In a land not very far from ours, there is a school for the gifted. Here, they train and harness the powers of young individuals in hopes that one day, they can protect others and those they hold dear. This boarding school, run by headmaster Frederic Alyellis, has produced many great sorcerers, elementalists, and other powerful beings alike, but an unfortunate event causes the school to crumble, bringing its headmaster, and students, with it. The rival school, Sabre School of the Dark Arts, no longer wants to linger in the shadows and starts to wreak havoc amongst those in the magic world. The fine line between the mortal world and the magic world sits shakily in between. The real question is... how far is Sabre willing to go?

Aleria wasn’t born in the magic world; she was originally from the mortal world, but when she found out that she could do things that “normal” people couldn’t, she was isolated and labelled as a “freak” so she never had many friends. Her parents, who had also been afraid of her, had abandoned her at an orphanage where she was picked up by a magical family and brought to the magic world. She lived there with her new family for a while, but met with a terrible tragedy.
Wanting to strengthen her abilities and becomes stronger, she enrolled as a new student to the boarding school and is beginning her first year at Alyellis Academy. Because of the neglect, seclusion, and misery she has experienced through her life, she tends to keep to herself and doesn’t like to get too close to anyone.
Powers/Abilities:
She can manipulate and control the elements (but she’s not very good at it) and also nature, and she can also conjure things from thin air. She has the ability to heal, though she doesn’t use it often because it absorbs a lot of her energy and doesn’t always work.

TJ (Thomas Jackson) boards at Alyellis Academy since the age of 12. When he turned 15 he chose his special area of study, the study of illusion magic. When he was younger his father taught him how to use the elements for passive and aggressive use as that's what his father studied when he attended the academy. He is a confident guy and isn't afraid to speak his mind. His associate animal that was given to him when he joined the academy is a Ruby Dragonfly that will stay with him until the day he dies.

She has a very outgoing and girly personality and loves to talk about the latest gossip or the latest fashions. She always has a smile on her face and can never stop talking.
Her favourite colour is pink and she likes to experiment with make-up. She is very pretty and popular with the boys, but she also gets along great with other girls.

Austin only got to Alyellis Acadamy on money alone by paying 5x then what should have been paid he was "accepted" He is part of a group of people who think they run the school. For no explained reason he has a strong dislike towards TJ, but always seems to come off worse in confrontation. In all respects he is a Bully, he treats everyone like dirt until someone says enough is enough.

Shane is TJ's room-mate at the academy they have been friends since their first year and are always playing pranks on one another he is confident but his attitude towards certain topics are different, in some cases you could say that Shane and TJ are polar opposites, this could be a reason why they get on so well. He's always trying to go for the girls and consider's himself a ladies man, the girls like him for his happy-go-lucky attitude but couldn't get into an intermittent relationship with him.

Nina is TJ's ex girlfriend, but still has the hot's for him, although TJ has completely blocked her out of his life she still believes that there is a chance for them both. The only thing is she was the one who dumped TJ not the other way round, also her sense of timing wasn't that good either on that fateful day, she tries to flirt with TJ still but he just sees right through it. She can be eccentric at time going over the top when it isn't needed. Such as shouting in public places.

Aleria's heart sped up as the academy came into view. It was like nothing she'd ever seen before. The grass was trimmed to perfection, the place was bustling with students, both new and old, and the building... the building was enormous. There were endless rows of stained-glass windows aligning the outer, stone walls. A crystal clear fountain sat in the middle of the front yard and the paths were made of warm, beige cobblestones. To think... she'd be spending the next few years living here... She just wished she could be more excited.

She wondered if she'd fit in here. She was never good at making friends... not that it mattered. She only had one goal in mind after all. She came here to get stronger... and that was what she was going to do. Besides, getting too close to people would just lead to her getting hurt, and she didn't know if she could go through that again. She vowed to become stronger here so that she could protect the ones close to her and no one would ever dare to hurt her again. Though... who was there left to protect? They were all gone. Gone with no chance of ever coming back.

Dragging her suitcase behind her, she turn right onto the quiet path; if there was one thing she absolutely wanted to avoid, it was the hustle and bustle of all the students at the main entrance. All the squealing and shouting... it just wasn't her thing.

She closed her eyes as she felt the sunlight beat down on her skin. It was a beautiful day, and the path she had taken was nice and quiet. It was very calm and peaceful. She felt like she could just lose herself. The orientation wasn't for another two hours, what was the harm of taking a little walk? The trees – that resembled Cherry Blossoms from the mortal world – were in full bloom and the petals fell to the ground just by her feet. It was such a beautiful sight. So beautiful, in fact, that it felt like magic.

Magic... it was her best friend, yet her worst enemy.

