Devon

"It would always start with a dream"

"Devon move!" There was the smell of smoke, fire licking at the roof of the house they had invaded. They were hunting a man who had been on the run for years now. It was a decent paying job and paid decent. They figured it was something minor that the precious knights (freaking Paladins, she hated every freaking one of them), were too lazy to do themselves. Rat bastards.

They had stalked their target everywhere and they had finally cornered him in this hut. Her team waited till night fall ( she had no idea why she was calling her and one other buy 'her team'. It made no sense and made her speak in third person.) till they figured he'd be sleeping but it was a trap. As soon as Devon had walked in the front door all hell broke loose. Long story short there were bodies. Just bodies every where, she even saw a few children there. This man was depraved whoever he was to have killed the whole family in such a manner. Her heart wrenched and it was probably why she hadn't noticed the candle oddly turned over and lit in the chaos. The mostly straw and wood shack started to burn only in a small area at first but fire always had a mind of its own. She turned to find the door frame blocked off by the wicked looking flames as they crept closer to her.

Step by step she moved away from the burning wood and bodies. The scent of burnt flesh almost did make her retch but she bolted towards the flimsy shacks window and dove through it as the place went up. Grimacing she dusted off the top of her head and shoulders. She didn't like doing that at all. There was a nice little cut on her cheek from it as well perfect another mark of many. A hand appeared in front of her and she took it. Jake had no problems with lifting her to her feet but he dragged her along besides him as he stalked away from the building. "Well that was dumb, you should have been paying attention." Jake chided giving her a stern look.

She flipped him off ignoring his stare, "If wishes were fishes Jake. Now how did that sonovabitch get past us?" She asked pulling her hand from his.

And then I would wake up...

She was sitting in a room. Well not a room a 15x15 box is what she was sitting in, it had a bed and not much else. The walls that had once been white were littered with drawings. Drawings of the place she went to in her dream. She had given up years ago on trying to convince her parents it was real.

Devon pressed a hand to her face letting the sting of the cut soak into her.

But she knew she wasn't crazy. No matter what the therapist said or her doctors or the orderlies said she wasn't insane. She would never hurt herself deliberately, even if she acted out sometimes, it was only because the other things were trying to kill her. She had come across an Orc (Jake himself whom she didn't meet until after they had drugged her) one day in the hall way and run full tilt down the hall way. Suffice it to say that she didn't make it very far when the doctors got a hold of her, with their pricking needles and 'calming' words. She sighed heavily knowing Jake would wonder where she was again. She just told the mountain of a man it was Elf magics and he didn't want to know. But he did wanna know but how could she tell him she traveled to a different world. He would brand her crazy like the rest had.

She curled in on herself as the sun rose into her high window, illuminating the largest picture, one of a forest road and a broken fence, the first place she ever appeared. It was in black and white but she had almost convinced the orderlies to give her colored crayons for her room, (of course they gave her charcoal, what the hell was wrong with having crayons?) Soon someone would be coming to get her, herd her in with all the other white clothed sheeple.

Just another day, Just another day.

Octavius

Why did I have to take the deal? Tavi Grumbled in his mind as he ran and could hear the others after him. This was all the kings fault. He had told the king that he shouldn't leave the castle till night fall but no. THe king had to insist that he didn't have the time and had to go now. Yet that plan blew up in his face when he stepped out of the kingdom and the protection of the guards he was being chaced. Now he was running for his life with Uiton soilders up his ass. There foot fall was heavy and that meant that htey were big creatures. Probably Orcs or Centars. The Uiton army liked to keep their army full of the fast and strong. But they never thought of shifters. Probably because there were so few and he was one of hte last one.

His tail swished around as he ran and his ears twiched slightly. If he let the Uition soilders catch him he was sure that they would use to too. But at least in the Hecturo kingdom they payed him. He was sure that the Uition Kingdom would just force him to do everything. Shivering at the thought of being a pet on a chain for them he quickly shifted his weight. His hands landed on the ground and he started to gain speed. The shifters were made to run, they had the speed and agility of a elf while having a few abilitys of a werewolf. But at the price of this came that there werent many in exchange for this though they could sence things. They coudl sence the protals that lead to the other world, a world like nothing of there own and his job was to explore it. If he found any information the king coudl use then he would give it and get some money in exchange. The only problem was finding a Portal and right now that was what his priority was.

