When You Are Lost

There are legends that sometimes when you feel lost or when you so dread moving forward you'd rather die that sometimes you find your way to a magical garden and it's sacred shrine. The garden is very real, a piece of a forgotten kingdom. It is the last threshold of it's magic and far less gentle then the lore suggests. The legends come, after all, from those who successfully escaped the garden by finding themselves and resolving the struggle with in them to find their true path.

Some, however, are not so lucky and as they find themselves trapped with eternal youth they become infected with magic. The darkness in their hearts then corrupt the magic until their forms become twisted and monstrous as do their minds. They become consumed by their darkness and seek light as they try to escape the trap of their own heart. They seek to replace them with the hearts of the living who are dropped into the garden, vainly seeking the light in their hearts to try and escape their eternal pain.

At the center of the garden 'city' is the one safe place from these vile creatures. It is a beautiful shrine surrounded by cherry trees and wild roses. It appears well cared for and from the branches of trees hang the fortunes for those who have visited or will visit. Around the shrine are buildings that were close enough to the holy shrine to be protected and seem to hold an inn along with all the other provisions one may need as long as one has the knowledge to use them such as a blacksmiths. These buildings seem to shift, leaving bits and pieces for people to find so they have all the tools they need to find themselves in this place where time is frozen. Will you find what you lost in this place or live in this magical place until after hundreds of years your own darkness consumes you?

Rules

1. All characters must have a weakness.

2. You must use three or more sentences per post.

3. To Join just pm me a profile form and post! You don't need to wait for my response, everyone is automatically accepted. The 'profile' or appearance form really, is just so everyone knows who is playing who and what all the characters look like for benefit of their interaction ability. Even the race is just for the magical who sense it to be able to think 'omg that's a vampire, I totally don't like those' or what ever suits them and develop their character.

4. I will pepper clues about the shrine at random and prefer they be kept to my posts unless it is to do with your character and why they are there but that doesn't mean you can't help me with everything! Feel free to pm ideas to me or just pm me to discuss the way things are going and your thoughts. It's only being kept in my posts so that nobody gets mixed up, not because I've decided everything and don't want your help!

~HappyDeath's Characters~

Experimental Phoenix/Elven.

He appears to be around his 20s.
Height:
6'2
Profession:
Former chef and now wanders around as a simple traveler and potion maker.
Personality:
Yukito is a strange fellow, he is usually known for his silence towards everyone. He rarely ever becomes enraged about anything, whenever he is silent for more then several minutes passing by he will end up speaking to himself about different combinations of potions that he wanted to mix together. From time to time though, he will become rather cold-hearted to those around him by mere accident due to his memories returning to him but he normally treats people that way if he is spoken to when he has began to receive those memories again.
Eye Description/Color:
His right eye is a turquoise with a slight hint of a sky-blue within them. While his left eye is a deep redish orange color that can almost be resembled as flames. His left eye is normally shut closed and wrapped in several white bandages that covers up part of the left side of his head.
Hair Description/Color:
A faded blond which is normally difficult to notice to anyone as many people who have ever met him has considered him with simply white hair. Skin tone/Color:
Pale but with a slight bit of color as a peach.
Scars/Tattoos:
He has multiple slash-like marks all over his chest area and his back that looks as though he had been hit with whips but as well been attacked by blades. On the middle of his back as well as on his chest is a large scar that looks as though someone had blasted a large hole in his back and it had went straight through the other side only to have it covered up with his the healing of his own skin now. All over his arms are just the same slash-like markings all over him.

Clothing Style:
He tends to wear only long sleeve clothing to hide his scars. Most of the time he is found wearing a large old torn up brownish black rag as a cloak as it reaches to the floor to hide both of his own feet as well. He tends to have it covering his head and most of his face as well. When it is taken off, he is found wearing a green long sleeve shirt and pants. Around the arms of his sleeves it seems to look almost as though there are several different belts someone had to unlock to actually get to his actual sleeve then be able to pull them up and see his true arms.

The Shrine and the Stillness

The dark creatures lingered, avoiding the other bright light that was a glowing orb at the top of the shrine. The orb was second only to the moon, and the wind was still as the deep navy clouds shifted lazily across the sky. It seemed so peaceful as it always did when empty. Still, it was that time... That time every ten years when it gathered new souls to attempt to be their light perhaps to lift it's own curse and finally release the weak souls who had been unable to grow.

