[As a prewarning for readers, there will be textual violence and gore in this RP. So no complaining. Its not as bad as that horror movie you watched last night anyhow!]

Medaline Lectix, otherwise known as Meddy, stood amongst the graduates that had finished the academy, but she stood unique in that she had been the first to ever graduate the academy at the first final graduation exam she took, along with a few other children. No-one else had never managed it so those on their second year were somewhat astonished at this small group managing such an astounding feat.
As for Meddy, her ridiculously laid back attitude and lack of attention in class were matched by her extraordinary talent in battle. She hated the details, the didn't care what they sent her way she would get into a brawl and come out on top, her weapon of choice was a long rifle that she handled with such ease as if it were just a small pistol and the blade sitting under the barrel of the gun ran all the way to the tip and was used quite effectively to tear through the training summons she was often pitted against.
But being able to also finish the written exam with enough of a pass so she would not be sent back was something of an irritation to the more 'hard-earned' students, for even though the others were all grade A students, the laid back, hyperactive attitude problem that was Meddy managed to pass just barely with an average grade of C int he written test. Turns out she did pay 'some' attention to her classes. She and the others were leaving their entire year behind as they had all failed to meet the expectations of the High Paladin Anderson that ran the school.
Overall, thanks to Meddy's Grade S combat skills she had a final grade of B. The regular human children of the small groups year were still ranked at D. Others at C. But the expectations of a Holy Warrior were anything of B or higher.

Meddy scratched at her uniform irritably, the full uniform bugged her, it was restricting, she was a wild and unpredictable fighter and she couldn't move perfectly in it. And the long skirt at the back was so much easier for her enemies to grab and pull, it was why she had shortened her hair mostly.
The only reasons he put up with it was because it was for a formal situation, something she hated as much as the official uniform, which meant in spite of being a graduate one year before expected, she looked beyond uncomfortable. She fidgeted as Master Chief Alraune stood up to the podium from which she would congratulate graduates upon passing and yadda yadda yadda. Meddy sighed, finally sitting still and looking up at the podium, she supposed just this once she could stand to listen, even if she'd forget most of it at the end of it all. She just wanted to get out of the damn uniform.

Graduation day, a day where families gather and cry and congradulate people and friends say their final farewells. How completely and utterly boring. Sure, he stood there with a serious look upon his face. Deep inside, he would rather be somewhere else. Zail Orenth would rather be home with Bane. Who was Bane? Why Bane was his faithful and loyal 'dog'. Well, Bane was actually a wolf. Okay, so Bane was a Wolf summon with fire-based attacks, but to Zail, Bane was his beloved pet and best friend.

Zail ran a hand through his short spikey black hair. He dared not to move to show even the least bit of dislike for his uniform or else his parents may scold him. Instead he was standing like a perfect little soldier and even when they all sat down he sat like a 'perfect little soldier'. His parents expected him to be high-class and perfect. It was not what Zail wanted. He would rather be out in the country somewhere with Bane.

The parents were proud, Zail had passed every single class with an S. He even passed the final exam with one of the highest scores in class. For them it was an achievement, for Zail it was a relief. He was glad to be getting out of the school. All he ever did was study and work hard, now there would not be as much of that. His parents expected him to be one of the best, well, they got what they wanted. Problem was, he had no friends to say good-bye to. He just had Bane.

Many had thought of him as one of the snobs because of who his parents were. Instead, he just had no time for socializing. His parents always had something for him to do, he was very relieved to be finally getting out of school. It would take a lot of the pressure off him from his parents. He knew not to breathe a sigh of relief just yet, no telling what his parents would make him do after graduation.

"Graduation. Students, is the most important factor of all." Alraune began, she did so love to talk, but had proven she wasn't all babble for she had a respected record of demons wasted under her own belt too,
"It shows we are ready to face the darkness, we are ready to fight the evil shadow of hell itself. It is for our faith in the future of human beings, our hope for survival and our very servitude to God that we fight. You are all qualified warriors, capable of placing demons where they belong, in hell or under the earth, preferably the latter." That last part rose a few chuckles, "But do not take this lightly. Every day in enemy territory you will be risking it all, every waking moment must be spent watching your back or eliminating the unearthly scum that tore our civilization apart." Her eyes then looked at the only seventeen year olds in the crowd, "And I see that we have eager and brilliant students among us, with this kind of rising ability among the human race we will certainly close the gates of hell in every sense of the term. I wish you all good luck, good health, long lives and a very long record of vanquished demons."

