Dahlia was almost too ashamed for words. She kept her eyes cast down to the table. Then Eliseo stood, and she allowed herself a small glance upwards. His eyes looked stormy, like her words had struck something inside him. Then he moved beside her chair, and placed a hand on her shoulder. Dahlia looked at it, not entirely sure of its implication, and looked up at her questioner. He avoided her eyes, but told her that she had done a good job. Did that mean he knew she was honest? His grip tightened for a moment, the gesture was almost comforting in nature, and gave Dahlia a strange feeling of hope. She was still a bit confused though, she hadn’t expected such a break in character from Eliseo, a person she considered to be so constant and unyielding. She took it as a positive break, perhaps this meant that Eliseo would be able to learn to trust her after all.

When he said that they could be done, she let out a breath, and a weak smile appeared on her tired face. She moved to stand, slowly, and followed Eliseo out of the door. They were greeted outside by a prefect. Dressed neatly in his uniform, and sporting his stun-gun proudly on his hip, He gestured a greeting to Eliseo, “Officer Eliseo, My name is David Gallegos, I am the prefect assigned to escort Ms. Darkholme to her detention room. You will now be allowed to return to class.” He grabbed Dahlia’s arm, hand wrapping firmly around her forearm. He tugged her along behind him and she gave a slight wave to Eliseo as they disappeared behind yet another set of doors.

The atmosphere immediately changed as soon as the doors closed behind them. Where the questioning lobby felt like an office, beyond that into the real detention center it felt more and more like a prison. The detention rooms were small white cubicles with clear faces made of a shatter and flame resistant polymer. They were stacked three high, and each row was one hundred cells long. Two students could be kept safely per cell, which contained two desks, a supply of paper and pencils, and a projector that showed detention center propaganda about how the school was detaining them for their own good, and that positive reformation was the only way to stay out of the center and integrate seamlessly into the student body. Depending on which hero was assigned to you, your time in the cells awaiting your trial could be spent in several ways. Iceman didn’t really care much for what he called the ‘brainwashing tele-crap,’ and usually allowed the students to spend their time drawing or talking quietly. Sometimes he would even carry on conversations with the students, he was usually the hero you got if your crime was more innocent, tardiness, and inappropriate language were among these.

But Dahlia wasn’t being assigned to Mr. Drake, she knew as soon as they came to the end of the hall and began to climb the stairs to the second level. This was the Gladiator’s domain, a man with all the power of superman, and ten times the ego. His version of detention was to listen to the propaganda intently and take notes. He didn’t care if you spoke, as long as the work was getting done. He asked to review and grade the students’ notes when they were called into their trial. She had never been on the second row herself, but she had heard stories from other students.

The prefect stopped in front of a cell numbered 1014. As he stepped up to the door, the above bioscanner flashed a blue light over both of them. “DNA analysis complete. Welcome, Prefect Gallegos escorting student ID 72501, Dahlia Darkholme.” a computerized female voice said from a speaker in the scanner. The door clicked and swung open, and the two stepped inside. He led her to the desk, typed in her ID number on a digital pad that appeared on the desktop, and instructed her to sit. “If you move from this chair, an alarm will be sounded and the hero assigned to this level will be here immediately to subdue you. And I warn you, sometimes he uses unnecessary force.” he leaned down and whispered,“I think he’s upset that someone as powerful and magnificent as himself has to be down here watching baby villains instead of fighting real ones.” Dahlia almost laughed, but held it in allowing only a grin to spread across her face, and watched as the prefect pressed the door shut with a soft click and disappeared down the dark hallway.

Skander Nikolaevna

Clink... Clink... Clink... The weights sounded like a hammer steadily hitting a nail. Clink... Clink... Breath out, push up; breath in, pull down. One, two... nine, ten. Rest. Water. Wipe the sweat of your brow. Tighten the band holding your hair in place. Sigh. The weights were too light. The workout too easy. He could lift twice this easily. He had before. He walked to the weight rack, and grabbed two more weights to either side of the bar. The total was now 110kg. Nik lifted the bar with ease, again. He sighed, again. He'd already been in the weight room for two hours, slowly adding more and more weight to his lifts. Around him people came and went. Girls in tight clothing, some pretending to lift while interested guys watched them hungrily. A few didn't speak or show off; they came, worked out, then left without acknowledging anyone.

Nik preferred those people. The people that shared his silent determination. He wasn't here to show off, though that didn't spare him numerous glances. He was here to train, to become something stronger. Which was proving more and more difficult as the days wore on. He was already one of the strongest students here. There were only so many weights. There was only so much time in a day. Nik scoffed at himself, and the excuses he made. Excuses would get him nowhere. The only thing that would help was to train, to get better. To further himself from the scrawny Russian child that died in an alley in New York. He would not be weak. He was strong. Strong enough to take care of his mother, his sister, and himself. He just had to train.

Some of the girls at YJA called his body 'God-like'. He'd smirked at that. To think that they compared him to a god when his alter-ego was named after those greater than the gods. The Titans. The beings that, according to the Greeks, helped form the Earth. While at the other school, Nik had become very interested in Greek mythology. He enjoyed learning about the Titans most of all. He wasn't made of marble, like the statues of the Gods. He was made of something harder than steel.

Nik moved from the bench to the treadmill. As he passed a group of people, he heard them muttering something about the library. Apparently something had happened that caused a bit of damage. Nik didn't really care all that much. He didn't spend much time in the library. The Professor had bought him a kindle for all his book needs; Nik only uses it for his school books, which he rarely reads, the few books he has about the Greeks, and a couple children's book in Russian that he used to read to Anna. A thought that reminded him that he needed to email he today.

Thump... Thump... Thump... His feet hit the treadmill with calculated precision. Fast... Faster... Thump, thump, thump...

He ran as fast as his feet could carry him. The other boys' shouts trailed after him, growing quieter with every step. He'd stolen from the bakery again. This time he'd been caught. He didn't know why they were making such a fuss about it; he'd taken the bread out of the rubbish bin. Maybe they weren't chasing him for that. Most of them were friends with the boy who's nose he broke at school two days ago. Maybe they were angry for that. The boy deserved it though. He'd called Nik's mother a shlyukha... a whore. Nik didn't stop punching the boy, even after he'd heard the sickening crunch.

The treadmill screamed underneath his feet. A hand clamped down on his shoulder, and he shot his head to the right. "Take it easy, kid. You've pushed it too far." Guardian said sternly. Nik stepped off the treadmill cautiously; the tread was still moving, despite Nik not powering it anymore. Nik simply nodded, and wiped the sweat off his faced. He mentor shook his head. "Nikolae," Guardian said, "you've been here enough for today. Remember we have that event tomorrow. Get some rest. You'll want to be in tip-top shape for the tournaments." He patted Nik's back firmly. "Though, I suppose you're always in peak condition." He chuckled, but Nik frowned. He couldn't be at the top if every exercise didn't tire him out. He looked at the treadmill. 5 miles, and he was barely sweating; he wasn't tired, or thirsty. He hadn't pushed far enough today. But if Guardian was telling him to stop, he had no choice but to listen. He nodded, and headed towards the locker room.

He dressed slowly after his shower, thinking about what he was going to do tomorrow. He'd have a day off from the gym... but still. He'd be competing. He wondered how far the others would push themselves; how far should he push himself. What were the rules? Could he armor up? He frowned, leaving the locker room with his dufflebag slung over his shoulder. He stood taller than a lot of people that he walked passed; girls whispered, giggled, and pointed; guys he knew held up their hands for high-fives. He didn't know what he'd done to be so well-known at the school. People always said hello to him; he would nod back. They didn't seem to mind that he didn't speak to them. He hadn't really done anything out of the ordinary, apart from lifting large amounts of weight in the gym.

He politely made his way passed a group of girls standing outside his next class. One smiled at him, and put her hand on his chest briefly - as it to see if he way really there. He returned her smile nervously, before pushing passed her into the room. He walked over to the vacant seat next to the window, dropped his bag on the floor, and sat down. He then crossed his arms, and promptly fell asleep.

----------------------

Still steaming from her conversation with Oliver, Grace marched angrily across the school grounds. She would normally be going to her next class... but she wasn't up for it in her current state. I really need a drink. She thought before stopping dead in her tracks. She shock her head violently, as if she was hoping to for the though to explode out of her ears. Oliver would kill her for thinking that. Heck, everyone that knew her secret would kill her for thinking that. She smacked her face, and righted her headphones.

Before she could take another step, her hip vibrated. She danced to get her phone out of the tight pocket of her jeans. She scanned the screen excited, before reading message from Oliver. She sighed, and opened it. Don't forget about the event tomorrow. I got you a gift. It's on your bed. Oliver. Grace smirked. Good old Oliver, doing something to make her not mad at him anymore.

As she put her phone away, she caught movement to her left. She immediately assumed a fighting mindset. She bent down, as if to tie her shoe, and grabbed a small rock. Her other hand reach to her thigh to grab her slingshot. She stood and aimed a rock at the shadows, ready to strike the target's throat. "Dammit, Shadow." She lowed her weapon, and stared at him. He was in his uniform, so she could only assume he'd been on a mission. At least he was taken on missions. Grace scowled. "I could have hit you." She said angrily, dropping her arms to her side. The rock clattered to the ground.

Eliseo hardly noticed the salute some among those present gave him, but he absent-mindedly returned it as per his practice. What he did note, however, was Koa's abidance of the practice. It was at least nice to see that he at least held some respect for him, though he was unsure of how well this opinion carried into the other's thoughts. For the most part, he didn't care to question that as he relayed his questions. A slight grin did touch his lips as Koa relayed what he knew, what he thought to do. Nodding curtly at the name he was given, Eliseo committed it to memory to add to the file he would have to turn in finished later. The suggestion then reached him, leading his muscles to tense just a bit. Mercy, for the sake of the accused? Normally such a concept would seem out of the question, but in light of Dahlia's reasoning and his shifting thoughts on the concept of school rules fulfilling justice...

"So be it. If you'd like to see the punishment altered, please care for the details. I believe we all trust your judgement." He replied casually enough, the tension in his form earlier melting as he lounged casually from where he leaned against the wall. He spoke tersely, but his gaze was calmed and even, almost a bit curious as it crossed Koa. "It also appears you know our witness, so if you would not mind asking her briefly what she knows of it." He then added aside, almost as if a suggestion before nodding a bit. Was this a soft streak, or was he becoming ill? Did he not find school punishment suitable in this case, or was he finding it unsatisfactory holistically now? These questions and many of the like weighed in upon him as he ran a hand up through his tousled hair, pulling it back with the weight of his hand before the pieces it passed over sprung back out to their typical form.

A soft sigh left his lean form. His gaze then fell upon the others of the room, wandering about the small group of which he knew few. Where did their loyalties preside, if not with him? Did they not regard the school's disciplinary system as satisfactory punishment either, or...? Maybe he needed a break for the day. Without so much as another word, he pulled a chair out from the table a few gathered about, seating himself casually and placing a hand over his face in thought.

After she had spoken, before he had even reacted verbally, Aysel immediately wished that she had not. The sigh he'd let out as she started trying to reason him was all she needed to know that what she was saying didn't sit well with him. Hadn't she known this before speaking, though? Even if she had the feeling that the topic should have been avoided, she didn't and wouldn't settle for letting the conversation go on a bad note like that. Instead, it seemed that it ended on an even worse one. As the mug shattered, she felt the good vibes their outing had begun with were also lost. Aysel hardly even flinched.

Looking down, she hesitantly moved her hands to rest in her help as she was put in her place, so to speak. She sat quietly to accept what he said in return, her gaze shifting uncomfortably from its fixation on her laced fingers. She didn't know what she could say in response to this; it was more or less true. Many people judged others before the batt of an eye, for better or for worse. She had known from the beginning that she could never say a thing to correct this. It was a matter that she had wished for him to see her side of this, if at all possible. People would judge him regardless, so why bother to worry over how the effect their opinions of his past life may affect their judgement his present character? They will think that they did regardless. His past was important, but his happiness was more valuable to her. It was all she had wanted in her response. It weren't as if he were yelling, but his words still stung her in some aspect.