It's golden bell began to ring and that golden light atop the shrine began to spin. As it spun the wind would pick up and stir at those clouds that always threatened rain. The twisted began to raise their tainted heads and howl like wolves as the could sense what was coming. Would there be hearts to steal? To replace the mind numbing pain of their own?

Corrina had been walking within the cave she had hid in and pacing back and forth. She could feel the moon rising and it drove the young new therian half crazed as she pulled at her own multi-color hair. She felt a howl rip from her throat and the whisper of feathers against her cheek just as had happened a moon before. Still, the sensation of shifting and skin tearing did not come. Instead she felt a strange cold chill settle over her. A flash of light filled the cave and Rina was falling, falling through empty air as she tumbled to the ground.

She raised her head and reached out to touch the familiar bird that now settled in front of her with a soft call. She wasnt' alone... Astori was with her. Her blurry eye could see next to nothing but vague shapes, like shadowy monsters at the edge of her vision, but her touch was still strong. She would always know those feathers that had still touched her cheek even as others fled from her touch... or her claws that she herself had not yet learned to truly control.

“The moon... I feel it's light but not the beasts sway...” she whispered softly in a form of elvish from beneath the sea like waves of her hair. The hawk mean while was flying in a circle above her to take in all the scenery so it could later relay the images to her, the one it followed. As it did so she pushed herself slowly to her feet and put a hand over her heart, only to let out a soft sound of pain. She could feel a sudden rustle of her inner beast, a soft whisper from her that she was in danger. She needed to run....

Without a thought she began running towards the light of the shrine, the gold pulling at her senses even as she did not know why. As she ran she began to hear the crunch of leaves and picked up on that which escaped even her elven senses but not the beasts. Why was easy to tell... those things were like her beast, always hungry and always seeking. That kinship allowed the beast to sense it in a way that physical senses never could and so she ran.

When she finally hit the stairs of the inn her hawk could not quite get the images to her in time and she fell to once again be covered by her hair. She shivered and turned that half blind silver eye up towards the top of the shrine, taking in a breath as she pushed away the slight pain from the bruise on her leg. She felt her hawk pull a bit of hair from her face and she turned her senses to the shrine she had landed on. It was a holy place, she could feel it. Still, there was something slightly twisted in the energy and it seemed to be so old that it made even that which the elves had built feel young. Where was she? What was this place?

Staring up at the moon, Tsuki sat atop a mountain, where she felt closest to the spirits of her ancestors. The young woman's face was far from peaceful as she gazed at the silvery orb which her own eyes so resembled. Her ancestors, once again, did not answer her call. With a sigh, the girl who's name meant moonlight closed her eyes, and in that moment felt as though she were falling. Being so high up, the sensation terrified her, but before she had time to scream, she landed with a thud.

Without a sound, Tsuki stood and brushed herself off. Her cape fell protectively around her, but she did not feel safe. Looking around, she lifted the eye patch from her right eye, revealing the irregularity beneath. The emerald star in her eye flashed, and, with a nod, she placed the eye patch back where it belonged. There was no doubt now, about the twisted creatures surrounding her. Forgetting her despair for a moment, Tsuki turned and fled.

She followed a golden light in the sky, with no reason for doing so besides that it seemed to draw her forward. It did not take her long to reach what looked like a shrine. Looking behind her, she could no longer tell weather the creatures still followed, but natural instinct drove her towards it anyway. Stepping into the small space, she drew her cape about herself and raised it's hood, concealing her whole body. She looked about to see if there were any people, though the place felt deserted. To her surprise, there was another woman there, looking just as confused and disheveled as she herself felt.

Orion stared at the sky, staring at the stars. Staring at the constellation that was named after him. He often stared up at the heavens on cloudless nights, even if it wasn't the right time for his constellation to be seen, he stared at the spot where it would be. At least they had not cast his stars from the heavens, but he wasn't sure if that was a reassurance he could one day return or if they were just mocking him. The Archons were not known to be unnecessarily cruel, so perhaps there was no mocking intent.

The great hunter gripped his bow tightly in his left hand. He had no quiver, but he didn't need it. His arrows were conjured by pure will, the stronger the will the stronger the arrow. Maybe a little stardust was involved as well, but that only made the conjured arrow more tangible, so it could actually be useful. Orion reluctantly brought his eyes from the sky, looking once at his surroundings. A dense forest, perfect for hunting in, even at night. Rain or darkness, Orion was a great hunter and whatever he set his sights on he usually got.

