Haha, mine isn't all that exciting either. Tutoring and then homework. Whoo!

I didn't wake up until 11:30 (dad's at church so I don't get grumped at, haha), but I have tutoring in half an hour at 1pm! I need to leave in a few minutes so I can manage to get a seat, but man does it suck.

Hrm... so... an interesting opportunity presented itself today that left me a bit boggled. I need to get more information, but basically someone I know gave my name to the agency I used to work at, and they unanimously agreed I would be a great board member for the agency itself. Flattering, but I've found that since graduating a lot are asking me to do things. I went to two classes at the university over the past couple weeks to speak with students about working in the field, so to speak, and about graduating and life after undergrad.

I don't know of the board member position would be paid. If it's not, I can't. From what I understand, non profit board member positions are often like working an additional full-time job. It's nothing I'm thinking too deeply on, as I don't know what to expect. I'll get more info in the next week or two. I told my colleague that I'm deciding nothing until I get acclimated to my new job and figure out whether or not we get the house. Nothing happens until the juggling balls settle.

Well that's flattering at the very least! It would be nice if it were paid. But yeah, unpaid would just be too much. Very cool. :D

I forgot to add my main thought process (lol).

Some of my colleagues seem to work 24/7, and that's just not me. I can't function with every ounce of free time filled with stuff. Who could have time for family and housework, general maintenance of the home? I feel like when you get roped up into "doing", you miss out on more.

That, and I can't escape what one of my best friends says about her mom. Her mom was very involved in her community (same field I'm in), and she missed her. A lot. And I remember my mom working all the time, and I lost out. Big time. I don't want to do that to Terra. And, if I'm brutally honest... I want another baby. Not right now, but in the next few years.

I'll still check it out. It seems a great opportunity for professionalism AND helping to network my new job. But dude.

Yeah I can see that. I even feel that way when I don't see my dogs enough. I mean, they probably only have another nine years if I'm lucky. They deserve my time.

Terra deserves mine, too. We only just recently got her out of full-time daycare, and I think she likes having more time with Cole. I say Cole since I'm still full time. Er, Cole is too, but it's different. He works night shift, so she's only in daycare the days he needs sleep and I work. When I start my new job, she may need the daycare even less... not sure.

I'm sure whatever you decide, it will be the best decision for your family. You're a good mom.

D'aww, thanks. <3

If she were in high school/socializing outside of the house more often, I'd not even be debating the opportunity. Er, unless it's unpaid. Because no. I plan on applying for a scholarship awarded to people in my county that plan to stay and work within it, but if you're accepted you need to give some type of community engagement proposal and do some type of work for free. It's a $5k/year thing. I'd have meetings and stuff with that, should I be accepted. It only just dawned on me applications are due in July, and it's May. O_o Where did that creep up..? Yikes.

Ack! That's not long at all. x_X

I just went to check application stuff for the scholarship, but they haven't put up the 2014 stuff yet. Should be any time now...

Yeah, I'm freaking out a little. I still haven't finished reading my astronomy review. Which isn't really a review since I've never taken astronomy.

Thanks for the faith and reassurance. I'm really good at the sciences I know. But geology and astronomy are just not my thing. I passed my practice test, I think.

Just remember what you told me... you'll pass it! Even if you don't feel you will, you will. Study what you can and focus on your weaker areas.

It would be AWESOME. But you know...scars that kind of act like arthritis is...cool? Haha. The ones on my wrist, my foot, and my knee are the worst ones. My chin and the IV and pencil and nail ones don't hurt as much.

I just realized I kind of have a lot of scars.

Scars always tell a story though, which makes them cool!

I should be in bed. Don't wanna! I did get the Keurig descaled and scrubbed up though, so that's something. Cole will take me to work tomorrow since my car will be in the shop until Wednesday... and hopefully not later than that!

We need to get to bed early tonight too. We have to take the kitty in for his surgery tomorrow.
My scars all tell really stupid stories, haha. The really good injuries didn't leave any scars.
