Betoverde Tavern

Betoverde Tavern is hidden from the main road in a beautiful and lush green forest. Behind the tavern is a large crescent shaped lake that has one very deep abyss running longways in the center. The lake also has various hot springs scattered about the edges. On the other side of the lake are huge, breathtaking mountains and a fairly large village that creates a beautiful twinkling of lights after dark.

To the left of the tavern is a babbling brook that leads in one direction to a tall waterfall in the forest, and in the other direction to the lake where it ends just a few feet from a long wooden dock jetting out over the water. Off to the right of the tavern, in a forest clearing but not too far from sight, is a designated fire pit area where patrons have been known to roast marshmallows or watch the stars.

Despite the peaceful and beautiful appearance of the tavern and the things that surround it, there are frightful stories that have kept people away for quite some time. Some stories say the tavern is owned by witches who harvest the souls of those who come to stay. Others say the tavern is cursed, using it's beauty to draw beings in to keep them there forever.

In the dark of the night it is said that mythical forest creatures venture to the tavern following the scents and sounds of life. Some stories say those creatures are werewolves and even ogres or other evil forest beings. Many things are said, but no one has known anyone to venture into the forest to Betoverde Tavern and return. One thing is for certain, strange things do occur there, be it in the lake, the surrounding forest, or inside the tavern itself. Are you brave enough to stay the night?

{To be clear; the forest itself is cursed, as well as the tavern. One could try and leave, but they will always be returned to the tavern, no matter which direction they set off in. That is of course, if they survive the creatures and trials of the forest.}

**Anyone at any time can play the part of a forest creature/being or create a natural disaster. Also, the tavern itself enjoys toying with, and playing tricks on it's patrons. I will certainly be posting things like that, but you're welcome to as well, but only things that affect your character (you can't control the tavern to toy with someone else).**

RULES
- Follow Menewsha rules and TOS at all times.
- If you do not post at least one paragraph of literate writing (4-5 sentences) with capitalization, punctuation, etc. (No one is perfect, but this isn't a text message) you will be asked to leave. This is meant to be fun, but enjoyable and not a hot mess.
- No OOC drama. Keep the drama between the characters.
- Romance and violence are strongly encouraged, but keep it PG-13.
- I reserve the right to remove you from the RP if I see fit and to revise the rules at any time I see fit.
- At your first post, add a picture of your character and a brief description of him/her and his/her personality or other things we should know about the character and then go on with your post!
- Have fun!

Abhiti, or simply, Biti. She is a genie, but a very very mischievous one. She has no master, nor does she plan to. She loves playing pranks on people and toying with them, although not in harmful ways. She's light-hearted and fun, but she's a fairly new genie. While she's still learning the tricks of the trade, she has no power once night falls. She has waist length chestnut colored hair, golden eyes and stands at 5'3". No, she doesn't live in a bottle.

Biti was laying across the bar top, dressed in a pair of skinny jeans and a flowing spaghetti strapped top with peachy floral designs. Her hair was straight and free and she wore a long beautiful silver necklace with an embossed flower at the end and a matching ring on her left ring finger. She stared up towards the ceiling, watching as the tavern cat floated and flipped around above her chasing a small mouse.

