-pulls head back- Nrr, this kitty cat doesn't like that. >o<;; Behind ear is alright in most cases, though.

Nope, I'm not often here in the mornings. I'm TA for a summer class at my university, so I have work. Plus, I've got my research to do, and I often do that in the mornings.

Evening. I like the theme of your charity. ^_^ Very academic.

Thanks, Liztress! I confess to being a genuine academic myself, so everything I do is dorky in that way. :P

Well, that would be one of the best ways to be dorky. xD And I wish I was a genuine academic myself, but on my best days... I'm mediocre.

I'm glad you approve of my style of dorkiness!

As I write this, actually, my desk (it's a wonderfully big 1920's monster that we found at a repaired furniture place; weighs about 100 pounds and is about six feet by three feet) is pretty much covered in books and papers and academic journals I need to sift through to find a few lines each. Whenever one of my cats wants to keep me company, I have to shift the keyboard—which fortunately is wireless—onto my lap to make room! :P

I love the antique desks and furniture. Not sure how old the desk I'm using is but I know it's a bit older than me. Maybe from the 40's or 50's. And wow, I'd love to be able to have my books close to me. But I have all my games, collection of Hello Kitty, and pictures on mine.

I fortunately never got into video games, so most of my distractions are online ones, like this, and an old copy of SimCity2000 I'm running (via DosBox) on my iMac. I got it off abandonware or one of those other mostly legal places, and for some reason it's in German.

I guess it's sad that I enjoy my video games. But the kinds I love (RPGs) do, to me, offer a similar experience with reading a book. As long as the story and characters are well thought out.

Yeah, I wish I could do RPGs, but I get so scared about "messing up" for some reason. I don't like high stakes games, or those where you can lose lives.

>.> I used to be the same way. Until I learned about resetting to the last saved point or having multiple files, just in case.

Well, I did play Myst back in the day, but I still get ridiculously anxious to the point where it's just not fun. :P

Yeah. I get really antsy when playing FPS games because I have bad aim.

And games are supposed to be fun, so I'm just not going to force myself to do something that doesn't actually make me relaxed and happy. :D

Yeah, I don't blame you for that at all. I normally take breaks on the game when it starts to stress me out too much.

What other games do you like, besides RPGs?

I like strategy games like FF Tactics or Disgaea. Where you have to plan your every move. Also I like board games, card games, games like Cooking Mama and Phoenix Wright, and racing games.

Play chess? My husband loves chess, but I don't have the focus for it. I'm pretty awful at checkers, too, except against second-graders. :P I love building games, like the old SimEarth.

Chess is fun but I'm not really great at it. And I love Checkers. Building games are fun. The Sim games, including SimCity and SimEarth, are a blast for me.
