They just felt that Tamora was doing a Japanese equivalent in the novels to be popular (aside from the fact she's made an equivalent to every race on Earth) with the growing fad. She felt that Tamora neednt include the Yamani aspects into the book.. Even though Kel had been raised there and it's as much her thing as animals were Daine's. I tried to explain taking away the Yaman heritage made Kel very 2-dimensional but.. To no avail.

I know the two stories to knighthood are very different than the other.. I enjoyed both immensly. Some though may just believe she could have done something new rather than knighthood because Daine was so different than the two.

I'd have been disappointed to not have Kel's story.

I'm not really sure when Kel's books were published so I have no idea what was going on at the time, especially in literature; I always seem to be several years behind what's "in."
