn't disappeared. Their recent experiences had her even more uncertain, even more afraid she'd lose her sister again as she had once as a child. She'd been separated in a thick forest after a pokemon attack when they were only around five years old and then fallen into a small hole probably dug by a dugtrio that had been abandoned near their town by a trainer. It had taken them several hours to find her, half frozen and crying at the bottom of the hole with a twisted ankle. Once they got her out her sister made her promise to never go out of her sight and said in return she'd make sure Ella was never alone or lost again. The butterflies on their ankles were a symbol of that promise they had done years later to show they still remembered their promise.

She knew that her sister would never break her promise but she still felt that fear if she wasn't within arms length. She had a reason for wanting to be over here, however, and waiting until the digging was done. She wanted to make sure the body was placed just right and more importantly that no one got the blood all over them any ore then needed. She had a telepathic bond with her sister from birth so this new psychic power came more easily to her then it may have to others. She had already figured out her telekisis and she would use it to lower the body into the grave once it was finished. In the meantime she turned to her sister and nodded at her as the vulpix asked about powers as if to communicate some message. Half the time she didn't have to even use their link, her sister just knew her that well, but right now she did briefly.

Quote:
Korayne 'Kora' Valery
"If we find a fire stone we can try it out and we'll see if you evolve." She responded at first, momentarily pulled out of her inner thoughts. She hadn't thought about that... then again thinking was usually her sister's job, she was the brawn and ella the brains. It had always been that way, even when she'd first studied martial arts and shown herself a bit of a prodigy. She seemed to have the instinct to keep up with a fighting type pokemon even if her human body had been unable to. Still, unless it came to creating new martial arts moves or fighting strategy or pokemon combos she was a dud. She just didn't think about things except as they related to fighting or her sister, they either related to those things so were important or they didn't and they weren't. Still, it was an interesting question. Just how much were they like the pokemon?

As always her sister seemed to chime in with an answer. Yes, her sister was already rather espeon like with her almost psychic impressions and their telepathic link always felt stronger on her end, but now they were almost indistinguishable. She had already used swift and had discovered telekinesis too. She had only been able to lift things she could with her hand before but it was getting stronger and this place seemed to make her feel stronger. Perhaps there'd been something surpressing her powers back at the facility they were kept in? Yes, her sister was making good points as always... even if she didn't have the confidence to speak them and instead wished for her too.

"I do know we've become very much like our pokemon... My sister has already found she 'knew' swift just like her espeon did when she wanted to cut through a rock and has been exploring telekinesis. We probably all have a piece of our pokemon's minds hidden in us along with their dna. So we know or at least can learn the four attacks they knew and may have powers related to their types and such....right now we need to worry more about finding food and shelter. There might be caves somewhere but there's likely pokemon in there that may not take too kindly to us and may attack us on instinct due to our similarity to pokemon. So I'll build us a shelter for now, i did for me and my sister sometimes when we got caught unexpectedly between towns so it won't take me long. There's more then enough wood and leaves. One of you fire types can start a fire once that's done. So now we just need volunteers to gather fruit for food or catch fish."

She spoke firmly, leaving little room for argument. She fell into the leadership role naturally as she often had before. It was just natural considering she was the type to keep her head when everyone else was panicking, that and she was a survivalist out of desire to make sure her sister was always safe and would never be lost or hungry again. The fruit here all seemed to be of various kinds safe to eat..... it would be easy to survive. So how come there wasn't any signs of a settlement? Why hadn't pokemon approached yet and instead just watched? Her instincts didn't like this, not one bit. It was as if the pokemon were studying them somehow...

Haruki only smiled and nodded when the girl accepted his compliment with a shy word of gratitude before setting about the task at hand. He listened silently as the others spoke about powers and evolving while he dug the hole. He had nothing to offer to the conversation, and his mind was preoccupied with other thoughts. He was thinking of his pokemon, and he missed them more deeply than he cared to admit, and it filled him with anger. Haru grit his teeth and dug the hole rather fiercely, fueled by aggression and adrenaline. It was a productive way to get that aggression out, and it did add to the speed at which he dug the hole. Still it would take thirty or so minutes before the hole was ready, or rather, the shovel finally broke under his, quickly growing rougher by the minute, way of handling it.