There was nothing to hunt this night. He had lost his passion for it, trapped too long in this earthly realm. He had lost his way in the heavens, how did they expect him to find his way in this realm? Orion's heart yearned for the forest of stars, for the celestial beasts he had hunted. Would he never see that forest again? Those eyes turned towards the stars again, and his lips parted to shout at them. The words died in his throat, a soft light formed over his head and extended around him.

Trapping him in what seemed to be a bubble made of light, but it wasn't bright or harsh, it didn't render his eyes useless as most unexpected bright lights would. Then he simply was not in that forest anymore. Orion and his bubble of light just vanished. To reappear somewhere else, the light around him fading and when he looked up at the stars, the position was completely off. A shiver ran down his spine, and he gripped his bow tighter. Beasts were coming, as if alerted to his presence as soon as he had appeared, he could sense them, the way a hunter sense quarry before it sees it, or the way the quarry senses the predator before it strikes.

These beasts were hunting him. An arrow appeared in his hand, then disappeared as he suddenly started running. No time to shoot the nearest one, the nearest one was already too close. It pounced down where Orion had been standing, for once the great hunter fled a beast. Something tugged at him, tugged at his will, ushered him to run and in which direction. When he looked up he saw what was propelling him forward, a light that didn't hurt him to look upon it.

It seemed to lead him to a building, two others were there by the steps or on the steps, and more beasts. As if they had followed the other two. Agile and amazing, Orion maneuvered past the creatures that would destroy him and into the protected area, coming to a halt only at the top of the stairs of the building he turned to look out at the monsters that had chased him. He expected at any moment one of them or all of them to leap at him and the two others that lingered there but it seemed the beasts could not venture any closer to this building.

Rina had been gazing upwards, her senses spread to feel for some origin of the magic. It was nothing she recognized and older than anything she felt. It was nothing from her wooded home, nothing even like it. She frowned slightly and didn't bother to stand until she heard something running. She stood quickly and held out her hand. Her delicate silver bracelet flashed slightly and a staff formed in her hand. It was an ornate and beautiful thing that appeared to be made of some enchanted silver colored metal as well as many gem stones with delicate vines decorating it. Still, there was a bladed point at it's top and there was a feeling of magical power emanated from it.

"Who is there?" She asked in her gruff, rather growling voice that seemed like it should not belong to such an elven maid. It was always that way now... the former songbird's vocal cords had never been able to heal. As she spoke her hawk landed on her shoulder and nuzzled her forehead so it could relay various images including that of the woman before it. The half blind Rina nodded and sat her staff at her side so the point was touching the floor in a slightly peaceful gesture to show she meant no harm. She tried to offer the woman a shy smile, or at least the woman's general direction.

"Do... you know...where this is?" She asked carefully, her voice quieter now as her fear left her for the most part. She touched her throat slightly, it's scars hidden by her scarf, as if to check it a moment. She gripped the staff slightly tighter and felt a little uncertain. What should she say to this person? It was so hard to speak... it hurt a little... and what if this woman brought her here? Could she trust her?

As she thought this her hawk let out a soft cry to announce the presence of another. It peered up at the celestial and easily communicated with the elf just what it could see. She nodded and shivered, she could feel the presence of both creatures and it was rather stifling. Still briefly she instinctively turned her head so that her blind eye was pinned in the general location of the man as she stood at the end of the stairs. She could not really see anything but the inky darkness of night. Still, at least she could sense him. Had he brought them here? Or where they all just lost in some magical strange place?

Tsuki startled when the other woman spoke to her. Firstly because the voice was not as she expected, and second because the questions puzzled her. "I am no one of consequence. And I am afraid I do not know where we are." She said. Her voice carried the accent of someone from the east, probably Japan. She noted that the woman, like herself, wore an eyepatch, and that she seemed to be silently communicating with the bird on her shoulder. Before she could comment further, yet another being arrived, this time male. Tsuki instantly recognized him as a Celestial, mainly because she had been trained to sense the presence of otherworldly beings. It seemed they had all been drawn to this place, to this shrine, but for what reason she could not discern. She drew her cape closer around her, fearful of revealing her scars. "And then there were three..." She said.