Her gaze only lifted as he apologized, some surprise lighting them as he payed for both of their drinks. Then noting his dampened bandages, she bit her lower lip. She had caused a mess, here. "It's not your fault." She managed softly as he moved to leave, though she did catch him speak further on his way out. She meant everything to him? Regardless of the exchange that had just occurred, of the spilt tea and guilt she felt, those simple words managed to bring heat to her face. "Why?" She questioned aloud to herself, one of her hands rising to her cheek gently as her gaze found Nisshoku walking out the door. Swallowing hard, she stood and took a jogging start out of the cafe to catch up to him. It was still an odd feeling, running in general, but it was the decision she made in that split second. Thankfully, she did manage to catch up to him with ease, keeping pace with him once she had.

The mixture of regret and guilt lingered on her features for a quiet moment, blush on her cheeks, before she hesitantly smiled over at him. "Thank you for the tea, Nisshoku. I am glad to spend time with you, though I am sorry to bring up something to upset you. I knew you did not wish to speak of it." She admitted openly, tucking a stray piece of hair behind one of her ears before sighing softly, as if contentedly. Even with what had happened, he had said he cared for her. It made her stomach flutter, her energy surge. It was a bit odd, but certainly welcome. "Your hands are alright?" Aysel then questioned with a hint of worry, recalling now that the hot tea had soaked them. Her eyebrows tugged together slightly, though not enough to crease her forehead.

Her class was just down the hall, so it was there that she paused to end their short walk. "I need to catch up on some notes before my next class starts... I will see you after, though." She then repeated what he'd said earlier, a small smile playing across her lips again as she lifted from the ground. She nearly turned, though something in her lead her to linger there for a moment. Part of her thought to give Nis a hug, for although it seemed she was the one to usually show affection like so with friends, he hadn't seemed to mind those and he had had a long day. Something else came to mind, though. Leaning in hesitantly, she placed a quick kiss on his nearest cheek before sheepishly turning to enter class. "See you!" She cried briefly before floating on in, past the rows of filling desks. Paying little mind to most already present, she instead moved to take her seat in the middle of the classroom, next to a friend. As she had said, she spent the few minutes before class jotting down the notes she had missed from time spent on a mission the day prior.

"I can't believe you're already getting caught up, don't you have extra days to get the assignments done?" The girl beside her questioned, looking down her friend incredulously as Aysel penned in the notes with care.

"I don't want to fall behind..." Aysel murmured quietly, absent-mindedly as she put her full attention into it.

Sighing, her friends shook her head as a few minutes later Aysel wrapped up her note-taking just in time for the teacher to enter.

Conner chuckled, looking at her as she turned and aimed at him. He did not move, remaining casual as she scolded him and dropped the rock. "Hey, if I get taken down by a rock, I seriously need to rethink my profession" he teased lightly. He noted her fuming nature, and slowly approached the end of the ally, remaining in the shadows. "You alright?" he frowned, "another fight with Oliver?" He wondered if she had maybe been upset about such a thing, which was not a leap with her. She was one to often get into such quarrels, since the two of them did not seem to see eye to eye about her future. He knew what it was like, but in a different way. He looked at her a bit, thinking for a moment. She most likely thought he was lucky, able to go on missions and actually be out with his hero. Though he was stuck playing in the kiddie leagues at the moment. He wondered what she would think if she knew the truth. What would any of them think if they knew the truth?

He was the son of a huge assassin ring, top of their class and a family so tight knit, that wanting to take a different profession...often resulted in dishonorment or death. No one had so far...till him. Which was part of the reason why he currently had his own league of assassins after him. No one knew he was one of them, but everyone knew of them in some way. They were merciless, ones to kill others without a second thought or glance. If it was a job or for some gain, they ended anyone. He wondered what people would think if they knew he came from that. He found himself sighing, thankfull for the new name and the life away from that he had been given. They did not know where he was or anything about him now, which made things for him both easier and more difficult. He could not afford to call to much attention to himself, which at times totally clashed with his personality on many levels. For now, he shook himself out of those thoughts and focused on her.

_____________

Koa watched Eliseo for a moment. He had been the one who had been hinting at changing protocol on this case, and now he was acting as if it was his idea? He said nothing, merely nodding to the words of the other. He could handle the paperwork and such easily enough. He noted the curious look, and blinked a few times curiously himself. Why did he keep looking at him like that today? He noted he was asking him to talk to Aysel, since it seemed he knew her. He nodded, "she is within my next class" he said, glancing at the clock. "Speaking of which, I should go...being late is not a very good thing" he gave Eliseo a slight smile, before a small salute and walking out the door. He headed quickly up to the desks to get his books and the needed paperwork, before heading out the door and down the hall. He still had time, so he would use it to speak to the female in question. Thanks to his height and longer legs, he was able to cover more ground by mearly walking than others. He was soon standing before the door to the classroom. He tilted his head, as he looked inside.

A few whispers to his side made him glance. A few girls were talking, looking over at him. He felt curious about what they were saying. Some found his more catlike appearance cute or attractive. Others thought that it was odd. He did not mind either way. He turned, slipping inside. The teacher entered, but they were not to start class yet, he was preparing for the day. Slipping over, he took a seat next to her before sitting down his book. He thought of ways to get her attention, to engage in conversation in a manner that would not seem to....odd. He frowned slightly, rubbing the back of his neck a bit. "Um...excuse me miss?" he begain, trying the most polite way. "I was wondering if I might have a moment of your time before class" he said, waiting for her to look at him and respond before continuing. He did not know if she knew him, even though they had been in the same class. Even though, the two of them were in similar situations within the school. He knew her, through the class and that the two of them had been partners in an introductory lesson when they had first come to this world.

He wondered if she would remember him from that, but there was no telling for sure. He gave her a warm smile, as he spoke. Many would say that someone like him was hard to forget for a few reasons. "My name is Koa Rashid, I am with the disciplinary committee" he said, "I need to speak to you about the incident that occured this morning with miss Darkholme and miss Kay. Miss Darkholme mentioned that a problem between you and Kay had surfaced earlier this morning" he tilted his head a bit, "is this true?" A few people glanced, and he wondered if doing this in private might be a better option for them than talking about this out loud. "We can wait to speak later someplace quieter if you would prefer" he said, giving her the option if she wanted. He would not force her to tell him now or get right to the facts. If she wanted to be away from prying eyes, he was alright and a bit more comfortable with that. He knew how others could be when they got wind of information on certain topics.

_____________

Nisshoku glanced back as he noted the feeling of her falling into step next to him. She looked at him and exchanged a few words, before she was off and to her class. She had apologized for bringing up something that he did not wish to speak about, but she was glad to spend time with him. "I am happy to spend time with you as well" he said. She asked if his hands were alright and he nodded, glancing down at his hands for a moment. She was gone however, and he sigh, wondering for a moment if he should go after her. He did not wish to make things worse though, so he opted to let her be for now. His hand moving up to his cheek, as a warmth spread through him from the kiss. It kept replaying through his head, and it took a lot for him not to go after her and return the favor in another way. Instead, he turned off down a hall, and made his way towards the clinic. It was a quick stop in, only to get some fresh bandages before he had to head off to his next class. He was not looking forward to it, knowing that it would come from girls staring at him and one other man in particular. One who was often asleep. He sighed as he reached the door, glancing at a pair of girls who were sitting there giggling to themselves. He wondered what they were going on about, but he had a slight thought about what it was.

As he entered into the classroom, he noted said person. Skander Nikolaevna, sidekick to Guardian. He was asleep by the window, Nisshoku moving over to sit in his own seat nearby him. The two of them were often compaired to one another in a few ways. Their nicknames often similar, Nik and Nis. They were also compaired to in some ways by their pysical features. Both handsome and fit, but the other was more seen in a light aspect where Nisshoku was seen in the dark aspect. They were not particularly friends or enemies, they often understood each other and had a sort of respect for each other. He knew Nik had a way of pushing himself and training hard, in many ways Nis was the same. They often saw each other in the training room at various points, though Nisshoku more preffered to work when there was no one around. Mostly because he did not enjoy the looks and stares. He glanced out the window with a sigh, waiting for the class to begin.

Tactics, a good class mainly for the reason of the teacher. Mr Yamato. He was a loved teacher and mentor for many of the students. All of them seemed to know him in some way. Today they would be heading out for a bit of tactical combat training at one of the fields. He knew some of the others were looking forward to it. The class was always exciting and new in some way or another. Yamato was a kind and just man. He was one of the few who could get through to even the thicker students, even Eliseo. He often helped out as a mentor and overseer of the discipline committee from what Nisshoku knew. The man dabbled in many different things. He succeeded it seemed in all that he did do. The bell rang, his eyes moving to the door as it closed. The tall handsome man he knew as their young teacher gave them a warm smile as he moved to his desk before the class.

_____________

Yamato

The shadows moved around him, the darkness all that he could see. Through it, dark shapes moved around. He felt a cold chill around his body as the ability to breath became harder and harder. A flash of silver, then a flash of red. The man sat up straight in his bed, the covers and pillows a mess. A cold sweat over his bare chest as he ran a hand through his dark hair. He frowned, as he tried to catch his breath. Another nightmare, they were not uncommon. Glancing at the clock, it was time to get up anyways, so at least he did not have to go back to sleep. He stood, making his way into the bathroom. He flipped on the light and looked at himself in the mirror. Handsome man, in his early twenties. His hair dark brown nearly black, and his eyes dark gray nearly black. His name was unnknown by anyone here except the head of the school. To all others here, he was known by his code and hero name. Yamato. He looked at the man in the mirror, he barley recognized it in a sense. Turning away, he moved to the shower within the bathroom, turning on the cold water. He needed to rid himself of his sleep and clean himself as well.

Soon enough, he was doing just that, before preparing for the day. He decided on a dark green outfit from Japan, as well as a few of his typical accessories like his headband and the pouches around his hips. Had to be prepared right? He smiled once done, feeling better now. He had the morning to prepare, before a class. As he walked down the hall, many said hello to him, some stopping him to talk. He knew he was popular around the school. Many enjoyed speaking to him, weather it be in or out of class. He was popular for his looks and personality, as well as the air of mystery around him. A ninja based hero was a bit of a change as well, which seemed to interest many. He was a specialist in tactics, combat, agility and more. It made him perfect to be a tactician teacher and a field training teacher within the school. At the same time, he did various other tasks around the school, such as mentoring or working with the diciplinary committee. Speaking of which, he should check in with them later.

He heard a few whispers going around, pausing as he listened for a moment. Apparently an incident had taken place with a woman with the last name of Darkholme. He sighed lightly, knowing her well. He walked along, slipping his hands into his pockets. He made his way towards the detention center, knowing they would most likely come in soon with those responsible. However, before he could, another teacher moved in the way. They asked for his time, which made him have little choice but to agree. Stepping aside, the two got a cup of coffee as they talked. Apparently they wanted him to be one of the judges at the confrence tomorrow. For the tournaments. They had been asking for awhile, but had not come to a decision until now. He sighed slightly, way to wait till the last minute. He smiled though and nodded, agreeing that it might be fun. He knew a few of the students who would be taking place within the tournaments. Some he had mentored, and who would like to show him what they had learned.

The other thanked him, before waving and heading off. Now he was to his own once more. He could have headed back to the detention center, but at this point if things were going to happen, Eliseo would take care of it, along with the others. He sighed, running a hand over his face a bit. Eliseo...that boy was certainly passionate. He smiled lightly, giving a soft chuckle. He decided instead to go to his class, his first one of the day. This one was an in class assignment, he had students work in small groups, working on what would be the best course of action to take in various situations. The class he had not to later on was one that would be actually applying this knowledge and able to get out of the room for a bit. He already thought about who he should put together in teams as the class worked in silence. When the bell rang, he accepted the papers and said goodbye to the students for the day. Some stayed behind to get extra information or ask questions.

He was happy to answer them, not minding it at all. He was used to being prodded, mainly for his past or the secrets he kept. Most of the time he would say nothing, remaining aloof and just that...a mystery. Other times he enjoyed giving them a little nibble in a hint and letting them enjoy themselves wondering. He was finally able to slip out, and down to one of the arenas to prepare for the other class he would be hosting. He smiled, as he looked at his work once it was done. It would deffinetly get them having to think and get their acts together as a group. He glanced at his watch, it was time to head back, class would be starting. Heading back, the bell rang and he closed the door, looking around at the students with a warm smile. "Good afternoon class" he said, moving to his desk. "As you know" he said, turning to face them, "today we will be putting what we talked about previously to use. Today you will be in teams, and have to work together to formulate a plan that ensures all of you getting through in your teams."

