When does it start to give you profit?

Well, all you do for fishing is just fish...
for every time you fish, you'll get 1 exp
and then once you have...like 1500exp or something then you start to make a profit.
(I'm not sure of the exact exp number that gets you a profit though)
Anyway, not much, just bored out of my mind and thinking I'll probably not have any art contest entries this month...

I actually have two contest. A monthly OC (with ref images)
And a bi-monthly OC one (with no ref images)

so the bimonthly is just one that lasts 2 months..so every-other month there's a new one with no ref and then every month there's a new one with a ref image (for the monthly one).

can I join both though?

Yep. You can enter both, but you can only win one. So...yeah.
Oh, and you can't win the same contest right after winning it once...so say you won the monthly one once, then the next month if you entered the monthly, you couldn't actually win anything. (I'd probably tip though because I just do that for most art anyway) XD

I think you did a great job on that paint image, too, by the way, although I think it would look a bit nicer if you made the middle of the forehead a bit less shadowed.

On the fishing bit, I think you start making a tiny profit after about 600 experience points.

Yeah, it had been like 3 years since the last wedding I had gone to and those are the only sort of celebrations I've gone to.
