Romance books have a tendency to be pretty awful. I've found a few over the years that have been better, but none of them have been exceptional at all. Romance with vampires especially sounds awful so it was no surprise I couldn't get in to Twilight. When everyone started making such a big fuss about it, I almost felt like I was missing out on something. I still don't understand how those books gained such a huge (insane) following.

have you seen any good vampire or monster movies or read and books on the same topic that you though was worth while?

On the same topic; as in romance? No. I rather enjoyed Interview with the Vampire, but I really don't consider that to be the same topic. Unfortunately I don't believe a lot of good romance novels are written that involve supernatural or paranormal things. Especially not when involving humans, though I'm pretty sure that's just my opinion.

Vampire Academy? I can't say I've even heard about it before. What exactly is it about?

I dont want to give away to much in case you do decide to read it. basically its a 'world' that has vampires and like vampire body guards. And as far as Ive gotten its all about two girls who are childhood friends. one is a vampire whos like a princess and the other is half vampire half human who is the body guard.

Huh. I can't say I'd actually enjoy something like that, but I guess I'll give it a read if I get the chance. Vampires really aren't my thing and it's actually very rare that I enjoy media relating to them.

I'm mostly interested in paranormal novels or anything with historical base. I also like fantasy but I'm very picky when it comes to fantasy. I pick up a romance novel every so often but I can honestly say I only own have one to my name.

cool so paranormal. so have you seen paranormal activity? or have you seen Supernatural? or how about any of the ghost hunter type shows on sifi?

I've seen the first and second Paranormal Activity movies. I laughed my way through the first one and the end made me fall out of my chair because I was holding my sides from all the hilarity. The second one was better but disappointing from all the hype it got. I'm still waiting to go see the third one.

I watched the first season of Supernatural but I got bored with it pretty quickly. I do watch Ghost Hunters; TAPS being the only mainstream ghost hunting team I'll take seriously. I watch Destination Truth sometimes too, but I really don't have access to a television a lot anymore. Any other paranormal type shows I watch on TV are purely for my enjoyment at seeing how completely ridiculous the actors are. I can't take most of them seriously and it provides me with many laughs.

one of my friends loves Supernatural but I think the two actors that play the lead rolls helps with that. Ive watched Destination truth and lmao but because of the host I dont really take that show seriously.

you should try looking some of those shows up on Hulu. Ive found several ghost/paranormal shows on there

I do like the lead actors on Supernatural. They were the main reason I even finished the first reason. Yeah, the host makes the show kind of ridiculous to watch. I wish he didn't do the whole "Hey guys, this show is staged and purely for your enjoyment!" act that he does when he talks. He's a great host, but it makes it awfully hard to enjoy anything that "happens".