He nodded, picking up a list of the names. He had been thinking about the teams through the day. Glancing out at the class, he smiles, having an idea. He began placing the teams, many of them seemed to be happy about it. As the names wound down, he noticed some of them began to look nervous. He chuckled, "Nikolaevna, Tyrell and......." he scanned the list, "Tsukiakari." He nodded, glancing up at them for a moment. He finished with the names, pairing up whoever was left within the class. After, he looked up fully at the students, to see how they dealt with their teams. "I understand you may not fully be happy....but this is a perfect opportunity for an exercise in just that, where your team may not be your ideal fit...but you have to learn to work together and get through it none the less. Lives might hang in the balance" he nodded, "alright, any questions before we get started?"

"Don't disrespect a well aimed rock. It was rather sharp." Grace teased back, fitting her slingshot back in its holder. It was true too. Oliver had taught her much about projectile weapons, besides just arrows. Oliver lesson 17: anything can be deadly, if thrown hard enough. She was just as skilled with a slingshot as she was with her bow, perhaps even better. She played with it in her room using bouncy balls. At least, until they started leaving dents in the walls because she used too much force. Thankfully she hadn't reached for one of the darts she had in her pocket. She kept those needle sharp, filled with sedative, and didn't hesitate to loose. They were for situations which required a person to be silenced quickly.

At his mention of Oliver, Grace paled. Was she really that transparent? Her eyebrows furrowed, and she bit her lip. "Uh, yeah." she said uncertain how much to say. "It's nothing we haven't argued about before. Nothing was broken this time, so that's a plus. I'm probably going to skip class though." She bit her bottom lip again, looking at the ground before looking back at Conner. He didn't seem like one to miss class for no reason. Sure, he was late a lot... But if he could make class, he was normally in it. He was still standing in the shadows. Aptly named, she mused. "What about you, Shadow." There was a lightly joking tone in her voice as she said his name. "Did you catch the bad guys?"

---------------

Nik's head hurt. He hadn't been sleeping well these past few days. Anna had said some worrying news in a recent email. She had powers too. She could convince people to do whatever she wanted with just her words. Nik was confused by this information. Had she used her powers on him? Did she actually send him away? How was he supposed to protect her now? His dreams had been filled with her telling him to never return. To disappear, just like Papa had. To succumb to the monster he was. He'd woken up yelling 'I'm not a monster' yesterday morning. He hadn't slept last night, too concerned about the dreams. Which is why he had passed out in class.

He snored lightly, the sun warmed his shoulders. "'Kanda! 'Kanda! Posmotri na menya! (Watch me!)" Anna twirled in the new dress Mama had made her; her golden hair glittered in the sunlight. The dress was pale blue, and a bit too large for Anna's small frame. Nik laughed, and applauded her. "Krasivaya! (beautiful!)" The visage of Anna frowned. "Look at me." It whispered menacingly. The vision grew into a young teenage, and stalked towards him. "Look. At. ME!" it said vehemently; the frown turning into a snarl. The vision reached a claw-like arm towards him.

Nik startled awake, breathing quickly, his head still buried in his arms. His muscles were clenched rigidly. A close observer would assume he had been injured, or shocked. Nik counted backwards from ten. Ten... it was a dream. Nine... you're in class. Eight... Anna would never act like that. Seven... breathe. Nik stretched at five to four; yawned from four to two; and focused on his desk until zero.

He half-heard the teacher list off names, still dazed. He rubbed his eyes. They were red, and there were dark lines under then. Teams. Something about teams. He heard his name through the fog. Him and two others. He turned to look for them. Nis, he knew. He nodded at the other boy wearily. The other name sounded familiar to him. The girls in the gym came back to his mind; something about the library. It seemed only he and Nis were in the room though. He sighed, and swayed a bit in his seat his eyes closing. He forced them open, and then dug into his duffle bag. He pulled out a canned energy drink, and drank the entire thing in three gulps. It was his third one of the day. His head began to pound again.

Catching Koa's nod, Eliseo returned it with a short one of his own as he allowed himself to rest for the moment in the chair he had claimed. He met the other's words with silence, but an air of understanding as he returned the salute before sighing again and allowing his back to rest against that of the chair. Lounging there, he crossed his legs thoughtfully. So, this time Dahlia would get off much more easily, assigned a temporary mentor as a probationary measure instead of being kept here for long. He supposed she would like that. Uncrossing his legs after a few moments, he came to the decision that he had probably missed enough class for the day. The paperwork would need time to process in any case, so he was now free to return to class. If you could call class time freedom, that is. Eliseo had always done an adequate enough job in the classroom, but that was just that-- adequate. Most of the time, between missing classes and not putting enough heart into work he wasn't fond of, he only managed with B's and C's. Most classrooms felt no better than the detention cells here, and he had only ever visited those for short periods, and only to see those they held.

By the time he got to Yamato's class, he was quite late. It was generally accepted that his tardiness or sudden leaves were to be tolerated by most teachers, though some still got on his case for it. Yamato hadn't seemed the type to do that. In any case, each of his teachers were made aware by the disciplinary council of proper reasoning for any daily attendance issues, so he didn't worry too much about walking into class late. Eliseo closed the door quietly behind him, seeming to have walked into team a assignments. Casually taking the nearest open desk near the back of the class, not his own but the easiest to claim without causing a distraction of himself, he settled in just in time to hear his own name. So, he was paired with him...? Calmly, his gaze moved to find Nikolaevna, someone he knew prone to sleeping in this class. He would manage with that. Resting his cheek in his palm, however, he sunk down a bit as Tsukiakari was then mentioned. Oh, Yamato had out done himself today.

A slight frown took his lips, but he knew better than to argue with the man. He wasn't someone Eliseo would particularly wish to argue with, in any case. He was respectable, and his actions seemed within reason. Even if that meant working with Nisshoku. Eliseo didn't have any particularly ill will towards him per say, but they did bump heads from time to time. He still felt some distaste towards the other presently for their earlier exchange, his interruption of Dahlia's apprehension. Not only was such an attitude not welcome in a school environment, but it ad bordered some intent of violence. At least, that was how Eliseo saw it. His gaze moved from Nik to Nis, the two seated closely as the focus of he female attention in the class seemed to circulate in their general direction. After Yamato had finished listing off the teams and gave his explanation that they were expected to tolerate each other, the time for work began. Picking up his bag with one hand, Eliseo calmly stood from his desk to move to where the other two sat. Not making eye contact with either for the moment, he set his bag on the desk sitting in front of Nik before seating himself casually. Then, straightening his shoulders up and looking over the two calmly, rather expressionless, he spoke calmly. "Pull yourself together, Nik. Let's begin." The words were a bit scolding, but not spoken in a cold manner. Eliseo was being blunt, but encouraging in his own way.

After having finished jotting down her friend's notes and handing them back to her, Aysel heard a voice rise up from beside her. Blinking curiously, she turned to see Koa sitting there. She didn't know him very well, though she did remember him well enough to realize who he was. This, and she also remembered having heard that he had entered this world on circumstances similar to her own. Returning her smile with a small one of her own, se gave him a little wave. "Hello." She replied sweetly, finding it a bit odd to be referred to by 'miss' as opposed to her name. She recognized it as polite speech, but it was still odd hearing from a classmate. "Sure, you may." She then added, nodding her consent as he requested some of her time. What was this about? There had been a few occasions of male classmates approaching her awkwardly and attempting conversation, sometimes ending with their seeming to shrink from her... but this was different. Koa was no stranger to her, and he didn't seem as nervous as those others did. It was obvious he wanted something else as she awaited his purpose. Her head tilted slightly as he briefly introduced himself, curiosity in her gaze up until the point of mentioning the incident. Her eyebrows gathered slightly.

"So, this is about that..." She spoke softly, her gaze lowering with some embarrassment as one of her hands rose to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. To think that something had become of her foolishly asking a question beyond her comprehension. "It is true. I did not mean trouble." Some ounce of sadness crept into her voice, though she swallowed it back as she turned her gaze back to Koa. "I did not know that Connor being 'hot' had anything to do with Kay's emotions. Dahlia was only acting to help me!" She blurted out, with some frustration, then sighed softly. She had raised her voice slightly, but only in exasperation-- her tone was more showing of frustration and good intent than it was of any anger. After that, however, it was easy to feel the eyes falling upon them as a couple of whispers of the incident rose up. Whispers of the incident and now Connor, after his mention. He was a popular topic, as it seemed, but her short outburst hadn't spurred her any favor-- to others, it sounded different than she meant for it to. Aysel shrunk back in her chair a little. "I apologize. I would prefer to speak later." She managed more quietly, her gaze again falling to rest on her desk as she thought over how simple a mistake had caused people here trouble. She needed to be more careful of what she said.

Sighing softly, she rubbed one of her cheeks in thought. "I can manage after class, if that is alright." She then added, quieting a bit.

Conner chuckled lightly at her words. True, he knew well anything could be used as a weapon if need be, but he doubted that she would attempt such a thing on purpose. She said that they had indeed argued, but that it was nothing they had not argued about before. She seemed uncomfortable with his mention, a light nod coming from him. When she asked about him, if he caught the bad guy he smiled lightly. "Ya...not much of a challenge at all" he sighed a bit, "don't quite get why I had to be there for something so simple...but that's the job." He ran a hand through his hair. "Sometimes makes one question some things" he gave a slightly dry chuckle. Moments later his phone went off. He had turned it back on after the mission, slipping it out of his belt. He expected to have a message from Nightwing, yelling at him or something.

However, it was a friend of his, updating him on some issue. He raised an eyebrow, "weird" he said, "seems there was an incident this morning...and I'm partially at the center of it." He glanced up at Grace for a moment. "Should be flattered right?" he shakes his head, "man....people sure are odd at times." He gave her a slight nod, "I'll let you have some time to clear your head then...I should get back, see where this little incident came from." He gave her a wave, before turning back to the building. Scaling between the walls was not hard, just needing focus. He made it back to the roofs, before he headed back to the school. He changed quickly, before heading down to his class. The words on the text were still on his mind. What was going on at this school? He had some time to figure out what to say before class was over. He would go find those involved after...well...the one that was not in the detention center or the clinic. He sighed a bit, laying his head on his arms. What a mess.

Nisshoku listened as the assignment was relayed to them. He frowned slightly though, as the words of who he would be working with came to light. He nodded lightly back to Nik, who gave him a nod before chugging his drink. However, the other person within said group he refused to look at. Eliseo....after this morning, he did not even want to think about that man. Yamato asked if there was any questions, as students shuffled around to get in their groups. Nisshoku remained silent as the others move, as well as Eliseo. He moved over to where the two of them were, not looking at them till he finally did just that. He told Nik to wake up, that it was time for them to get to work. He glanced in his direction, reaching up to adjust his scarf a little. His eyes on the other for a moment. It was not what he wanted to be doing right now, working with the other. He sighed lightly, closing his eyes for a moment calming himself internally. The last thing that they needed was for them to begin an internal fight. After all, this was a task in learning to go along with the hand you had been dealt.

To make the most of it, and to do their best. That would not last if in some aspect they were at each other's throat. Nik looked like he could barley keep his eyes open though, while Eliseo looked like his blunt typical self. They were the worst possible team, it was not hard to see that. He noted the others looking at them, whispering and making comments about it since what happened not to long ago. This boy, Eliseo had caused trouble, but saw he did nothing wrong. Instead, it was as if those who opposed him were the ones in the wrong. He reached a hand up, running fingers slowly through his hair for a moment. No, he did not want to be working with them, but he did not have much of a choice at all. Instead for now, he looked back at Yamato for a moment as he answered questions. It seemed even now some were poking at his past. The two of them were in the same boat with being a mystery to people. The difference being Yamato knew his past, where Nisshoku did not.

The female greeted him, agreeing that he may have some time of hers. As they talked a bit, he noted the way she seemed curious of him, and then nervous as their topic shifted. She seemed uneasy when the topic of the events of the morning came out, coming out so far as to blurt a bit of what had happened. Conner was involved in this yes, the male student being around the center of the cause. At the same time, it was not his fault indirectly. He did not force them to talk about him or get in a scuffle. The result of her words caused the other's within the class to speak a bit, the whispers starting. She apologized, and said she would prefer to talk later. He frowned a bit, worrying that he had upset her. He had not been trying to be mean or to upset her. She said she prefered after class if that was alright. He looked at her, for a moment. He then gave a slight nod "yes, that is alright..." he said to her, about if she would be willing to speak after class.