He wiped sweat from his brow with a forearm and leaned against the tree. His body covered in a thin sheen of sweat and he was panting slightly. Haruki was frowning down at the hole. It was deep enough, but he wasn't satisfied with it, he had been working his aggression out by digging it, now he couldn't dig anymore and still had some aggression in him. He tried to force away the thoughts that made him so angry, but that was very difficult, when all he had to do was look around at the other experiments to cause that anger to come flooding back. A sigh passed his lips and he crossed his arms across his chest, the remains of the shovel laying by his feet.

Haru would have liked for the shovel to last a little longer, if only to use to cover the hole back up with. Still, pushing the dirt into the hole wouldn't be very difficult without a shovel. He had planned on resting his muscles for just a few minutes before lifting the body into the hole, but someone had beaten him to it. Just as he was leaning against the tree, the body was picked up. Mostly likely by the Espeon girl, using some psychic ability or other to move the body and lay it rather delicately into the hole. As if she wanted it in there just right. It made him smile again, and he watched her for a few moments.

She could probably use her telekinesis to move the dirt over the hole, but Haru wasn't about to ask. Until they knew the limits and the amount of energy it took to use these powers of theirs, it would be best to not accidentally overexert themselves. He decided he would begin to cover the hole up, once he'd rested a little longer. His ears twitched, and his fluffy tail swished this way and that for a moment, he could hear other pokemon, just watching them. Rustling in the trees and underbrush around them.

He longed for pokeballs on his belt and his trusted team of pokemon. It was enough to make his heart ache, but he only smiled at the Espeon girl, then looked at the others. He wondered who would fish and who would gather food, but was it safe enough to go gathering for food? Probably, as long as no one went too far.

Gemini nodded. The Umbreon girl made sense, and it did seem like they would have plenty of time later to learn more about their powers. For now, it would be best to focus on gathering food and shelter. She watched in amazement as the Espeon girl used her psychic abilities to life the body into the grave. She wondered if she would be able to use her Pokemon's powers that way. She missed her little Vulpix deeply. Her tails drooped at the thought.

A rustling came from the bushes near the group. At first it seemed like a Pokemon was finally coming forward, but then a young man stepped out of the brush. He bore a striking resemblance to a Zorua, and he was carrying a whole giant basket of berries. "Oh...everyone's awake. I went to get some food for everybody. I'm Todd, by the way. Todd Hunter." He said cautiously. He wasn't sure how the others would react to him, so he looked down at his feet shyly and held out the berry basket.

Voices. And light. Riley Cameron woke slowly, taking in the sounds around him. There were voices, and sounds of Pokemon in the woods. Where was he? He sat up slowly and looked around. There were...five others around like him. Two girls, an Umbreon and an Espeon, a male Arcanine, a young female Vulpix and a young male Zorua. All hybrids like himself. He noticed the grave and the Alakazam hybrid being lowered into it, and figured out what must have happened. "What...where are we?" He asked. Always a man of few words, Riley only spoke when he had to, and then he kept his sentences short and to the point.

Elanora 'Ella' Valery
Ella seemed to sense the anger in the other and gave him an understanding look. She didn't speak but simply stood and reached over one slender white hand to place it gently on his shoulder. She hesitated but did manage to do so, the simple touch a gesture of comfort even if she wasn't so sure if he'd understand it. It was so much easier to communicate with her sister then others, where a simple touch was enough to communicate everything. She found herself frightened after the touch, however, as usual that he would get mad at her. The experiments had taken the already shy girl and made her terrified. She fled back towards her sister a couple seconds after she touched the archinine male.