Now thats more like it! Meddy sat forward slightly, an eager look on her face, oh everyone who knew her well enough knew full well just speaking of killing demons excited her. Her family consisted of a psychologist father, a medical mother and an annoying younger sibling who, in fact, was now soon to attend his first year in the academy.
They were a pretty average family and practically the most normal that one could imagine but her father was always over-worrying about her. She found it annoying but at the same time thinking about it reminded her that he cared, her mother had always been a little distant to her, she obviously favored her little brother more once he came into the picture.

She didn't hate her little brother though, in fact she loved the snot-nosed little brat, and though he could be annoying certainly would stick up for him whenever anyone picked on him.
She looked aside quietly, spying the boy known as Zail. That guy was a super genius and some kinda rich guy. She didn't like to assume but did all rich people have to be so damn good at everything? She specialized in fighting and didn't let anyone beat her to the high mark on that, but he basically outclassed her in everything else, looking at her track record she felt a little beneath him, then looking forward and lowering her head just a little.

Master Chief Alraune had finished babbling and the call of "Dismissed!" Made her jump to her feet straight away, everyone else standing too and saluting in a roughly simultaneous manner.

If only she had looked it from his shoes. Zail had been put under a lot of pressure to be the very best. Anything less would have displeased his parents. He hated it when his parents lectured him for hours on end and 'grounded' him from Bane just to get him to make good grades. Now he would not have to worry about that.

As soon as Alruane said,"Dismissed!" he jumped to his feet and saluted with the rest of them before leaving with the rest of them. He could not wait to get home to his faithful companion. His parents came up to him and hugged him, giving him praise for graduating at the top of his class. Zail just took it appreciatively but he hated getting smothered. Especially by his mother, she had him wrapped around and was telling him about having invited all of their relatives for a party. Oh great, simply great.

Zail would rather take Bane and get ready for war or at least get out of the hot and itchy uniform. Of course, he knew he would probably have to get used to it. He would be using it a lot of the time when it came to fighting. He could just see it now, him and Bane slaying demons left and right, working together in unity like a boy and his dog should. Yes, that was his dream battles.

Meddy made a straight beeline for her dad. Professor Lectix was only really renowned for his work as a psychologist for humans, there were a couple but he was considered the most humane among them. His other work included understanding the demon mindset and studying their psychological responses to one another, it was his studies of demons that allowed for increasing advantageous tactics against them.

Meddy leaping into his arms was almost unexpected, but the proud father hugged his daughter with a most pleased expression, he didn't even care that most of her grades were substandard, she had still managed to beat the odds, part of him was relieved she wasn't among the grade A students with a balance of everything else. It made her seem rather less powerful than the others, perhaps she would not be expected for harder work than the other anti-demon children.
Though he had tried not to, the professor had grown greatly attached to Meddy, she was every bit his daughter without the same blood as him, as a child she was sweet and as she grew she proved confident and courageous, proud in the face of all adversity.

Even the mother was there to congratulate Meddy. She had married Professor Lectix a year after Meddy had been adopted by him and felt uneasy at her presence mostly because the man never revealed anything about Meddy's mother, there weren't even pictures or any records. It really was a little suspicious.

Meddy looked at her apparent mother uneasily but instead of simply being stared at and avoided, she was hugged, an unusual thing to receive from her mother,
"We're both proud of you Meddy." The woman whispered, "Please forgive how badly I ever may have treated you."
"It's okay mom." Meddy replied, backing away and quickly drying her face before grinning, "I'm just happy I made you proud too! Now I'm gonna go teach those demons a lesson! Nothings stopping me except maybe a little ice cream break now and again, speaking of which," She grinned at her dad,
"Yeah yeah." The processor chuckled, adjusting his glasses, "We'll all get some ice cream as promised."

"I know you want to go home and see Bane." Zail's father said, ruffling up Zail's hair. Zail's mother was talking about how his aunt Melina and aunt Shana were going to be there, which made Zail groan inwardly. He cringed when his mother mentioned his grandmother and grandfather coming up to visit too. Oh great, he was going to be in a room surrounded by a bunch of old women, and yes, they pinched his cheeks.

He always noticed Bane would whine and hide everytime his relatives came around, especially should they bring his cousins. He had a few, but the ones he despised the very existance of were two of them: Shelly and Kelly, twins, and both were stuck-up brats interested in the latest fashions and hating Bane. They called him a flea-bitten bag of fur, and this made Zail angry.