"I did not mean to upset you" he added slowly, before turning away to the desk before him. He pulled out a pen then, looking at the paperwork before him. He began to work on it a bit as the teacher began to go on. He was able to multitask, not missing much of anything. He filled out the change in the punishment form for the females involved, as well as began the papperwork on what he had learned from Aysel. He would have to get her full statement after class, but for now, this would do. He glanced at her a bit sidelong, feeling a bit bad for her. He knew what it was like to be curious, to be unsure of events that went on around this place. Things that led to questions, he was not above asking sometimes himself. She had not meant any harm, this he knew. But the results that had happened because of it had indeed happened. Now there was no choice but to move forward with that. She had done nothing wrong, so she did not have to feel bad, but he knew that would not help.

Yamato noted the whispers and looks as people got their assignments. They began shifting around, as some asked questions. He had little trouble answering them, though some of them were off topic. He chuckled lightly, as he held up a hand. "Alright alright, time to get started" the students had been shifting around, getting into their groups. Some of them already beginning to converse, he did not hear any major complaints so far, that was at least a plus. He looked around the room, before nodding. "Alright, from here we will move to the sight of your mission...or in this case an arena within the school" he explained, "you will have five minutes to confer with your team members and work out a strategy. A strategy to one of these." He held up a stack of files, in plain large yellow envelopes. "Each has a senerio, which you are to treat like an actual mission. When it is your turn to act, you will do just that as a team. A chance to put your plan into action and see what happens."

He gave them another warm smile, "I will be there for guidance, and in case something happens. However, this plan is up to you, I will not be able to give you any tips or anything before you go on once you have your missions." He looked to each of them a bit, "this is your chance to show me what you have learned, during the shows I will be watching your performance. By next class, each of you will recieve a report on your mission and how you each did as a team. With each of them, there will be individual reports as well. You may choose to share them with your team mates or keep your own personal comments and reports to yourselves. Your homework is simple, you will write your own summery of your mission, including what your thoughts and feelings were as well as how you think your team and team mates did overall." He nodded, before turning and walking to the door. He opened it, looking back at them, "lets get going."

Grace listened along as Conner spoke. Seems the mission didn't go the way he wanted, even though the villains were caught. A simple mission, he'd called it. He laughed roughly, like there was something bothering him about his words. She was curious, but just as she was about to ask his phone rang. "Center of attention, who wouldn't be flattered." She muttered. Conner seemed to be at the center of most things, top in grades, top in combat; top in the conversations of the other girls at the school. Grace rolled her eyes. She was about to say something when he told her that he was going to give her space. She returned his wave weakly, and watch amused as he scaled the wall. Just like a real hero. She thought before turning to find someplace to avoid class.

Grace climbed the largest tree she could find to a decent vantage point, some 20 feet up; to better to see if anyone would find her - if anyone was looking, that is. She leaned against the trunk and her ipod. The song that played was not something she expected. Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. She scanned her iPod and found numerous tracks that she had not put on there. The album art was a picture of Oliver giving a thumbs up, with the word 'relax' underneath him. She groaned, and then laughed. The music was quite soothing. She wondered what the significance of all the classical music was... and then it hit her. It was the music that was always played at formal parties; parties held by the rich. Songs that people waltzed to. Grace didn't know how to waltz at all. She'd never taken the time to learn. She was reminded then about Oliver's gift.

She swung from the tree with ease. A few onlookers were startled at the sudden appearance of a 16 year old girl. She smirked; it was always fun to show off. She raced back to her temporary room. Sure enough there was a man standing outside it. Grace took a deep breath and walked forward. "Hello Quinn, lovely weather today." The man stared at her, his face emotionless. "You are supposed to be in class Miss Sanderson." Grace chuckled, as Quinn glared down at her. The man towered above her. His arms were crossed in front of his chest, to look more menacing. "Oliver told me he had something here for me. It was urgent." Quinn grunted, but stepped aside. "Be quick." Grace side-stepped the giant and entered her room. There, on the bed was a large rectangular box. Grace let out a breathe as she approached, and stepped with caution. She lifted the lid, and there, sitting on a bed of tissue paper was a dress, and a note. The dress was clearly silk, in a deep shade of pine green.

The note said: Grace, We're going to a meeting tomorrow. You'll need to look your best. (Canary picked this out, thank her.) You are not participating in the tournaments. You'll be there as a civilian. I'm sorry Grace, but this really is for the best. -Oliver.

Grace tore up the note, threw the box across the room, curled up on her bed and sobbed.

Nik glared at Eliseo, sizing him up. He looked rather small. "I am not a child Tyrell." Nik said with a hint of anger, his accent making the words harsh. He was overly tired, the workout before class had only worsened his mood. Tsukikari, he could deal with. Tsukikari was much like himself, quiet, determined. They had worked out near each other a few times. Nik knew that this lesson was about working together, but that didn't mean he would apologize. He took another energy drink out of his bag, but drank this one slowly. His metabolism would need the extra boost, should he armor up. Guardian disapproved of Nik's consumption of them, saying that they could cause complications later in his life. Heart issues, or something. Nik just liked the way they tasted - which was far better than protein shakes.

He stood, and stretched; his hands almost touching the ceiling, and his shirt raised a few inches. A few girls sighed admiringly, and greeted him with a chorus 'hey there, Nik', and 'looking good today'. Nik smiled. The girls here were pretty, and they always paid attention to him... he only assumed it was because of his body. Why wouldn't he treat them kindly? "Spasibo kukly. (Thank you dolls.)" Speaking in his native tongue made them swoon even more. He picked up his duffle, ready to follow the teacher out of the room. He was excited to go the the arena. He was excited to practice some of the boxing moves Guardian had taught him. Hopefully this practice mission required a lot of brawn. He'd let Tsukikari handle the brain aspect. Besides, there was no problem a few well placed punches couldn't handle.

Almost immediately after Dahlia sat down in the desk chair the projector started playing the detention center rehabilitation video. Dahlia sighed heavily and rested her head on her hand. A sign on the wall painted in bold red letters was illuminated by the glow from the projector. The sign read, “A 500 word essay on the purpose of the video is due upon the calling of your case number.” Dahlia wasn’t exactly sure if not completing the assignment was punishable in some way, but she decided it was better to not risk the extra time that may be added on to the punishment she was already receiving. She grabbed a pencil and a sheet of paper from the crates beside her desk and began scribbling down notes about what the video was telling her.

Her solitude was short-lived, however, as the door opened again with the same ‘whoosh’ sound. She caught the end of the computerized welcome and wondered briefly how soon after their first day of work the prefects began to go crazy from the repetitiveness. A familiar mop of dark hair was escorted into the room and Dahlia couldn’t help but take in a slight breath. The new prefect repeated what prefect Gallegos had done, typed his ID number in and instructed him to sit, but there were no jokes to make light of the situation. She stared intently at her desk, flipping her pencil absent-mindedly and pretending to read what she had written. The video began playing from the beginning again as soon as the door was closed behind the official.

Fin turned to look at Dahlia, an odd smirk on his face, “Hey, fancy seeing you here.” He paused for a moment, thinking about what she had told him her name was, “Dahlia, right? Funny, you didn’t seem the type to be getting a second-floor punishment. What exactly did you do?”

Dahlia was very confused for a moment, thinking that everyone had heard about the incident, but she was glad for the conversation. “I kind of lost my head and punched a girl in the face today,” she said, sort of quietly. She glanced over at him to gauge his reaction, and he did seem a bit surprised. His eyebrows were raised, and it seemed for a moment that he didn’t know what to say. Then the astonished look turned to a goofy smile, “Wow, you’re more hardcore than you look, cool beans.” The video continued to play just in front of them and Dahlia felt a brief moment of panic, “The essay-” she managed to squeak out before returning to her notes, scribbling fast to try and keep up with the pace of the material.

Fin laughed, “Don’t worry about it. There aren’t enough delinquents in here today for the wait to be too long. Besides, Gladiator doesn’t really care about this assignment. It’s just a tactic he uses to scare people into watching the video. He’s got no authority to extend your punishment unless you actually do something stupid, like stand up. Half the time he’s asleep in his office at the end of the hall.”

Dahlia was very relieved to hear that the assignment was more busy work than anything, but she looked down at her notes and sighed for the wasted effort. She bit her lip, swimming in the silence that followed his laugh, then forced herself to stop and speak. “What are you here for...Fin?” She asked, only able to recall his name thanks to the scanner’s welcome message. He scratched his head with one of the pencils for a moment before his eyes widened a bit and his expression became very grave, “I’m here because I killed someone.”

Her soft expression turned to one of shock, and Fin immediately began laughing, “I’m kidding of course. I didn’t kill anyone, unless you count my lungs. I got caught with cigarettes in my shirt pocket. Apparently the rules on tobacco products are very serious here. It just felt like a dumb thing to say to a girl who beat someone up. I’m too lame to compete with that.”

It was Dahlia who began giggling then, “Well, I wouldn’t exactly say I beat her up. She probably won’t even get a bruise, and I ran away after, so I guess that makes me just as lame as you.” Fin joined her in laughing, glad that she had finally said a full sentence to him. Silence made him uncomfortable, so he considered bringing people out of themselves and getting them to be social a great accomplishment.

Ekan Andith
Crimson Tide

Ekan glided down the hall with purpose in his step. He sported a confident smile, and an excited gleam was obvious in his eyes. His hair was combed back in a neat style and he had worn his best shirt, being the one with the least amount of paint on it. Other students stared as he made his way to the classroom, he supposed it was because of his cargo. He had arranged a wire bouquet of a dozen mustard bottles, and also carried an unusually enormous box of chocolates. He presumed he looked strange, but he hadn’t the least bit of a care in the world. Love was in the air, and also his heart, and today he would proclaim it to the most perfect example of the female existence that he had ever encountered.

He burst through the classroom door with a dramatic pose and rushed to Aysel’s side. He kneeled beside her desk and held the gifts close to his chest. His eyes began to well up with tears of happiness as he recited his feelings as he felt them. “Aysel, my love, you are indeed the most beautiful creature I have ever seen in my short time here on this earth. You are compared in grace only to Rytella, goddess of the sea, and in perfection only to Kadea, goddess of the stars. Your voice is the chorus of a thousand Violins being played in Enanke’s endless symphony that holds together the very fibers of the universe. Yes, I fear that if I should not hear your voice again the very world should come to an end!”

He heard giggling coming from the others in the classroom and instantly became irritated. He stood in a huff and addressed them all, “Who among you should mock my confession? Is it wrong to allow your emotions to be set free, to have the courage to say what is in your heart? None of you can contest the kindness and beauty of this woman, none of you can even compare to her whose hair is the very starlight itself, a face like the brightest of suns in the galaxy, whose glory is too great to behold without awe and wonder!” He turned his attention back to Aysel, handing her the bouquet and placing the large box of sweets on her desk, “I bring these gifts to you as a show of good favor. The mustard is for your wonderful Starfire, and the sweets, of course, are for you. I do not expect you to return my feelings, indeed I understand if you do not. All I ask is that you consider this humble offer of my heart, and perhaps allow me to treat you to an evening out.”

The instructor had had enough, and demanded that Ekan sit down, irritation obvious. Ekan didn’t move, and the instructor began to push him across the wide room with some difficulty. As he was forced into his seat near the other end of the classroom, his attention remained focused on the white-haired girl of his affections, “My dear Aysel, I shall give you ample time to respond to my request. If your chocolates have been devoured and all the mustard has been consumed and there is still emptiness in your heart for this lowly fish within three days, I shall accept your decision with a heavy heart. But fret not for me, your answer, if it be rejection, only informs me that Kepses, god of Alters has not intertwined our fates.” With this he was finally seated, silenced, and class was allowed to continue.

Hearing Koa's calm answer of acceptance in agreeing to speak after class, a grin lines Aysel's lips again. Her gaze rose to him for a moment, quietly, before she found herself feeling a tad sheepish. Had she needed to blurt that out for the class to hear? Being honest with her emotions and open with her feelings inwardly was a sacred sort of art to the Svedu, and thus to her, but that did not mean she needed to make a fool of herself in front of her classmates. It appeared today was not such a great day for Aysel in terms of fitting in, or avoiding awkward situations. "Thank you." She spoke quietly at first, hesitant before adding, "You did not upset me. I now just find my actions embarrassing." Aysel spoke openly, though softly, as her gaze moved to focus in on her desk again. She couldn't stand this negative attention. It made her skin crawl, her stomachs feel ill-- all three of them.

