The sound of his fist slamming onto a his wooden desk filled the room. "I don't care if they ordered it." He spat the word 'they' out with such hatred. How could they even think he would do such vile act. "Elders or not, I will not take one of them as my bride." Just the thought sickened him to his core; his identical brother just snickered at his torment however. "It's their order Daylen, I know the thought sickens me as well." A rather petite woman replied to the man. "But you will do this or the family will face the consequences." The man turned to face his mother, his face clearly fuming with anger. His long raven colored hair framing his pale face. He was dressed rather elegantly for his line of work. "Then let them bring it." He hissed at her darkly, "Throw me in the dungeon for all I care, I will not do it." He told her rather disrespectfully. He emphasized the word 'will' to get his point across; however his mother was not yielding to this subject. She herself had selected him as a suitor and he would married the D' Veen girl rather he was willing or not. "Very well." She calmly replied, "A few nights in the dungeon will serve you well." With a simple wave of her hand, the man was transported into a leaky cell deep within the basement. He hated how she was a master of teleportation. He looked around before sitting on the moldy cot that was to be his bed for his time remaining. He wouldn't do it, they would have to kill him.

Contessa widened her eye as her parents sat her down and explained to her the situation. Marry a member of the enemy family?! Were they serious? "Dad, Mum you can't be serious. This...this is some kind of joke right?" she asked with a desperate look on her face. "I'm afraid not deary, the elders have ordered it. You know well we do not disobey them, no matter what the request." her mother replied with a saddened look on her face. No one was happy about this, but there really was nothing to be done about it. If they disobeyed the counsel, the consequences would be dire. "Your mother and I really aren't too fond of the idea, but there really isn't anything we can do about it." her father commented softly. Tears brimmed in Contessa's eye as she was hit with the reality of having to marry the enemy. "I can't do it. I can't! I mean, it is the enemy we're talking about! We, we can't just pretend like it's all fine and dandy. Besides, who'd want to marry me? I'm missing an arm and an eye." she said and looked down. "I might as well be missing a leg too." she whispered. Her father handed her a handkerchief and wrapped an arm around her shoulder while his wife went up to the nursery to pick up Contessa's little sister of three years.

"Sweetheart, any man would be lucky to marry you. You are a sweet girl with a heart of gold. That mechanical arm looks good on you, and so does the eye patch, they add to your personality. They define who you are and all the struggles you went through in life." her father explained and smiled at her from behind his round glasses, his dark brown eyes watching her closely. "Now, how many girls have you met that can say they experienced the same things you did?" he asked. Contessa's mother was just walking down the stairs with little Carolyn in her arms and smiled as she listened to the conversation. "Well....none at the moment." admitted Contessa with a weak smile as she used the handkerchief her father gave her to wipe away her tears. "Exactly, you are one of a kind sweetheart. I guarantee that you will make anyone happy, and if they hurt you, well then they'll be in a lot of trouble won't they?" he said and smiled. Contessa chuckled and nodded, "Yes they will. Thank-you dad, you always know how to cheer me up." she said and kissed his cheek.

"Well sweetheart, I try." he said and kissed her forehead. "Now then, shall we help your mother with dinner?" he asked. "Yes we shall." Contessa replied and walked with her father into the kitchen while her mother worked on brushing Carolyn's hair carefully.