As he ran the wind shifted and instantly Octavius stopped in his tracks and his ears twitched. Sure he knew that he coudl be caught at any second but that didn't matter. What mattered was the wind. Sniffing slightly he smiled and then took off towards the left. He could hear the others still coming but he knew he would be safe soon. He just had to get to the protal and he would be fine. As the trees slowly started to recead from around him he saw a bunch of boldars. Smiling he charged straight towards it and without a second thought he jumped at the rocks and seemed to dissappear into them.

Pain shot threw him as he felt his body being stripped of everything. He felt his muscle change slightly and he felt his ears changing. The usual point to them slowly started to go away and the fur that linned them dissappeared. His tail soon was gone and he felt odd. yet before he could even think about everything he felt himself slam into a wall and landed on the floor. He heard people running over but he quickly opened his eyes and looked around.

What ever place he landed in this time sure did like the color white. He saw peopel looking down the hall and others were coming over. The ones that were just looking stared at him oddly while the other with what looked like white coats on came running over. "sir, are you okay?" a girl asked as she kneeled next to him and Octavius just stared at her. "fine, why wouldn't I be?" he asked as he got to his feet. She nodded and then took his arm as she stood up. "why dont we get you somem new clothing, those look a little shabby." she said and started to tug on his arm. He growled and pulled his arm away, "I dont want to change and I dont want to cause trouble. I need to get out of this room of white, I need to see what this world offers for me." he said and right when he said that he knew somethign was wrong. "right now your suppose to be in your room." she said as she tried to grab him again. Octavious wouldn't have it and growled, "I am going no where with you, witch." he said and darted down the hall. THis world still was a mystery was to him but he did know that people in this world were very odd. He heard other feet coming after him and had to smirk. He had gotten away from one group of soilders but was now being chanced by what he assumed were doctors in this worlds terms.

Devon

The orderly came for her in the morning opening the door and gave her the pills she had to take. Her constitution didn't allow them to stay in her system long so that morning for a few minute she sat by the open window, leaning on the white couch. Why did they think white was such a great color. Why not soft colors like grey or pastels, white just seemed so sterile. Its almost as if they wanted to remind the people that lived here there was something wrong with them. She only noticed that there was a commotion because the person besides her brought her attention to it.

A woman started screaming and some one went to calm her. She was screaming about something coming to get her that was when she saw some of the doctors running down the hall after a boy...well not a boy a man, he was around her age she surmised. They were headed in her direction and people moved out of the way for them some people even started cheering like they were watching a race. "Its better if you don't run, cambiador de forma." She muttered under her breath as they made their way past her. It didn't matter that no one could hear her but what she saw did matter to her. Her heart skipped a beat as she clutched at the area. He was one of them, no, no it wasn't possible. They could not come here, nor could she go there, no matter what injuries she sustained it was in her mind, all in her mind. But there she had proof. Everyone else looked the same except for him.

When the doctors had finally moved past her she stood and followed them curiously. Why were they trying to capture the man when they couldn't see what he was. She blinked her pace fluid and even. There was no rush, all the doors leading out were locked to everyone, even her with her eidetic memory who had memorized each and every pass code. But it was her own fear that kept her here. Her own worry that made her feel safe in this place.

Octavius

The men in the white coat seemed to not want to leave him alone. They just conitnued ot follow him and it was more annoying then anything else. It was even more annoying when he had gotten a knot in his tale. "will you people stop following. I need to escape this white castle of annoyance and go to the kingdom outside. If I dont my king and kingdom will fall" he called backa s he headed over to the door. He tried to open it but it wouldn't move at all. He then saw a device and he growled, "why must you complicate this." he said and started to head out to the next door.

The doctors still followed and showed no signs of stopping. But when Octavius tried to open the door they knew that this was bad. With the ranting and wanting to get out he was surely crazed, or at least in the doctors eyes. The doctor nodded to the nuse and they broke up into other groups. When Octavius got to a point in the hall he was bombareded from all sides and he growled. "why must my human body be weak." he called out as they put a pair of cuffs on him. They then drugged him so that he wouldn't move. Once he was out they took him to a room and layed him down. Taking hte cuffs off they swtiched his clothings for the white mandatory ones and left.

Octavius grumbled as he slept and dreamed of being back home, in his world. The world that he felt complete, not in this place. This Human world was odd. They had weak bodies and there kingdoms were huge and annoying. Nothing was like his home and that was all he wanted to go. After about a half a hour of sleeping he slowly got to his feet and looked around. When he saw the white clothing he frowned, "curse you and your white clothing." he grumbled.
