Only Time Will Tell

Name: Jack Eversons
Age: 26
Information: Jack lives by himself with no one else around, his ex is a stalker, and had lost it after their break up. She was more crazy than she had chosen to let on and visits the bar all the time. The bar had been in his friend's family for over 6 generations and now Jack works there thanks to connections. He likes to hang in the attic on his breaks and see if anything cool or interesting might be up there. That and he just likes to relax up there while on break.
Occupation: Host at a Bar
Appearance:
Jack walked in wearing a nice, casual, and laid back suit that was a deep blue, but not too dark, and not too light. He didn't bother with his jacket even though it was slightly sprinkling outside as he took a seat at the bar. The walls were a deep and dark red matching the floor almost which was a hard floor material in case others got sick. It would be easier to take care of that way and looks nicer too. "So where's my first table?" Jack asked as Marice behind the bar poured him a single glass of Rum Chata. "Table four has been asking you for an hour, tablet two wants to do more than just talk, and they want you to leave with them. It's your call boss" Jack had taken the boss leadership role for over two years now and his friend had been trying to settle down more with a family. So as long as his friend Kane chose to pay the bills, there was no problems within the work place, and they could keep working there like nothing was wrong.

The lights flickered slightly getting Jack's attention making him shake his head finishing his drink and walking over to tablet four. Sitting down with the ladies he began flirting with them to make them happy he came this evening. The next day was his day off and he would plan on ignoring the phone all day if he had to. Most of the time he worked evenings, but he was starting to think days were easier and had less...well willing girls that wanted to go out with him. If only they knew a bit more about him, but even in the workplace that wouldn't work. Women were the reason the bar was in great shape since they came in always spending their money to hang out and talk to a good looking guy.

Oliver "Ollie" James Barton
Senior Spec Ops Agent
Twenty-eight years of age
Military-cut raven hair with spiked up bangs
Dark olive-green eyes with gold flecks in them
Stands 6-foot, 2-inches tall

DISTINGUISHING MARKS
  • Extremely broad shoulders despite having an average build
  • Scar over left eyebrow that runs down across eye (causes some discoloration in his left eye; looks duller than the right)
  • Small scar on the left of his lips that's about the length of the width of his lips; hardly noticeable unless up-close
  • Notch missing out of his left ear and two 2-inch long, 1/4-inch wide scratches that start above his ear and run toward his jaw
  • Missing two fingers on his left hand (pinky and ring fingers)

UNIQUE TRAITS
  • Always has a condescending voice -- not because he is, it's just his voice; it's very gruff and conceited sounding
  • Only wears dark colored clothing consisting of black or gray; sometimes dark fed or green
  • Always seen wearing a custom-made glove on his left hand; the thumb and pinky and ring" fingers are exposed while the middle and index are covered in black fabric. There's a reflective plate across the top of the hand that reads his military number: OJB007073
  • Tends to touch his left ear when nervous or worried

GENERAL DEMEANOR
  • Keeps to self a lot and tries to avoid developing relationships, except with other high-ranking officers
  • Very sympathetic; a lot of soldiers open up to him as he's known to give great advice (and keep secrets)
  • Humble; if given bread, he's the type of man to share it but he'll do so without being giddy
  • Yet hardened; as duly noted by the number of scars and tears on his body, he's seen some action. It really takes a lot to rile him up or get under his skin
  • When drunk, very cheeky and likeable

"Close the blast doors," he shouted over the sound of gunfire and explosions boomed in the background. As a shell landed close to his feet, the dirt the sprayed up caused the male to growl.

"Really?"
Snapping his head to the soldier beside him. "You couldn't close the blast door. And now we get to die and start over... again."

Sure enough, the shell burst apart and forced the simulation to end. It was training day for new recruits and Senior Spec Ops Agent Oliver Barton was tasked with picking out his replacement squad mates.

Stepping from the simulation machine, he pinched the bridge of his nose while bearing his teeth. Hand up, he signaled that he did not want to talk. There was no way he wanted to chat about a third failed attempt.

"We're done for today. I am sick of getting blown up. We'll try again tomorrow."

Head shaking, the raven with the military-cut hair shuffled his way out of the simulation station. There was no need to be here anymore. It would just piss him off. Ollie wasn't usually this bad but today, ugh, it just was one nightmare after the next.

Rubbing his face with his 3-fingered hand, he grunted while walking to the water machine. Pouring out a nice glass of fresh water, he downed it in a second before refilling to splash some on his face. The water always seemed to follow the scarred contours that ran down his lip and eyebrow so most of the water was falling off the left-side of his face.

"Gah," he crumpled up the paper cup before ditching it in the trash. It was time to get a strong, hard drink. Something to kick out the aches of today.

While walking to the bar, he reeled back to check a brick he had recently discovered. It seemed different and he was enjoying the odd properties it had. Whenever he removed the brick and put something where the brick once was, it would magically vanish and never return. Today, he patted his pocket, he was going to try dropping a letter in the presumed wormhole.

"Here goes nothing," he said. Letter in, brick back, he nodded and continued on his way. Tomorrow he'd check to see if anything happened.

"Oh Christina said she found a new man for the week, well I say it's a week, she says it's forever..." the women's gossip began circling the bar as Jack excused himself saying it was time for a refreshment which in other words it was break time. He nodded to Caroline who took over behind the bar seeing as it was quitting time for the last bar tender, and he had been there already for four hours. Sometimes it seemed longer to him and other times it felt like a complete waste of time.

"I'll be upstairs" Jack winked at Caroline who kept humming to herself as she said "Don't go anywhere" course he thought she was kidding, but Caroline was always in touch with her supernatural side of life. Jack unlocked the old door walking up the creaky steps which made a unique sound no one could hear with all the commotion downstairs. Though Jack had come in early before to take note of the notes and finally remembered them enough to unlock the door at the top of the steps. Unlocking it while pushing it slightly open he walked in closing the old wooden wall behind him. He found it one day out of curiosity and realized the door looked like a wall to keep others out away from it. Though once the door was shut it wouldn't open for an hour and those inside were stuck there.

Walking over to an old couch he sat down, there were a few bats that lived up in the ceiling, but they were harmless. Just some night creatures looking for a place to sleep during the day. "Hey guys" he joked talking to the bats, sure he would seem strange to do this, and no it wasn't because he didn't have friends. Jack had alot of friends, just not the ones he wanted to talk to, and he was missing the mystery side of life. For some time he noticed the hole at where a brick was loose would have some interesting things in it, but he never tried putting anything there for himself. This time he opened it only to find a piece of parchment with ink scribbled on it.

That was certainly odd to him, he wondered where it came from, only he knew about the room and how to get into it with the sounds of the steps. Not caring to wait to let his thoughts wonder, he opened the letter to see what it would say, and that was the part that excited him the most.