Daylen plopped himself down on the cot, his legs dangled over edge of the metallic frame. His anger still lingered within his chest. He sighed letting out some of his anger. The flames of the candle ignited with a hotter flame, instantly burning down the candles until no light lit up the damp cell. "Are you really willing to let the family suffer from a pathetic little marriage arrangement?" His older twin asked him, his brother was a master of shadows; abled to travel vast distances through them. "I rather we suffer and die then mix our blood with those fairies." Daylen hissed darkly, especially since he was the one to touch one as a bride. Sirus just chuckled at his brother, his brother's pearl white teeth eerily shown in the lightless room. "Mother ordered me to retrieve your blushing bride." He said while chuckling, "You better behave yourself tomorrow morning." He told him warningly. "Or what Sirus? You're forgetting I can easily kill you; brother or not." He said sitting up. At this rate Daylen would kill anyone to escape this horror. Sirus just sighed in defeat, he was right; he would be the same way in his twin's position. "Like it or not the Elders made this choice, you will obey or mom will cast her controlling spell and force you." With that being said, Sirus faded away into the shadows. Alone Daylen fell back onto the cot and stared at the ceiling, he needed to escape but unlike his family; he could not teleport in anyway or from. In defeat, the young sorcerer just closed his eyes. Hopeing sleep would claim him, however he knew it wouldn't due to his raging anger.

Both Contessa and her father worked on dinner, talking about the arrangement every now and then. For the most part, she didn't care for it and didn't want to think about it. On the other hand, she was still somewhat interested, only because she never thought she'd be getting married so soon and much less with the enemy. Oh well Contessa, you must relax and be a big girl about this. Crying isn't going to make this arrangement disappear. she thought to herself and cleared the negative thoughts from her mind. Once dinner was ready, she walked to the living room and motioned at her mother to come over to the table. Her mother stood with Carolyn in her arms and walked back to the table with Contessa where her husband was serving the dinner already. "You two do a lovely job with dinner you know." she said and gave her husband a quick kiss before sitting Carolyn down in her baby chair and then taking her seat beside her. Contessa took her seat once her father was finished and sighed happily. The food smelled lovely and she couldn't wait to try it.

Her father took a drink of his tea and looked over at Contessa. "How's the arm? Still functioning well?" he asked. Her mother was too busy eating and feeding Carolyn to hear what they were talking about. Contessa smiled and nodded as she took a bite of her food. "I'd like to check it out anyway after dinner, see if anything is in need of fixing or anything of the sort." her father explained. Swallowing her food and drinking some water, Contessa nodded. "I think that is a good idea dad, possibly oil it up a bit? I do not want it to rust." she explained softly. "If that happens I'll be happy to make you a new one." her father answered easily before taking a bite of his food. "Thank-you dad." she whispered softly and continued eating. Her golden honey colored eye glanced over at her mother and she smiled when she saw the happy look on her mother's face. She always enjoyed seeing people happy, and would do all she could to keep it that way. Contessa knew that no one could be happy all the time though, but as long as they were happy one day at a time, it was alright.

Sirus just watched the family enjoy their dinner silently. He had faded from the shadows without them spotting him a while ago. The family was completely different from his, it kind of made him sick. He was crossing his arms as he leaned against the wall in the corner of the room. Finally he spoke up is disgust. "I'm think I'm going to lose my dinner." He said slightly mocking the family. He smirked walking closer to them, running a fingertip across a end table as he did. He looked at his fingertip and rubbed the dust away. "So, this is my brother's bride." He said getting close to her face, maybe three inches away. He noticed her eyes, well eye and other body traits. He simply ignored her parents, he didn't care if they flipped out or not. "Sorry to say but I'm the handsome twin." He said backing away from the girl. "Sirus di Pavia at your service." He said waving his left hand in the as he bowed. "I will be escorting you to my little brother tomorrow morning." Smirked playfully at her. "Don't fret however, I won't let anything harm you. After all, you'll be my first and only sister." He gave her a playful look as his long ravenous hair draped over his shoulder, his elegant vest and clothing made him seem like a nutjob; which he pretty much was.