She hugged her sister around the waist a moment and peered at the two newly speaking. Two more males had spoken up. She wasn't ever very sure about men in particular..... which of course just encouraged the belief that she was a lesbian that many held from her interactions with her sister. She didn't really have those sort of feelings for her sister, people were just scary but her sister was safe and strong and sweet. She didn't care that she stuttered or was afraid. So she stayed next to her sister and simply glanced at the food. She was hungry...but she felt afraid to approach.

Still, as the thought of her hunger went through her she felt her sister touch her hand. It was a simple gesture but she knew what it meant. She let go of Kora and soon was pushed forward gently towards the basket. She hesitated but slowly stepped forward. She murmured a soft 'Thank you' to the zorua with a bit of a stutter and took the basket. She would double check that all of them were safe to eat but also paused at certain berries. What region were they in? None of this matched their prior location. Three of these weren't even suppose to grow in the same region together. Strange... still they were all safe and edible. She ate a handful before she sat it on a rock near where she knew Kora would likely set up camp. It would be easy for everyone to reach it there... With that she smiled and nodded before she began to clean up the camp site and prepare a place for a fire. She couldn't light it with her powers, one of the fire types could though.

Quote:
Korayne 'Kora' Valery
"Call me Kora. My beautiful sister is named Elanora" She said her own introduction in response to todd's but it was slightly brisk. When she spoke of her sister though she seemed to grow softer and she winked towards her sister who blushed. It was easy to see why many of the people they ran into mistakenly thought the girls incestuous. Kora being Kora encouraged it, both to keep those who may break her sisters heart away from the girl and also simply because she found it funny. Psyching out others had always been a talent of hers... It helped her in her mixed martial arts matches now and then, too. Her little personally created style of martial arts she called the moon style won mainly on its speed and efficiency, it didn't really need it. Still, psyching out the opponent did make it faster when she didn't feel like dealing with someone who was weaker then her. Ella had asked her why once and she had simply said because she felt it better to crush a person quickly rather then give them false hope. At that moment, however, she wasn't psyching out anyone but just showing them the most obvious part of her..... the cold but fair tactician.

"As to where we are, not a clue. My sister found three berries who aren't know to be able to grow together in any discovered region that we know of..." She answered the lucario, though she didn't say how exactly she knew. They would figure out how she and her sister quickly enough just watching them she was sure. She turned then to gather various materials and soon was making small lean-to style structures for each of the hybrids though one slightly larger one was for her sister and her to share. They were sturdy and quick from her practice prior. As she did so she looked at the leaves now and then, avoiding those she didn't recognize though none seemed poisonous. One or two of the plants were unknown to her and even her sister.

For a moment she thought perhaps she had simply forgotten but the shape of some of the plants was rather star like and distinct. Such a shape so similiar to her sister's sun-star symbol she would have remembered. Even in books she had not seen that plant. Could they really be in some undiscovered region? One completely untouched by man? The thought of this had Kora for once in her life a little worried. It would explain why the pokemon didn't seem to be comfortable enough with human like beings to come out, they'd never seen humans. This was not their native Johto, or even Kanto, hoenn or any other region the twins had been to or read about. Where were they indeed...

Todd, being the naturally shy individual he was, lapsed into silence and blushed when the Espeon girl thanked him. He mumbled a small "no problem" that no one probably heard, and glanced around the camp. So, nobody knew where they were. Could there really be a place that humans had never been to? A place just for Pokemon? The thought made him nervous, but also a little excited. He wondered if there were Pokemon there that humans hadn't discovered yet. But then, why would it matter to him? He could never be a trainer again.

Riley watched the other hybrids carefully. This place was so strange, with plants he had never seen and berries that shouldn't have been able to be together, and Pokemon that didn't jump out at you. He slowly stood up and looked at his hands- well, they were paws now. That was the most disturbing thing about the whole situation. Forget that they were in a place as of yet unidentified. What were they? What was he? He clearly wasn't human anymore. But he couldn't rightfully be called a Pokemon, either. Shaking off these thoughts, the Lucario hybrid focused on the Umbreon girl. She seemed to be the stronger twin, and the voice of both. They had an odd relationship, but somehow he felt that it was not what it seemed. Their auras didn't- wait. Their auras? Riley blinked and shook his head. No, it was definitely not a trick. Everyone, and everything around him had a glow. Varying colors made the whole world seem brighter. And somehow he just simply knew what the colors meant. Was this what his Lucario had experienced every day? "Pardon me for asking, but...has anyone else noticed that they can do things they could not before?" He asked. He had to know if it was just him.