As her thoughts turned to her encounter in the training area earlier, her brow creased slightly as a pout overtook her features. Speaking of it was really the last thing she wished to do today, but if it must be done, then at least she would be speaking to someone who seemed understanding. Her gaze moved casually to glance in his direction for a moment before she calmed. Taking in a deep breath, her pout disappeared and as she let it out, she already felt much better. Focused breathing; a technique meditation taught her. Meditation? Something Nis has encouraged her to try at one point. Ever since, she has taken to at least clearing her mind in a similar manner when necessary. She wondered how his class was going, if he had gotten his bandages replaced. If her kissing his cheek had perhaps been too forward. Rubbing one of her own cheeks in thought, it was then that the door burst open.

Blinking dazedly, Aysel stirred from thought to lift her head and turn her gaze to the figure now standing in the doorway. Scratch that, he was now approaching her. "E...kan?" She questioned in surprise, staring wide-eyed at the guy holding the mustard bouquet and chocolates. At least, that's what she thought his name was. She did not know him well, making this even more of a surprise as she tried to comprehend the spiel he then unleashed. He declared that he found her beautiful and kind, but she couldn't help but to wonder just how well he actually knew her. While she found his openness incredibly admirable, and his words flattering, Aysel had a hard time accepting that he was as genuinely interested in her. It was not the first time she had been asked for her affections, but it was the first time any such a thing had happened during a class, with presents, and such bold words. She was quite awe struck, a mixture of confusion and horror finally making its way onto her face as she sent a brief glance in Koa's direction, as if in search of help.

Thankfully, before she could even utter a word, the teacher came to her side and began to push him across the room and into his own seat. Aysel swallowed hard, looking at the bouquet and box of chocolates quietly as Ekan continued on from his own seat. Her face flushed not with the flattery, but with what she realized as embarrassment. Aysel had just been contemplating how awful today had been in terms of her finding herself in awkward situations-- the timing of this couldn't have been poorer. "As if Starfire drinking these in public was not bad enough... Now I am to deliver all of these to her?" She spoke just over a whisper, staring down at the gifts in disbelief. Today was one of those days she wasn't sure she was cut out for this. If not for her intent to speak to Koa after class, she may have fled to the safety of Starfire's classroom. As it was, however, she simply sunk further into her chair and tried to drown out the renewed whispers buzzing about.

She gets him too?... I heard she hit Kay over another guy this morning... I mean, how am I supposed to compete with Nisshoku and that guy? It didn't matter how little people knew or assumed of her situation, it didn't seem those little whispers would let up through class. Sighing, her insides turned in an unsettled manner. Why today? Why at all? If she could melt into her desk, she would. Instead, she opted to rest her chin in her palms and allowed her mind to wander. Despite the commotion, she would still need to keep a calm head. Deep breaths. In, out...

Eliseo remained unfazed by Nik's response, merely casting a hardened gaze in the other's direction for a moment. He hadn't quite felt that backlash necessary. Nevertheless, it had happened. He would move past it. Instead of saying anything in reply, Eliseo instead shook his head a little, minding the tension he now felt built up in his neck. When had he gotten so stressed? He supposed between the gadget he'd failed to even start on earlier and now the broken sort of team he'd been placed on, he had a right to be stressed. This wasn't quite the whole story though. The apprehension of Dahlia? Well, it wasn't out of the norm, he supposed, with the exception of her request for his help. Standing quietly among the others, he lifted his backpack with a firm arm and began to follow after the others of class. Koa had suggested an alternative punishment, as well. Or had he?

Frowning slightly, Eliseo felt that muscle pressure building up as one of his hands rose to rub his temples. The school, he wondered just what justice the school was actually accomplishing. He wondered what his classmates were actually learning of proper behavior, of what it took to become heroes. What was he learning? They were unsettling thoughts. As they approached this arena of Yamato's, he forced them to settle as he tried to focus on the task at hand. They would have to be tactful to get a good grade on this, and they would have to work as a team. Glancing briefly at Nis and Nik, he felt an impending sense of doom. Surely, nothing good could come of this exercise with them.

Nisshoku raised an eyebrow. Nik spoke, adressing Eliseo who said nothing in return. The man stood and stretched, and the nearby girls seemed to swoon. He played into it by seeming to enjoy it. That was where they differed. As Yamato asked them to come, he stood. Not a second glance at the other two, he followed the man and the others out of the room. Yamato glanced at the students, seeming to tell that a tension was a foot. He noted the slightly rougher start that the three boys were having, giving a light sigh. Perhaps this had not been a good idea after all. The last thing they needed was a huge fight as a result. Then again, it was a lesson that they needed to learn. One could not always choose those they worked with. Even if they had personal ill feelings or just plain dislike towards another, they would have to put that asside at times for the good of the overall task.

He knew plenty of heros who were similar in nature. They did not get along to well on any account, but they were good enough to know the fate of innocent lives went above their squabbling. It was up to these boys to learn the same idea. The class headed down to the arenas, one which was closed off from public use for the assignment. Nisshoku glanced around at a few of the others as they already seemed to be talking about their teams and ideas. He glanced at Nik and Eliseo. Should he say something? Would they even speak back? He was not much of a talker, neither was Nik. Eliseo was not in some ways, but it seemed to be more because of his little justice complex. Perhaps speaking was not the best idea. Instead he lowered his face a bit more into the folds of his scarf. Only his eyes visible at this point as Yamato turned to face the class.

"Time for your assignments.." he began handing out the envelopes, telling the students not to look at them yet. He handed Nisshoku the one for their team, his eyes on the folder handed to him for a moment. Yamato made sure everyone had an assignment, before he set a timer to five minutes. "You have the next five minutes to figure out a plan of action" he says, "once the timer is up, we will begin. Your time starts...now." The timer clicked on, students eagerly tearing into their assignments and chatting away. He looked at the envelope for a few more moments, before opening it up. Looking at the words on the page, he frowned. After reading the words to himself, he turned the paper so the others could see it as well. The assignment seeming simple enough....hopefully.

Mission 309:

A village is about to be destroyed by a villan. You have ten minutes to get to the device he plans to use in order to deatomize the matter within the surrounding 10mile radius and shut it down, or the village will be destroyed. The villan is held up within his stronghold, a fortress reinforced with military grade metal foundation and a state of the art defence system including weapon systems and robotic guards.

Straight to the point. He looked at them, then to the timer for a moment. Four minutes to decide. It left a bit of mystery which was to be guessed, it was not always that you knew every bit of information going into missions. At the same time, it was a lot to go on as it was, which helped them out. Nisshoku's mind already working. Deatomizer....they had gone over this not to long ago in another class. They broke appart the bonds between atoms on a subatomic leval using electric and radioactive baised waves. Meaning whatever the blast of the weapon game into contact with would literally disentigrate into millions of atoms. He did not know if the others had payed attention during this part of class...or if they had even taken part in the class. He looked at their expessions, waiting for one of them to speak, or to see if they got the idea. Yamato watched the students in silence, saying nothing as he allowed them to work on figuring out a game plan.

Koa watched her for a moment, as she thanked him. She then went on to say that he did not upset her. He gave her a smile, "embarassing....if curiosity is embarassing then you are not the only one who has made such a mistake" he laughed warmly. He did not treat her badly because of the incident, nor did he reguard her with the same feelings and strife many others did. If anything, he was being kind and warm to her. He understood much of what she was going through, for it was similar to him in many ways. The door then opened, his eyes turning to a male who came in and began rambling off. Koa frowned lightly, as he listened to his words. He was comparing her to mythological people. For a moment he glanced at her as she seemed to be confused about what was going on. Finally the teacher began to push him away.

He shook his head lightly, "human emotions are quite something indeed..." he looked to Aysel as she spoke up. Then she seemed to want to disappear as the whispers began up again. His hearing caught them all, possibly the most sensitive in the room like many of his senses. She did not seemed to pleased about it, so he opted to do something about it. Turning his head to the others within the class, he tilted his head. "Is it common for all human mating rituals to take place as such....perhaps you are more like the various species of peacocks who show off in order to attract a mate?" he smiled, as the whispers and comments instantly left her and began to go on about how weird he was or some finding his curiosity cute. He did not mind either way, he had completed his task of lightening the mood on her. He glanced at her, giving a light wink before the teacher moved back on to his desk.

His eyes moved for a moment to the mustard. He did not understand the infatuation Starfire had with the substance. Then again, it was not surprising to find new loves and curiosities within the human world when one was not a part of it. He had found an intrest in automobiles since he had come here. Perhaps because he enjoyed working with the agents who built the starships that got to see many of the planets around the galaxy. He had also found some dislikes, such as in a food that humans called Tomatoes. They reminded him of a bright green fruit back home that had blue spots called a Trepnar....it was one of his least favorite foods back home. A chill running over him for a moment, as he began focusing on the class and taking notes.

"The guards, da?" Nik said, assuming what his role would be. Take out the threat, let the others slip by. They could handle the maniac in the fortress. He could help the citizens escape; a more-or-less human shield. Nik stretched again, rolled his shoulders, and took off his shirt; most of the girls were too focused on their plans to notice, which he was glad for this time. Guardian had warned him about accidentally showing off. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and smirked. It started with his fingers - and his toes, though they were concealed in his sneakers. For him, the transformation always felt slow and quiet, like frost creeping up a window pane. He'd gotten better at controlling how quickly or slowly he armored up; he had spent hours in his room slowing the process, then speeding it up - even though it was only by a few milliseconds. To everyone else, the transformation was almost instantaneous. It was something he had been taught at his previous school, by a man much like himself - his previous mentor. People that watched always assumed it was a painful - that he twitched out of pain. To him, it was like his skin was being painted, first a dull grey then a glossy finish, with a very fine brush; it tickled him, causing him to shiver slightly every time. It was a wonderful feeling for him, like being wrapped in a warm coat in the middle of winter. He'd grown to love it. Still, a voice echoed in the back of his mind: monster.

He had been afraid, when he was younger, that something bad would happen when the metal reached his head; that he wouldn't be able to breathe. His fear had never been completely erased; he still would hold his breath for a brief second as the metal casing consumed him. His armored for made him appear more imposing, more of a threat. It added an inch to his height, and doubled his weight. He could run through a wall, if it was thin enough, and if he had a running start; it was not something he enjoyed doing. The downside though, was that his armor shined, and was thus very reflective. Sneaking around search-lights was something he had practiced for weeks. Bullets he could defend against, lasers just bounced back, but light made him a target; if he was hit with light, the team would be discovered.

Eliseo's gaze ghosted from Yamato to the paper Nisshoku held, not bothering to look towards the two of them as he instead focused in on reading it once given the chance. So, there was a fortress to break into, guards and weapons to get past, a... deatomizer, whatever that was, to shut down, and a villain to catch. That was simple enough laid out plainly like so, but he had the feeling Yamato expected more strategy than the three may be able to coordinate. Especially with the present lack of speech occurring between them. Frustrated with the bleak mindset he had on the scenario, he let out a soft sigh and ran a hand up through his hair. The other fished out a few small bottles from within his pants pocket, different plant samples to use. He had to think over which would be suitable, at least.

Nik suggested he take on the guards, leading Eliseo to nodding in agreement. That would get one thing out of their way. "Getting in... could you manage this as well?" He questioned with some hesitance, knowing full-well plants did little good against metal. Some species with good strength may be able to rip apart robots, but breaking in through a metal wall was another problem altogether. Or, perhaps Nis had the power to do so. He did reckon the man capable of drawing out that much energy, though he knew little of what extents those power reached. Looking over to him for a moment, Eliseo then frowned slightly. "The... deatomizer..." He then piped up again testingly, not willing to admit a lack of knowledge but still striving for a good grade here. "Who can disarm it?" The other obstacles didn't seem quite as daunting. Getting past some security, taking down a bad guy-- straight forward enough. Details wouldn't matter to him, so long as the objectives got accomplished.

