I don't have a chocolate fountain just a special double boiler. basically a fondu pot. but it works for melting chocolate and cheese too so I'm happy. pretty chocolate fountain would be awesome though.

I don't have a double boiler either! I keep meaning to look for one because a few recipes I want to use call for them. xD I can do a make shift one, but I'm sure it would be easier if I didn't have to constantly hold the second pan in the first.

a glass bowl works well over a metal one with the hot water. you wouldn't have to hold it yourself. and if you start to somehow "burn" (it'll look clumpy) any chocolate you can add a little butter to it and it tends to fix itself.

I used to do things that way before.

We did essentially that for making hollandaise sauce one morning. It was just so much more work than I really wanted. I felt it would have been easier had we had an actual double boiler. because none of our bowls fit quite right in the pots... lol

Hmm, I never thought of getting a double boiler....Maybe I should add that to the *Someday* list.

Oo yeah that would make things not fun for things to not fit right. I definitely have fun with the double broiler. I like making gift things using it like this year the family gift was the movie basket so I put in a bag of white chocolate covered popcorn. at least for the people I'd be seeing soon.

Description: Christmas Cake. I used a yellow cake recipe and made half of the batter green and the other half red before baking. Once it was finished and cooled I iced it with vanilla icing and decorated it with red, gold and green sprinkles.

I am only able to click on and see the entries from the sweets spoiler bar on the first page. None of the other bars open up, even though I know there should be stuff in all of them from looking through the thread.

I can't get them to open if I just edited the post, but after I refresh I don't have any problems.