She'd used her magic to grant them both the power of flight, and now with great amusement, she watched the unusual acrobatics of the furry pair. From time to time she'd let out a small giggle and cover her mouth to keep from being too loud as she shifted her eyes around to make sure no one had entered while she hadn't noticed.

~~~*~~~*~~~
Ren Carslisle. Ren is a boisterous fellow. He looks to be in his mid twenties although his age isn't entirely know since he's none other than, a werewolf. He ages much slower than a regular human and has twice the strength and speed. He's fun loving guy, a real jokester. He's always positive and always down to party. His eyes are hazel and his hair is brown. He's very muscular and stands at about 5'8". His body temperature is warmer than that of a humans, and when he gets angry, he can't control his werewolf form. Lucky for everyone, he never gets angry.
Ren clodded down the stairs with a wide mouthed yawn and a giant stretch. He was wearing a pair of faded jeans, no shirt, and no shoes. Immediately he saw Biti and her personal circus at the bar. A wide grin came over his face at the sight of the two furry animals flying around the tavern ceiling.
"Mornin' little bit," he said to Biti as he moved around the bar to pour himself a cup of joe. He'd been living here for months now. Not by choice, of course, this damn forest wouldn't let him leave. But honestly, he liked it here. It was beautiful and secluded and Biti was a real hoot to have around.
He picked up the coffee pot, it was empty. "Bit, you didn't make coffee again today," he said. "What if you get another traveler through here who isn't as awesome as I am and needs their coffee every morning?" He turned to face Biti with his empty coffee cup in hand. He was still smiling, as always.
Biti simply turned her head towards him for a brief moment, pointed at his cup, smiled and went back to watching the furry pair of animals at the ceiling and giggling. Ren looked down at his now full cup. "Now that's more like it." He raised the cup to his lips and took a careful sip to avoid burning himself.
Immediately his eyes widened. "Hot chocolate. Very funny," he said with a chuckle as he stood to watch the animals for a moment, too.
Daralis walked along with a look full of wonder upon her young seeming features. This place was just so wide! She'd never been in a forest before, and found herself wanting to run along simply to enjoy the feeling of this new place and the smells rushing into her nose. With that she was off, long purple hair streaming behind her in graceful waves. Laughter bubbled up from her lips as her sneakered feet pounded upon the ground.
It was rather strange to see how she was dressed. A long chocolate colored coat embroidered with emerald leaves adorned her shoulders, while a frilly ruby red dress fell to her knees, then there was the pair of white capris under it all and the worn out woolen socks adorning her feet along with her sneakers. It was rather an eclectic sight, but considering her place of origin, it wasn't quite so surprising.
This was her first time away from the market between worlds, and of course Daralis just had to go and find someplace she'd be stuck in. Not that she knew that as she walked into the Inn with her pink eyes alight. This was just the place for her newest adventure to begin! "Hello, is there perhaps someone who could tell me more about this Inn? I've come from oh so far away and this place seems so wonderful!" Deceptively sweet and innocent seeming, that's what the woman was. She knew exactly how to defend herself, and carried many hidden daggers upon her person.
The red headed vampire had run away from the Abandoned Inn to this place. Faced with Loki's wrath and Amadeo's self defeat, he hadn't known what else to do. Dressed in a simple white blouse, an aristocratic dark red coat and black pants, he appeared every inch the noble monster. Though of course, he felt anything but noble after the unforgivable things he'd done. Betraying Loki had probably been the worst decision he'd ever made.
How could it have been anything else, when Regan had been the one to do the seducing? With a shake of his head, the vampire sped trough the forest at a furious pace. Pushing himself to his limits seemed like the only way to chase away such thoughts from his mind. This was after all why'd he'd run. No, it wasn't that! Running had been a way to gain more time to think out the situation, and try to find some middle ground that didn't seem so selfish or hurtful to any party. If that wasn't an impossible task, he didn't know what was.
Arriving near the Inn, Regan slowed his pace and watched as a purple haired woman stepped inside with a light footfall. He followed behind her silently and let her take everyone's attention as he slipped quietly to an empty table in the corner of the room.
As soon as the tavern door opened the cat and mouse fell from the ceiling. The cat landed on it's feet on the bar, and the mouse landed in Biti's hand before poofing into thin air. She sat up quickly and levitated herself up from the counter to swing her legs off the side to stand.
"Welcome to Betoverde Tavern," she said in a bubbly voice. "I'm Biti. This place is wonderful. There's a beautiful lake out back with hot springs, and a waterfall about a mile in that direction." Biti pointed towards a wall in the tavern. Immediately a window formed there and played a picture of the waterfall.
Biti smiled a cocky smile. It always fascinated people when she did those things. "The bar and kitchen are a free fer all," she added, "I don't play maid." She leaned against the bar and rested her head on her palm. "You'll be needing a room." With that, a key appeared in front of Daralis. Biti knew she probably wouldn't be leaving any time soon. It took a level headed person free of any negativity and pain to get out of this forest. Few ever left alive.
~~~*~~~*~~~

The entire time Biti showed off, Ren stood just off to the side, sipping at his hot chocolate that he really wished was coffee, and rolling his eyes from time to time. When Biti finally stopped talking, Ren moved to lean his side against the same side of the bar Daralis was on. He gave her his widest smile, "I'm Ren, I live here, too." Of course, that was only because he couldn't leave, but nevertheless he lived there.