The family ate their dinner happily, both Contessa and her father were idly chatting while Contessa's mother busied herself in feeding Carolyn. When the voice spoke, they all looked around, wondering where it was coming from and spotted the male. "What are you doing here? How did you get in here?" asked Contessa's father. Contessa glared at the male and listened to what he had to say. Escort me to see his brother? Oh right, the arrangement. she thought to herself and shook her head. He was being a bit too...nice and she wasn't sure how she felt about that. "How am I supposed to trust a word you're saying Sir Di Pavia?" she asked easily and looked over at her parents who looked worried before returning her attention to the male by the name of Sirius. "Well, I must say I'm rather surprised to see you here. I did not think I'd meet any of you until much later." she started and stood from the table, offering a curtsy in respect, her large curls cascading over her shoulders and sown her back. "I'm Contessa D' Veen. I'm sure you already knew that though." she said and offered a small smile. Even though he was the enemy, she didn't want to start an unnecessary fight right here in their kitchen. Maybe this man wasn't such a bad guy? Maybe he was the only good person in that evil family? She had to give the man a chance, she couldn't just hate someone without getting to know them first right?

Sirus tilted his head to her father and smiled then back to Contessa. "No Sir, just Sirus or Si will work. Sir was my father." He told her playfully. "And my dear lady, my word is my bond. Nothing will hurt you in my presence." He said waving his hands in the air. "Although my brother is rather unpleasant at this moment." He told her slightly giggling. He wiggled excitedly, "I just couldn't wait." He clapped his hands gently. "My brother is fuming to the point we had to confine him in the dungeon. I just had to meet you and see if you could handle him." His eyes widen at his own words before blinking only to reappear close to her face again. "Not that he is a violent man, just hates the Elders with a passion. He stays in his study day in and night." He backed away and looked around the place. He blinked once more and appeared near the baby. "Awe, so cute. May I?" He asked her mother as he rolled his hand for a lollipop to appear from thin air. "I love children." He told her happily.

Contessa nodded and offered an apologetic smile, "My apologies, Sirius." she said politely and blinked in surprise when he mentioned how eager he was to meet her. "W-well...I do hope I can handle him. I...well...I suppose he has reason to be upset. I mean, an arranged marriage with someone you hardly know can be quite upsetting don't you think?" she asked. Why was she so nervous? Maybe because she was in the presence of her future brother? She wanted to make a good first impression but she probably failed at that before she even knew he was here. So your brother is locked in a dungeon? He doesn't sound like a very reasonable man. He sounds hot headed...can I handle hot headed? she thought to herself and gasped softly when he suddenly appeared beside Carolyn. Her mother held the baby girl close and looked over at her husband who nodded, giving her permission to hand over the child. Carolyn was happily reaching out for the lollipop in the air and cooing cutely as her mother carefully handed her over to Sirius. "You love children?" repeated Consetta and smiled softly. "Does your brother love children too?" she asked although she could already guess that he didn't.

Sirus made funny faces at the child he now held, he didn't care if she slobbered all over his garments from the over sized lollipop. "No apology needed deary." He told her happily. He just looked at her with his happy smile. "Not really, a stranger is just a friend you haven't made yet." He told her playfully, he returned to air talk to the baby before turning his pale eyes on her. "You know, I honestly don't know if he does." He lightly handed the baby back to her mother before blinking once more, this time leaning against the wall near Contessa. His arms crossed over his chest. "Truth be told, he always shied away from people. He never left his room after he turned seven, he always read and played with machines. Guess that's why he is a master engineer and alchemist now." His eyes turned slightly more serious than his normal playful appearance. "He became that way when developed his pyrokinesis, the day our father died." He said sadly. "No one blames him but he hasn't forgiven himself yet. I don't think he ever will." He leaned towards her. "Just between us, he was playing with me and our father. He tripped and when our father caught him. Daylen accidentally incinerated him from the inside out. Turned our father into a statue made of charcoal." His face changed back to happiness like before. "Sad day but it was a accident." He said back to normal.