Orion did not like this place. A frown was set into his features and he glanced towards the sky, to check the stars again. The stars were ever familiar to him, but their position was wrong. Completely off, he had no idea where he was or how to navigate away using the sky as a compass. His gaze dropped from the sky, to look off in the direction he had come from, his heart beat fiercely in his chest and he was tempted to loose an arrow in the direction of the beasts that had chased him. He was a hunter, not a hunted. Never before had he run from any creature, all could be hunted, but this place seemed so off, and these beast seemed so different. It was like no place the Celestial had ever seen before, and those beasts were like none he had ever met.

The bird he noted absently, a familiar perhaps, or something similar. "I am Orion, the Great Hunter." His hand gripped his bow tightly for a moment as he introduced himself to the females, then he slung that bow over his shoulder and across his back. "I do not like this place." The notion that one of these females, or both, had brought him here didn't sit right with Orion. His instincts told him it had not been these girls, and he trusted his instincts. He glanced around again, then at the building they stood on the steps of.

"My name is... Corrina. Hmm... Lady No....one... 'Bit long, Is there another name I may call you?" She responded slowly to the other woman, only the slight smile as she finished revealing the slight joke of her words. The destruction of her voice had taken away the lilting, musical quality that had once lingered in her voice when she teased. She had decided neither had sent her here, they were too confused. Still, she was sure there was some reason they were here. She just wasn't sure what it was... still, the male had spoken as well so her mind was momentarily turned to him.

"Orion.... No, No one does I don't think.... but we should find shelter. It looks... rain." She said softly, her voice growing more horse until the end. She gasped out 'rain' rather then saying 'it will' and shortly she was coughing. She held her throat a moment as she was lost in the fit. Her bird flapped it's wings slightly to keep balance and for a moment she reached into her bag hurridly. She took a drink of the flask she pulled from her pocket, the herbs of her people would stop it.

As she started to put it away she realized that something was off. It still felt full. She glanced in the flask and found it had replenished itself... It was a blessing of course, that her medicine was despite not being exposed to clean water as the magic usually required but it didn't make alot of sense. What had just happened? What did it mean?

Tsuki raised an eyebrow, though it went unseen under her hood. Orion the Hunter? She had never expected to meet anyone so famous. She turned her attention tot he woman, Corrina, who seemed to be teasing her. The quick flash of her teeth could be seen in the half light as she grinned. "My name is Tsukiakari Hime. You may call me Tsuki." She said. She decided telling her name was safe, as neither of these two were likely to know who she was. No one outside of her home should know her, she thought."Perhaps we may find shelter in the inn I spotted just past here." She suggested calmly, not seeming to notice the threat of the beasts.

He was taken aback by the voice that left the throat of the girl, Corrina. It indicated to him either an injury to the throat, or perhaps a beast in human guise that couldn't quite hide it's voice. When she gasped out the last word and searched her belongings for a flask to soothe her throat, he assumed it had been some type of injury. Orion was not a healer, something like that was not something he could take care of. He could administer basic first aid, but the basic first aid for denizens of Celesti was still rather advanced for this realm, and it would do nothing to help the woman's throat and voice. He studied her for a few moments, wanting to offer his help, but she didn't seem to really need it and he was unsure how to help her anyway.

Orion's attention was pulled to the cloaked girl when she uttered her name. He couldn't help but smile slightly. For a moment he looked as if he wanted to say something to her, but quickly thought better of it. A name was just a name, she probably had no real connection to the moon, or stars, or the heavens. The realm of Celesti where he came from. Even he had no real connection to the lights of the heavens anymore. At least for now. He would find his way back, eventually. Once he found himself again first. His attention wavered, pulled away from Tsuki to once again stare in the direction of the beasts. Itching to hunt them and to hide from them at the same time. He didn't understand it. He was a hunter, he had never run from a beast before, most fled before him.

"Perhaps I could hunt these beasts?" Uttering the words felt wrong. It felt like a terrible idea and he suddenly found himself imagining those creatures ripping him apart, limb by limb. The images were far to vivid to be pure imagination, a vision of sorts, it had his eyes open wide and his body staggering back, as if to put more distance between him and the beasts, a hand going to his head. A vision, he often got them, but they were usually the details of his victory over a beast, not his demise at their claws, or a warning of danger to come so it could be avoided. Never had it been a vision of his own death before.

It was those visions he had come to rely on too deeply as an Archon, a keeper of justice. He had grown dependent and far more boastful and arrogant than he ever had. It had been that arrogance that led him to his downfall. The exile he now carried out in the realm of earth. Orion closed his eyes, taking in a sharp breath, that hand lowering from his head. He didn't want to think of his failings in Celesti, or of the vision he had just seen. One thing was clear, if he ran out there now, without knowing more about this place or it's creatures, he would die here.