Already Ren was flirting with his eyes. "You want me to make you a drink? I make a mean drink." Biti was probably the one rolling her eyes now. It wasn't even noon yet and he hadn't even finished his hot chocolate, that he didn't even want. He shifted his eyes to look at the man who'd entered and sat at a back table, then he and Biti shared a glance and a shrug. If he wanted to be bothered, he would have come to them, right? Who knew? Neither of them ran this place, or knew how to properly anyway.

~~~*~~~*~~~
Vexaline. Vex is a smooth talking, con-you-out-of-your-clothes kind of gal. She's beautiful, curvy, charismatic and sassy. She grew up an orphan and recently escaped from a very bad relationship, although she's a tough girl and tries not to let it show. She has long loose-curly blonde hair and amethyst colored eyes. She stands at about 5'5".
Vexaline hopped out of the wagon and waved it off as it disappeared into the distance. She'd hitched a ride with a band of traveling gypsies to get to this "amazing tavern" she was told of a few years ago, but they refused to enter the forest. Some superstitious crap reasons.
She smiled to herself as she headed down the trail. Soon the gypsies would realize that at least half of their jewelry was missing, but it would be too late, they wouldn't dare travel into the forest in search of her. They'd been kind enough to lend her some clothing and she wore a long flowing skirt ordained with gold pieces that jingled when she walked, and a half shirt that ended just below her breasts. The sleeves went down to her wrists in a soft sheer fabric and her blonde hair was pulled back with a bandanna.
Now, thanks to her stealing skills, she also had an assortment of beautiful gold bracelets and anklets, earrings, and necklaces. She smiled again with rouged lips. She'd been traveling for two days now and that hadn't been quite long enough to heal her busted bottom lip or bruised cheek. Nor had it been long enough to heal the bruises that lined her wrists, her throat and other various places.
She wasn't sure when exactly it was she finally came to her senses, but finally, she had. She'd packed up the few belongings she had, and left in the middle of the night while Jinsu was sleeping. Now, here she was stepping up to the door of this amazing tavern, starting a new chapter in her life.
Vex pushed the door open and stepped inside making a beeline to the bar where she sat and waited for service.
She giggled softly at how the woman was acting and using magic left and right. It made Daralis feel right at home. With a bright smile she snatched the key from the air and slipped it onto a piece of rope she'd had tied around her wrist. The improvised necklace hung comfortably around her neck.
Turning her smile to the taller man, Daralis tilted her head to the side thoughtfully before nodding vigorously. "Sure! I'd love to see what you can come up with. My name's Daralis." Drinking at any time of the day was fine with her, just as long as she didn't have too much or do it too often.
She waved genially at the newest arrival, and watched with curiosity for a few moments as a red haired man moved quietly to her side to murmur a few soft words.
Regan would have stayed where he was if he'd not seen Vex enter the Inn. A smile, with fangs flashing, dawned upon his features as he moved to her side. Though as he arrived the vampire couldn't help but noticed the wounds upon her wrists. Bending his head down, he pressed a hand softly to her back for a moment.
"Vex, are you alright? It's me, Regan..." He hoped she didn't ask about Loki, but knew she would.
Miyanne Miya
Simple minded, wanderer, and a modern day bard. Carries an acoustic guitar and tons of music and college ruled paper and pencils. Talks when spoken to, and sings when she has a story to tell. 22 years old and human with a trace fey. Stands at 5'8.
Miya opened her eyes and blinked, there was a roof above her head. She lay there staring for a little while and then sat up, looking around at the wooden room. The bed was simple, but comfortable a white sheet under her and a white blanket over her. She looked at her clothes, and saw she was in her pajamas, however she did not remember how she got there or when she put on her pajamas to sleep. She didn't even know where she is, looking slowly around the room she finally stood and looked out the window. The window looked over a large lake that was in all honesty gorgeous.
Miya took off the bottoms of her pajamas then the top and found where her jacket and dress were. She slipped that on then her tassled deer skin boots. Her guitar was on the bed so she picked it up and placed it back into it's case which was by the door where a dresser was. She checked the baggy pocket on the front for her paper and pencils, several notebooks and folders fit in there nicely. Extra strings were in the upper pocket and she decided she was ready to go.