Contessa watched Sirus play around with her little sister and it made her smile. He was actually being a really nice guy and she wondered if the rest of his family was actually as nice as he was. Or maybe he's the black sheep in the family for being so nice. her self conscious pointed out. Contessa frowned at this and highly doubted that was the case. "You have a point there Sirus, everyone is a stranger until they get to know each other." she started and thought for a bit. Her mother took her baby back into her arms and was surprised when Sirus vanished only to appear again near Contessa. Her husband was also surprised but he was relaxed, Sirus seemed to pose no threat to his family. Snapping out of her thoughts, Contessa's honey golden eye looked at Sirus and a smile appeared on her face as she learned more about her future husband to be. However, that smile quickly vanished, a frown in its place when Sirus told her the dark secret. "Oh dear!" she gasped and widened her eye. "I...I cannot imagine what he must be feeling. I do not know what I would do if my dad or my mum were gone. Oh it must be awful. Accident or not, the poor soul obviously feels terrible for what happened." Contessa started and wondered if she could ever cheer him up, or at least make him realize that it was an accident and that it could have happened to anyone. "I do look forward to meeting this man. No one is quite happy with the arrangement, but the counsel knows best I suppose." she commented softly.

Sirus jumped with glee and slightly clapped once more. His smile got rather large for his face as he ignored all previous reactions from Contessa and her family. "Would you like to meet him now?" He suddenly asked and without a single answer. "Oh it will interestingly fun." He said excited before he blinked from their sights once more. Only this time to return with a guy identical to him in looks and clothing. Only the difference was facial expressions and the clothing were different in color. While he was happy and colorful the new guy was dark and gloomy. "Sirus..." The man hissed darkly at his brother. "Get your hands off me." He said jerking from his twins grasp. He suddenly froze seeing he was in a different place then his manor. He turned and looked around until his eyes landed on Contessa and her family.

He closed his eyes, it was obvious he wasn't very happy with his twin. "This is your fiancee." Sirus told Contessa excitedly. "We're not getting married Sirus!" He snapped to the happy male in the background. But his brother just rolled his eyes at his younger brother. Daylen looked at Contessa and her family, he wasn't sure what to do and although his brother just laughed. He was sure they probably didn't find it funny. "Daylen is a little grumpy from the news. But he is a nice guy, I promise." Daylen just glared at his brother. He wanted to knock that smile off his face but was trying to be respectful in his fiancee's house.

Contessa blinked, rather surprised at Sirus' words. "Meet him now? I can?" she asked and grinned. "Oh I'd really like to Sirus!" she said rather excitedly. She didn't know why she was so eager to meet this man, but before anyone could object, Sirus was gone. "Oh?" she started and was confused as too where he went and why. He was back though, without any warning and this time he wasn't alone. Beside him stood a man looking rather depressed, quite the opposite of Sirus that it was hard to think that they were brothers. Her parents both looked at the two males now, both confused and sharing anxious looks. It was clear to everyone that the other male really wasn't fond of the arrangement and wasn't looking forward to it. Contessa curtsied anyway and managed a small smile. "It's very nice to meet you." she said to the grumpy male.

"W-well...I know you do not like the idea of having to marry me, but there really isn't anything to be done about it." she said and quickly hid behind her father. Daylen terrified her, was he going to yell at her the same way he yelled at his own brother? If Sirus said he was a nice guy, then he was probably right even though Daylen didn't look all that nice at the moment. "We don't have to marry right away, we can wait a bit. I wouldn't want to rush anyone into doing something they clearly don't want to do." Contessa added with a frown. Her father gently pat her head and looked over at his wife who was cradling a sleepy Carolyn in her arms. His attention went back to the two males though as he waited to see how this encounter would turn out. "I think I'll go put Carolyn to bed now. I'll be back, but if you're gone when I return then it was very nice meeting you both." Contessa's mother said as she excused herself to put Carolyn into her crib to sleep.

Daylen just sighed deeply, he was making a bad impression and he knew it. Before he could do anything or apologize, Sirus reached up and smacked him upside his head. "Apologize. You will respect the arrangement and you will behave yourself." Sirus was serious as he crossed his arms. He knew Daylen wanted to hit him in return but just glared darkly at him. Daylen turned to Contessa and bowed slightly, his right hand folding over his chest as he did. "Forgive my rudeness. It was uncalled for." He simply said before straighten. "Night baby!" Sirus called out to the mother and the child before he realized what was happening. "That was my ear." Daylen said to his brother who just giggled. "Sorry, gumpy." Daylen just crossed his arms before turning away from his brother. "I believe my mother rather it be done and over with as soon as possible." Sirus just nodded. "Our mother is very impatient when it comes to weddings." His smile just filled his face, while Daylen just kept his face stern and emotionless. They really were to opposite side of a coin. Sirus just winked at Contessa before he placed his right hand on his brother's shoulder. "It is late, we should be going. " Daylen just nodded in reply. "I will see you bright and early Miss Contessa, dress pretty." He said before blinking away with Daylen.

Once they were home Daylen glared at his brother. "You hit me in the head." Sirus just held his hands up in defence . "Down boy, you deserved it." Before Daylen could grab his brother, Sirus just blinked away. "Coward!" Daylen shouted to his brother. He rubbed his face, he was back in the cell. He plopped down on the cot once more and stared at the dripping ceiling annoyed.

Contessa couldn't help but giggle at Sirus' sudden action towards Daylen. Quickly, she placed her hands over her mouth and glanced up at her father who only smiled down at her. Contessa then looked back at the brothers and raised an eyebrow when Daylen apologized to her. It was very uncalled for! she thought to herself but said nothing as she watched the way they behaved together. They really were opposites and that was very entertaining to watch in silence. Contessa's mother returned after putting Carolyn to bed and stood by her husband's side, smiling politely at the two brothers. "Oh, well then I suppose we shouldn't keep her waiting, I wouldn't want to upset her." Contessa answered honestly. If they had to rush into the wedding, she knew nothing good would come from it but she didn't want to upset anyone either. She liked making people happy even if she herself wasn't happy. Nodding at what Sirus said, Contessa waved. "Goodnight, and I'll keep that in mind." she said and watched them vanish.

"Oh dear, I don't think I can do this. That man, Daylen is frightening and he really doesn't want to marry me. What if we get married and all he does is treat me like...like rusty gears?" she said and frowned. "Watch your mouth sweetheart." warned her father. "Sorry dad, sorry Mum." she said, hearing her mother gasp. "If he treats you badly, we will have to deal with it in a civilized manner. We can talk to his mother about it, she could then deal with her son as she wishes." her mother explained and started gathering up the dishes to wash them. "Contessa dear, go get some sleep. Tomorrow you must be up rather early and properly dressed. It will be quite a busy day for you." her mother suggested and looked to her husband. "You need to be in bed too darling, you have work tomorrow." she said. Contessa smiled and kissed her mother's cheek and then her father's cheek. "Goodnight mum and dad." she said and headed upstairs to her room. Her father stayed in the kitchen though to help out her mother with the dishes. So much for a nice dinner.

The morning air felt fresh with a slight hint summer lingering in their massive garden. Sirus just sipped on his tea while his mother's fine china clinked softly as she set her tea spoon gently down "It is a beautiful morning." Sirus chirped happily, their mother was similar to his brother, she had changed the day her husband died, as many other family members. "I agree." She simply stated before taking a delicate sip of tea. Her caramel colored hair was pulled back into a tight bun, her Victorian styled dress was crimson red with white lace trimming. Flowers gently embroider their way around the chest and sleeves. Sirus set his cup down before looking at his pocket watch. He smiled at his mother before standing. "Excuse me, dear mother but I really should get going." She just nodded to her son before he blinked out of sight.

Daylen was forcefully pushed into his bathroom with a fresh pair of clothes held with in his arms. "Stop touching me Sirus!" He hiss dark only to be ignored by the hyperactive twin. "Don't make me go in there and bathe you myself." He spat playfully back at the angry man before he closed the door quickly. He leaned against the bathroom door so his twin couldn't escape. He would if he had to and he was sure Daylen knew it. Although Daylen would beat the heck out of him before he could. "Just clean up, your fiancee is coming in a few hours and you look like crap." He said chuckling through the door. Daylen just sighed, he knew that nothing he did was going to change his brother's mind. "I hate you." He told his brother before going to clean up.