Tsuki glanced at the male, who seemed to be having a vision of sorts. It must have been frightening, considering his reaction. She frowned. "No, hunting these creatures feels wrong somehow. It is not only their vile nature, but something deeper that troubles me. They have an intelligence that no mere beast should possess...almost human." She said. It was the most she had spoken since her arrival, and one would get the impression that she did not speak often, unless it was important. Vaguely, she wondered why Orion had seemed to want to speak to her. Had he recognized her name? As a Celestial, it wouldn't be surprising, given the nature of her own parent. Still, she had thought that his realm was too far away to have heard of any Japanese gods. Not truly gods, she corrected herself, only Ancient spirits that humans mistook for gods.

"Yes, the inn seems good.... and the beasts seem to... avoid the buildings close to the shrine...." She said quietly as she listened to the two. She said nothing about fighting the beasts, many of them looked humanoid so she wasn't so sure it was wise either. She suppressed a sigh and started for the inn. She used a combination of the mental map her hawk had sent her and her staff to make it there as her elf like ears twitched slightly towards each sound. This place.... would she be able to commune with the shrine and find the truth if she'd still been able to 'sing' still? She frowned at the thought and absently her hand reached up to rub her throat absently.

"This place is too strange for my liking, even the position of the stars are strange." The words were spoken softly as he recovered from that vision. It had been a terrible one, and he hoped to never see the like again. He closed his eyes for a moment, nodding slightly as they spoke of reaching the Inn. That was as good a place as any to rest, so long as the beasts could not touch them there. Eyes open and he moved to follow, though quickly his strides had brought him beside Corrina. He couldn't help but notice the way she moved, she moved as if she were sure of where she was going, but also used her staff.

Orion reached to take her arm, hesitating only when she reached up to rub at her own throat, then gently his finger's tapped her lightly. "Please allow me to help guide you, Lady Corrina." His hand lingered there, to await acceptance or refusal. She didn't really seem like she needed the help, but still, he was not one to keep back an offer of help where he thought it might be needed or just wanted even if not truly needed. He glanced at Tsuki, as if to make sure she was coming as well.

Tsuki didn't rush to follow, rather she walked at her own pace. She knew the psychology of beasts, and rule number one was that you never showed fear. To walk calmly with your head held high was a sign that you were dominant, and a beast would be less likely to attack you. She didn't know if that worked with these beasts, but she decided to try anyway. "What do you make of that light, the one that was shining above the altar?" She asked. She wasn't asking anyone specifically, just a general question. The way the light had drawn her there bothered her.

"It's like another world..." She said quietly in response to the remark of the sky. Even the plant life felt strange, somehow not right. The forest elf was use to being able to communicate with the plant life in that unconscious, silent way that elves often did but these would not speak..... these felt dead. She shivered slightly at the thought, the hawk on her shoulder leaning it's head towards her to nuzzle her forehead as if in comfort. It was an attentive familiar who loved it's mistress dearly, that much was clear. She half smiled towards the beast when she felt the tap. She hesitated but took his hand, it was likely clear it was difficult for her to trust others but he seemed sweet enough...

"Thank you.... as to the light... I'm not sure. It feels like it's a big part of the shrine's magic and the beasts seem to fear it, so whatever the light is I hope it stays strong." She responded softly, answering both at once. She held Orion's hands as they were lead in and soon the hawk was flying through the building to gather images for it's mistress. Corinna would be able to use the images to be able to walk in the building on her own eventually with the help of her staff. The elf woman meanwhile simply stood next to the male. She could smell some food behind the bar, some liquids, but no dust. It was as if people had just disappeared one day and then some other force put everything away....

Orion's touch was firm and strong, but gentle and careful, as she allowed him to help guide her towards the building. He noted absently the interactions between the girl and the bird. They were connected and close, such a connection made him long for his stars all the more, once again he found himself looking up at the sky and frowning. She was right, it was like another world, one that the Celestials didn't even know about, most likely. Unless it was a well kept secret.

The light. Orion blinked, that frown still on his lips. He didn't like that light either. It was no star, as far as he could tell, and was sure it had been tugging on him. Pulling him to this place, reaching out and dragging him in. Though it seemed to keep the beasts away from them. For that he should probably like it, but Orion couldn't help but feel trapped in this place. Feeling trapped was not a thing the Great Hunter enjoyed at all. Orion kept his thoughts to himself as they approached the building, and soon they were inside of it.

