Everybody knows that the best place to get away from the crowds is under the Boardwalk! So come on down into the shade and join us for some cotton candy and a chat :D

My apologies for the ugliest banner ever, I'm tired. D:

Hi Luna. Hi Zig :D

Thanks. I literally threw it together in less than five minutes.

Our website is holding this big indie gaming event and I had to wake up early for a meeting so I'm tired. I should go take a nap but I want to be with you guys! It'll be a bit stressful with the two things going on at once but at least I'll be online for it. :D Maybe I'll give Mene a shoutout during my stream

Yeah, Zig kinda wants to do other things too but wants to be on Mene as well so I have a bit of a dilemma. V_V

I won't have much else to do buy doggysit. I hope there's enough stuff in the house for me to eat conveniently. Our stove is still broken x_x Or rather, our new stove is not yet installed and therefore just as unusable as a broken one. If only my mother wasn't so cheap and had paid to have the stupid thing installed!

Aw, that sounds horrible! Zig cooks most of her food in the oven or on the stove top.

Exactly! You don't know how much you rely on your stove until you can't use it! I have a crepe maker that is basically a little burner so I've been able to fry eggs on it, but I can't boil water for pasta and microwaved pasta is the worst! We have a griddle, but I think my mom broke that too so -_-;

Aw, that really stinks! I remember having to cook on hot plates, that was annoying but at least they would boil water!

The crepe maker only goes up to the temperature needed to cook crepes. It has a fry function but I don't think that's enough to boil water. D: I haven't tried. Using the burner to boil water would be very precarious. I wouldn't want to knock over hot water onto the doggies!

I've seen those crepe burners, I actually spent a semester in Paris! So yeah, I think you're right. It doesn't sound like a good idea. >.<

Ah, mine isn't as awesome as those (though I want one!), it's a rather old thing. It's a M'sieur Crêpe.

It's not. It's basically just a burner and the part on the top is a pan that you take off and tip into crepe batter. Then you put it back on the burner to cook crepes. I just use a different pan to scramble eggs in. :)

Oh, I see. I've made crepes before but I just used a frying pan. You can't get them as thin as they do with the crepe burners they had at crepe stands though. >.<

Yeah. The dipping the batter in a pan method is interesting. I was looking at other crepe makers and they have just a weird thing that you dip into batter and it cooks it. I think those really big burners are cool though and make much bigger crepes. I always wonder how they get those little wooden wands to spread it to perfectly!

Yeah, watching them you get the feeling that it's an art. They just don't turn out as well any other way. I got some pre-made crepes from the grocery store a month or so ago but they just weren't very good. I would buy them pre-made from the grocery stores in France just to munch on them plain and they tasted much better than the ones here, sweater or something. The ones I got from the store here were too papery and not sweet enough.

I've never bought store-bought crepes here. I always make them myself. But the recipes never seem to be just right. I feel like I'm always on the hunt for the perfect crepe recipe! It drives me nuts. A lot of them are the same and a lot of them are based on Julia Child's recipe but I didn't really like that one.

I have one recipe but I'm not sure if it would be anything you're looking for. Here are the ingredients:

• 5 cups all-purpose flour
• 4 eggs
• Dash (1/16 teaspoon) salt
• 2 cup milk (or more if you want lighter crepes)
• oil

I've only made them once but they seemed pretty good.

I can try it. I'll have to halve it since I'll be the only on here but I'll give it a go. Thanks :D

Do you need the rest of the instructions or is that recipe for the batter all you need?

Does the batter need to rest? Some call for rest. I can handle the cooking part :D

I'm pretty busy with various things. And now I'm trying to hunt down a camera to enter the baby Yan contest. My camera is broken. It will still take videos, but for pictures, the light is shot and all pictures have streaky things in it if you can see the picture at all :gonk:
