I was just curious why everyone joined this site. I know I was attracted by both the avatar artwork and the games (Chopper Challenge has become sort of an addiction ^^; ). So, what brings you all here?

Hello! I joined Menewsha for the events, and because sometimes, I need an escape from certain avatar websites that are too corporate - sometimes I find myself offended by how they openly lie and market to the lowest common denominator to earn an extra buck. I don't think Mene has quite done that yet, though, so it's a nice place to look around at. XD

I think the avatars are very pretty so I decided to give it a try. (:

You have a pretty avatar, geishaberry. Just curious, but how many sites like Menewsha have you been on? I've tried only two others (Zantarni and Gaia), so my experience is a bit limited.

I mainly jump around on Gaia and Menewsha, but I've also tried Zartini, Subeta for about 2 seconds, I was hardcore into Neopets when it very first came out but quickly lost interest, there was another that I tried for a while, the avatars were sort of on the photorealistic side of pixel art, but I think the community wasn't strong enough and the site might've closed.

I saved up for a while to get it, thanks ^_^. Heh, I'm still on Neopets, solely for the games. I didn't even think of that as a forum site, since you really don't have an avatar.

Speaking of which, I just thought of another site that I went to for the avatars: Meez. Now that site has some entertaining stuff.

I've never heard of that before. XD Is it relatively new?

I'm guessing so. The avatars are in 3D and animated, plus a lot of the clothing items are free. It doesn't seem to have a storyline like Menewsha, however, and seems (to me, at least) to be a fancy networking site. The games are fun though.

Well, I'm a Gaia and Roliana user as well, and I was on tektek.org looking for a Gaia profile. I then saw an ad for Menewsha. I have a thing for forum-posting (not that I post a lot), game playing, avatar games, so I wanted to give it a shot. I've liked it a lot! [:

When I initially signed up, it was the avatars and the literacy.
Post-Mene, I was so used to the cute chibi styled gaia avi's, but it was becoming harder to find a conversation.
And this site was like a breath of fresh air, so I stayed.

My friend Techmaga dragged me here. I have played Gaia for a long time and like to merchant there. It's kinda slow here but still fun.

Oh gosh, literacy! That's an absolute must-have if I'm going to post at all. As a writer with a BA in English, I feel obligated to write well.

I came here via the TekTek ad as well. :) I was dubious, but the avatars grew on me quickly and they caught me for good with how fun the Halloween event was... And the high quality of all items (but particularly the free ones and Contribution Items) made me never feel the need to try out other avatar sites. I still use Gaia a little, but mostly just to play "dress up" and not really to do anything else.

Someone had a link in their sig on gaia and I was curious...so I clicked.
And I found this wonderful place!
I've been here for about a year and a half now. I love it.
I don't think I will ever leave.

I joined JUST in time for the st. patricks day event (the first one), and that sort of sucked me in really deep HAHA. I loved ittt, how STAFF RUN everything was, and I guess that's why I'm still here: I love the events. *___*

So far, my favorite was Mene Summer Night's Dream, but that's because I'm a sucker for flowers and pink items, and just clicking aroudn the site was a lot easier than actually making posts, since I'm not a very active forum goer. :sweat:

I haven't been active on many avatar sites, mostly Gaia & Mene. I found Mene through a friend on Gaia, she pulled our whole guild over here. We thought it would be a fun alternative -- and while we've all become even more active on Gaia since we found Mene, I find I'm rather addicted to Mene as it's such a different atmosphere.

And, I absolutely love the events, there is always so much work put into them with the story lines, games, items and participation. There is a much more personal feel here that I really enjoy.

Geishaberry - I think you meant to say the Phoenix Jubilee. XD The Menesummer Night's Dream event was a user-event and didn't have that sort of system. XD;

IThere was a problem with Gaia at that time so I tried to find an alternate site, and poof Meneswha was there. Been inactive lately but due to this event I am posting as we speak.

OH! Hurf durf. Yeah, that's what I meant. XD

On March 10 of this year, Gaia randomly banned hundreds of their users, myself included. Even though they admitted the mistake, some of those people are still fighting to get their accounts back. In the aftermath, there was, not surprisingly, a lot of discussion about Gaia alternatives among the victims and Roliana's name came up so I checked it out. Roliana thoughtfully has a forum thread for discussing all of the other avatar sites (mostly to confine the Gaia chatter to one place, but still). In that forum Menewsha probably got more mention than any other non-Gaia site, including fond comments from the Mods, so here I am. I have to admit that this event is the first time I've really gotten sucked in beyond my Chopper Challenge addiction, but it has been a really good event, so I'll probably be around a little more from now on.