He took notice at the transformation occurring at his side, of Nik slipping rather quickly into his other form. It was a proper cue that it was time to prepare fully, as they only had but a few minutes left. Deciding upon the bottles he had in his hand, Eliseo slipped the others away to be left with two plant types. Sliding them out into his bare hand, he focused his energy on the two small bits. Vines soon erupted from one root, entangling the majority of his left hand while a series of purple flowers sprouted up through it. While some have called his choice of power usage pretty in the past, especially in his use of flowers, Eliseo thought not of appearances. The purple blooms were capable of not only omitting a potent paralyzing toxin, but they could be manifested into living, hulking beings of sorts with great effort on his part. The vines were a staple to him, as seen in the library; capable of breaking into relatively weaker structures, ensnaring opponents, able to use as weaponry. Grasping the roots firmly in his hand as it was ensnared, determination crossed his face. If anything, perhaps he could blow off some steam this way.

With Koa's warm reply and smile, Aysel cast a hesitant glance in his direction. It was as simple as that, and she found a small smile of her own. That's right-- she was not alone in her entry to a world unknown to her. This brought her some temporary relief, but sadly this did not carry over to the effects Ekan's declaration had taken on her. Wishing to again melt into her desk, she was this time surprised to hear from Koa again. Turning to look at him with some curiosity mixed into her distress, a slight grin took her lips as he spoke on human emotions. Perhaps they were indeed something, yet were they any different from alien emotions? Her powers were controlled constantly by her own, her energy levels tied directly and involuntarily towards her inward state.

Then, he spoke up in question. Blinking with some surprise, she moved her gaze only to catch his wink as the whispers no began to circulate him. Some were yet over how strange of a question that was, but they were otherwise more positive comments than they had been previously. A small, grateful smile lit her face as she realized this had been done for her sake. Not wishing to speak as the teacher began class, she mouthed a quick thank you to him before grinning and turning her gaze towards the teacher to being taking notes. Hers were organized and multi-colored, her attention focused enough, though... doodles often lined her pages. Zarnics, Spudlings, Zornian muck beetles... her notes became littered with these as class went on, focused as she may be. Some of which were food delicacies her mind often wandered to, in their absence here and her tendency towards hunger. Three stomachs would be the worst, at times. In the middle of class, her gaze reached the box of chocolates sitting beside her. Just... one couldn't hurt, no?

Not thinking anything of it- of Ekan, his speech, the response she needed to form- she quietly slipped one out to sate herself. Oh, was it gratifying.

Nisshoku watched the other two for a moment. Nik simply went on to say he would take care of the guards in less than ideal words. Eliseo then asking if he could manage getting in as well. He asked who could disarm a datomizer and the two were already raring to go. It was not even their turn to go or anything. The two were already flashing out their powers in a sense they could drain themselves to early. He sighed slightly, glancing at the clock. Two minutes.Yamato glanced at the students. Many seemed to already have a good working of their plans and what they wished to do. Then his eyes fell on his rag-tag team. They seemed quiet as ever, left with few words. Two of them were already seeming to hop into action. He knew the feeling, but he also knew how foolish it was to jump into a mission blindly. They would just have to wait and see how things turned out. Nisshoku looked at the two. Someone had to say something right?

He looked at Nik for a moment, "provide cover and focus on the guards" he said. If not them, then he would. His eyes turning to Eliseo then, "use your range, focus on the defense and security systems." That would take out both the man and defense power of the building easily enough. He frowned lightly. He could get them inside, and in turn.... "I will deal with the deatomizer." The timer went off. Yamato stepped forward, smiling a bit. "Time's up!" he nodded to the bleachers set up. "Sit down until your mission is called....any more discussion for now on a plan will result in a simple fail. Lets see how your plans work out against the missions shall we?" students moved to the bleachers, including Nisshoku. He sat, simply turning his eyes onto the arena. The first mission was called. The students up looking ready to go and happy about their plan and team. Nisshoku did not know the feeling in this case.

Their mission began, a sea monster attacking a vessal carrying toxic chemicals that if let into the sea, could cause major problems. One by one the tasks began to get carried out. The missions ranged from robots, to lesser villans to just about every different one some could imagine. The arena lowering each time, taking on the holoscene of whatever their situation was. It all looked and felt incredibly real to those involved. The waiting students could watch the scenes on monitors. Some teams did really well, working together fluently. Other teams struggled. Some fought for the lead roll, others fought with being able to just follow orders. Yamato watched each, taking notes and paying attention to how each individual worked within the team, and then the team as a whole. Overall, it was about a fifty fifty split as far as Nisshoku could see.

Some completing their missions with greater ease, while others failed to do so in their time limit. Nisshoku knew their team would only have ten minutes. Could they put aside their differences for that long? He hoped so. Yamato looked at his list, not many left. "Mission 309" he called. Nisshoku tensed a bit. Their mission, their turn. He glanced at Yamato, as the whispers began a bit. Seemed people had been waiting for this. He slowly moved over, stepping down the bleachers to the floor. He made his way to stand in the ring of the arena, waiting for the others to join him. Yamato gave them a slight smile, as he walked over to give final thoughts before their turn. "Relax...you three are capable of handling this, just remember your goal...and that you are not alone" he nodded to them, before taking their envelope. He stepped out of the ring, and pressed the button. The arena floor began to lower.

Ekan sat uncomfortably at the end of the classroom closest to the door, fuming a bit from Koa’s peacock comment, knowing, or at least believing, that it was directed towards him, ‘Jealousies. Jealousies always mock the confessions of Love.’ He huffed, not liking the hot feeling in his chest that the male creature gave him, having taken offense as well to being called a human. He forced his thoughts to instead focus on his love object. He saw her the way a mere mortal would see a goddess, absolute perfection. Of course, he had seen the same thing in many other girls, both in Aurea and on the surface. He knew that because of his wandering affections many considered him nothing more than a pompous ass, only interested in receiving and then abandoning the attentions of the girls he pursued in some sort of self-important love game he was playing, but he was indeed genuine in his emotions. He just didn’t know how to show people he was genuine without his tendency towards flamboyance falsely affirming their suspicions about his motives. Love was a grand thing, so he chose to make grand gestures, and it was fickle, like the face of the sea, as he often was. He didn’t understand how surface dwellers could assume that love would be ever-present and unchanging when love was born of people, and people themselves were constantly changing.

This time his love belonged to Aysel, he was sure of it. He did not know her very well on a personal level, but it was the custom of the Mari to use the search for Alter to make friends. It was not hatred that bloomed between a couple whose love did not pan out, they understood that some things were just not meant to be, and created a bond of friendship instead. They did not separate romantically because they hated one another, they did so because they did not feel as though their search was over. The same could not be said of the men and women he encountered on the surface. If you did not feel that your journey ended with them it was considered an insult. He could name off several individuals, girls in particular, that refused to speak to or even look at him because his attentions fell away from his absolute adoration of them in favor of another. He just could not comprehend it all, but still he tried. He had watched Aysel as she dealt with others, and had developed an appreciation for her genuine expression of emotion and curiosity. He liked the way she always seemed so full of life and admired her kind demeanor, it sharply contrasted with the angst and ignorant vanity he saw in many of the students or other people around their age.

As his thoughts continued on the nature of love and the confusion he felt towards surface relationships, he felt a soft vibration come from his pocket. He pulled a small phone from his pants, a simple one that his surface family had taught him to use, and saw that he had a new message. “I wonder if you could do me a favor” It was from his mentor, well, not exactly from her but from her assistant, as Blindfold had no eyes and couldn’t text. “I ask that you retrieve two students for me when your class has ended, perhaps sooner if your instructor allows it. Their presence is required for a disciplinary trial. Both Koa Rashid, in room 331, and Eliseo Tyrell, currently in holo-training, must be present for events to continue smoothly.” Ekan sighed, and slipped the device back into his pocket. He was always playing errand boy for his mentor, whose main duties at the school focused on foreseeing the outcomes of certain committee decisions, a position he was supposed to take up once his abilities had been polished. He supposed their presence was required for a favorable outcome that his mentor had seen, otherwise her visions of the future might change for the worst. He was slightly irritated that his mission was to retrieve someone with which he was slightly irritated, but he never questioned her authority on matters that affected the future of others.

Not wanting to wait until the end of class to excuse himself, he raised his hand and requested an official leave. “I must take Mr. Rashid with me as well.” He said, his voice changing from its previous operatic tone to one more serious and businesslike. He was of course granted his request, as Instructors were required by rule to allow mentors full control of the students that were under them, regardless of inconveniences to themselves. He nodded a respectful ‘thank-you’ and stood. He stepped just outside of the classroom, glancing over at Koa to make sure he had heard the request and was following. He gave a softer look to Aysel, grinning a bit when he noticed that his giftbox had been opened. It did not matter to him whether she agreed to the pairing or not, of course there would be some pain from the rejection, he was simply glad that she was enjoying his gift. He knew that it more than likely would not end up in a garbage can somewhere, like some of the other gifts he had given. ‘Surface people...perhaps they hide their emotions because most of them do not respect the feelings of others.’ The image of one female in particular that he had courted came to mind. ‘Wonderfully beautiful and popular, but kindness was not her strong suit. She would have been perfect if it were otherwise.’

Alejandro Mateo
Azure

The alarm went off, the sound of music filling the room slowly over time. Nothing stired in the darkness of the room for a moment, until a hand poked out from under a mound of blankets. Fingers moving along the nightstand, until they came upon the snooze button. Pushing down, he arm then flopped down against the side of the bed, as a groan was emmited from the pile of blankets. Mornings...not Alejandro Lucas Mateo's strong point. He had never been a fan of waking up at the crack of dawn, but had been used to it when he was training back in the day...and for normal school...back when he was normal. A knock came to the door. "Al..sweety, you up?" a woman asked from the other side. The top of a head finally poked out, dark brown hair a bit of a mess "ya, I'm up."

He slowly pushed away the covers, standing before he pushed his arms above him to streatch. He moved to the mirror for a moment, to look at himself. He was handsome...a bit odd, but handsome. His skin had a light tan to it, his hair of course brown. His eyes were a deep electric blue. His figure was not overly muscular, but he was slim and lean. One could definitely see abbs and other muscles along his chest, arms and legs. He had been told even if he did not work out, he would not retain much fat. This was due to his race having a higher metabolism than many others. His race...felt so weird to say that. By all accounts, it was not hard to tell on the surface that he was not fully hispanic like his mother. He had never felt like his name 'Alejandro' fit quite with the face.

No one ever used his full name unless they were a strict teacher or authority figure, or he was in trouble. Other than that, most people tended to call him Al, or by his middle name Lucas. He was even used to being called Blue by his closest friends. Many who first met him, might think Blue came from his eyes. His mother had been deep tan, long beautiful black hair and dark eyes. His father had lighter brown hair and the same eyes as Alejandro. That was where he got most of his looks from. His father had gone under the cover of being french and english...which is where the middle and last name came from. There were variations of the two in both languages. His mother had been the one to choose the first name, wanting something traditional while fresh. He rolled his eyes, turning to the closet. He had used to think his father had deserted him.

It was not till later, he learned the truth. His father was not french or english...his father was a Nunnhei. Nunnhei was an indian word, meaning Changeling. This was given to the race by many of the earlier people who inhabited earth, since the true name seemed to be a mystery, or at least not translate well. They were able to take on similar appearances, to blend in with the surrounding population, which had given them their name. They were also a race of evolution, constantly learning and evolving....changing with time to grow. Alejandro had learned about all this one night when he had fallen off of a cliff and literally had to fly or die. From there, life had been a rollar coaster. He sighed, pulling a dark pair of jeans and a light blue shirt from hangers. He took a quick shower, before changing. He brushed his teeth, ran a hand through his hair and pulled on his black boots.

Grabbing his bag, he was down the stairs in an instant. He moved into the kitchen, where a beautiful blond woman was making pancakes. She smiled, turning hazel eyes on him. "Hungry?" she asked. He flashed a perfect smile, grabbing an apple from the fruit basket on the counter. "Wish I could, but I got a major test to finish studying for before class" he messed up the hair of a young boy of five sitting at the table. The boy had the same blond hair as his mom, but the darker brown eyes of a man who just walked in. The man tall and handsome, he had a form that while warm, commanded respect. His hair dark brown, he kissed his wife before greeting the boys. This was his foster family...his home. The parents were agents of the GDP, they knew all about the YJA and heros.