TJ looked out of his window to the court yard below seeing the students moving hurriedly he had stayed at the Academy over the summer to continue his studying, but because of the weather he had done less then he would have liked. The mix of apple and cherry blossom along the path ways looked like that the gardens were made of candy floss, he was waiting for someone to change them to blue or green like the year before. The thought made him chuckle, he continued to look out the window for another five minuets seeing people saying hello and good bye to one another. The Orientation wasn't for another two hours but he thought he would go for a stroll.

On his way down to the gardens he bumped in to a senior teacher by accident, he said his sorry's and made his way, but before he made 10 paces the teacher said that he would be touring a student around the school one the orientation was over. "Oh brilliant, just what I need when I'm behind on work as it is." Fuming a little he made his way outside towards the gardens. The weather was beautiful the sun was out and there was not a cloud in the sky. "I wonder how long this will last for?" he thought, he found a tree in the middle of the garden away form the noise and commotion that was happening at the gate, and sat under it enjoying the breeze and the sunshine until all hell would brake loose when school would officially begin.

Aleria had already spent a good hour sightseeing the beautiful gardens of the school. She glanced around... there was nobody in sight. Hm. Maybe I'll practice my magic a little. She wouldn't dare practice in front of anyone, it would only embarrass her. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't control the elements. It was so basic, yet she couldn't do it. Maybe if she practised now, she'd miraculously improve and not have to embarrass herself in class.

She tried out fire first. She closed her eyes and focused all of her magic into her hands, and when she opened her eyes she frowned. There was a a tiny flame that was instantly put out by the breeze. She cursed under her breath. Water must be easier. She spun her hands around an invisible ball and a drop of water formed, slowly growing with each passing second. It was working! She'd spoke too soon. The newly formed ball of water flew out of her grasp and right past her face. Phew... that was close. It almost hit me.

She froze when she heard a muffled grumble. She slowly turned around and saw a guy with soft black hair and chocolate-brown eyes was sitting just beneath one of the trees in the garden; her water ball had hit him square in the face. Their eyes met and she just stared back, unable to move or say anything. She quickly realised what she'd done and without hesitation, she grabbed her suitcase handle and ran back through the path, towards the main entrance. She'd lose herself in the crowd of students. Surely he hadn't gotten a good look at her face, right? She didn't wait to find out.

TJ was woken by a cold blast to the face,he groaned and mumbled as he wiped the water from his face and looked at the girl who looked petrified at what she had just done. She squeaked and turned to head back to the school. "Oh no, your not getting away that easily." he clicked his fingers and did a swiping motion in front of him, the girl was running with her suitcase in tow towards the exit of the gardens and a wall of water erupted in front of her blocking the way, he made his way over to the girl who was looking around franticly to find another exit.

"Now!" he shouted towards the girl, who slowly turned to face him. "You, have gotten me soaking wet. This is my only uniform. Is there any reason as to why you threw some water in my direction. You know I was having a lovely nap and then I have some cold water thrown into my face. You could have at least warmed it up a bit. He smiled towards the girl. Calm down! I'm not going to hurt you, we all make mistakes. Listen if you haven't noticed I'm pretty good with the elements, if you want, I can help you? So how about it?" He clicked his fingers and the wall collapsed sending water everywhere, including over the girl before him.

Aleria stood there, soaking wet from the enormous wave of water that had just half-drowned her. She blinked a couple of times, the annoyance growing inside of her. "I'm not very good at controlling the elements..." She started, trying to keep the anger inside. "The water ball happened to slip away from my grasp and hit you. It was an accident, and I'm sorry... but did you really just do that?!" She glared at him through her soaking strands of hair. The orientation was coming close and her clothes and hair were soaking wet. "What am I supposed to do now?" She muttered under her breath, shivering as the breeze picked up. Now they were both wet.

"Thanks, but I think I'll find help elsewhere." She turned on her heel and stalked off towards the main entrance. Though, she was extremely curious as to how the boy had such power. She'd never seen a wall of water that huge before. Oh well. All she was worried about now was finding out where her room was and changing out of these wet clothes. She debated just skipping the orientation altogether, but she had to show up because each new student was being assigned a tour guide. She wondered who her's would be.

With one last glance at the boy, she made her way to the front entrance.

TJ had to cover his mouth to stop laughing at the angered girl. He looked around the garden's noticing that water was everywhere. He made a quick motion, picking up the excess water gathering it into a ball and then spreading it over the flowers and other plants found in the garden until there was no more water. "It was as though I was never here." He mad a slow swirling motion above his head and forming a strong breeze slowly drying himself.

