Sooo, I'm wondering if anyone has heard of and/or participated in Disneybound!

If you don't know what it is, Buzzfeed sums it up pretty well:

The idea is to cosplay different Disney characters every Friday using only what you have in your closet:

I'm going to do my first Disneybound tomorrow so pics to come soon!

Please feel free to drop in and chat about Disneybound, plan your next outfit, and share some pics!

I've never heard of it, but it looks super cute! I have a feeling my boyfriend's cousin could totally pull it off too, since she has a million clothes (at least I feel like she does)

I can imagine! It would be practically impossible for me to do with my current wardrobe. I would have to tone it down to once a month, and buy clothes the week before to pull it off xD

It would be more of something to make me go out and buy new clothes.

My sister showed me this the other day. I thought it was really cute and thought they were actually product line sort of things versus just trying to use normal clothes to dress up as them! It's really nifty though!

I have one blue dress which is pretty versatile. You'd be amazed how much you can do with just a few basics.

Alright, off to shower and get ready! Pics coming later today!

This is adorable! I've never heard of the project before, but it certainly sounds like fun. It just takes a creative mind to come up with everyday outfits that are still recognizable as the character, I'd be really impressed if I saw someone do this in real life.

Oh how cute, what a fun concept! Congrats on giving it a go, Zigs! That's a cute outfit, too!

I really like how this enables people to make modern versions of those Disney outfits, too.

Thanks ladies! I really had a lot of fun with it. I encourage you to give it a try! It's a fin way to match different colors or styles than you usually do and maybe get some use of of things you might otherwise not be using in your closet.

Ahh, this is awesome! Stealth cosplay is such a fun idea. I have so few items of clothing right now that I would fail quite hideously, but I should aspire to have a versatile enough wardrobe that I can whip out a Snow White on a whim.

I loved your outfit zigs. :)

Thanks Belly! You'd be surprised how much you can pull off with a simple blue dress for example, I know probably all of my Disneybound are going to use that piece.

Didn't get home till like 2am last night so I'm too tired to participate today but I was planning to be the Matchmaker from Mulan. >.<

I've done some poking around and I think that Briar Rose's forest dress has great color potential for my wardrobe. I have an old purse that looks a bit like a basket, even. Perhaps I can participate in this after all. ;D

Now I just need it to not be 100+ degrees outside.

What are some characters (besides Mulan) that dress primarily in browns?

There are a lot actually. The only one that immediately pops into my mind is Pocahontas but I know there are a lot more. I highly suggest taking a look at the Disney Bound Tumblr here:

Disney Bound

They post tooons of ideas all the time.

Thanks for the link. :) Ooh, Bambi!! Why didn't I think of that? Or any animals, actually.

And whoops, for some reason I was remembering Mulan's "man" outfit to be brown and grey, but it looks like it's more teal/green!

..

Adding because it's inspiring ~

Ah, I didn't think of Bambi either!

Literally anything int eh movies are game. I've even see people do inanimate objects like The Black Pearl.

I did a Disneybound of Merida while visiting Disneyland Paris!

It's not perfect but it was fun. It's hard to see in the photo but I have on some celtic jewelry as well.

I kind of did an accidental Ariel cosplay Sunday. I should have taken a picture but I didn't really count it since it wasn't Friday.

I'd seen random posts on pinterest of DisneyBound...here I always thought it was just one person coming up with a bunch of clothing pairings. This makes it so much cooler. Now I have to tear through my wardrobe and see what I can find.

I'd love to do a belle version, in the white/blue dress of course, not the princess yellow. hmmm...
