Last friday, my friend and I had a conversation on the bus talking about emo bands. xD I, personally, love their music, even though I'm a pretty bright, happy person myself. What band do you think is the most emo, and which emo band do you like the best? 8O

besides being talented, there is no way any of the new "emo" bands can get more emo than them.
Especially The Smiths.

My friend recently recommended "The Rocket Summer" to me, and in my opinion, they're pretty emo. Their lyrics aren't sad and depressing, its just the way they sing...I dunno...
But yeah :) Their song 'brat pack' is a good one to listen to.

Oh, I also forgot to list "pedro the Lion" never have I heard a bad that was soo depressing and down. It flat out made me want to kill myself.

Oh my xD So you made this board. Well, AFI and Linkin park are pretty dang emo xD Hawthorn Hights and My Chemical Romance strike pretty highup there, too.

To me, the most emo band is Hawthorne Heights, all their songs are about is like, just icky. xD

AFI, I don't know if they are super emo, but maybe slightly. xD

Sometimes Asian Kung-fu Generation is emo, but it depends, some of their earlier songs and a couple of their songs from Fanclub are emo. @_@ Especially Butterfly, that song says Knife in it, so that's a sign. xD :lol:

I'm sick of people calling MCR emo. They aren't slashing their wrists or whining over ex girlfriends. There's a difference between emo and a sad lovesong.
Besides, their newest album kicks ass, and is really different from their past stuff.
I'd have to say Dashboard, just because it sounds so whiny. Dx

I'm shit with genres, though, so I wouldn't know what emo really is.

MCR and fall out boy have to top the list of emo bands .. well-known ones, at least. i, myself, dont like emo music. i just thought i'd give my input <<3

The most emo, IMO, is Evanescence.

However, I don't have a "favorite" emo band - I really, really don't like emo music.

Most of those are pretty emo, but you all forgot Aiden!! They start out emo, and end it with them being 10x more! I love them though, they take my bright and happy personality and make it the BRIGHTEST and HAPPIEST person in my school =]

Also, Cute Is What We Aim For is not bad either. I've been listening to them all week. Pretty amazing, just makes you want to dance!