They knew about him...and they still cared for him. They treated him like their son, even though he wasn't. The man turned to look at him, "heading out already? Want a ride?" Alejandro nodded, "that would be awesome, thanks." The two were off, and it was not to long, before Alejandro was stepping through the doors of the school. His eyes moved along the halls, many students already out and about. He was still so surprised to be here...to be a part of all of this. He turned and headed to the library, where he spent his morning studying. That was, until the incident. He knew the people involved. Eliseo was the head of the Discipline Committee...the female he had class with. The others he might have seen before but, he was still relatively new here. He had only been here a month.

Dispite having already made quite a stir and some good friends, he was still really new to a lot of things. He had not even been in the arena yet. Many asked what his powers were, why he did not show them. He played it off as adjusting and stuff, but truth was, he was a bit afraid. He did not remamber much of a certain night, but his powers had been the cause of some trouble...big trouble. That was why he was here. He had spent months on the run, before being found by the GDP. They had cleared him, and basically taken him off the grid. He was now under protective custody, and his information on a need to know basis. It was all in many ways surreal, still like a dream to him.

This was all to odd. He moved through the day, following classes that he was getting more familiar with. He managed to slip into class before the door closed. Moments later a guy was busting through the door and confessing his love for some girl, who looked like she just wished to vanish. He chuckled a little bit, at the furry dude's comment. His name was...Koa right? He did not remember exactly. The class got more focused, but before long, the flamboyant male from before was up, saying he had to leave and take Koa with him. What was up with that? Curiosity perked in Alejandro...though, it really wasnt any of his business.

He had nodded when Tsukikari confirmed his role. Focus on the guards. He took a seat on a nearby bench to wait. He had hoped they would go first. He was ready to fight; ready to punch something into the dirt. While waiting for their team to be called, he started getting restless. He watched how the other groups preformed. They worked together well, playing off each others strengths. He focused on their movements intently; some stood back to back, covering each others blind spots; in some groups there were snipers positioned above, taking care of threats before they hit the team. Nik couldn't help but wonder how his team would be covered. By him, of course, but how? He'd have to be on the ground in front of them, all around them. He wasn't nimble. He hadn't been trained in evasion. He'd been trained to be the harder hitter.

He was worried about the metal aspects of the building. If there was a door, he could probably easily rip it off its hinges, or force it open. If there was a hidden door? What could he do? He'd need an edge, something to grip. He'd better focus more on these robot guards. Robots: a few punches and they'd be down. Snap their necks, hear the bones crack as they break. Just like the back of a small mammal. One snap and they're dead.Monster... He shook him head. He really needed sleep.

The first thing Nik did was steady himself so he wouldn't fall. He'd never gotten used to the moving floor of the arena. He preferred having hard ground beneath his feet. Falling now would be embarrassing; the entire class seemed focused on their group. Nik smirked. He knew the three of them look like a volatile combination. He had no issue with Tsukikari, and could hold his anger away from Tyrell. He simply wouldn't say anything to counter that. The team stood on the edge of a knife as is. He crouched, getting ready to run. "Say when."

Eliseo's gaze rested on Nisshoku as he spoke up, clarifying each of their roles briefly. It was a relief to at least know that he could take out the.. deatomizer thing. Even with the quick run-down he was given of its capabilities, Eliseo still wasn't even quite sure of what to make of it. He just knew that it was bad, and therefore needed to be put to an end. Cracking his knuckles, he nodded vaguely at Nis' planning. There hadn't been many words exchanged between them, but this was how Eliseo preferred it. It did, however, bother him to some extent to simply go along with the other's words. Was this the best course of action? More so, were they taking the most strategic approach here? Frowning slightly, he tried not to think of it as his gaze instead hovered over the other teams. Eliseo had never gotten along as well with people as others in their groups here seemed to. Some were even laughing and smiling as making plans-- that threw him for a loop. Were they that confident, or just enjoying their groups that much?

Rubbing the back of his head troubledly, he quieted after having readied himself. His energy levels died down, settling within him as he sat in wait of their turn. He had to conserve it, if he was to go all-out after this morning. Perhaps he had been a little overboard in the library. Normally, he wouldn't have gone so far as to destroy an entire room to get to someone. It wasn't a stretch for him to thread the hallways with vines to pin someone down, though. Escape artists were always fun that way. Shaking his head as he realized he had zoned out, determination re-lit his gaze. He had to somehow manage to do well on this, even with teammates he was unsure of. Were they competent?

It was too late to ask himself that. The team wasn't taking a stealthy approach here-- he needed to focus on destroying those security systems quickly. Weapons and other detail mounted in or along walls could be more or less ripped out by vines, but what else he should expect he wasn't sure. Their mission was called. Standing in one smooth motion, Eliseo let out a soft sigh as he made his way casually enough down the bleachers. His posture was rigid as per... always, his mind running off as he began to think of this as a mission from the disciplinary council. Accomplish the objective. As he reached the ring, with the short words from Yamato, he nodded slowly. They could do this; the question was, if they could manage it as a team. As the floor began to lower, Eliseo briefly closed his eyes. With the small start he'd given himself, he hadn't wasted much energy thankfully, and in their short wait he felt he'd collected enough at least to begin. As he opened his eyes and drew in a deep breath, the leaves of the vines wrapped around his arm flourished and moved as if with renewed life. Eliseo's eyes narrowed. He didn't speak a word, but he was ready.

Little did he know, his phone's screen was lighting up within his pocket. New information on Dahlia's case and its status, though for now he wasn't paying attention to such a thing. Eliseo was focused, and that, he believed, was half of the battle of a mission.

Aysel had nodded to him, seeming grateful of the help. He gave her a smile in return, before turning his attention back to the work ahead. The class seemed to drone on, the words of the instructor making many want to fall asleep. Koa made some notes, keeping them neat and tidy as he wrote.
When the male from before spoke, his eyes for a moment brushed over to him. The teacher agreed, and it seemed he was to go with him. It was understandable that they wished to move forward with things. He had not been able to get Aysel’s side of the story however, so he would just have to go off of the slight notes he had made when they spoke earlier. He stood, his things ready to go. The paperwork in hand as well, he was prepared to face what would be coming in not too long of a time.

However, he knew Eliseo would be there as well. Had he gotten the message? He wondered for a moment which class the other was in. Either way, he would in the end have to be at the meeting as well. The court within the discipline hall was a large round room. Along the back wall by the door and moving forward, there would be rows of seats for people to sit in, a wooden rail separating them from the ‘floor’ so to speak, where the actual business of the court happened. As like within a human court, two tables would be set up. One for the accused or the one being dealt with, and another for those doing the accusing or those who were representing the defense committee as in this case. Next in front of that would be a row of high seats and judge boxes for the heads of the discipline hall and the school discipline board. All adults of course. The one in the middle was the highest, for the president. Three on either side, making a total of seven.

They also served as the jury, unless another was specifically put together for a case. In which case, they would sit in a jury box to the right. The walls of the room and the floor were white. The chairs within the room wood with dark maroon upholstery and gold trim. The tables, judge boxes and the jury one would be wood as well. An insignia for the discipline board would be on the front of the main judge’s box in the center. Behind them, a large red tapestry would hang, with gold fringe trim. Upon it, would be the school’s crest. He had seen it before, being part of the committee. Many of the cases that went through it were open to public viewing, but some would be closed off to the public. It depended on the case. He would think this one would be closed off and more private. They would see indeed.

_______________

It was show time. There was no heading back now, as the hologram projections of the room transported them to a new place. The holograms were top noch, and always being advanced. They could go from being the simple see through or untouchable and harmless ones, to solid incredibly realistic ones. Some could even knock someone for a loop. The scene prepared itself, the ground beneath them turning to that of a grassy nature. Trees sprouted, growing up around them. In the distance, the outline of homes could be seen, little huts that signaled the village. Before them however among the trees, a large metal building formed. It reached into the air, looking more like a prison in some ways. The air even smelled like they were outdoors, a breeze fluttering by them. Nisshoku for a moment glanced up at where they had come down. It looked just like he was looking up into the sky. There would be no outside interference now, they either passed or failed as a team.

The scene was quiet for a moment, nothing seemed to move. It made him wonder if this was some kind of ploy. Then, circular spots on the ground began to raise, releasing smoke as they did. Large metal robots lifted out of the ground, each over eight feet tall. One red eye on the front of them began to glow, as they lifted one of their gun like hands. The ends began to light up, as they began to fire. Instinct took over, Nisshoku waved his hand in front of them. A wall of purple energy took the form of a shield before them. The robots began to advance. He frowned slightly, before looking at Nik. He gave a slight nod, before moments later opening a portion within the shield to let him pass through to go after his objective. Once the other was done, he glanced at Eliseo. They needed to move, standing still would do nothing. "Lets go" he said simply, before moving on. Eliseo could choose to follow or stand there.

As he moved, weather Eliseo followed or not, more round portions of the ground would begin to lift. Small guns lifting out of them, swivling to aim at them all. They were being hit by both the robots and the guns. They both had their job, and he had his. The deatomizer. Which meant in turn getting to it. He looked over the wall with a frown. There had to be a way in. It did not look like there were any doors or windows to this things. Portions of the wall opening a bit as well at times to shoot to. He thought, before something coming to his mind. He focused, a purple ball of energy began to form. It then began to grow, growing more and more. It took the form of an anchient animal, but an animal all the same. A T-rex. The eyes glowed lightly, as the large beast came to life. It lifted its head, and let out a loud roar.

Some of the guns turned in its direction, their blasts hitting it. It turned its massive head, clomping massive jaws down on one upon the wall, before ripping it out and tossing it aside like an annoying fly. T-rex had skulls like wrecking balls, able to give out massive force while not doing much damage to themselves. It would be the best option here. Turning back to the wall, the large beast took a step back, crushing a robot in the process. Lowering its head, it snorted before charging forward to ram its head into the side of the building. A large clang echoed, a dent appearing in the wall but it did not fold. Again, they would have to hit it again. The beast moved back, lowering its head once more. It charged, hitting the wall once more. It caved a bit, tearing a small hole in the wall. It had sharp and jagged edges to the wall. One more hit and it would be torn wide open.

Nik half ran, half dove through the gap in Nis's force field - straight into the closest robot. Both he and the bot crashed into a nearby tree with a loud crack that echoed across the arena. Well, there goes the surprise. He hoped the other two would manage. Nik momentarily felt the shock of electricity - something that came with being made of metal - as the bot's circuits fizzled. Hopefully the tree wasn't dry enough to catch fire. Nik pulled himself from the tangle of branches, and machinery. One down... Nik thought, spinning around when the T-Rx roared. So that was how they were getting through the wall. He couldn't have done a better job himself. He turned his attention to the next robot.

They were taller than him; probably something planned by Yamato. He took a brief count. 6...7...8? They kept moving, causing him to loose count. He ran passed the three that were closest to him, dodging their attacks, to tackle the one that was moving toward the others. It didn't go down as easy as the first. The top half turned, grabbing Nik by the shoulders, and began tugging. Nik's feet dug into the ground. He felt a laser, or maybe a bullet graze his upper arm. It caused him to loosen his grip, but he recovered by jabbing the robot in the side. He clawed his hand and reached again, grabbing the bot's side and squeezing until his fingers met. Its side began to spark in Nik's face, hurting his eyes. He yelled as he flung the bot away with all his might. He thought he heard it hit something. More things were bouncing off his skin, he tried to ignore them.

He didn't have much time to think as one of the three he had passed grabbed him and threw him into another very large tree. He felt his back sink into the trunk, his arms stuck by his sides. der'mo... He thought, struggling to get his arms free. His legs were movable, and with them he began kicking hoping the movement would help to free him. He noticed that, in addition to the one firing at him, there were three stalking toward his comrades. "Der'mo." He said through gritted teeth.

As the new atmosphere gathered around them and all was still, Eliseo stood poised as his eyes scanned it with care. There was indeed a village to protect nearby, the fortress was before them, there were new smells, he could feel the grass beneath him... Perfect. Yet, the silence couldn't last long. The giant robots rose up, arms extended to begin firing off at them. Eliseo raised his own arms in preparation to deflect the attack, but then a barrier of a different energy formed before the three of them. Blinking, he lowered his arms as his gaze slid over to Nis. That's right-- this was a team exercise. They each had their job to do. He prepared himself as Nik ran through his opening, starting on the robots as Nis spoke up. Nodding in response, Eliseo started off after him without hesitance. Weapons and traps, heh? He remembered his own goal, not taking long to find the guns lifting from the ground already.

