Awww, I'm so disappointed. I was looking it up online and it doesn't look like Bubba from the books is not going to make an appearance in True Blood. :(

Bubba?

Are there lots of different things going on in the show now than in the books?

Yeah - there are story lines happening in the show that did not happen in the book and vice versa. Like Tara has a different story line and the way Jason & Amy's relationship is going wasn't in the book.

Bubba - well, Bubba in the book is a vampire who was considered the king of rock n' roll. :) His brain was fried by drugs when he was turned so he isn't exactly all there.

Amy is odd. :/ She really creeps me out.

I gathered that Tara's was different...I read somewhere a fan that read the books was saying that it is conceivable that behind the scenes some of this stuff could have happened that Sookie didn't know in the books. But...I havne't read the books so I don't know. :/

Wooow, that's a weird concept...why is he considered the king of rock n' roll? Just wondering. :3

I got interested in True Blood before the first season even started, due to all the viral marketing with Blood Copy. And I've been in love with the series ever since. I've kind of got an unhealthy obsession with the supernatural, so the idea of vampires "coming out of the coffin" is an interesting one to me.

I've also read most of the books (just haven't gotten around to reading the newest one yet), and I have to say that, although they're really kind of different, I like the fact that Alan Ball is changing things up enough to keep me from knowing exactly what's going to happen next (like Lorena. She doesn't show up til the third book :P Totally wasn't expecting her in this season!).

My favorite character from the series is Eric. There's something about a powerful, dominating male that gets my blood pumping.

Way to go Sizzla!

I was going to resurrect this but didn't get around to it.

I started reading the Sookie Stackhouse series years ago, and just about shat when they started a tv series about it.

Personally, both series' are turning out to be really unique in their own ways. The first followed the series almost to the book, which was nice and comforting but also predictable.

The second is very different, but I almost think it's better this way, for a tv series anyway.

Eeeks!

So the next episode is in three days, I can't wait!

So let's talk about what's been doing on. Anyone else read the books?

So how about all the changes?

I haven't seen it yet. I've seen a few clips and trailers. I hope it's as good as it sounds.

As I said, I really like the fact that Alan Ball has changed some things from the novels. If they were the exact same, I really think the TV series would be a bit boring. Change can be good sometimes, and it certainly works here.

Like I love the fact Lafayette is still alive. In the novels, he's such a minor character, his death only meant something as a bit of a shock factor, I think. But the actor who plays him brought such a flair, I was sad to think that that was him in the back of Andy's car!

The TV eric is so... that.. sweaty midnight fantasy with the slight heat of fear... totally the kind of guy your parents warn you about.

Hmm... I don't think so much. He won't leave his territory. I think it will be up to Sookie, Bill and Jason to do all that. Save Sam Sookie!

Good point... but what about Andy? Do you think he'll have anything to do with her, since he already caught Maryann in the act once... lol

Poor andy.... He's in such a rut! He might end up sharing some info with the deadly trio upon their arrival... Tara's definitely gone haywire, so she'll just be more trouble.

I know, everyone thinks that he's just a crazy drunk that doesn't know what he's talking about. I hope that Lafyette will be able to help Tara out though. Did you see how her and eggs were hitting each other? that was crazy. xD
