I love love love Shojo manga. My favorite is Meru Puri by Matsuri Hino. She is the author of Vampire Knight another of my favorites. I also LOVE anything by CLAMP. What are your favorites?

I loveee sci-fi, futuristic shonen, but it's really hard to get one without being repulsed by the crudeness or brutality of the art/plot.