When he was contempt with himself he made his way to the auditorium and wait for the annual orientation to finish. Then the new students were assigned to their guides. The usual dull calling of the names was unnoticed by TJ until he heard him self get called forward and heard the name "Aleria Lexington" He thought about who it could be, he knew it was a girl or a very unfortunate boy and there were one or two at the academy that had such misfortune. "If it's that girl that was in the gardens? No it couldn't be... either that or the enrolment staff have a wicked sense of humour?" He made his way to the stage so that he could meet his mystery follower.

Having no time to find her room or change, she sighed and hurried to the orientation. She had just been in the ladies' room trying to wring out her clothes and hair so that she didn't look like she'd just fell into a lake, but it hadn't helped much. She'd almost tripped herself on the way to the auditorium because she was running late. Great... She hoped no one would notice her walk into the auditorium. It was probably dead silent in there except for the headmaster's voice.

She quietly slipped through the doors, but right as she got in, the spot light flew onto her. She brought her hands over her eyes to shield them against the sudden brightness. No... no no no... She felt her face go warm as whispers and giggles spread across the room.

"Aleria Lexington?" The announcer called out her name.

"Um... y-yes, that's me." She slowly made her way to the stage, still half-blinded by the spotlight that was following her.

"You're late." He stated aloud as if it weren't obvious already. "Meet your senior tour guide, TJ Penwarden."

She stepped up onto the stage and her eyes widened at the boy who was standing in front of her. "You're kidding..." She stared with disbelief. "You're my tour guide?" She stared at the familiar chocolate-brown eyes of the boy from before, feeling like she was going to fall over.

"Now now kids, get a move on. We have other people to announce." The announcer shooed them off the stage and she stood next to him, not knowing what to say. She was stuck with this guy for a tour guide! She'd have to wear a bathing suit throughout the whole tour if things were to go like they had this morning.

When TJ saw the spotlight find it's way over to the unknown person that had just entered the room he automaticly noticed her as the girl from this morning "Oh this is too much" He gave a half smile as he made his way over to Aleria hoping that she wouldn't torch his face off, the thought made him laugh a little.

"So we meet again Miss Lexington. It's nice to finally know your name" I see you've tried to eh-hem dry your self after today's little, uh, accident shall we call it. If you haven't notice I'm bone dry. I think your forgetting that elementleist's don't specialise in just one element, they cover nearly all of them." He allowed for Aleria to gather her things outside the auditorium.

"Now!" He said rather excitingly. "Where would you like to go first? The laundry room perhaps?" He said jokingly. "No? Okay you tell me where you would like to go then, or what you would like to know?"

He stood against the wall looking at the her, almost in a strange way, he turned and looked at the ceiling instead.

She only gave him a glare when he started cracking jokes. "How about you dry me off then? Since you're such a great elementalist..." She muttered, but quickly changed her mind. "Actually... never mind. You might set me on fire or something."

She gathered her wet things and walked over to the secretary. She left her things with the lady behind the counter where they would be teleported up to her room. Magic was so useful sometimes.

"Your room is on the top floor, room 505." The lady smiled at her and Aleria took the slip of paper so that she wouldn't forget.

She walked back to TJ and looked around when he asked her where she wanted to go. "Surprise me." She replied simply.There was too much to see and she couldn't decide what she wanted to see first. She was stuck with this guy no matter what, so she might as well make use of him. Though, she wouldn't mind going to the laundry room to dry her clothes, but she had nothing else that was dry to change into so she tossed the thought away.

"Surprise you, eh? Hmmm"

TJ thought about where to take here.

"The Canteen? No you can find that at lunch time. The Boarding floors? You'll be going there later. The Admin Office First, then the grounds, followed by, recreational places, that should take us up to lunch." TJ started walking off down the corridor. Well come on then or are you just going to stand there like a wally? Then I think the class rooms, because we wouldn't want you getting lost now would we cupcake? Lessons are very important here, you have to keep up on your work, practice, which we all know that you could use don't we? and report at the end of each term with an exam. If you fail the exam, you have to start the term again. But don't worry there's time to relax as well. There isn't really a schedule about time's other then morning lessons are from 8 until 11 then lunch is from 11 till 1 afternoon lessons are from 1 till 5 and then if you have signed up for any after school activity's they are from 5 till 7. Then as long as you are on your lodging floor from after 9 and nowhere else the teachers don't really care, boys dorms are on floor 4 and girls are on 5, oh, and you'll be sharing a room with one or two other people but the rooms are big enough don't worry."

TJ thought about what else he could tell her.

"Oh yes I almost forgot there are some shops on site as well for small things like sweets, food, drinks, whatever you can think of really. Oh and be careful because there arn't people on site as charming as I am, okay? You have any problems you come and find me alright."

They made there way over to the admin office.

"Oh and one last thing if you do want me to dry you off, which we both know you would like, all you have to do is ask! Now! Off we go!"