Akihiko is a very late sleeper. If everyone else had woken up before him, he will wake up about twenty minutes later. This time though, he had woken up ten minutes later because he had slept on cold hard ground. The Luxray hybrid groggily looked around to see what in the world was going on. I'm in a cave, he thought. The hybrid quickly sat up and stretched like nothing special or majorly important happened which caused a couple of other Pokemon hybrids to give him a dirty look. The hybrid noticed their glares and roughly stood up as he wiped his jeans then began to scratch his head. Aki yawned once more, "I feel like none of you... 'beings' like me being here." He chuckled at his little pun, or what he assumed that was a pun and continued. "So I'll be off now, what a shame for you all to be no longer be basked beneath my presence," He shuffled out of the cave in disappointment that he was actually alone without anybody to rely on, but he started to go search for others that will help him out and he would them

Aki didn't really remember all that much about what had happen during the experiments because he had blocked all of it out. He supposed it was because it was traumatizing, but he did remember about being transported here and another hybrid with bright blue eyes and snow white hair that disappeared before him. The hybrid walked around some more until he saw a pair of twin hybrids, an Arcanine hybrid, a Vulpix, Lucario, and a Zorua. Maybe these people are working together? he wondered. He decided that he should just greet himself, until at the corner of his eye was a girl with white hair hiding in the bush who could possibly be knocked out. Before Akihiko could approach the group, he grabbed the girl out of the bush and flung her over his shoulder who happened to be still alive and surprisingly not awake yet.

Natsumi dreamed of being stuck at home and watching good ol' Doctor Who on her tv with her beloved pokemon. They were Volcarona, Leafeon, Chimchar, Glameow, Luxio, and Starly. It was a very good day because today was the 50th Anniversary episode and she couldn't help but feel her fangirlism leaking out. As soon as the episode started, there was a sudden earthquake. The walls of her house shattered and her pokemon poofed into thin air. The girl's hair suddenly turned from black to white and her chocolate brown eyes changed into bright blue orbs. Before she started to scream, she heard the words echo in the darkness saying, "My gosh, she's fat."

The Volcarona hybrid slowly began to wake up and the first thing she noticed was how the ground was moving under her. She frowned and then the ground stopped moving. She heard the same exact voice again. "Uh, what's going on here? I'm Akihiko and I found this girl unconscious in a nearby bush," Natsumi thought to herself, This boy is so awkward right now.

The light touch of one of the twins had brought him from his angry thoughts, when he glanced at her she had a look of understanding on her face and Haru actually blushed a bit. Looking rather sheepish for a few moments. The comforting hand on his shoulder was a welcome thing though, but just as quick the girl was rushing from him. She was so timid, and the way she hid behind her twin was so very adorable. Haru shook his head lightly to shake the thoughts from them, and blinked. More hybrids approached, and it made him wonder how many of them were there?

Still at least one of them had brought food. His ears twitched and he reached up to tug at one, he hadn't really examined himself or given too much thought to what he could or couldn't do as compared to what his pokemon could do. He was sure that he had a weakness to water though, as the thoughts of water types being in the lake nearby made him feel uneasy. He tugged that ear again and then let it go. Head tilting to the side slightly, as the fact that some of the found berries shouldn't even grow near each other had been stated.

He moved over to the gathered berries and picked a few at random, then popped them into his mouth. They tasted alright to him, maybe a little weird, but alright. He glanced at the twins, well now that they had introduced themselves he couldn't just think of them as 'the twins'. Well, he could, but that'd be impolite, even if it was in his own head.