At that time, his 25-year-old brother came up and gave him a pat on the back,"You go kick some ass okay?" He says. "You mean, Bane and I should go kick some ass." Responded Zail, this made his brother slightly frown,"I don't know what you see in that dog, he's just a summon."
"Shut up!" Snaps Zail.
"Alright you two, save the rough-housing for later, let's go home." The father said, stepping in and keeping the two from having a fighting match right then and there. He knew who would win though, his son Zail. The father always favored his adopted son more than his own blood son.

"You didn't exactly hit grade A, but you still passed a year Early." The Professor chuckling, looking back at Meddy who had gotten back to wiping her face once more, it had hit her quite suddenly to get such words from her mother. The woman placing an arm around her though seemed to cheer her up and they were joined by the professor,
"Kline would have been here to see you graduate, but obviously he's also going up a year to the academy, we can go down to Primary now and be there once they're finished."

"Yeah I know, come on lets go see little brother!" She chuckled, clambering into the hover car of her family, they owned a typical family class model developed by NewTech, a company that had risen up and begun providing, as their name implied, new technologies and innovations to make life easier once again.
Once the parents were in they were off. But Meddy's true thoughts were focused on her coming assignments, she had already signed the forms to become an insertion team soldier. She wouldn't pass up the chance to destroy some demons, making a name for herself was an added bonus, she would tear demons apart until she practically bathed int heir blood day and night. Indeed it was a rather gothic dream, but demons torn apart with their blood all over the place was more attractive than demons fine and her own entrails covering the scenery.
She didn't care if she even got named a demon herself, it would be ironic then that she stood among demons. Oh the irony of the truth, a truth she did not realize as of yet.
"You know, Kline will tease you if he sees you in full uniform." Her mother piped up, looking back at the grinning idiot that was Meddy, she just chuckled,
"Ah well, I'll let the squirt win today."

The other family of four got into their high-class, expensive, vehicle. They made it to thier home and waiting for them inside was a large male black wolf, he had blood-red eyes. He panted with his tounge hanging out as he came to greet his summoner. Since his mouth was open, he was revealing his large, sharp, fangs. They looked like they could tear through flesh and bone as though it were wet paper.

He seemed fearsome but Bane waved his tail and bounded about happily as he greeted his summoner. Suddenly his ears perked up and he looked at the door-way before tucking his tail and running as the other relatives pulled up. Even Zail wished he could run and hide with Bane as he heard the gabbing of his aunts with his parents. Instead, he fled to his room, one reason was to get away from his crazy relatives but the other was to get out of the hot and itchy suit.

"Don't take off your suit yet, your aunts want to take photos!" Called his mother, which made Zail grumble to himself, he had just removed the shirt part of it. He slipped it back on and took a breath.
"Lucky dog, he doesn't have to put up with smothering relatives." He says as he walks out to face the music of being literally smothered by his aunts and grandmothers. Hopefully, they would allow him to actually get some air this time.

Zail cringed inwardly as his relatives greeted him. Bane was nowhere to be found. The aunts immediately wanted photos of the 'brave, handsome, soldier' standing next to his younger cousins. Well, he would be going away for a long, long, time. May as well give them something to actually remember him by. Oh no, here comes the cheek-pinching. Was he not a little too old for this?

Zail simply kept as straight face as he could and simply took it. He would be facing much more than his relatives in battle but still, if his summoned dog Bane fled, they must be worse than the demons themselves!

It had been a month since the graduation. That time had been used to prepare and rest for the upcoming missions. Her application form had been accepted and Meddy was now officially a Holy Warrior of Geltacore. In spite of her poor other grades, her remarkable combat results called for her to be a front line soldier. A grunt, typically, but she didn't care about the term for it, if it meant she got to fight plenty of demons, then she was all for it.

The last month though had been spent relaxing, enjoying her time with her family, even spending private time with her mother and the rest of her alone time was spent exercising or preparing herself mentally. There was a storm coming, and it's name was Medaline.

The day had come Medaline had shown up on time and her team stood before their groups commander, a grizzled old veteran by the name of Seraph. He had been named a Veteran Crusader for his long service, never letting the demons overcome him and standing firm against all that came his way,
"Soldiers!" His gruff voice called to the small insertion team. It consisted of all the requirements to a make successful insertion team. A mechanic, a pilot, an infantryman, a medic, an evoker, a summoner and a grunt. One guess which class Meddy came under. They also ha done other addition, some kind of Guardian a butler looking type standing at attention behind the summoner. It was then she saw him and half wanted to flip out. It was Zail, he was in her squad?!

