Even as the engines sent the vessel gliding through space, the quiet shape glowed through the dark corridors of space, emitting the soft cyan light, pulsing along the hull in gentle waves. This was the Black Haven, a specialized ship created by the hands of the man known only as the mysterious Doctor.

It hadn't taken him long to gather a crew for a specialized mission, but then again, perhaps it wasn't all his doing alone. No perhaps it was down to the young woman that he was taking care of. Those who met her knew her as Yuli at least this was how she wold introduce herself, she had tricked some of the crew into encountering the Doctor, and others she had lead.

Enticed by the girl, the mission, or any of the perks that came with being on the Black Haven, a crew had been assembled, an engineer crew, a firing team, a pilot of particular note, a muscular woman, brawny but with a good attitude, Miss Hannah Lynx. They had a few merc soldiers, tough men who prized the danger of a mission the Doctor stated could result in death.

And although the Doctor was the actual leader of the expedition, there was one last thing he needed, an acting captain. He was no leader, or he had lost faith in his ability. No the crew needed some-one more substantial. And Yuli was going to see that man very shortly.
Even as the calm, frail-seeming girl bounded along the hallway with an odd serene grace in her footsteps, she remained almost emotionless, still. She'd actually given some people the creeps, even in the face of mercenaries, tough mechanics, dock workers, soldiers. She remained calm.

The universe was full of the worst scum, but Yuli somehow sat at the opposite end of the spectrum, creating perfect equilibrium.
She stopped at the door of their acting captain, reached forward with one hand and pressed the soft chiming doorbell that linked to his room,
"Hello?" She questioned the door curiously, of course she knew that when the bell was pressed a microphone was activated so she could talk to whoever was in the room. It was the same with all the resting quarters on the ship, "Acting-Captain, are you in there?"

The Acting-Captain stood quietly in his room pondering the miracle that it was that he landed such an interesting position aboard the ship named the Black Haven. And then the mission itself--that was another different story. The acting captain, Felix Sidra, hailed from a different galaxy called Asta and his planet was the fourth from the sun, Vitaal. In his younger years he never imagined being a "captain" of any sort. He wasn't a scientific person, but neither was he a simpleton. Before working up to the job title he was an inventor back home. Being stationary wasn't something that he liked. He needed more in life. It was luck or fortune that he crossed paths with the mysterious Doctor.

Well, besides pondering his life up until this point, Felix was prepping himself for the journey ahead. His concentration diverted to the sound of the chime on his door. His head looked back at it from where he stood.

"Come in," he said casually.

He recognized the voice through the intercom. That Yuli was different as well. Her appearance seemed normal but there was something interesting about her. The same could be said for their Acting-Captain, although not to such a deep degree. His species was strange at first glance. Their noses were more flat and rat-like but the shape of his face was like a human being. His ears were pointed and black at the tips. His skin was a deep red and his hair was white as snow and he kept it behind his ears, though it reached a little past his shoulders. Felix did bare a tail that accompanied his rat-like visage and as far as footwear went, he preferred to be without it, as his feet were made to walk on rough terrain.

Regardless, he waited for Yuli to enter as he looked over several of his notes on a desk near him.

This would have been the cue for any normal person to press the Open button next to the door, but not Yuli, instead she placed her hand against the door, a soft ripple of hexagon tiles spreading from her touch before it hissed open in the natural way, splitting horizontally and the top and bottom halves sliding apart. The same light display would not have been seen inside the room. No, all Felix would have seen was the young woman stepping in quietly, hands behind her back as she looked about the room. Nothing really out of the ordinary except for the containers holding Felix' things.

Some people had been on long enough to start unpacking things for their rooms. Hannah had fitted a boxing bag and various collectible, but otherwise impractical weapons. And several models of spaceships. She supposed she would have to wait until Felix unpacked to see a little more about him,
"Hello. The Doctor said I should come and get you." She stated, calm as always, not even unnerved by his unusual appearance. It was a common trait of many species to regard the other with a little apprehension. Humans more so than most. They would flinch, or stare in a way that suggested that they'd not seen enough of aliens to be comfortable around them.

But there were those odd ones, like the Doctor or Yuli, who treated aliens like they treated everyone. They were just people, different people. But perhaps in Yuli's case there was a little something more to it,
"He says you should know a little bit more about the mission, beyond the fact that it is potentially life-threatening." The girl's face curved into just an odd sort of smile, "Are you ready? After the meeting we will be having the general orientation, to meet the other people on board. The Doctor says it is important to know who you are working with."
She turned on her heel, making to leave the room but then looked back at Felix for a moment,
"The uniform looks good on you. I had to borrow some Vitaal patterns to get the tail hole just right, does it need any adjustments?"