Haru shook his head to push the thoughts away and noticed the Vulpix girl. Her tails drooped, she looked a little sad. She probably missed her pokemon, he missed his so deeply and he assumed that the others did to. "My name is Haruki, but you guys can just call me Haru." His voice held a rather friendly tone to it, after all he had no reason to be un-friendly to these people.

He grabbed a few more berries and walked towards the Vulpix. "Don't worry, here, eat something it'll help perk you right up." Haru smiled gently at her and grabbed one of her hands so he could lightly drop the berries in it. He dropped his hand gently on the top of her head, the way people often did to small children. Then he was walking away towards the water, digging that grave had made him very thirsty.

Kneeling by the water he peered at it closely. It looked so clean, he had seen clean lakes and rivers before, but this one just looked cleaner than those. He dipped a hand in it. Nice and cool the way fresh water should be. He cupped both hands together and brought water up to his lips. He drank deeply a few times. It was crisp and cool and so very refreshing. "Ahh." Yup. That had hit the spot. Now there was still the matter of using a fire attack to light a fire, but Haru had been avoiding doing something like that.

What if he lost control and fire went everywhere. They would be trapped in a wild fire, the forest would burn down. Countless pokemon might die, not to mention his new friends. He shuddered lightly at the thought. Or, what if he tried and nothing happened? What if he couldn't use his Pokemon's powers at all? Though would that necessarily be a bad thing? It would certainly be better than losing control and starting a wildfire.

He drank some more of that refreshing water to try and clear his head, looking up only when someone else approached the group. A young man with a girl laid across his shoulder like she was a sack of potatoes.

((the irony with sunny's character recalling a 'girl with snow white hair and bright blue eyes' is there's three xD lol, hers and my pokemon.... unless I make the twins have dark violet hair which i'm considering changing it too. Votes?))

Quote:
Elanora 'Ella' Valery
Ella absently observed the zorua was almost as shy as she was but didn't say anything. She didn't know what use there would be in saying some observation or trying to put him at ease. She wasn't good at doing that, just at being close. Her sister always told her she could do just as well just being there but she figured her sister was just being kind. Her sister was always kind to her. Even starting to lead this mis-matched, strange group was being a kindness to her. Kora was not one for people anymore then Ella herself but Kora always did what she couldn't and Ella did what Kora couldn't. It had always been that way. What wasn't Kora or kora's was Ella, and what wasn't Ella was Kora. It was the union of their own little world they had carefully constructed, though for the first time it seemed others were now a part of that world now and for once the two could not avoid it.

As she thought of this one of the group in question spoke to ask a question. She bit her lip and glanced to her sister who had already began to build more of the constructs as if expecting more arrivals. She wanted to go cling to her, so she would speak for her. She didn't want to answer, but at the same time she sensed new people approaching and it was just one word. She bit her lip, almost enough to draw blood. One word... her sister could explain the rest. She took a deep breath, those brilliant blue eyes going to the ground.

"Yes.... M-m-move things...S-s-s-sense someone's c-c-c-oming too." She responded slowly. She stuttered and stumbled over each word but shortly after she spoke the two new comers would arrive. She was watching the direction she came as she spoke telepathically to her sister. She couldn't help but speak slightly frantically as her panic threatened. There were just too many people.... and part of her always worried she would be hurt again. The only reason she had been able to fight before were her pokemon and they were all gone now.... except for the fragment of a memory that was her espeon in her. Now only Kora was left, only her mirror the reverse of herself. She moved quickly to stand next to her sister, clinging to the others slender waist once again as she watched the new arrivals.

Quote:
Korayne 'Kora' Valery
"We do have the dna of pokemon in us now, it would be only natural that we'd have something new abilities. We may even know their attacks. My talented sister already used swift and used telekinesis, of course nothing escapes that keen mind of hers so she would be the first." She responded, her tone warm and glowing as she spoke about her sister. It was easy to see how people thought she was in love with her 'younger' twin sister. Kora always treated Ella as the perfect person and genuinely believed it was so. Of course Ella was a little naive and a little frail but that was why Kora was strong. So ella could stay ella, clean, pure, and gentle no matter how hard their lives had been so she didn't count it as a weakness. However, her love of her sister also meant she needed to keep this group safe too...