"Pay attention Lectix!!" Old Seraph ordered, Meddy standing at attention again, "That's better. You all take one more look back at the civilization we're leaving behind. Thats what you're going out there for, that's what you're protecting. We're going from heaven to hell and theres no going back until we put one huge motherf**king dent in the demons hold of the Kaleann shore closest to Geltania." He marched along the line, staring at each in turn then looking at the taller guardian to Zail,
"Lucky for us it looks like we got us a couple of pros here. Maybe we'll live just a little longer. Lets rock people!" He pointed to the vehicle they would be using. It was a Water Skipper, built especially for high speed water travel and fast shore landings. The interior was built large enough for them all to fit in comfortably. The soldiers all ran to the ship, lining in calmly as the pilot headed to the front and fired the engines up.

Meddy got in place and sat down, she had the crusader uniform on, like the others, but she'd be pulling it off once they got to shore, she had her modified clothes underneath. Her weapon was already on board, a special order she had asked to be custom built and prepared for the Insertion. The long steel case sat behind her seat and she knew what it was right away. Though it was the same as her academy bladed rifle it had been adjusted to be heavier for she found her original too light, and the power had been increased. Sure she knew she would feel recoil but that was indeed more fun, she wanted to feel the sheer power that was being unloaded upon her foes.

Everyone knew how important Bane would be to the fights. It was why Zail brought him along. He had spent a few days with his annoying relatives but the rest of the days was spent training himself and Bane for the wars to come. Bane had shown great promise, and Zail often wondered how weak the wolf really was for a summon who had been around for a long time.

One day during this month, a man in a white lab coat came approaching while Zail was having one of his training sessions with Bane. Upon smelling the intruder, Bane beared his sharp fangs, flames came up on his paws and when Bane raised his hackles, it was a line of fire going down his neck and stopping inbetween his shoulder-blades. Hal stopped and flinched seeing the aggressive dog,
"It's alright Bane, down boy."

Professor Hal introduced himself to Zail as Professor Haldredge, but everyone called him Hal for short. He even commanded Zail to do the same. The two became acquainted with each other and with Bane. Hal was very impressed at how strong Bane was for a summon who had been around for a while.

Finally the day had come, the night before his parents and Professor Hal had thrown him a good-bye party. Once again he had his pinched cheeks by his relatives, but was also squeezed to death by his rather large aunt Shana. His uncles all gave him pats on the back that knocked the breathe out of him, and again Bane was no where to be found. Fighting demons were probably much easier than this!

Zail was with the others, listening to his mission briefing. He glanced around, recognizing some from graduation. He realized he was standing next to Medaline, he certainly recognized her from graduation. What was it Professor Hal told him to do about her again? Oh well, it was not important anyways. Zail continued to pay attention in the briefing and loaded the ship whenever everyone else did.

They had, at first, not allowed Bane to come along. They changed their minds when they tried to take him away, Bane would not let anyone but Zail touch him. The fool who had attempted to do so almost pulled back a nub from the wolf's sharp fangs. Hal persuaded them to allow Zail to bring his summon and for now Zail had 'put him away' since there was no room for him on the shuttle.

Once everyone was on board the final preparations were made, all systems were checked over on the machine before the doors closed up and the seats were locked down with padded harnesses. With a burst the machine leaped forward, flying out onto the water and gliding along it at a ferocious speed. It would be a couple of hours before they reached the shore, but first their bodies had to adjust to the movement speed of the Water Skipper, which didn't take too long.

Once they could move normally again the harnesses unlocked, allowing people to get up and move again. Medaline took the opportunity to reach over for the case and lay it out on the table between the two rows of seats that sat ran along the sides of the hull.

A few of the others watched as she flicked open the case, revealing a clean, undamaged copy of the bladed rifle she had been using in the academy, the blade was hooked up to an aura generating system, making it particularly useful for dealing with demon spirits.Ghostly spectral demons had been an early threat until they figured out magic or holy charms could deal with them.

The energy crystal that gave her the solid shell producing ammo was separate of the rifle itself but she calmly span it in her hand before palming and forcing it into what would have once been a magazine chamber. It locked in perfectly. She held the rifle up, safety off, it was definitely heavier, just right in her hand and she couldn't wait to squeeze off a few rounds. With a satisfied smile she ejected the rifle's crystal and placed the weapon back in its case.