Eyes darted here and there to get a feel for the interior. It seemed like any other Inn he had ever been to. Inside, Orion didn't pull away from Corrina, he would remain for as long as she needed or wanted his help. A sudden thought struck him, even though he was trying not to think of the strange light. What if it was a star? One that had fallen and gotten lost in this strange place? Orion felt that was unlikely, it didn't feel like a star to him, though everything this place felt off.

"We should be careful, there's no telling what might be lurking in the corners and shadows. Just because most of the beasts seem afraid of the light, doesn't mean all of them will be." Truly Orion didn't think any of those beasts were in this building, instinct told him it was safe, or as safe as a strange place can get. Instinct told him the beasts would remain at the edge of the light's touch.

Several miles away from the small village that held the shrine in the middle of it all was a young elven male who sat upon a large branch of a tree, he had his arms crossed against his chest and both of his eyes shut closed while he had began muttering to himself about different combinations of potions he was able to create with one another. This was his way of keeping himself occupied rather then having himself take the chance of getting those random memories of his past flutter through his head and begin to go through intense pain because of it. The young elven male had traveled around the strange world for what had seemed like forever, all to simply figure out more about himself such as who he was and where he was. So many questions wandered through his mind and so little answers.

Within a moment or two, the young male had hoped off the large branch only to come down to hit the floor with a light thud. Shifting his gaze left and right to see in which direction he should even begin heading in once again, a low sigh had escaped from his lips before he had began to simply follow the same path he had been walking this entire time. Throughout most of the time he had wandered down the path, the only sound that had come from the surrounding area was nothing more then utter silence. The many creatures that had resided in this area had all been quite aware of the male walking through their territory, but with considering how large his cloak had seemed to look they hadn't approached him in thoughts of attacking due to them sensing danger from the male.

After a bit of time passing by Yukito had finally arrived at the entrance to the large ruins of what seemed to be a village. Raising a brow toward the fact that there would even be a village around this area, he had began to make his way down the dirt path with his own eyes darting left and right in hopes that he would be able to find someone that could help him in anyway such as finding directions.

Tsuki looked around the inn suspiciously. She wanted, so badly, to believe the place was safe, but the harsh reality that no place was safe. She had learned that the hard way, and now she was suspicious of any and every place she visited. "The beasts don't seem to want to come near the light...otherwise, they would probably have ransacked this place for the food. Of course, they are not normal beasts..." She frowned as her thoughts turned in circles, chasing themselves.

"Yes, best to be careful.... and no they are not normal. The plants are not normal either.... they... don't speak to me." She answered the two quietly. She couldn't help but squeeze Orion's hand slightly as she felt a little nervous. It had been easy to walk in her forest even when blind as her elven abilities allowed her to speak with the plants which then guided her. She didn't like the feeling of the dead, empty, silent life around her. It was as if everything had gone silent... and around her was only a dead world so being without her hawk companion even for the few moments it searched the inn for her made her feel even more alone then she ever had before. Her hand would only loosen as the hawk returned to land on her shoulder and nuzzle her cheek.

"There....There is no one else in the inn but Astori saw someone from the window. He looks like a blond elf but something feels off." She said quietly, communicating what the hawk had seen. Still after she finished she would cough again slightly and soon end up drinking some of her medications once again. She rubbed her throat a moment as she waited for the soothing medication to take effect. She sighed softly, her eyes closing briefly.

Orion glanced at Tsuki. "Beasts that lurk in the dark stay in the dark, we know what's in the dark. That doesn't mean there aren't beasts that might lurk in the light. We have no way of knowing the nature of our surroundings." The words were spoken softly, and his attention moved to Corrina when she spoke. When she squeezed his hand slightly, he gave her's a reassuring squeeze in response. Things were very strange and unnatural in this place.

The Great Hunter seemed to relax slightly when Corrina confirmed that there was no one else in the Inn aside from themselves. Though when the information was revealed that another was approaching, Orion half wanted to watch for the stranger. Such thoughts were interrupted when Corrina began to cough, Orion kept a hand on her to help keep her steady but not impede her ability to drink whatever was in that flask. "How long will this light last, certainly if it begins to fade the beasts will descend on us savagely?" His whole body twitched. Itching for that bow, itching hunt the beasts that waited to devour them.
