*plops in Neph thread*
I'm so bummed I missed the event. :( I didn't know it was going on until too late. Been too busy to come on much, and just fixed my laptop. :x

On another note, I'm super freaked out right now because this monster sized rat figured out how to get into our house tonight. I'm really glad I just moved my rat into the other room in his old cage, because it was on his cage in the living room that he just moved out of. I really hope it hasn't been bothering him every night and that this is just the first time it figured out it could get inside. I'm not a happy camper.

Oh no! That sucks. I was wondering where you were. computer problems are no fun. I had my own mini freak out on the first Friday of the event. All my aps stopped working. Including photoshop. I was like NO I MUST ART! T.T

Also that's freaky. I hope it leaves your sweetie alone.

Yeah, I haven't been online much at all because my laptop isn't working properly. I need to buy a new battery because this one can't hold a charge anymore, and my charger is all busted up (puppy knocked them off the couch). I hate missing events. :( They're like the only time people are actually on to chat with, and I always love a good avi contest

At least he's in a room that he can't be bothered in now, but the rabbit is still in that room. We just closed the doors so that it can't get it, and set a live trap up on the porch. It got in twice, and the next time it ran straight for me and almost ran up my feet. I've never screamed at something before, but I did tonight. lol

Did you need any help with the Event items? I'm sadly about to head for bed, but I could buy a few EIs for you if you need. *wants to stay up and chat now*

Aww maybe it wants to be adopted too. I wonder if it could smell the other one on you.

LOL? WTF. I would be terrified if a wild rat got into my house. Those bastards are fucking mean!

I think that I have enough tokens now to get them all :) Thank you very much, though. I really appreciate the offer
Yes, I am a little strung out from that experience, so I'll be up a bit longer . Plus I'm supposed to be packing right now, since I have a flight in the morning, but I'm a bit warn out.

lol That would be cute. I feel like I'm a Disney villain with a vendetta against this rat just trying to eat ><;;

@ Dy - You're telling me. We have so many wild rats here because our backyard has so many fruit trees. We use live traps to catch them and then shoot them and give them to our snake, because we have too many rats out back right now it's become a problem. Made all that much more apparent after tonight! D: I don't think I'll ever feel comfortable having the door open now (there is a screen hanging down that you push through, which is how it got in). I hope we catch this rat, since he doesn't mind coming in now. That was twice in just a half hour.

Oh God. That's terrifying. I liked my friend's pet rats, but the wild ones are as big as cats and like five times as mean and rabid. Are you sure its safe for your snake to be eating those bastards? They're walk disease carriers. Like the exact opposite of an ambulance.

Yeah, I love my rat, and I have always loved domestic rats, but wild rats are much different. They have to fend for their lives when humans are around, so they aren't afraid to get tough. And yes, the males are huge. This one is just giant. Probably the largest rat I've ever seen in person. I was so worried it was going to get under my feet and I would accidentally step on it and prompt it to bite me. D:

She's done fine with them thus far. Nobody around here puts out rat poison, and that's probably the only thing that'd harm her. She's eaten a lot and has been well. But we keep an eye on her health. She also has rats from the store that we get her, but she hasn't been eating them lately

ogawd. That would be horrible. That thing probably carries like 9 plagues. It would be like that one episode of Doctor Who and the cat nuns kept a bunch of people in little pods who had literally every disease.

Well, if its safe for your snake, then that's a really humane way of handling a rat problem.

Yeah, I am still freaked out. I am not down for a rat bite. *shudders*

Bleck. I can hear him on the porch every now and then, too. Go away!

Hah. Yeah, and she's a really big snake, so she can eat a lot of them. She ate 3 within 2 days a couple weeks ago, even. It helps that a lot of the ones we catch in the traps are smaller ones, but one of those ones was a large adult. The adults are usually spending most of their time in the trees, so they don't seem to be caught in the traps very often. Except the males. They apparently take over the porch and house. -_-

@ Dy - So true
We caught it! I fell asleep (wasn't supposed to, oops) and woke up to it making a fuss on the porch. Shined a light on the deck and it ran straight into the cage. Now I can rest easier knowing it's not loose.

She's a red-tailed boa. She's somewhere in her 20's now.

@ Hum - Aren't mongoose to help with cobras? Are they good with rats as well?

For real. It must be having a rough night.

Red-tailed boas have a life expectancy of 20-30 years, typically, when in captivity.