Contessa was up very early with the help of her parents. Her father was examining her arm, fixing whatever needed fixing while her mother started looking through Contessa's various dresses."Well deary, what color would you like to wear?" asked her mother. Contessa frowned, "I do not know mother. Perhaps I should wear the nicest one I own?" she suggested. Her mother smiled and pulled out a pink dress with long sleeves made of white lace. It had a pleated skirt, a white doll collar and a white belt at the waist. "I think this one is lovely, and you've only worn it once." her mother said softly. Contessa stared at the dress and smiled. "I'll wear that one then mother." she said and looked at her father who was finishing up. "Alright sweetheart, get yourself cleaned up. If you need anything just call for us." he said as he dusted off her arm and left the room with his wife, closing the door behind them. Nodding, Contessa excused herself and walked to the bathroom where she started up a warm shower and stepped inside.

She couldn't be late, the last thing she wanted to do was arrive late and make a terrible first impression to their mother. What was the mother like? Was she like Sirus or like Daylen? Maybe a mixture of both? She didn't know but she didn't want to upset her either way. Lathering her hair in shampoo, she washed it gently then rinsed off before starting to wash her body easily. When she was done, she rinsed herself off and shut off the warm water then stepped out and dried herself off. Wrapping the towel around herself, Contessa stepped out into her bedroom and dropped the towel to the floor and started to get dressed. "I hope I look somewhat presentable when I'm done..." she said to herself and frowned. She was always so self conscious about the way she looked when she was meeting other people. When she was done, she looked in the mirror and smiled at her reflection. "Mum! Can you help me with my hair?" she called out. Without warning, both her parents were in her room, her father was holding Carolyn in his arms. "You look beautiful sweetheart." her father said honestly. "Thank-you dad." Contessa replied as her mother began to brush her hair gently.

Daylen sat on his bed after he was cleaned up, his hair was resting straight down framing his face. "Maybe we should do something with your hair." Sirus said playfully at his twin, who just glared at him. "Touch me again, I dare you." He hissed darkly. Sirus just waved his finger in the air like a parent scolding a child. "Now, now. Lose that scowl." His eyes suddenly widen as he chuckled. "That rhymed." Daylen just sighed. How was he related to someone so childish all the time. His outfit was the same as all the others, plain and gloamy. "We need to get you color." Sirus told him as he looked his twin up and down. He just ignored Daylen's comment. "Yeah, yeah. Color bad." He said smiling his goofy grin. The twins slowly made their way to the garden. "Mother." Daylen address his mother plainly before she told him to sit. "Really Daylen, you could have dressed yourself up better than that." Was all she said to her son before sipping her tea. "Hn." Was all he could reply.

Sirus had blink to the same spot he was when he watched Contessa and her family last night. "Hello?" He softly called out. Once he saw no movement downstairs, well he wasn't even sure if there was two stories in the place. He just shrugged as he walked around looking at the pictures of Contessa and her family. He was excited to see how everything would turn out today.

Contessa sat still like a statue on the small chair in front of her vanity table as her mother brushed her curls. "Remember to behave Contessa. They might be the enemy but we do not want to be rude in any situation. We are not bad people." her mother reminded seriously. Contessa nodded as she looked at herself in the large mirror in front of her. "I know mum, I promise to behave myself." she promised. Her father looked up when he heard the familiar voice of Sirus and looked at both his wife and Contessa. "Looks like it's time for you to go sweetheart, I'll tell him you'll be right down." he said and quickly headed downstairs with Carolyn in his arms. When he saw Sirus looking at the family photos, he smiled and walked over. "Hello again, she'll be right down. She's just fixing up her hair." he explained politely.