Honestly, all she could remember was an earthquake however, how would that have moved her from one place to another? Did she get knocked out and moved? She was not sure, but she hoped to find out in this stranger's... a step out of the room told her it was an inn, the whole hallway had doors to rooms. There were many doors and there was another flight up. Blinking at the flight up with sleepy eyes she walked down stairs where the noises of every day life was taking place.
As she clomped down the stairs she finally saw a big guy that seemed good humored, a vixen looking woman talking to a purple haired girl and suddenly a blond walked in. She scanned the room and spotted someone in a corner alone and she quickly looked away unconcerned.
She sat down not sure what else to do, people were coming in so she thought it'd be rude to leave while people were coming.
Ajax Jack
Ajax is around 100 something years old, however that's closer to 17 in human years. He's giggly, and talkative, a compulsive liar and seems to have a grasp on time magic. He can rewind by a few seconds, however it's more like illusions since he can show you several seconds into the future or replay the past and that's easier for him to do. Jack is part of a slaved race within the forest. He stands at 5'2.
Jack had been watching people all night, giggling and laughing as he watched the fools enter the forest and go into the tavern. He wasn't allowed to play his tricks yet, so he couldn't freak them out prior to arriving to the tavern. Jack sat on his butt, petting his head of feathers, Jack reassured himself that he could go in soon. He just had to get word to enter. There was one fool still wandering the forest though, he wondered what that person was doing? Did they know what they were in for?
Jack flew up to a high branch, there was his favorite fruit, a pointy looking fruit that was colored pink and purple, he wasn't sure of the name but it was sour and delicious. He bit into the soft fruit and chomped it as he watched through a random window that had appeared down there that day. Nothing too interesting was going on, so he flew down and landed on the roof, he clung to the roof with his feet and hung upside down, looking in windows. He looked lower and saw a red head go up to the blonde one.
Raising an eyebrow, he was completely curious. He was itching to go inside, just absolutely dying to go inside. He then heard a peculiar voice say a peculiar word that immediately made him drop down to the ground, brush himself off and walk in half naked. The voice had told him, "Enter." He was wearing some shorts and had dirt all up his calves and even some smudged on his cheek. "Hello, Bitti." He smiled, it wasn't the first time he's entered and certainly not the last.
Jack laughed, "How is everybody? Come on, liven it up!" Jack saw many new faces though, it has certainly been too long since he's last stepped into the inn, he walked behind the counter and giggled. "So, is the kitchen still open?" he asked not caring about the answer. He looked through the cupboards and found some dry food. "Ugh, you should really get some fruit in here!" He added under his breath, "You'd smell better."
OOC: I hope you don't mind I was hoping that he can have a past with Bitti and Regan, he comes off as the extremely annoying type... Like a parrot! :D They're annoying, and never shut up! If it's not ok, lemme know and I'll edit this post. Thank you. :heart:
(( I love the charries Ana! But Regan wouldn't have been running from the Inn before, he's got a past with Vex and Ren - although he doesn't know about Ren yet, and just arrived there. Lol just a little drama we've cooked up between the few of them. :P He can certainly know Biti though, she actually owns the place. ;) ))
Vex nearly fell off of her bar stool at the sound of someone speaking her name. Who on Earth would know her here? Thankfully, the gentle hand on her back kept her on her seat. Amethyst eyes, wide with shock and wonder found their way up the slender body of the redhead to meet a familiar pair she'd known not so long ago.
Immediately, Vex grinned wildly and hopped up to wrap her arms around Regan's neck in a hug. "Regan! I didn't think I'd ever see you again!" She completely ignored his question. No, she wasn't okay, but she was getting there, especially now that an old friend like Regan was here to keep her company.
Her eyes scanned the room for a moment. Was he alone? "Where's Loki?" She was curious how Loki had been, too. But the scars at her ribs hadn't let her forget the things he'd done. Still, she was smiling, she couldn't help it. She was happy to see Regan and there was no hiding it. It had been quite some time since she'd felt such joy.
~~~*~~~*~~~

