For me, it's the friends. I wouldn't care if this was plain old no-layout PHPBB - just the small community I vastly prefer to Gaia.

i do art. but it sucks compared to everyone elses. so i dont think i'd want to open one. it'd just get passed over by more capable and skilled artists.

I think this thread was started a while ago like when there were 5 shops or something. But now there are a lot more shops and a lot more auctions and such. :) I agree with LunaMiel that we do have quite a few gaian artists here that I've only seen in auctions. XD
