Unpolished and beautiful at first
Hidden within a hard shell
When time sets in
We learn more and more about the other
Some love starts happy but ends in pain
And some love doesn’t change at all
Still just as much in love as the day it all started
Love can be amazing
It can be sad
But a true love is what we should cherish
Until the day we die

It's good, though it feels like a different poem a little bit. After those 3 lines the mention of the gem disappears suddenly.

yeah i never had love so its guess work for me to what it is and how it would feel and such