"Tch." Eliseo stopped short in his stride, sending a fist to the earth. A generous impact sounded, but this wasn't his physical strength talking; it was the strength of the vines that shot down his arm and into the ground. They resurfaced about the guns that had begun to fire, curling around them to draw their aim first off of the three of them. This took some effort with a couple larger ones in particular, but that was accomplished. Then, with a considerable pulse of energy down his arm, the vines added pressure enough to bend many of them to a breaking point. Noting some of them were beyond the strength of his work, he ended up dodging a few bullets yet himself, the heat of one blast brushing past him in an all too-realistic manner. Narrowing his eyes on those remaining shooting, with another pulse of energy through his arm and into the vines, those wrapped around the remaining guns penetrated their inner workings, instead ripping apart the wires found controlling them until the rest had indeed been destroyed. That had taken some oomph he hadn't quite planned for. Yet, they weren't done yet. Eliseo noted the dinosaur taking care of making their entry, but more so, he took notice to the robots left standing.

Where was Nik? Turning on his heel in time to see his comrade being thrown into the tree, he left out a slight huff. At this rate, Eliseo thought he may be out of energy before they even penetrated that fortress. Weak. Curling his fists again, he crouched, and decided on an easier path. The vines didn't reform-- that took too much power to make something small expand like so. However, that massive tree already standing behind Nik would do. Crouching once more with a palm upon the earth, Eliseo drove his attention there. Its roots curled up and lifted Nik from where he had been thrown, as if a person lifting him from behind. However, it didn't further tend to assist him. Instead, its lengths of great, pre-existing roots shot forward to bind two of the robots left, at least ceasing their shooting. The third, however, yet lumbered on towards himself and Nis. Darting forwards with an arm raised to shield himself just a bit, he felt a shot from it penetrate him near the elbow, but didn't focus on the sting of that pang. Instead, he gripped its nearest limb with his vine-covered arm and allowed the plant to rush forwards, wrapping the last one in a successful bind as well. Eliseo didn't want to put forth the energy to fully crush the robots he had bound, too-- he was trying to time his consumption. At least they were now down for the count.

Instead, looking to Nik, he assumed the other to be alright and capable of now finishing them himself. Eliseo's jaw tensed as he eyed the dinosaur now, seeming close to breaking through... Focus. Conserve your energy. As he stood from where he had crouched, leaving the tree's roots binding the robots, Eliseo took a couple of deep breaths. This was definitely going to be interesting after this morning's little 'workout'.

It had seemed they had beat the robots, but things were not always as they seemed. Even though a moment of time was left for them to breath, more spots within the earth began to open up. The others had only merely been the first wave. On top of this, more guns began to pop out of other places. Out of trees, the building, the ground and more. They had only just begun to scratch the outside defences. Luckily, the T-rex lowered its head one final time and rammed into the wall. A large enough opening, it shook its head, before taking a step back. Nisshoku reached a hand up to gently pet it, before glancing back at the others. They seemed to have done well, but he did not know how much they would be able to take out here. The T-rex turned, giving another roar. It moved forward, towards the robots now approaching the others. With one swift turn of its tail, it sent many of them flying, creating enough of a path.

It then vanished, the guns still a bit of a problem though, but if they moved he was sure they could handle it. His eyes turned back to the inside of the building, it was dark, really dark. It did not look like there was any light on inside. He moved inside, surveying the sceene as he waited for the others to come in. They did not have time for this. As he waited, the inside of the building came into focus. A long and sleek metal hall, to which no sound or movement came at the moment. Once they were inside, he turned to the wall. They could help if they wished, as he began to return the edges of the opening in the wall to their origional positions. It cut them off enough for now from the outside, stopping the guns from hitting them as well. Silence would surround them once this was done, there was no going back now. They were left to make their way down the hall.

As they did, nothing moved. No robots, no traps, no nothing. Nisshoku did not get a good feeling about it, something seemed a little to easy about all of this. He glanced back to say something, when the entire floor beneith them gave out. There was no where to jump to or to avoid it, unless one could fly. The surprise of it most likely keeping things like that from coming to the trio immediately. Falling down through darkness, soon enough they would all land on a hard surface that would most likely knock the wind out of them from the height. Nisshoku placed a hand to his head, well that had most likely been less than fluent or smooth. He blinked a bit, lifting his hand to create a slight orb of purple light around his hand. Through it, he could see the other two. "Are you alright?" he asked, without really thinking about it. He stood, feeling a bit of sore protest from his body in the process.

The light showed them to be in a large metal room. His eyes scanning the scene, landed on a large contraption that looked similar to a furnace. That...couldn't be. The front of it began to glow red. The machine activated itself, casting the room in a menacing red glow. The large machine sending a slight chill through Nisshoku, even if it was just a hologram, not reall. The diatomizer was huge. Movement to their side made him look. Out of the shadows, a huge robot stood up to a massive height, that towared several times above what the others had. This one could easily step on them and squish them like bugs if it wished to. It let out a metalic like sound, eyes glowing red, before the arm lifted and changed into a similar gun like object the others had had. It was most likely dawning on the others, as it was dawning on him. The scene out front had been child's play. This was where the mission really began. A countdown clock appearing above the weapon, they had little time to waste.

The two walked awkwardly in the silence, only their footsteps echoing down the empty hallway. Ekan didn’t like running errands, he especially didn’t like playing fetch. He recognized Koa as being an important person in disciplinary situations, and wondered for a moment why he, who didn’t have anything to do with the case and probably would not be allowed to stay for the hearing, should be the one to retrieve the students she had asked for. His pocket vibrated again, another message. “If I did not clarify, please bring them to ME, I would speak with them first. I will be in the chamber just outside the official courtroom.” She always did this, it seemed as though she not only could see the future, but read his mind as well. He knew she really could not though, and it crushed him a bit that she found him, even in his thoughts, to be so predictable.

He raked a hand through his hair, the corner of his mouth turning up into an absent-minded smirk. If he was to be on this little quest he may as well try to enjoy himself, or at the very least learn something from the experience. Speaking up in a cheery tone, he turned to look at Koa,“Since we will be on this short journey together, I suppose a proper introduction is in order. I am called Ekan Andith, Mari-Natum delegate and psychic-in-training from the underwater city of Aurea.” He extended his hand out, attempting to enact the formal handshake of the surface people. He would much rather try to be friends with this stranger than to hold onto his irritation from earlier. He realized that it was pointless to hold a grudge against someone for calling him a human, there was no way Koa could have been aware that he was a fish, he looked like a human after all. And he couldn’t rightly hold a grudge for the peacock comment, however much it stabbed at his ego, it wasn’t as if the comment was to him directly.

He quickly turned his attention away from his thoughts and back to Koa.“I will be taking you to speak with my mentor, Blindfold. I suppose she has seen something in your future that she deems to be very important for you to know before this disciplinary trial. The details I am unsure of, she does not disclose that kind of information to those it does not directly affect. First, however, we will be retrieving the disciplinarian Eliseo Tyrell. It seems as though your two fates are intertwined. Suffice it to say that this is not very surprising.”

Ekan continued to walk at a brisk pace as he spoke, making a sharp left, and then another into an isolated hallway with four sets of sleek silver doors at the end. This was the elevator that would take them to the Holo-training floor, a massive complex of arenas fitted with the most advanced in hologram projection technology. The arenas were mostly used by lower classmen attempting to hone their battle skills with artificial enemies before they were placed with a mentor and allowed on real missions, but sometimes instructors would utilize the floor for specific exercises that pertained to their area of expertise, or to build on a certain skill set, such as stealth, teamwork, or situational awareness. Young Justice wanted to make sure that its students graduated with the ability to stay two steps ahead of their enemies.

The Mari reached out to press the elevator call button, and sighed impatiently at the wait, thinking out loud as he stood with his arms crossed, "Though, it does make one wonder what events she has foreseen that she deemed so important as to call on the both of you before the official trial." Finally, the silver doors slowly sliding open, he slipped inside and held down the sleek round button that kept the false fourth wall of the box open, waiting for Koa to step inside as well before they descended into the seemingly endless depths of their school complex onto the observing floor.

Koa walked alongside the other in silence. He said nothing, though the silence did make him wonder. Was the other upset with him? He glanced at him as he checked his phone. The other then lifted his hand, after speaking that they should introduce themselves. He accepted the hand, introducing himself as well, as well as trying to explain his comment. "I am Koa Rashid. My comment earlier was not meant to upset you, and I apologize if it did so. I was merely attempting to help out our female counterpart...she seemed uncomfortable with the attention of our classmates upon her, so it was best to shift the focus to help correct?" He turned, continuing to walk with him as he talked on. The other said he was to speak with his mentor. She wanted to talk to him about his future?

He frowned lightly, but said nothing. He knew of some that could see the future, there were even some of his people rumored to have such gifts. It made him a tad uncomfortable though, that people were looking into something so personal of his without his permission or knowledge. He knew some could not help it, bit ohers had a choice. Shaking off this thought, Ekan mentioned finding Eliseo first. Their fates were entertwined? They worked together within the disciplinary committee...so it was not to far of to say their fates were bound...right? He followed him to the elevators, glancing at him for a moment as they did. He spoke, though Koa wondered if the thought was really meant to be shared. The two stepping inside to the elevator. He thought himself about the answer. "I do not have many dealings in such events, so it is uncertain to me as well" it was an answer, weather the other was seeking one or not.

Eliseo was in class at the moment, which made Koa slightly wonder what they were up to. At the same time, he was slightly unsure about all of this work with the trial. It should go over nicely, but there was no telling for sure. He took a breath, deciding that silence might not be to comfortable for either of them. At the same time, talking might not be either. He took a chance anyways, glancing at him again. "So you are from the ocean then?" he smiled lightly, "I have not been able to see it yet....but I wish to eventually, when I am able.." he glanced at the sensor reading the floor. "I am not from this land either, though I suppose it is much easier to distinguish this from my appearance.." he was well aware of how he looked. He wondered for a moment what the other thought when he saw him. Those who were from a different land could be a tad more accepting of those who did not look like the humans here...though some of them were similar to these humans, in the sense that those who did not look like them were considered odd.

With Eliseo's help, he'd defeated the robots outside. Good thing the other boy was good with plants, or Nik would have been stuck in that tree for a while. He'd obediently followed his group members into the dark castle. Always dark, he thought, can't they afford proper lights? Not only was it completely dark, it was eerily silent. Nik swore he could hear the others' heart beating. Maybe it was just his own, echoed. He was about to ask when the treacherous floor betrayed him. As long as he lived, Nik would never trust a floor again; especially at this school. He didn't like the feeling of weightlessness that falling gave him. He was solidly built, like a tree, and need to be rooted firmly on the ground. Speaking of ground, Nik hit hard wen it rushed in to catch them.

White dots swam in front of his eyes, and he was thankful that he was covered in metal- his head had hit the floor the hardest. He blinked a few times, the dots dimmed, but didn't disappear completely. "Der'mo." Nik replied to Tsukikari. He shook his head, forcing the dot to spin, then said again. "Yeah." Nik was a bit dizzy, but stood anyway. The room swayed a bit before becoming stable. It would take about 30 second for the vertigo to go away; Nik knew that from experience. He'd fallen from more than one tree, ledge, or building. It had all been part of training at the professor's school; they jumped off things for fun.

"Der'mo." Nik swore when he saw the giant machine. They were suppose to destroy that? A noise to his left alerted him to another presence. Another robot. It was taller than Nik thought possible for the arena they were in. It's not real. That thing couldn't possibly kill them. Then again... Nik remembered how beat up the other teams had been after their missions. Some of them had potentially broken bones- whether physical or mental, there had been a lot pain involved. This fight would hurt.

Nik angled his body, dug his feet - as much as he could - into the ground, and prepared to run full force at the robot's leg. I don't know if I can do this... Nik thought, making eye contact with Tsukikari and nodding. "Now or never, I guess?" He grinned nervously. He'd been confident with the smaller robots. This one... It made him doubtful, and nervous. Nervousness could lead to a mistake, and one mistake could change the outcome of the mission. Nik knew that their mission was being watched closely by more than just Yamato. What would the other's think if this team failed? Nik had heard the girls whispering about how volatile this team was. Nik was worried that Yamato's decision would blow up in everyone's faces.
