Can anyone tell me how this event actually works.

When the event starts out there will be a FAQ. And the events usually differ, so we really never know what is going to happen.
=)

So they'll tell us what we are doing once it starts, alright. I wasn't sure if there was a page I missed that explained what to do.

This will be my first event I'm in, so I'm excited ^_^

Is this an event that I should have savied up a lot of gold for?

Well, the gold is only for the common release.

We like our commons, yes we do.

Do the event commons usually cost a lot, or do you think I should be pretty good for now.

Well, they don't cost a ton, it is just they come in mass. There might be items that cost anywhere from 100-700 gold, but there are like 7 pages of items.

Hatake is correct. ;) Your 2000+ gold will get you a lot of new items, but I wouldn't spend any of your gold until the event starts and you can see what items there are. That way you get half-priced items. (So the 200 gold pair of pants you like during the event becomes 400 gold after the event.)

Ok, so they will go into the shops after the event but at double the price?
And is there really that many pages of items that come out Hatake o.o
