I think it depends on what the bride and groom want.

If I have a wedding, I expect my guests to wear casual clothes. Just make sure they are clean and don't have holes in them. xD

I kind of really want one, but my parents hate my boyfriend right now, so that's gonna get pushed back, like, lots ....O.o

I never wanted one of those big traditional ones. Just something small and cheap. If the boyfriend takes me to city hall to get married, that's fine with me. I'm not going to be like some people I know who spent hundreds of dollars planning a 'wedding' after they've been married ten years. :/

While I can understand parents not liking a boyfriend, they have to understand that if you guys get married then he's not marrying them. He's marrying you.

I understand that. I would be the same way. It's not as meaningful if the family isn't there to support you. But I really think that it's unfair of them to withhold their approval, especially if he makes you happy and you love each other.

Eh. Add this to my list of reasons I don't wanna get married. The guest list. Who cares who approves or disapproves? My relationship is about myself and my beloved, and I don't give a single flying fuck who is for or against it.