Contessa's mother hurriedly finished brushing her daughter's hair and placed the hairbrush down on the table. "All done deary. You look beautiful." she said and grinned happily. Contessa mirrored her mother's grin when she saw her brushed hair and stood. "Let's go, we mustn't keep anyone waiting." she said. Her mother nodded and they quickly smoothed out Contessa's dress and headed downstairs where both Sirus and Contessa's father were. "Hello again Sirus, It's very nice to see you again. You look as happy as ever." Contessa greeted with a low curtsy. Seeing him always cheered her up, his cheerful personality was pretty contagious.

Sirus smiled brightly at Contessa's father. "I can't wait." He simply told him, his excitement showing. His face lit up upon seeing Carolyn in her father's arm. "Hi baby." He said walking over to her, once more he rolled his hands to summon a extremely soft stuffed rabbit. It was beige in color, slightly fuzzy material and wore a pretty pink dressed with matching shoes. He handed the toy to Carolyn then leaned playfully towards her father, placing a hand up near his own mouth as if to block the baby from hearing his words. "I'm aiming for the title 'favorite uncle.'" He chuckled before standing straight and waving his back and forth to protest his own words. "I kid, I kid." His smile returning to his face. He turned his attention towards Contessa and her her mother. "You look stunning." He told her happily. "Truth be told, I'm jealous my brother gets such a lovely bride." He was serious be still cheerful with his words.

He held out his hands for Contessa to grab. "First time blinking might make you slightly queasy but it won't last long, I promise." He said playfully. "Mother is short on time today so we should get going, you'll love her." He told her reassuringly. He wasn't going to tell her that it would be mostly her and Daylen alone for the day; call it one of his surprises for later.

Carolyn laughed cutely as Sirus made the soft bunny appear. Her hands reached out for it and happily held onto it tightly. Her small fingers ran over the material of the dress, making her laugh again. Her father laughed softly at Sirus' words and nodded, "I think you're winning already. She really seems to like your company." he explained warmly. His attention was focused on his wife and Contessa when they arrived. "There she is." he said happily. Contessa smiled and walked over to Sirus, her mother taking her place beside her husband. "Thank-you kindly Sirus." Contessa answered and chuckled softly. He was always so nice, it was very reassuring. She was finally going to see how her husband to be lived, and she couldn't help but worry that he wasn't going to be too happy to see her. He might call you ugly, or just say nothing at all. her subconscious whined. Maybe everything he said would be forced. Contessa didn't want to think about that though, she wanted to keep an open mind, besides, he had a reason to be so depressed.

Taking Sirus' hands, she listened carefully to what he was saying and nodded. "Understood." she said and smiled warmly. "You'll do fine sweetheart, just relax and be yourself." her father assured. "Thank-you dad. Goodbye mum, dad, Carolyn. I will be back soon I'm sure." she promised and looked at Sirus. "Well then, let's not keep her waiting now." Contessa said with a grin on her face.

He nodded in agreement to her words before the world around Contessa and himself swirled into mixtures of colors, the closer the colors spiraled together into the center the more timed stopped. A heavy wave of pressure consumed them but quickly faded into a sensation of falling from a great high; suddenly stopping. The colors reversed molding into a completely different scene within seconds. It was a rather elegant mansion, the floor was a caramel brown marble with black marble tile patterns. The ceiling were vaulted and carved with elegant designs surrounding the golden crown. White marble columns trace the long entrance like hallway, framing the front doors and archways that lead to the side. Expensive paintings decorated the walls and well as expensive carpeting enchanted the floors. Dark cherry wood furnishing just added to the spacious mansion. "Follow me." He said playfully dropping one of her hands and leading her with the other. He lead her through the entrance way with two grand-arch staircases framing both side of a rather large fire place. He pull her through a grand ballroom and out onto a large paddio, down the stairs and into a the spectacular garden.

Daylen stood up when he saw Contessa and Sirus head towards them. It was mostly out of the fact, he was taught to stand in the presence of a lady. "You look... lovely." He said slightly embarrassed. He truly meant it even if she didn't believe him. Their mother just looked at her, slowly her eyes went down then back up. "I'll see we have to take you shopping child." She said smiling softly. She was in no way insulting her, just stating she did stick out here with them. Sirus let go of her hand as Daylen pulled out a seat from her.

