So what are your thoughts on OOC talking? How important do you think it is and what does yours ensue? Do you just use it as a way to keep in touch and be friendly, just to talk about the rp, or a little of both? Or do you forgo it entirely?

I've always said I love being friends with my rp partners. I find it more fun, but I also have plenty of partners I don't talk to. I don't think it much affects the rp, though perhaps my work ethic a little.

For all that I condone talking about the rp, I realized today that I almost never do. I actually felt shocked and little insulted when someone said a good rp can't happen without talking it over with your partner. Some of my best stories and plots have come about through unplanned collaboration. It reads just as well as if we planned for ages, but none of the twists were discussed.

How about you guys?