Ren's grin widened even when it seemed impossible. "A woman who drinks before noon... The Gods have granted my wishes!" He made his way around the bar. "Biti, you aren't playing tricks on me are you? It's not every day you get a beautiful woman in here who's willing to drink with me at breakfast time." He paused and looked down at himself remembering he was still shirtless. "Or who hasn't fainted yet from the sheer brilliance of my bod."

He flashed them both a cocky smile. Cocky, he certainly was. He had good reason. Within moments, Ren had two drinks mixed up and on the bar. They were fruity numbers, just how he liked them in the early hours of the day. He picked up his glass in a toast and waited for her to do the same, never breaking eye contact as he spoke, "To a beautiful new friendship..."

~~~*~~~*~~~
Biti groaned at Ren's antics. He was such a ham. She was about to use a little mischievous magic to foil his flirting attempts when a girl appeared from upstairs. Blinking owlishly at the female, Biti moved to lean over the bar, levitating as she leaned further and further into the girl's personal space. "Where did you come from?"
If she leaned over any farther, the poor girl would probably fall off of her stool. Thankfully for her, the tavern door opened and Biti's feet found the floor again. "Jack," she breathed in annoyance at the man who entered. She followed him with an angry eye as he moved to open up the cupboards. What was he up to now?
The tavern slammed shut it's own cupboard doors as Jack mumbled something about Biti smelling better... Biti never used her magic to harm anyone, but when Jack came around, she always found herself reconsidering. "What is it you want, Jack?" she asked. "You know that all are welcome here, and that the kitchen is always open. You, too, are welcome, if you stay out of my hair," she paused and a small pout formed on her lips, "and take back what you said about my smell. I don't smell bad..."
Happy laughter left the vampire's lips at Vex's reaction. Carefully he wrapped his arms around her slender frame to wrap her up in a tight hug. "I was wondering what had happened to you," said the redhead softly. He didn't want to think about her question, but knew very well that answering it had to be done. She knew Loki, had loved him .... Perhaps the two of them would have made a better go of it then he and the wolf.
"I betrayed him, and ran away." The blunt words whipped trough the air. Each letter seemed filled with emotion, with all the confusion and pain the vampire inflicted upon himself for his decision. It saddened him to no end, and nearly drove him to do very crazy things. Still Regan managed to stop himself, if only for the slender thread of hope weaving trough everything.
Another giggle escape Daralis as she eyed the man. It was true, he did indeed look very good. Even so he did seem rather ... young, compared to herself. Though that might just have been the way he acted, or perhaps she was just assuming wrong again. In any case, the man's flattery made the purple haired woman blush lightly as she picked up her drink. The cool glass made a soft ringing sound as she knocked it against Ren's with a smile.
"Yes, to a new friendship! It might work out better if I knew your name." She slipped from one kind of speech to another like a fish. With her upbringing it wasn't all that surprising for the rather short young woman to do so. Being raised in the marketplace and living there for all her life had made of Daralis a strange mixture of old and new, with snippets of different teachings and cultures forming her rather wide view of the world.
Vex pulled back from Regan at his words of betrayal to look him in the eyes. He was clearly punishing himself harshly for whatever had happened. His eyes were full of sadness and regret and it saddened her own heart, too. She placed a hand gently on his cheek and gave him an encouraging smile. She didn't know what had happened, so she didn't know what could be said to make him feel better.
Instead of telling him things would be okay, or that what was meant to be would be, Vex grabbed his hand tightly in hers and gave it a little squeeze. Sometimes just the action of reassuring someone you were there for them was better than all the mumbo jumbo words of it all. Besides, Vex had never been one to be good with words. Not to mention, she'd made some pretty awful choice since Red Rose, too.
"C'mon," she said, giving his hand a little tug. "Let's get some fresh air." This way, they could both talk and get things off their chest if they needed too without the audience. If neither of them was ready to talk, they could simply enjoy the beauty of this enchanted place and forget about the world for a while.
~~~*~~~*~~~

Ren's glass clinked against hers and he brought it to his mouth. Even with the lingering taste of that hot chocolate, the drink was delicious. "I'm Ren," he said with a grin. It would seem that his features were stuck in a permanent grin like that, but it was contagious.

