So which one of the items is the best? I just found this stuff out and I was already saving up to buy stuff, can you buy the regular stuff with the candy corns and the rare stuff with the candy apples? I'm just a tad bit confused.

no, the apples are for common event items(in the event store)
and the candies are for the rare items(you have to fallow the clues and find the NPC's and ask for the items)

I'm not even going to look in the Special Event Store any more until I've gathered as many Candy Apples as I can. :p Then I can just work my way down from what I have and spend as less gold as possible.

your question was answered in the event FAQ :3
Candy Apples = event currency. only gained by trick or treating with the NPC's
Candy Corn= currency for event rares, which is gained by posting and trick or treating.

as for which item is the best, that is just a personal thing. :3

Tell you what the apples are very annoying to get. It has taken me all day to get thirty apples.

We have yet to get all the rares for this event so we can't really say if they are or not. Maybe at the end, you can make a better judgment. Tee hee. Happy Halloween everyone! XD