Aleria felt herself get a little dizzy trying to make a mental note of everything he was saying. As she listened, she actually realized he wasn't that bad of a person... besides the fact that he was constantly teasing her. She didn't know how much longer she could put up with that.

The school seemed like a nice place. It had practically everything she could ever need. The only part that turned her off was having to share a dorm room with one or two other people. She didn't like being near others. "There's no way I could get a room... by myself?" She asked TJ.

She followed closely behind him as he led her to the admin office, but when he stopped all of sudden, she bumped her head off his back. "Oww..." she rubbed her head and listened to what he forgot to tell her. She continued to follow him, not really wanting to ask him for help because of her pride, but if she didn't, she'd be stuck shivering all day and she definitely did not want to catch a cold later. "Okay... well then... could you... dry me off then?" She forced herself to say the dreaded words.

In-between his long passages of information TJ listened to the girl to see if she had any thing to say. A room, to yourself? Ha! Don't make me laugh! Have you seen the number of students that we have here? You'll be lucky with just one person to share with! I just happen to be one of those lucky folk, I share with Shane, he's a nice lad, so in answer to your question, there's no way that you'll have your own room, to put it simply but it's not that bad! I'm sure that your roommate will be a dear!

They continued down the corridor and TJ stopped suddenly. He felt Aleria bump into him. But didn't say anything about it.

"Something or should I say someone is missing." TJ whistled a few notes and continued down the corridor with Aleria in tow. They reached the Admin office and TJ poked his head through the door.

"Miss Hazel, uh, hi. Could I have the timetable for a one Aleria Lexington. Yes that's her. You'll send it to her room? Thank you. Good Bye Miss Hazel."

TJ turned around and looked at Aleria.

"So you do want to be dried? Okay then, now I haven't done this for a while, so I'm a little rusty, so there is the chance that I could set you on fire. I'm joking by the way. I mean look at me now after what you did to me. Okay then! A one, a two, and a three!"

TJ made a slow swirling motion with one hand and faced his palm towards Aleria, A tunnel of warm descended around her, she looked around franticly but could only wait until it was over. TJ slowly closed his palm to warm the air further and then suddenly sliced his other hand down. The air dissipated immediately and everything returned to normal.

"TJ is that you making a racket out there!" Miss Hazel shouted from the office.

"Go, Go, Go" They both hurried of down to the entrance hall. When they arrived TJ spoke to Aleria again.

"So how are you feeling now?

She sighed when he made it clear that she wasn't going to be getting a room to herself. Guess she'd have to put up with whatever the other girl -- or girls -- did. As long as she didn't get too close to them, she'd be fine.

They arrived at the admin office and TJ had poked his head into the room, saying something about a timetable. She didn't get to hear whatever this "Miss Hazel" was saying, but she shrugged. TJ seemed to be sorting it all out pretty well. He turned out to be pretty useful after all. She wondered if he was popular here. He seemed to know a lot of people.

She felt her stomach do a flip when he mentioned the possibility of her catching on fire, but she frowned after he'd said the all too familiar words of "I'm joking." She looked at him with a look that said "Just get on with it" and he finally started doing some weird motions with his hand. She felt the air around her suddenly become warmer and she couldn't help but be a little scared. She felt like she was trapped in a tunnel of warmth, but soon after, it disappeared. She looked down at her clothes and they were completely dry, as if she had never even gotten soaked in the first place.

Suddenly, Miss Hazel shouted at them from the office and TJ quickly motioned for them to run. She didn't know why they were running, since it didn't seem like that big of a deal, but she ran anyway, not wanting to get into trouble on her first day.

When they came to a stop, she sighed out in relief. "Thanks, that feels much better." She quickly said after, "So... where to now? The school grounds?" She tried to remember what he had said to her earlier when he had bombarded her with a bunch of facts at once.

TJ smiled knowing that there was a chance he had gotten on to Aleria's good side after nearly drowning her this morning.

"Right, to the grounds, it's a lovely day today, so we might as well spend a little longer outside while it lasts. You see the weather here is nice for about a week or so, then it sort of goes down hill, but in the winter it always snows so that's always nice!"

TJ led Aleria out side to the entrance courtyard where they were earlier. The fountain was now spewing a pinkish water rather then the azure colour that is normaly seen.

"Oh look we've been in session for an hour and already the fountain is a different colour! Typical, next it'll be the, oh look! Blue! The trees are blue, I'm sure you remember that they should be pink and white. Last year they were green. Next year I'm going to bet red, what do you think?"

They continued walking around the grounds for a while.