"Speaking of, one of you fire types need to figure out how to create a small flame. The rock barrier around the fire pit will keep it from spreading." She said simply, her tone back to it's cold and straightforward manner. She didn't really seem to care about the fire types possible worries but she seemed to have prepared for the possibility, or rather she and her sister had. The fire pit was already dug, surrounded by good sized rocks, and filled with just the right amount of kindling. They were always so careful, even when they were starting it with sticks and string. She could of course but the fire types needed to figure out their powers too.. and this was the safest way to do it. The alternative was to wait until they were under attack and under battle conditions which simply left too much to chance for her taste. She had a general idea of how many hybrids there were so there was a likelihood they'd end up with their own little village whose place in the food chain was not yet established.

Still, perhaps it would be good for Ella she thought absently as she realized that her twin was speaking aloud for the first time in ages. At the moment, however, there were already two more coming. She had suspected they would so had already built two extra lean-to's. She carved their pokemon symbol in the door, shinx and volcanrano, into the extras. In a moment she'd build two more for the possibility of more. Being prepared was always her policy after all, but for now she needed to speak to the two new arrivals. She had little to say, but it needed to be said.

"Hi.... this group here has decided to work together, pool our resources and abilities. There's two lean-to's over there if you want to join us, the one with the volcarona on the jam can be hers and you can lay her in there until she wakes up, the shinx is for yours. I'm Kora, the beautiful espeon girl would be my beloved sister Ella...." She spoke to the male shinx hybrid without any real emotion in her tone, her voice business like and crisp. After she introduced her sister who had already retreated to stand next to her she introduced haru and the others by pointing to each and saying their name. Once she had finished she looked up at the trees, already seeming to have dismissed the new comers to making their choice. The lean-to's were sturdy but she wouldn't exactly call them permanent homes. Perhaps eventually they should craft new homes in the trees..... a little treetop village... It was kinda funny to think of. Pokemon village they should call it. Still, even as she looked for sturdy trees she was mainly looking for pokemon. Perhaps they were waiting for night fall when they hybrids retreated to sleep. It would give the pokemon an advantage wouldn't it? She and her sister had cat like eyes that would allow them to see but not all the others did. The lucario may see auras and the shinx may have night vision so there would be that, but many of the others would be running blind.

((if your characters have abilities outside their attacks Sunny please pm me with them so i can approve them and add them to your profile. Thank you!)

Gemini looked up wonderingly at the Arcanine hybrid as he took her hand and handed her a berry. She was sure he didn't notice her blush when he patted her head. She looked at the berry, so juicy and ripe. She took a bite and smiled. "Thank you, Haru. It's good. Oh, I'm Gemini. Did I say that already?" She asked. He was being so nice to her. But in a way that suggested he thought of her as a child. Gemini was 18, not a child at all. She frowned at that thought and finished her berry. It was an Oran berry, she realized, and it did make her feel better. Hearing the fuss about the fire pit, she stood up and walked over to it. "I'll try. My Vulpix knew Heat Wave." She said. Perhaps it was a bit strong for just lighting a fire, but her Vulpix had been close to evolving and only knew one fire attack. Concentrating, Gemini stared at the fire. She felt a surge of heat, almost unbearable but also somehow pleasant, and then a wave of fire came from her hands or paws or whatever they were, and lit the kindling perfectly. "That's it, that was Heat Wave! I used a Pokemon move! It's almost like my Vulpix was right there with me..." She said wistfully.