"So, Daralis," he spoke her name almost seductively, "Where ya' comin' from? Where ya' headed?" He took another sip of the drink and pulled himself up to sit on the counter, immediately laying on his side on the bar, propping himself up with one arm, to show off his sculpted muscles.

Her wordless support brought a weak smile to the redhead's lips. He'd missed Vex without even realizing it, as so often happened when one left pleasant company. Thinking back on how pleasant it had been made Regan sigh a little. It reminded him all too well of how things had been when he'd left the wolf behind.

Wordlessly, he let himself be led outside. Once there, Regan settled leaned against the rail of the porch to peer at the forest quietly. This was a peaceful place, one without any lingering memories of the past. That alone made it a place of choice for the vampire to spend some time. Hopefully it would help heal what wounds he'd inflicted upon his heart.

The three hundred year old woman took a long pull of the fruity drink. It did taste wonderful, with the flavors bursting in her mouth and making her feel warm inside. Her smile turned mellow, as a spark entered her dark pink eyes. This man really was unpredictable. Perhaps she could surprise him, if only a little.

Reaching out, Daralis pressed a small hand to Ren's stomach and poked lightly at his belly button. "You should get a belly ring. But you asked something .." With an amused look, the purple haired woman leaned closer to his ear. "I come from the marketplace between worlds, and I want to travel to where ever I can." After a while, one did get tired of hearing of places without ever having seen them.

Ren watched Daralis with amusement as she enjoyed her drink. Man he was good at making those. And chicks always loved fruity drinks. When she poked him in the belly button, he let out a very pilsbury style "hoohoo!" although it was unintentional. "A belly ring!?" he exclaimed in a burst of laughter. "Me!?" Ren was beside himself. This girl was beautiful, funny, drinking with him before lunch...

He stopped laughing long enough to listen to where she was from. Well that was certainly something he'd never heard of. Was she yanking his chain? Maybe. But with all the things he'd done and seen in his lifetime, he'd believe almost anything. Without warning, Ren expression turned serious. He hopped off the counter and set his drink down, reaching forward to take Daralis' hand.

"Daralis," he said as he stared deeply into her eyes, "can we go between worlds and get matching belly rings one day?"

~~~*~~~*~~~
Once outside Vex pulled herself up to sit on the railing of the porch, beside Regan. She liked that she could be comfortable in his company without having to say a word. She studied him for a moment as he stared off into the forest. It was that Loki, she knew. That man was nothing but trouble. Surely whatever had happened was his fault, right? She sighed. Who was she to judge?
She rubbed her fingers gently over her bruised cheek before bringing her wrists up to study the bruises there, all memories left of Jin. "Time heals all wounds," she mumbled. Hopefully that would be true for the both of them.
A burst of laughter escaped her lips at the man's reaction. Oh he was so adorable! If only he was someone like her, who was much older then he seemed. Daralis was certain she'd gladly stick around to learn more about him.
His next words had her pink eyes widening, and mouth half opening in surprise. "W-well yes, I would like that but .... but ... I'm nearly three centuries old! Please don't turn around and runaway now that you know." The purple haired woman wanted to get to know him, and was suddenly afraid that he'd turn tail and find someplace to hide now that he knew just how old she was.
Companionable silence, it was something else he'd sorely missed. Though now Regan was sure to shatter it. "I cheated on him. He'd left without a word after we'd argued, and I went searching for him and came across Amadeo. He needed me! He actually did... Though now he probably hates me as well." A gusty sigh escaped the vampire as he titled his head to peer at Vex.
"And you, tell me your troubles, please?" Nervously, one pale hand moved to twist at a loose button upon his coat. It was a nervous habit Regan had picked up without realizing it as he'd searched for the wolf.
OOC: OOOHH. Ok, from the post she put I thought he had tried to leave the inn previously. So I get it now, and thank you. Oh and since I'm no where close to being a musical master, I'mma be a loser and just use Trouble Maker by HyeunSeung and Hyuna oAo Also if anyone wants to, feel free to play as Jack's master. o3o
Miya looked into her eyes unblinkingly, but did shrink back a little bit. "Upstairs," Miya answered. She sat back up when the lady turned her attention on another newcomer. She heard talk of betrayal, and soon the door of the inn opened and out the two went, she heard talk of drinks and pleasantries and annoyance. So many different emotions she heard, it made her think of something. She stood and went to one of the tables in the back and pulled her guitar out.
She set the elegant hollow wood on her lap, settled herself and began strumming. The tune was fast, "ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba ba." Soon she began to sing, "If I look into your eyes, I'm a trouble maker. If I stand next to you, I'm a trouble maker. Little by little, more, more, more." She continued to sing the lyrics.
/Which if you insist man, clicky this and it'll let you read the rest./
As she sang the song she closed her eyes and sang quietly but loud enough, the song seemed to speak of a mixture of things, therefore it seemed to fit everyone in the room one way or another. It even fit her a little bit, what with how she felt she troubled the inn keepers here.
~(^_^)~
Jack winced at the threat, he wasn't stupid, "Why Bitti, you smell like roses today!" He laughed a bit. "I'm just here to talk with you, old friend, see how it's going. Looks like you've been living the life..." He pet his crown of feathers, but suddenly notes entered his eardrums. He looked up and that solemn looking girl was playing, she began to sing a quiet soft voice. Something about making trouble, he grinned, that was his favorite thing to do! Jack laughed, "Yes, I am a troubblle makker!" He sang along very badly with her at the chorus.
As she continued her song he sat on the counter near Bitti, but at a safe distance. [b]"Did you change anything about your hair? You look different.." He leaned against the wall behind him and rubbed his chin, the girl ended her song and Jack stood giving her a standing ovation. "Brilliant, just amazing darling!" He walked right up to her and wrapped his arm around her, she seemed a tad bit squeamish. "You know... you're just an amazing actress! Wait, that wasn't the word was it? Well, you get an award anyway!" He plucked a feather from his shoulder and gave it to her.
Because of his master, the fact he was giving her his feather meant she could be easily traced and if needed, be used. He replayed that scene for her which confused her a tad bit. The girl's dark eyes looked down at it. "Keep it safe!" He then twirled back towards the bar. "Sir, can I get a drink right here?! I'm so thirsty!" Jack hung over the counter due to the laughter that nearly made him fall.
"W-well yes, I would like that but .... but ... I'm nearly three centuries old! Please don't turn around and runaway now that you know," spoke the purple haired woman. Jack cracked a smile, giggling, holding back true laughter at how he was far younger than her.
"Bah! You look fine for a woman your age!" he told her, butting in on the conversation and tapped her arm. He whacked his leg and laughed, tears would have come out of his eyes if he could produce them.
Amethyst eyes shifted to Regan as he began speaking so unexpectedly. When he finished and began fidgeting, she couldn't help but smile. Reaching out, she gently removed his hand from the loose button and straightened his shirt, dusting off his shoulders and fixing his collar.
"Stop beating yourself up Regan," she said. For the first time, her seductive attitude and velvety voice were gone, leaving Vex, the real Vex that no one knew. The heart on her sleeve, caring Vex. "If Amadeo needed you, when Loki didn't even want you, then I can't see how you've done any wrong."
She continued to ignore his questions about her troubles. She feared that talking about them would bring them back. Really, she feared that she would lose her cool if she even spoke Jin's name. She was asking Regan, but really, she was asking herself, "What does your heart want?"
~~~*~~~*~~~

