Shea moved a bit closer to get a better look.

"Anyone else getting some Harry Potter vibes off of that?" she asked. "It looks kind of like a Time Turner." She paused for a moment. "Makes you wonder what it actually does."

"It... does," Harper agreed. "I am curious to see what it does." She glanced at Desmond.

"Hey, don't look at me, I already mucked with an Apple, and look where that got me," he grumbled. "If you two want to find out, one of you touch it."

Shea glanced between the two.

"I'll touch it," she offered. "Unless you want to, Harp."

"Nope, you can go for it," Harper said, holding out the object to her. She was rather curious to see what it would do, and she wasn't expecting anything bad. Clearly Desmond wasn't either, since he was watching with anticipation too.

Shea nodded, and reached out to gently touch the object with a fingertip. At first, nothing happened, and then the little thing lit up and seemed to dissolve, swirling around the three with gold light.

When the light faded, Harper didn't think much had changed. But she quickly put the Piece back in the bag, looking around.

"The hell was that?" Desmond demanded, stepping back and looking around as well. The room they were in was still empty, but it seemed different somehow.

"Seems like a whole lot of nothing," Shea said as she looked around. She took a step back and paused when the wood creaked a bit. That was new. The flooring had been different before.

Harper looked at the floor, then the ceiling, which looked newer and brighter, and then she went over to a window. Pushing it open, she looked outside to see no street lights, and only very few lamps.

"Or more than nothing," she said quietly, letting her eyes adjust to the new level of dark outside as she scanned the area.

Shea was instantly alert, and went over to one of the windows to take a look around.

"Hey Desmond," she said slowly, "you might want to take a look at this."

Desmond moved over too and it took a few seconds, and then he started swearing. Because he knew this place, this time, this view. He knew it because he'd seen it through someone else's eyes.

"Damn. Damn damn damn."

"Translate that into English, Des," Shea said, glancing at him.

"I've been here before. Well, not me, but me through Ezio," Desmond said, looking around. "I don't know exactly when, but this is definitely his time." He started scanning the rooftops to see if said Assassin was out for a stroll that night or not.

That threw her for a moment. But only a moment.

"Come on, then," Shea said, "let's get out of here and find a better spot to camp out while we figure out what's going on. We don't want to be caught here in the morning, right?"

"No, probably not," Desmond agreed. Harper moved over to them, the Piece of Eden tied securely to her belt for the moment so they could get up on the rooftops. Desmond got up there and looked around, orienting himself again, before he headed off towards a quieter area of town that generally had empty places good enough to stay for a few days.

Shea followed, making sure to stay close. She didn't want to get separated from Harper and Desmond when she had no idea where they were.

Desmond got them to the correct district of town easily enough and started searching for an empty building for them to hang out in for a bit.

And of course they were all so distracted that no one noticed the Assassin of the time on the other side of the building they were investigating.

Ezio, of course, noticed them, and he paused his patrol to watch them from a shadowed corner. Whoever these people were, they were dressed very strangely and they moved like Assassins.

Desmond checked inside while Harper went with Shea to check outside again. Which is how she discovered Ezio. She paused for a few moments, looking at the peaked cowl and the way he crouched, and she bit back a swear. Whoops.

Shea was with her when they tripped over Ezio. She froze when she saw him, going into a bit of a defensive stance.

Ezio knew the moment they saw him, but he didn't move. As long as he didn't make any sudden movements, they weren't likely to attack him. And they were clearly Assassins, as oddly dressed as they were. They moved too well to be anything else.

Harper considered him for several moments before she shifted, relaxing a bit. He was an Assassin, he clearly had seen them, so far no one was making any sudden moves. And she was pretty sure she could outrun him if she had to, if he did decide to attack.

"I think we need Desmond in on this," she murmured to Shea, though she didn't take her eyes off of Ezio. "Unless you think I should try talking to him."

"Desmond might recognize him," Shea pointed out. "I'll go get him." Because shouting for Desmond seemed like a really bad idea, although leaving Harper alone with the unfamiliar Assassin wasn't much better. Carefully, she crept away to go get their third. "Des? Desmond, come here."

Ezio watched them carefully. They were speaking an unfamiliar language, one seemingly so unrelated to Latin that he couldn't piece their words together. He shifted his weight slightly as one of the women moved away, but he didn't try to follow yet.

Desmond looked over at her and moved over. "What happened?" he asked, because something had to have happened for her to have that tone of voice. Hopefully it wasn't anything bad.

"We picked up a follower," Shea said. "You might want to take a look." She tilted her head slightly to where the unfamiliar Assassin was still crouched.

Desmond moved over to take a better look and then swore. "Ezio," he said to her under his breath. He moved over next to Harper, looking at the other Assassin still.

"Peace, Brother. We mean you no harm."

Ezio was a bit surprised to suddenly hear his language spoken so well. It was accented, yes, but clear.

"I was not expecting to meet any others tonight," he replied cautiously. "Although, I suspect, neither were you, Brother."
