Greetings, everyone! I am Iroase Delschatten, or Iro (ee-roh) for short.
I first picked up the pencil and found my hobby in art when I was almost the age of 9, inspired by the manga Sailormoon. After that, I never once looked back, although I did have my bad years. I am a fan of both manga and comics (mostly DC Comics) and also have a passion for games, although I don't have much time for them these days.
Whether you draw or not, everyone is welcome to chat and hang around! Company is always good, and it really doesn't matter if you think your skills are good or bad. Some of the best critiques I have ever received came from a good friend who doesn't draw, and that's one of the purposes of this thread, isn't it? Supporting and helping each other is what we are all about.
This is a listing for the artists here on Menewsha with the links to their art shops(s) or website(s).
If you wish to be listed, post your links in the thread (ping me too with @Iroase Delschatten;)!
Other could be any other links you want, like art requests, contests, etc.
Here you could find some tutorials which might help you in art.
If you have a tutorial you think is useful and would like to share with us, please do!
Soft Cell Shading (Adobe Photoshop)
A tutorial which utilizes a colouring style seen often on anime and manga based art. Also covers lineart and lighting.
Video Tutorial on Digital Painting (Adobe Photoshop)
This is a good video of the process of digital painting. This gears more to semi-realism and concept art quality.
Feng Zhu Video Tutorials (Adobe Photoshop)
Feng Zhu is a prominent figure in the world of concept art for movies and games, having done concept arts for Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Transformers, Gears of War and a lot more. On that page, you could see a whole list of video tutorials Feng Zhu himself have done. You could also check out his gallery!
3DTotal (3DMax, Autodesk Maya, Zbrush etc.)
One of my favourite (and the better) sites for 3D artists. There are many excellent tutorials as well as insights to professionally made 3D models, renders and animation.
Other links which might be useful for artists, new and old alike.
Posemaniacs
A VERY useful site for pose references and one of the best I've seen so far. Each pose could be rotated and seen from different angles.
Finart.sk
A website for your one stop source of fine art. There are many live photo references, scans from anatomy books and many others.
CGTalk
This is a brilliant forum for both 2D and 3D artists alike. The community is made out of many experienced students as well as professionals, so you could get a lot of good tips and advise.
