I tried to read War and Peace by Tolstoy...but it was just too long. I have no idea how long it was, but it was a hefty thick book. O_O

I also thought Eldest by Christopher Paolini was ridiculously long...

The longest books I've read are Les Miserables(which I'm still not finished with), and Harry Potter 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Les Miserables is a very good story, one of the few required readings for school that I was actually able to read and enjoy.

Due to required reading and a non series book, East of Eden, it was like 600 something pages and that reinforced my liking of shorter books.

The Oath by Frank Peretti was kind of a long one. The Twilight series didn't really seem long even if they look like bigger books.
There are a couple of books that only had a few hundred pages that seemed really long. x.x

I'd have to say Memoirs of a Geisha aswell.

I'm not really an avid reader or anything, so it took me forever... like 3 days.
It probably just seemed longer then it was in reality, but...

But, it was really good so it was totally worth it!

The longest i've read, although i can't be sure, it's most likely Sepulcher. It had in excess of 700 pages, and was very good. I like long reads as much as short ones, so long as i can get into them.

I haven't really read any really long books that I can think of. Most books I read are about 200-350 pages or so. However, the new book in the Dark-Hunter series, Acheron is out, and it's 736 pages. I so can't wait to read it. I'm waiting for my sister to finish it first, though.

I usually like shorter books, because I like getting to that ending. However, once it's over, if it's a good book, I usually wish there were more.

In terms of absolute page numbers, the longest I've ever read was probably The Source, by James Michener - 1088 pages. Lord of the Rings, counted as single book, is probably longer though, and Mists of Avalon and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell are probably up there in terms of amount of content (being printed in a comparable font but on larger pages). As for Vanity Fair, I suspect it just seemed long, rather than actually being long.

With the exception of the Bible, the two longest books I've read were 3500 pages and 3000 pages respectively. I have the books still, but they're at my apartment so I can't remember what the names our or check them.

I can't remember... I usually don't pay attention to the page numbers unless I don't have a bookmark... but I remember when I was like in the 5th grade or something like that and I bragged about reading Bram Stoker's Dracula... that book is kinda long... but for a young person... it's really long XD... *shrugs*

The books in the Kushiel saga are usually pretty long. I think a couple of them had more then 1000 pages.

Jane Lindskold's book are between 600 and 800 depending on what book you happen to pick up.

The longest boods I've read were The Stand and It by Stephen King. They were both 1000+ pages. I had to take breaks while reading for a few days at a time because I felt like I was competing with myself to get as many pages behind me at the fastest time and I didn't want to rush.

They were good books though so I don't really mind if it took so long to read them.

Most of the books in the Otherland quartet by Tad Williams that I just finished were a good bit over 1,000 pages.
