Eleanor quickly bustled back and forth behind the counter, brewing up various caffeinated mixtures. The TV was on up in the corner, turned on to a news station, and all of her customers were paying rapt attention. There was another Avengers skirmish happening not too far away, and people were taking shelter off the streets wherever they could, including Ella's cafe. She didn't mind, though; more people meant more sales.

Simona was also helping to keep up with the bustle. The crowd didn't bother her; she'd been a barista long enough that she could keep up pretty easily, and she and Eleanor had been working together long enough to work very well together. She did wince sympathetically when the Iron Man armor went flying without Stark's consent.

Ella paused and watched as a few enemies got picked off by sniper fire from a nearby roof. Everyone knew about the Winter Soldier by now, but his addition to the Avengers team was still new and it was obvious that they were still working out the kinks in having someone new around. Ella got back to work quickly, though.

By the time the battle was over, people were relieved, and Sim was glad they were done wrecking bits of the city.

"That one wasn't so bad," she said to Ella, watching as a few people got up to leave now that it was safe.

"Not bad at all," Ella said as she quickly emptied the overflowing tip mug into a bigger jar on the back counter. They would split the tips at the end of the day.

"Three more hours," Sim said with a little grin, not bothering to pay attention to the TV anymore now that the excitement was over.

"Not long at all," Ella agreed, setting a fresh pot of coffee to brew. "We're doing good today."

"Yes we are." Simona grinned, cleaning up a few things while she had a chance. Because she expected things to lull now that the battle was over.

Ella expected things to lull, as well, and worked on getting the small dining area set to rights. Now that the excitement was over, she wasn't expecting too many more people to walk in.

So Sim looked up when the bell over the door jangled, and then did a fantastic double-take when she realized the Avengers were walking into the café, still in uniform.

Steve was with Bucky in the back of the group. They'd already checked each other over for injuries.

Ella looked over when she heard the bell and also did an impressive double-take. The odds of the Avengers walking into Turn A Page were absolutely astronomical, and there they were.

Tony was right in front, trying to hand Bruce a credit card.

"Seriously, Bruce, just go, get a new pair of pants, honestly," he said.

"I'm fine, Tony," Bruce replied. "I can deal with these until we get back."

"Only if you don't mind occasionally flashing people," Clint said with a teasing little grin. Bruce wasn't, not much, but it was fun to tease.

Sim watched, her eyes wide. And then she swallowed and stepped up to get their orders.

Steve and Bucky had mutually decided to let the others go first and stayed in the back, looking around.

"Cute place," Bucky said.

"Yeah," Steve said, looking a little distracted. There was some scent over the smell of coffee that was teasing his nose.

"Hey, I don't mind the flashing," Tony said, grinning. "But other people might, just saying." Bruce just rolled his eyes and sat down at a table. Closing his eyes, he took a slow breath, and paused. There was something, just underneath the smell of coffee and tea, that he was smelling, and he wasn't sure what it was. Whatever it was, though, it was enticing.

"Can we help you?" Ella asked, trying her best to stay professional as she went back behind the counter.

"Yeah, can we get four regular coffees, two lattes, one green tea thing for him--" Bucky pointed at Bruce "--and whatever he wants." He nodded at Tony. "I'm not even going to try to replicate his order." He could see Steve still distracted, still sniffing, and he was starting to smell something too.

Sim nodded and started on the coffees.

"Strong enough to eat the spoon, with a shot of toffee nut and a shot of Irish cream," Tony said, now a bit distracted himself. He smelled something, but he wasn't sure where it was coming from, but it was a good smell.

"Coming right up," Ella said, already going to get the lattes started. She thanked her lucky stars she'd set fresh coffee to brew.

Sim got the four regular coffees and set them in front of Bucky, who was also starting to look a little intense. And then she started on the tea for Bruce.

Steve shifted a little as the scent shifted, and then the steamer shot the scent in his direction. He blinked when he realized it was coming from Ella.

Ella sat the lattes down and started to ring up all of the drinks.

Tony watched as Sim darted back and forth, and paused when he realized that the subtle, alluring smell was coming from her. Well. That was unexpected. A quick glance at Bruce confirmed that Tony wasn't alone in what he was smelling; Bruce was watching the girl, too.

Steve fumbled out his wallet to pay, watching Ella, his mind already working. He needed to figure out how to talk to her. He need to figure out how to get her number, or something, how to bring this up.

"How long have you been here?" Bucky asked, eyes on Ella, completely derailed Steve's concentration.

Sim set the tea off to the side once it was done and then paused. Drinks were all done, good, and Ella had the register covered. So she went back to cleaning.

Ella blinked.

"What do you mean?" she asked. "I've been working here for a while, now. Since I was seventeen or eighteen."

Bruce watched as she got closer. Yes, he definitely knew he was smelling her, and the Hulk rumbled quietly in the back of his mind.

Tony was also watching her.

"Hey, what's your name?" he asked her, completely and consciously ignoring the nametag she was wearing.

"Guess we've missed this place," Bucky said with something very similar to his old charming grin. "Stevie and I have been trying to find all the small places in the area. The non-chains." He briefly made a face.

Steve had never been more glad that Bucky had always been smooth around dames.

Sim quirked an eyebrow at him but humored him. "Simona. Might want to try reading next time, save yourself some trouble."

"We inherited the place from our parents," Ella said. "Turn A Page has been in the family since our grandparents."

"And deprive myself of the chance to get you to talk?" Tony asked, grinning.

"I feel deprived," Bucky said. "How did we not find this place?" He pouted a bit but didn't let it get to him too much. "Might be stuck with us now, though."

Simona rolled her eyes at him. "Uh huh. Was there anything else you needed?"

"Wouldn't mind getting your number," Tony said, flashing a charming smile.

"Excellent." Bucky winked. "Might even get Stevie to talk, too."

Steve flushed a little at that and elbowed Bucky.

That threw Sim for a moment, but he wasn't the first Alpha to come in and flirt with her. So she just gave him a cool, professional smile and held out a business card.

Ella grinned a bit at that. The Avengers were turning out to be surprisingly, refreshingly normal.

A business card. Cute. But Tony could work with that. He took the card with another charming grin and tucked it away.
