You know, that would be a good way to learn to draw...
Trace things for awhile until you get the "feel" of it.

Yeah, that's how I do it.
I'll draw it on paper, upload it on to my computer and trace my drawing with my pen and tablet.
I'm still getting used to free-hand drawing on the tablet, and tracing my drawings help me.

That's what I used to do. I copied drawings from a book, then once I understood what I was doing, I developed my own style.

It takes practice.
Some people are quick learners though.
Unlike me, who couldn't even draw a decent circle when I first started using my tablet. xD

*high fives Roza* It took me so long to get used to tablets.

I really wish I could draw. My art teachers always told me "everyone can draw!" but I prove that rule wrong ^^

Haha, yeah.
It was frustrating at first.
I actually gave up for a while. >.<

I think everyone can draw.
Now, maybe not everyone can become Picasso or something, but yeah.
No-one ever mentions skills.

Sure, I can draw, but I'm slow 'cause I'm a perfectionist that's excellent at making numerous mistakes. I erase a LOT.

Oh so do I, Amane. xD
I'm constantly being unsatisfied with how things come out,
but there are times where I actually like how my drawings come out.

A lot of times, I struggle like mad and still find my drawings unsatisfactory when I decide I'm done. Then I look at it a few days later and it's like, "I drew this? It's perfect!"

I just want to get to the point where I can draw what is on my mind.
I have so many wonderful ideas, that I can't convey on paper sometimes. >.<

I started out trying to free draw on my tablet, but I couldn't find a good enough program to use.

I started out with Gimp.
But when I got my Tablet, it came with Photoshop and Correl Painter.
Then of course, there's Paint.NET.
I guess it depends.
SAI is a nice program too.

I know! Too many ideas, not enough skill.

I did a free draw on my tablet last week. I ended up deleting the whole thing.

I just use paint. Once I'm done tracing, I use a free program called Photoscape to make the scanned part go away.

I used to use MS Paint.
Actually, one of my favourite art pieces I did, was done on Paint.

I haven't had difficulties with Paint other than the limited things you can do. What I need to do, though, Photoscape lets me do. :)

I have Photoshop elements, but I had trouble drawing stuff so that I could color it in...

My hubby's Mom was a really good Texas landscape painter.
She would sell her paintings at shows for prices in the hundreds.

She's been gone for many years.
A few years ago when hubby's Dad died, we were helping clean out some bookshelves, and looking through all her art books.

I found lots of tracing paper and some scenes that she had traced!
But those were when she was learning... more for perspectives.

I'm going to try that.
But I'll wait until the kitchen is done.

This is one of my favourites that I did on MS Paint.

Sorry I left again.
