It has its ups and downs.

Usually more popular during holidays/discounts. But its kinda hard when DA keeps changing its user statuses. Basically, only premium membership users get more limelight and advertised. I did have pm before but the prices have just shot up $20s more for a yr membership (which saves you $10) rather than doing the 15$ every 3-months option and its not worth it. There was a third cheaper option but they took it away.

Then there's the dark side of DA where popular artists don't believe in the prices some not-so-known artists have because they believe that we're under-pricing ourselves - so they'll never commission those who do, period. I think that's just all kinds of nonsense excuse on their part. But whatevs.

I try to give free-to-use things in the mean time and gifts.
I like to give back when I can.

I want to. I just need a good printer, a lamenator and some keychain ropes to make charms, stickers and book marks. Those are the smaller things that are good to start out with.

I'm hoping to have them ready before this Christmas.

I did make a sample one last year but the size/shape was off and I had to work on making a template from scratch to make them 60inches long. By then, it was too late. But I want to be able to give a quality fanart art piece with them to but we don't have a quality printer.

dA has really been going downhill. I hate it when sites "update" things that don't need updating every few months. It usually means they change the layout and end up with all sorts of bugs afterwards.

It has a flash on it unlike the izones and you can buy a portable printer with it.

aaahh. I love fall pictures! I always wanted to take pictures like people do of Big Ben, on black and white and hang it up in a picture frame on the wall. They always look so classy and it'd be cheaper to do it yourself rather than pay $50-$100s for one at the store.

Yeah. My one job I get tons of holidays, the other one...yeah I don't really get any days off and it sucks.

It's not that I like one more than the other. I don't know. It's just with everything that's been going on the past few years it's hard to get back into the art stuff. Especially when your time is limited. I enjoyed graphic design and photography. I'd like to go back to school, but not sure that's going to happen. Writing is tons of fun as well. It's a little more flexible than art is.

Fall is my favorite time of the year. One of the best times of the year to take pictures in my opinion. Though winter can be fun too and tends to be more of a challenge when their is snow and ice. It is so much cheaper. Black and White pictures and Sepia pictures are amazing.

There really isn't much around where I live. I do have a decent view of the one mountain. Just might have to make a trip to the one park that has hiking trails.

I should have some of my old photography around here somewhere either on DA or photobucket if you would like to see some of my stuff.

Like you said, it is flexible and you can edit it anyway you like!

But yeah, photography is fun to do. Especially drawing (when your not having your low days). And thats wonderful you want to go back to school. I can understand you might not be able to, especially if you cannot keep up with the tuition when you have other misc. things to pay. Im still using DA. I do have tumblr. I got on furaffinity.

It just takes a lot of effort, time and dedication.

Once you have a following, you can start trying to make products and then get noticed even more.
If you have the funds and the opportunity, you go to comic cons and distribute yourself there.

I think friends and family support will definitely get you there faster.
If, your family is stable, that is - in their income, etc.

If you mean without the internet, then you have to get a local following. Do charitable work?

Make an original artbook for kids and give them away as prizes or something.
Fanart definitely helps you, especially online.

Its best to always mix your own art with fanart and free art.
Either way, you have to make an connection with others.

If you are unsociable then its not going to go well?

A lot of the artists doing closed species have had to deal with scammers/chargebacks on DA. But that is a risk you have to take when doing a business. You can fight the companies you use of your being wronged and get your money back, thats what they did. And you can always block, and avoid those kinds of people on the future.

Thankfully, I have not run into that and do not wish to.

For IS, amg. That is pricey but you have the choice to sell locally in your area.
I think even seller websites let you choose how far you will ship. You can also make others pay for shippping.

I mean, thats just doing the transaction yourself. I think you have more protection with sites like etsy, maybe? I havent gotten that far, so, idk. But those problems have occured with underage kids messing with their parents credit cards and screwing with people. Now you have to be an adult or of age on DA and paypal. So, that might limit that risk a bit.

My place... I don't think they are this artistically aware.

I so wanted to buy a few things that are over at US. :<
So far I have only found 4 online art store here locally, and 1 recently closed down don't know why, one is under construction for quite some time... even so, the items they carry are nothing compare to Blick and such art stores.