"And over there is the botanical gardens, but I would be careful, god knows what sort of plants are in there. I'm not into plants really, they look pretty and that's about it, Ooh if you have a look over there you can just see the pigeon houses, the pigeon is the school's animal. Not the best I know but we're in the process of getting doves so they should be here, sometime."

As they approached the back of the grounds TJ saw a familier face.

"Oh boy, here we go in, 3, 2, 1 and."

"Hey TJ!"

"Oh Brilliant"

TJ suddenly became very serious and looked at Aleria.

"Aleria I suggest you don't say anything, okay. For all I know this might get a little out of hand."

TJ turned to look at the boy approaching them.

Aleria was disappointed when she'd heard that there was hardly ever any nice weather. She was an expert at controlling nature, but the weather was just a topic to broad for her to handle. It was almost impossible to control the weather, with the exception of powerful wizards and... well... Mother Nature.

When she stepped into the courtyard, she tilted her head a little when she saw the pink water and blue trees. Hadn't they been a different colour earlier? She nodded in understanding when TJ explained to her after he'd seen her confused face. She didn't answer his question and continued to stare at the trees, appreciating the spectacular view.

She felt her spirits lift when he talked about the botanical gardens. She loved plants, herbs, and basically anything to do with nature. Her adoptive family had taught her everything she knew about medicine and herbs. Her face fell at the thought of them and she felt her happiness slowly drift away. Here she was, enjoying this beautiful school and even finding herself having... fun... while her family had suffered a tragic death. How could she even consider enjoying even a second here?

She found herself drifting off in deep thought until she sensed TJ become tense and warn her about something. She looked up and saw a boy approach them. She looked back at TJ who had become deathly serious, something she wasn't familiar with after seeing only his playful and easygoing nature. She wondered what was going on in that head of his.

TJ moved in front of Aleria slightly as though he were protecting her. The boy moved up to TJ in an invading way, getting a little too close than what is considered comfortable.

"So, TJ. Who's ya little friend 'ere? She ya girlfriend? You was talking about getting a girlfriend, wasn't ya?"

"What do you want Austin? You and I know perfectly about today's arrangements. I'm being a guide to freshmen students? Now I don't know if you and your little cronies have noticed today's the first day of the new year, and I for one want it to go smoothly."

"Aw TJ, being tough infront of your friend, tryin to show 'er who's boss? Come 'ere sweetheart 'ee's not worthy of you, let Austin here show you the ropes."

"You lay a finger on her and you'll regret it."

"Oh put a sock in it pretty boy"

Austin did a motion with his hand and place his palm onto TJ. TJ was then knocked back a couple of feet onto the hard cobblestone pathway. TJ got up achingly and brushed him self off. He turned towards Austin and prepared himself.

"Okay, too far." He saw Austin reaching out for Aleria in an attempt to grab her. "Oh no you don't!" TJ did a quick twirl and pointed at Austin, a thin bolt of electricity conjured from TJ finger and zapped Austin's hand.

"Oww, you little shit. You're goin to regret that!" Austin raised his hand and moved it sideways picking up large pieces of stone and rock and flung it towards TJ.

"Aleria! Get out of the way. NOW!" TJ brought his hands to his right side and then extended his left arm fully and a jet of pure red fire erupted from his hand heading towards the rocks and more importantly Austin. The fire tore through the rocks and then split bending around Austin in a half case fashion. TJ stopped the attack and looked towards Austin who looked as pale as a ghost.

"You forgot I could do that! Let that be a reminder to you, and don't you ever go near Ale-AH!" TJ clutched his hand in pain. He looked to wards Austin who took of down the pathway and out of site. TJ walked over to Aleria still clutching his hand.

"I'm sorry you had to see that. Really I was hoping that you never would. It's not the best impression to be setting. I'm sorry. But I think I could do with a sit down..."

TJ found a near by bench and sat down, Aleria sat next to him not breaking eye contact with his hands.

Aleria instantly became on her guard when the boy, Austin as TJ had called him, approached them. The boy started making snide remarks and taunting TJ which seemed to get on his nerves. "Hey! I'm not his girlfriend!" Aleria blurted out, glaring at him. Whoever he was, he was getting on her nerves as well.

Suddenly, he attacked TJ with some sort of unnatural force and he flew back, leaving her vulnerable to whatever else this guy had in mind. "Don't... touch me." She warned him, tensing up. He obviously hadn't heard her, or didn't give a second thought about it because he made an attempt to grab her anyways. She closed her eyes, gathering up her energy, but she stopped and opened up her eyes when TJ zapped him. He's lucky... this time. She thought to herself, glad that she didn't have to use her powers. She didn't like having people know what kind of magic she used, or how strong of a person she was. Being too close to someone would only slow her down.