Riley was both surprised and not surprised to see two more hybrids arrive. He turned his attention to the Espeon girl, who had finally spoken up. She and her sister confirmed that he was not the only one experiencing these abilities. This was further proved when the Vulpix girl lit the fire in the fire pit, using what looked like the move Heat Wave. "Interesting. I wonder how much I can tell about someone through their aura." He wondered aloud. Focusing on the Espeon girl, he saw that her aura was the color of a bruise or storm clouds. His- or, his Pokemon's- memory sparked and told him that color meant nervous. But that was it. He could tell that much by her behavior. So it was like a mood ring, then. "Interesting indeed." He repeated.

Todd walked further into the little camp area. It was taking shape quickly, with lean-to's and a fire pit. The others were discovering new powers and abilities, like their Pokemon had. He wondered it he could make illusions like his Zorua had. Focusing on the Espeon girl, who seemed closest to him in temperament, he imagined himself transforming. He looked at himself to find that he had become a male version of the girl. Still clearly a hybrid and still clearly male, but more Espeon now than Zorua. "Okay. That's strange." He muttered, and allowed himself to change back.

He sighed in relief now that he had found a group that accepted him in, "Great, thanks," he replied. Akihiro wasn't sure if this longing for a group to join in was based on him or his Luxray's instinct because Luxrays are known to wanting to find a group to belong and also protect them. The hybrid quickly brushed that thought away and decided to deal with that later because dealing with it now seemed to be a bit of a hassle at this moment. Before Akihiro could literally drop the unconscious girl like a sack of potatoes into the lean-to that the woman, Kora, had designated the girl to, the Volcarona quickly hopped off of him in a very 'easy breezy Covergirl' kind of way. Not literally, but he couldn't resist on describing how he hopped off of him because she truly did hop of him very smoothly. The Volcarona hybrid dusted herself off like she had played in dirt and bowed. The Luxray raised a brow at how peculiar this girl is.

Natsumi looked around at her surroundings once more and noticed there were more hybrids than she expected. Then she stopped herself, where WAS she? She took a deep breath and pushed that thought to the side because she thought that more questions would lead to more time to explain things and then that would lead to less time to do things that would help everyone survive. She gave a little wave, "Now, I think I was unconscious for many things but I will figure that out later. I'm Natsumi and I hope I get along with you all." then she added a little cheeky grin at the end.

((Will do! And I think you should keep the colors and hair, it brings out an air of mystery to see who Akihiro saw :D))

Haruki watched the others, ears twitching so that he could catch the conversation almost easily. He reached up to tug at one of his ears again, tugging at it and gently rubbing it between two fingers. Honestly Haru wasn't entirely sure he even liked the appendages. Clearly they were better than his human ears had been, which wasn't surprising. Pokemon seemed to have superior basic senses when compared to humans anyway. He let the ear go, and stood. His body was tense and he turned to watch the others more closely, wanting to take a few steps closer to the group.

Gemini was talking of using a fire move to make a campfire. All the worst case scenarios flashed through his mind rather rapidly and he was ready to spring forth and grab the others to pull them from harm's way if the power got out of control. He almost expected it to, though things seemed to go off without a hitch. Haruki's body relaxed and he let out a tense breath he had been holding. Perhaps it wouldn't be too difficult to use their Pokemon's moves assuming they all had some. Still the idea of not being able to fully control powers that were essentially a new thing for them kept Haru from even attempting to experiment.

He didn't want to harm the others. Not on purpose and not accidentally. He plopped back down at the water's edge, just staring out over the mostly calm surface. His thoughts veering to other things. Where exactly were they? How far were they from civilization and would other people be accepting and helpful towards them? A deep frown had set in on his face, it was an expression that didn't suit the friendly male at all.

His thoughts shifted again, moving back to their more or less original train of thought. He would have to try out using powers eventually. Perhaps sooner than later, after all, he would need to fight. Especially if he wanted to get revenge and his Pokemon. That train of thought slipped onto a different track. Were his pokemon even alright? What kind of experiments were they being subjected to, if any at all? Haruki didn't like these thoughts, and he didn't like the pang of loneliness that stabbed at his heart due to the loss of his beloved team.