Contessa wasn't sure if she should close her eye or keep it open as a myriad of colors swirled before her eyes. She couldn't bring herself to close her eye though, the colors were too lovely to ignore. He sees this every single time he does this?! she thought to herself and smiled. He was obviously used to it by now, and she was somewhat jealous of him being able to see so many colors in between his travels. She couldn't see any colors like this on the daily basis. She suddenly started feeling as if she was falling and her eye widened in fear, was this normal? She trusted Sirus though, nothing bad was going to happen. She repeated that mantra in her mind and gasped when she found herself in a different place. Looking at the lovely tile flooring, fancy carpet and beautiful decor she knew she was in Sirus' home. Looking at how beautiful and large this place was, she shrank slightly and frowned suddenly feeling self conscious. "You have a very lovely home Sirus." she commented quietly, her eye wide and her state in full awe at the beauty of this place. It really put her house to shame. The difference? She was comfortable in her home, here she was feeling pretty uncomfortable at the moment. Get a hold of yourself Contessa, it's just a house. You shouldn't be scared, you haven't even met their mother yet. Behave and act natural, they're regular people with normal feelings like you. she thought to herself and managed to smile. This house or better yet, mansion was huge! She could probably get lost in this place! Silently, she followed Sirus; her eye taking in every detail of the house. Everything about this house just made her feel terrible about herself, she wasn't ashamed of who she was or where she came from, but it was obvious that being here she would only end up being made fun of. She wasn't going to fit in here at all, she stood our like a weed in a field of roses.

The garden was beautiful, it left her speechless. Her home didn't really have a garden since they really didn't have time to create one, but perhaps she could start one when she got home? Their house is very intimidating! she whined mentally and tried not to panic when she saw Daylen and a woman. That was probably their mother and suddenly she became self conscious again and looked down at her dress before looking back up and smiled nervously at Daylen before curtsying in respect. "It's nice to see you again." she said politely and then turned to face their mother and curtsied as well. "It's nice to finally meet you." she said kindly, smiling as she did so. When she heard what Daylen said, she smiled; "Thank-you kindly." she said and widened her eye at what their mother said. "Oh thank-you, but you shouldn't trouble yourself Ma'am." she said honestly flattered at the thought. It was really nice of her to offer but she liked her clothes and didn't really think she needed new ones. Contessa believed Daylen's compliment was an honest one since he didn't look annoyed or displeased when he said it. "Thank-you." she said quietly as she sat on the seat pulled out for her. Relax, just relax Contessa. You'll be fine.her subconscious reassured.

Both Sirus and Daylen waited til Contessa took her seat before seating themselves. Their mother softly set her cup down. "Oh dear child there is no need to curtsy after all we will be family soon." She said trying to put the clearly nervous girl at ease. "Besides I insist on the shopping. Call it a bonding experience, you can even bring all the girls in your family." She said sweetly. "I like how she is dressed now. It's refreshing." Sirus said with one of his feet propped up on his chair, with a arm resting over his knee, he popped a cookie into his mouth playfully before making a yummy sound. "I agree." Shortly after said Daylen. He wasn't very fancy, never did parties or gathering; so lace and frills were unnecessary in his view.

Sirus had ignored the comments about the home at the time but waved his hand in the air after he seated. He suddenly wanted to just spring it out. "Oh Daylen, Miss Contessa finds your home... lovely, was it?" He said playfully as Daylen poured Contessa a small cup of tea. "Oh, thank you." He said softly. "It was their childhood home, their Father grew up here as well." Their mother chimed in softly, she lightly shifted in her chair but never lost her elegant pose. "And for Heaven's sake Sirus, take your foot off the chair." She simple stated before beckoning his foot with a hand. With an unseen force his foot jumped off the chair and landed on the grass. He just shrugged before replying with a 'Yes mother.' And once more popped a cookie into his mouth happily as Daylen just shook his head at his brother.