She ducked when TJ yelled at her to move, and she saw him release an amazing amount of fire from his hand. It headed straight for Austin, but as if teasing him, it split in the center and died off. The coward then sprinted off and she breathed out in relief. Judging from TJ's expression, he had hurt his hand in the process and they sat on a nearby bench.

"That guy was a creep." She muttered, taking his hand. "Here, let me see that." She moved her other hand towards the surface of his, but hesitated before she let her hand drop back down. The same thoughts played through her head. Don't get too close. You'll only get hurt. It'll only slow you down. She shook the thoughts out of her head. "You should get that checked. Let's head to the infirmary." She looked around. She had no idea where that was and his hand was getting worse. "Wait." She tore off a long strip of fabric from her dress and wrapped it tightly around his hand.

TJ winced as Aleria inspected his hand, she moved it a bit to violently for his liking. He watched her tear her dress to make use as a makeshift bandage and wrapped the piece of what was once her dress to his burnt hand.

"Hey you know, ah, that you didn't need to, ah, do thaaAAt!" TJ bit his tongue to stop himself from shouting. Aleria continued to wrap the cloth around his hand and then tied a bow to keep it in place.

"Thanks, oh there's someone I would like you to meet." TJ whisled a few notes and a Dragonfly flew down and landed on TJ lap.

"His name is Enzo. You know, after the car designer? I have a thing for cars, I have a few models in my room actually but I can't show you for obvious reasons. I named him Enzo because all Ferrari's are red, well they should be, and seeing as though he's red, I just saw the link there. I know it's not interesting but it's taking my mind of my burning hand."

TJ got up and started walking down the pathway.

"I think your right. We should go to the infirmary, I'm sorry that you had to see that and my hand but I guess my duty to protect you came above my own safety. Once you'r in uniform I'll have Jasmine have a look at you dress. She might be able to make it look as though it hasn't been through a rose bush!" Enzo landed on Aleria's shoulder and then walked down her arm and onto her hand before flying ahead of them.

"Haha, someone likes you! Oh, here's a door inside."

They walked into the cool inside of the school which was still surprisingly full of people. They made there way to the second floor and found their way to the Infirmary.

"I might be a while getting this looked at so if you want you can head up to your room and get changed if you like. You might as well because you might get funny looks with the state of you dress and all. It's room 505 remember. I'll come up to your room if I can leave early if not we can meet here. Just walk to the end of the hallway and there will be a staircase just head straight to the top! I'll catch you later!"

TJ walked into the Infirmary to have his hand looked at and left Aleria out in the hallway. He felt bad for just leaving her out there on her own. He was worried that what happend earlier may happen again and he would kick him self if it did.

"Wait. Am I? No, i can't be getting feelings for her. She's been here 2 hours. I must be imagining things. But what if I'm not.

Aleria watched as the little red dragonfly made its way onto her shoulder. She had to admit, it was kind of cute. When they got inside the building, TJ left to the infirmary after reminding her about her room. She watched as he walked away, making sure that he was out of sight before she quickly mended her dress. She hovered her hand over the ripped part of the dress and in seconds, it was replaced with fabric, as if it had never ripped. Not many people knew she could conjure things from thin air, and she wanted to keep it that way. The less people knew about her, the better.

She made her way up the stairs to the elevators, but something was odd. They didn't look like elevators, more like a portal. It was glowing a bright blue and she could see the air wavering in between. She shrugged, stepping through it. Instantly, she felt all the parts of her body shift and start to go numb. It was a weird feeling, as if she were weightless and being pulled like an elastic by some large, invisible hands. In seconds, she appeared on a floor. That was cool. She thought, feeling the corners of her lips tug into a small grin.

She then made her way towards her room, following all the numbers on the other doors. 500, 501, 502, 503, 504... 505. She stopped in front of the door, bracing herself for whatever was on the other side. Hopefully she didn't have annoying, shrieking girl as a roommate. She shivered at the thought. Sticking her key into the lock, she turned the doorknob slowly and peeked inside. There was no one in the room.

She breathed out in relief and felt her muscles relax as she walked fully into the room. Guess she's not here... or better... maybe she dropped out and I get a room to myself. She found her things waiting near the door and quickly brought them over to the bed closest to the window. She was definitely claiming the window-side bed. She moved over to the window frame and glanced outside. It was a beautiful view of the courtyard and she saw that the fountain was still spitting out a pink substance. She noticed that there was even a balcony. The view was outstanding from this floor level.

"Hi there!" an energetic voice exclaimed from behind her, causing her to jump almost halfway to the ceiling. Aleria whipped around, seeing a blonde girl clad in a pink summer dress and perfect curls in her hair. The girl was very pretty, but maybe it was because of the make-up she wore that played up her features. "You must be my new roommate! My name's Lucia, nice to meet you!" the girl smiled brightly at her, her eyes twinkling. Aleria could only stare, not sure whether she should be shocked or horrified. She had a roommate after all, and worst, she was exactly what she hadn't wanted in a roommate: a perky, squeal-y girl.