Ren was grinning again. He'd always loved older women and this girl who looked younger than he did, was three centuries old? He'd died. He was sure of it. Just then, music began playing. He smiled at Daralis and moved around the bar to sit next to her to watch the girl play. She certainly knew how to use a guitar and had a beautiful voice, too. But where had she come from?

When she finished playing, he clapped and grinned and whistled. It was probably a bit much, but hey, she'd done a fantastic job, and, he felt he could relate to the song, which made him like it even better. He watched as Jack approached her and hugged her, turning to Biti, "An old friend of yours, huh?" he asked with an accusing grin. He nudged Daralis with his elbow to reassure her he hadn't forgotten her. In fact, he had a great idea! "Wanna go swimming?" He was feeling up for a swim.

The lake was beautiful and the water was perfect. Plus, he hadn't showered in a couple of days. What? He hadn't expected company. He sent a sideways glance to jack and grinned, "A drink? Ah, I'm not the bartender, but, I am always up for a drink!" With that, he made his way back around the bar and mixed up two more stronger drinks, one for himself and one for Jack. He placed one in front of Jack and grinned, there was quite the amount of alcohol in that. Not that he was trying to get the man drunk, more or less just, tone him down, for Biti's sake.

~~~*~~~*~~~
Biti sighed. "Damn right I smell like roses," she mumbled. As the mysterious girl began to play her guitar, Biti dazed off in lala land. Music was her weakness, and this girl could sing and play, that much was certain. Well, good. Biti was sure they'd all be here for a very long time and now she had some actual entertainment besides Jack's one man side show and Ren's self absorbed antics.
When she stopped playing her guitar, Biti realized she was levitating again. Her feet found the ground and she clapped excitedly. "You were really great!" she exclaimed. She really needed to talk more with that girl about her sudden appearance, but there was Jack, all up in the girl's business. Biti evil eyed him until he returned to sit at the bar while Ren mixed more drinks. Not realizing that Ren had already made the drink strong, Biti used her magic to make it even stronger.
Smiling to herself, she mixed a small drink of her own and sipped smugly at it, plotting all the silly mutaches and other awful pranks she'd pull on him once he passed out.
Alistair "Hiro" LeVon Deveraux and Aoshi Del'Hart.
Alistair is a gentle soul, created by the eternal child Aoshi Del'Hart. Aoshi is a cruel creature, and an ancient vampire.
Aoshi was seething, furious. Alistair could tell, he could feel it. Especially in the way Aoshi squeezed his hand so hard. They were lost, they had stumbled into this place and now they could not find the way out again. Alistair wasn't particularly perturb by that. Though he did wish Aoshi was somewhere far far away from him, such thoughts he kept closely guarded within himself. They were approaching others, he could feel it in the air, sense it almost. There were other people here, and perhaps they could show these two the way out of the forest. Alistair moved with sure steps, wearing the old style clothes from his time period. A belted tunic, tight pants and knee high low heeled traveling boots. In moments the pair came into view of the building, and the vampire on the porch with a human.
The child was gripping hard to Alistair's hand, and his other moved through his short black hair. Bright blue eyes peered out at their surroundings disdainfully. Bright blue eyes that lacked the sparkle and brightness of a normal child, they were cold eyes. Empty and dead. The child was dressed in more modern clothing than his companion. Aoshi wore jeans and a simple t-shirt. He adapted easily to changing times, but the same could not be said for his Alistair. "Hiro, next time do not get us lost." Even the child's voice was empty and dead sounding, so very cold. It pleased Aoshi to know that his eyes and voice sent shivers down Alistair's spine, it pleased him to know that even after all these hundreds of years his very presence still frightened the taller man out of his wits. Aoshi was not surprised that Alistair did not respond verbally to his words though, and soon a building had come into view. Aoshi licked his lips.
The vampire tilted his head down to peer at Vex and smiled slightly. She was really such a kind person, despite her facade of uncaring and seduction.
"My heart wants to break all romantic ties, so I can start anew and find someone else." As the words left his mouth, the redhead realized it was all too true. But what of Loki, and the fact that the wolf was mated to him, and him alone? He had an obligation to him, and still loved him despite all the anger between them. There were good times, though rare. Perhaps they were too rare though.
Regan sighed again. "I'm not sure if I could go trough with it." It would cause so much hurt for everyone, and create a void in his heart he feared never being able to fill.
She looked around as someone began to sing and eyed the woman with a rapt expression. What a song, it made her want to get up and dance. Instead Daralis found herself making a face at what the feathered person said after he'd burst in and talked to Biti. Sure, she was old ... But she did so hate it when people made comments like that.
"Yes Ren, please! Let's go swimming." Then she could get away from the annoying crow who made fun of her age. It was truly a touchy subject for Daralis, one she only mentioned once and never dared to bring up again.
Vex studied the vampire for a moment. It would seem they both needed to do the same thing, sever the romantic bond they held in a relationship that was no good for any of them. "Life isn't meant to be lived so miserably," she said to him, but also to herself.
"You deserve the chance to at least try and find happiness somewhere else. I think Loki deserves that, too." Really, Vex thought Loki would end up doing to anyone else what he'd done to Regan. Maybe he needed his life mate to leave him to get his shit together.
"If you love something, let it go..." that was the saying right? She wasn't sure, she was no Confucius. She was Vex, a con, a liar, a thief with no family or true friends who didn't want to turn her in for her bounty. She had wisdom of the streets, little in love and none in the big picture.
She sighed. "I've severed my ties with someone I loved, too. Sometimes the idea of a relationship that could be, isn't enough to get passed the bad relationship that is." Her cheek throbbed for a moment reminding her just how little right she had to give relationship advice, she certainly didn't pick any winners.
Vex smiled again. "I'm just happy so see you," she said, "We can help each other through these hard times." And if you ever tell anyone that I have an emotionally caring side, I'll stake you while you sleep. Vex left that part out for now.
He shrugged lightly and turned away to glance at the forest. It was frightening in a way to abandon what he'd been working so hard to gain. It was strange, but necessary however painful it might be. With tired hands, he tied his hair from his face so he could peer at Vex without worrying about it flying into his face.
"Yes, I think that might be best for everyone all around." Regan reached out to press a cool hand against the young woman's cheek with a sad smile. It would be alright, even if it didn't seem so at the moment.
Gently, the tall man pulled her into a hug. "I'm glad to see you too. Having a friend to talk to is a treasure." Sometimes, Regan thought he just needed someone to listen to the things going trough his mind to help him understand what was going on within.
