Grrr, they really annoy me!

So you're drawing a full body person and you do all your big shapes and then refine and refine and refine till all you have left are those damn fiddely little bits, that unless you are using a pencil the same point as a pin are impossable to do...

And we all know pencils don't stay that sharp for long. And lord only knows how I'm going to ink the detail in!

Doesn't it just annoy you?
Please tell me I am not the only person annoyed to death with fiddely bits!
What part of drawing annoys you the most?
How do youink detail into the fiddely bits?

  • I have a love-hate relationship with the above mentioned fiddly bits.

I like to try and do them. But tend to fail competely at it.
I just don't have the patients of the knowledge base to do them 'well'.

So uh. I tend to just like to stick to big, general shapes, and add lines in that just pretend to be detail and fiddly bit.
    Bit in truth.
    Or simply my bordem kicking in >__>;

I personly think every person in the world should have flat black hair. So I don't have to ever draw detail into it again.

LMAO! Hows about flat blonde hair? Easier to make lines look like detail instead of shading?

Well I'm doing...blonde, rebelious hair and a headband with bats over the ears and Bangs. and *wimpers* The face was easy! I am proud of my latest fidely bits though...

I hate doing them, butitmakesme so happy when they work!

  • Hmmm.
I do actually like colouring blond hair. For some reason, it's a whole lot of fun ♥

    ohGOODNESS.
I'd hate to be doing that.
I avoid doing overly detailed head stuff...cause I'm just no good at it.

haha~! I feel the same way.
    But I'm lazy.
    Soooo~ :shot:

  • :"O Poooor Angel~!!
    What are you drawing anyway?

Aaah~ Colour is pretty much the only thing that saves my pretty crapptastic drawing skills.
You can hide so much with a few well placed bright colours ♥

I detest any drawing that I do that consists of more than a face and a torso. I've probably mentioned this before elsewhere. LoL.

Faces have fiddely bits too, so your reply doesn't really contribute to the thread... AT ALL! Please read things before trying to reply to them.

I honestly hate the sketching part. I like getting down to the detail cause the drawing starts to pull together and look like something worth the time to keep drawing D:

And use a .5 mechanical pencil : D They're really tiny so you can get that detail without having to constantly sharpen that pencil.

What is a fiddely bit? I do not normally ink my drawings unless I am going to photo copy them onto the computer.

I LOVE the fidelly tiny witty little bits! That is what makes the piece look pretty! Especially for dresses~ elegant rennaisance dresses, bridal gown! yay!

Most of the time I do those lines in computer, which mean, they zoom in an insane scale. But I do have a few gowns that is drawn with pencil...

Hm, depends on what the part is, I'm still trying to get shading to be in my style still.

Fiddly bits are fun... so long as they don't get TOO fiddly for a long period of time. Sometimes I'll be working on one little peice of a picture for days.

Of course then it's usually a much bigger problem than I think it is. So I guess it's not really the fiddly bit's fault.