Ms Crookshanks, the school nurse examined TJ's hand, tutting as she looked. She spoke with a soft Scottish accent.

"Oh TJ look at you, It's been 2 hours and your already here. You need to control yourself, hmm? Now the burns aren't that bad, but you'll have to have a bandage over your wounds for a few days so that the skin is strong enough to perform on, I also suggest that you wait until you have your degree in elemental control before you try such, viscous spells. Now do I make my self clear.

TJ nodded.

"A few days? How will I be able to practise? and anyway my area is Illusion not Elemental, so I can perform them just fine. It was just too hot for too long, I've learnt not to do it again unless it's absolutely necessary, now can I go? I have things that need to be done."

The nurse handed him a note saying why he was at the office, and allowed him to leave with out another word being said. He headed to the reception desk and spoke to the woman on the desk.

"Hi, could you send a message to room 505. Thanks, could you tell Aleria Lexington to meet me here in the reception hall, at 12:30. Thank you." TJ left to go up to his room he walked to the end of the corridor and passed though one of the portals with out thinking, he arrived on the 4th floor to realise that someone had let loose a spell of vines along the corridor coving the floors and walls. You would think that the building was abandoned he made his way to his room and went inside, he flopped on to his bed and could hear something above him, it was a sort of clicking noise he looked behind him and noticed the biggest spider he had ever seen. TJ screemed and launched off of his bed.

"Shane! Shane! You complete arse! Get rid of this or will freeze it solid! Shane!"

Shane entered the room laughing from his practical joke. Shane was the same height as TJ but had short sandy blonde hair and green eyes. They were good friends and always playing jokes on one another, some funnier than others though. Shane was wearing the same uniform as TJ but it was a little bit scruffier than how TJ was wearing it. He had his tie a little bit looser and had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his shirt was also un-tucked. It was almost as though they were polar opposites of each other which was why they got on so well.

"Oh man, you should have heard yourself just now. The look on your face right now is priceless!"

He kept laughing and got rid of the spider, until he noticed TJ's hand.

"Dude, what happened to your hand? You cut it or something?"

TJ put his injured hand in his pocket and simply replied with a "It's nothing" he turned to Shane and shot a bit of ice cold water into his face.

"Gaahh Jesus!"

"Hahaha!"

Aleria jumped at the chance to pick up the phone as it rang. She'd desperately wanted to escape Lucia's never-ending one-sided conversation on the latest fashions or who the most popular kid on campus was. "Hello?" she spoke into the phone."

"Hi, Miss Lexington? I have a message from TJ Penwarden. He says to meet him at the reception hall at 12:30."

"Oh, okay. Thanks, goodbye," she put the phone down and glanced at the translucent, glowing clock on the wall. It was already a little past noon. She turned to Lucia. "Sorry, I've gotta go meet with my tour guide," she said blandly.

"Oh! Right! Me too!" Lucia piped up, "unfortunately, I got a girl as a tour guide. I was hoping that'd he'd be a hot guy who'd sweep me up in his arms and take me around campus!" she clasped her hands together and spun around, looking as if she was in a daydream.

"Uh... well... that's too bad, I think?" Aleria was getting kind of freaked out. This girl was boy-crazy. "Well, anyways. I guess I'll... see you later," she forced that last three words out and quickly walked out of the room. Phew... she took a deep breath of relief and walked through the portal to the main lobby. When she'd gotten out, she shivered. She was never going to get used to that feeling. At least now she knew what it felt like to be a rubber band.

She walked down to the bottom of the steps and sat down, waiting for TJ to show up. She was a little early, but she'd wanted to get out of the room quickly to spare her the dread of listening to Lucia's continuous gossip. To be honest... Lucia kind of reminded her of her own sister; the one from her mortal world family. Back then, she'd been the only one who cared for Aleria when they'd all found out that she was different from all of them, a freak. She'd been the only one who thought it was cool and was the only one who cried when they'd abandoned her at the orphanage. Aleria's heart ached when she thought of her sister. The last time she'd seen her was when her parents had told them that they were taking Aleria to the dentist and that her sister had to stay at home. Yeah, right... the dentist...

TJ left his room at about twenty past twelve so that he would be early for Aleria, he told Shane where he would be if he needed him, not that he would but just in-case. When he stepped out the floor still looked like a jungle but now there were flowers everywhere.

"Hmph, these better be gone by evening." He walked down the corridor towards the portal, as he walked down he thought about Aleria she seemed confident but lonely at the same time.