Vex molded comfortably to the hug. It really was nice to have an old friend around to talk to. It helped her to not feel so alone, especially since they were dealing in similar situations. She sighed. It felt good to be hugged so gently.
She stared out at the water for a moment. "You know, I hear this place is cursed," she said with a mischievous smile. "I don't believe it for a minute. But I bet there are a lot of really cool things around here," that can all be mine! Mwahaha! Okay, she was feeling back to her normal self, it was so hard not too.
She nudged Regan in the ribs, "C'mon, cheer up. Let's have some fun, yeah?"
Alistair approached the building with hesitant steps. Watching the human and vampire on the porch for a moment. Mostly the tall vampire ignored them, picking up his pace a bit as Aoshi dug sharp fingernails into his hand. Alistair gave them a nod and continued past with the child into the building. Alistair didn't like this place. He didn't like the building or the forest surrounding it. The whole area made him feel trapped. Aoshi felt the same way, he could feel it in the way Aoshi held himself, but such a thing would be unnoticeable to others. Those blissful years where he had been out of this eternal child's reach had been a dream, and he was wishing for that time now. Aoshi always managed to find him though. Always.
Aoshi didn't even look at the human on the porch, and he only barely glanced at the vampire there with her. Cold dead eyes passed over the vampire uncaringly, disinterested. He was only wondering if the human belonged to the vampire. He didn't think she did, so maybe he could turn her. Make her his the way he had made Alistair his. It might be fun, besides, Alistair seemed rather lonely ever since Aoshi had gotten rid of the blonde human boy that the taller vampire had been fond of. So a new playmate was probably just the thing his pet needed. Aoshi moved into the building with Alistair, still gripping the taller vampire's hand tightly. "How quaint." Clearly it was an insult and not a compliment the way Aoshi said it.
][I'm soooo tempted to bring in Loki.][
A smile tugged up his lips at Vex's words. He pretended to consider her question for a long while, then pouted a little. "But I don't want to cheer up, I much prefer being miserable." Regan burst into laughter and shook his head. He couldn't keep a straight face, not at all!
"So I take it you want to go exploring?" He backed away and caught sight of the other two vampires entering the inn. The child gave him the creeps with his cold eyes. Instantly, his arms snacked around Vex again. A low growl escaped his throat, and Regan found himself trying very hard not to rush inside and demand why the other two of his kind where there.
((Why don't you?))
Vex laughed, too. Regan was a good person. She hated that he was beating himself up so much over things of the past. "Exploring, sure. But not in the woods. I don't do woods. They're dirty, and creepy. I was thinking more like, in the tavern," inside drawers and cabinets.
As a man and child approached, Vex noticed that Regan seemed uneasy. She blinked owlishly at the pair. They didn't seem weird to her, just another couple of travelers. She wondered if they had any valuables worth stealing. Hopping down from the railing, Vex nudged Regan again. "Relax, try to have some fun!"
She was tugging at his hand again, dragging him inside towards the bar. The place seemed to be filling up and she liked it better that way. More people meant more valuables."I'll make you a drink," she said to Regan with her normal sultry voice and sexy smile. Vex was really good at making drinks, and being sexy.
He made a face as he was dragged along behind the blonde. The vampire didn't really want to have fun, but with Vex around he didn't have much of a choice. Settling down on a seat not too far from a purple haired woman, he sent a grin Vex's way. Regan didn't usually drink or eat anything other then blood, but just this once he'd make an exception.
"Alright, surprise me." He sent a flirtatious wink her way, and tried to push aside memories of the past. They'd shared somethings that friends didn't regularly. At the moment it haunted him doggedly, though it had pleasant and had felt wonderful at the time. It had been his first betrayal of Loki, and sadly hadn't been the last.
Alistair moved to the bar, Aoshi by his side. Though as they neared the bar, the eternal child released Alistair's hand. The silver haired vampire only glanced at Aoshi for a moment when his hand was released, then he sat down on one of the bar stools. Greenish grey eyes glanced towards the vampire that entered with the human, only a glance though. For the most part he ignored them and the others in the building.
When Aoshi sat on the bar, cross legged in front of him and complained of being hungry, Alistair offered his wrist without a thought. Without a word of complaint, he only looked away. Eyes flickering to look to the side and down, watching the floor next to his stool like the obedient pet he was. Alistair hated being with Aoshi, but there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. Sure when Aoshi got bored with him, the child would let Alistair leave. For a time, usually a number of years, then Aoshi would come back to him. As cruel as ever if not crueler.
Aoshi released Alistair's hand as they approached the bar, and once his pet was seated, Aoshi hopped up to sit on the bar top indian-style in front of Alistair. Cold dead eyes didn't even look at the vampire and human that had entered behind them. He knew exactly where they were, what they were doing without looking. He could feel it, and he could hear them. Aoshi licked his lips, his eyes on Alistair with a familiar hunger in those dead blue orbs. "Hiro, I am hungry." He said those words with his cold dead voice, with an air of expectation and he was greatly pleased that his pet obeyed at once. Small cold and pale hands reached out to grasp the offered arm tightly, bringing it his face.
Aoshi bit into the flesh of Alistair's wrist hard, but the taller vampire did not flinch or wince. He only looked away. That was no fun, still it didn't matter, there were other ways Aoshi could make the vampire cry out in pain. The eternal child kept his eyes on Alistair's face as he drank his pet's blood. Aoshi drank slowly, and he would drink a lot even though he was so old he really didn't need it. He liked to keep his pet weak. It was fun.
Vex pulled out a pair of short glasses, hardly larger than shot glasses. She dropped a few ice cubes into each of them and grabbed two bottles from the shelf. In record time, Vex had the tops off both bottles, had one flying into the air while she poured the other before catching it behind her back and repeating the process.
Simultaneously, she slammed both of the bottles onto the counter and in that instant, the top of the liquid in the two small glasses ignited in flame. She smiled and scooted one to Regan. She knew many tricks from living life on the road and having to pick up random jobs here and there. Most of them bar tending, other times she just stole and sold.
She picked up her shot and blew the fire out before tossing the drink back and finishing it with a wide grin. As she set her glass down, the child on the bar caught her attention. He was feeding on that man, right there at the bar. It was disgusting.
Vex, being the mind speaker she was, frowned. "Don't you think you could do that somewhere more private? I don't think the top of a bar in a public place like this is where you should be draining blood from someone. Didn't your parents teach you any manners, kid?"