"It must be a huge change going from staying with your family then being dumped here not to be seen for months. I hope she's feeling okay, I'll ask her or, maybe i shouldn't, cus then it might seem i'm coming onto her, then she'll think i'm some sort of weirdo..." He walked through the portal and ended up on the ground floor where he wanted. He took less then 5 paces when.

"Hey TJ! I hope you still haven't forgotten that I'm still here!"

"Oh god, this is what I really don... Hi Nina!" Nina was TJ's ex-girlfriend but still had feelings for him despite the fact she dumped him in front of a crowd of 20 people or so. She was pretty but she could be a little crazy when her imagination get's the best of her, she was slightly shorter than TJ and had long brown hair that ended about halfway down her back.

"So TJ, did you miss me over the summer break? I bet you did cus I know that your crazy for me!!"

"Actually Nina, you didn't cross my mind once. We had something and now it's gone. If you remember you dumped me in front of a crowd of people. We were the laughing stock for a week!"

Nina looked hurt from TJ comments, she had tears welling in her eyes. Her cheeks started to fush and she shouted.

"Thomas Jackson Penwarden! You are the biggest asshole in the whole school you know that! The day we broke up was the most horrible day of my life! You broke my heart into pieces! PIECES! I can't belive for one moment that you can go on the way you do!"

"Nina! Shut. Up. Don't you have class to go to?" He turned to go and meet Aleria but Nina grabbed his sleeve.

"Oh TJ, I'm sorry, I didn't mean any of that! I'm sorry, okay?" TJ shrugged her of his shoulder and walked off down the hall towards the entrance.

"TJ! I'm sorry!" Nina screamed down the hall on her knees, a few people looked down towards her in worry as though she had lost her mind completely. He had a look around the hall and saw Aleria sitting on the steps deep in thought. He wondered if he should wake her from her daze.

"She looks quite cu- TJ what are you thinking!" He walked over to Aleria and stood infront of her vision, she broke thought and looked up at him.

"So how's it going, do you like your room? What's your room-mate or room-mates like? He looked down at her dress and noticed that it was fixed as though she had never ripped it.

"How is tha- no she can't be? There haven't been records of casters like that for decades. She must have two of the same dress. Yeah girls are like that, they have about a hundred dress all looking near enough the same." He brought his attention to Aleria again.

"Now I don't know about you, but I'm starving! Wanna go grab some lunch?"

Aleria thought she'd heard some girl screaming in desperation, but she was too busy in thought to pay any attention to it. She looked up when someone walked in front of her, blocking her view. "Oh, you're here." She got up from the step and brushed the dirt off her dress. "The room's great. It's beautiful and spacious, just like you said. My room mate on the other hand... she's um... she's alright, I guess... if you're one for pointless gossip and constant giggling, which I'm not," Aleria sighed, "but I guess it could be worse."

She saw him glance at where the rip had been in her dress and she quickly moved it behind her with her hands so that it was out of view. If he noticed, he didn't say anything so she didn't say anything about it either. "I'm fine... I'm not that hungry." Her stomach didn't seem to agree with her though, because it rumbled loudly in protest. She looked down at it and back at TJ. "Well... okay. What's there to eat around here anyways?" She followed him to the cafeteria and glanced around at all the different stands. Some were selling foods she'd never even heard of before. She made a face at one of the signs that said 'deep fried frog legs'. They sure had some strange food in the magic world... She wasn't quite sure what she felt like eating. Maybe she'd just follow TJ and see what he wanted to get.

TJ looked at Aleria while he listened to what she was saying he could hear the sound of heals on the tiled floor.

"Oh god... It's good to hear that you like your room, do you have a nice view. I'm sorry that you didn't have your luck on the room-mate issue but from what I hear it could be worse, she could have be a psychopathic devil spawn of a child with a tendency to burn things! No? Okay So-"

"TJ~! TJ! Wait!" Nina was running down the hall towards TJ and Aleria.

"Jesus, Nina this isn't the ti-"

"Who's this? Wait let me guess, is she your girlfriend? NO, how dare you!" She went and slapped TJ across the face before bursting into tears and running to where she came from. TJ rubbed his now tender cheek.

"Well that was uh odd, I'll explain later judging by the look on your face now with what you just said your stomach just disagreed, come on, lets go to the canteen, they have a variety of "delicacies" that you can have. I'm thinking Ramen today. I don't know about you though! They walked towards the dining area towards the back of the building. When they entered the hall they were hit by sights and smells of all kinds, spices and sweets where everywhere covering every possible culture across the globe.

"Impressive, huh? Go on have a look around, don't worry about the price. It's covered in your joining fee." TJ went over too a noodle stand to get his lunch leaving Aleria in wonder as she stood in the hall.
