The world was created by a great being long ago, one which looked upon earth as a beacon of hope and potential. In order to have a greater influence and to be closer to the world that they had brought into existence, the being split itself and its' power into twelve other beings. These beings were each granted a name and power under one of the twelve celestial gems, that would later become known as birthstones for man kind. Each had their own power and special weapon, that went along with their given gem. Some took the form of men, while others women. Their position was to stand as guardians, to guide the world and its people as evolution advanced.

They were seen as gods and goddess' among the world, people paid them respect and loved them. They took high pride in their work, and though their personalities at times clashed, they all did their best to uphold their protection of the world. However, a darkness unforeseen by the great now that it had fractured itself, being soon reared its' head. It sought to claim the power of the twelve for its own, to corrupt them and the world they protected. The twelve stood their ground, protecting the world as they were tasked. Together they were strongest, united their powers were amplified to that of the origional being itself.

Eventually, they thought they had wiped out the darkness, pushing it back into the depths. Things were plesant, the world in harmony. For the twelve however, the more the world evolved, the less people looked to them for guidance. People who had once looked to them as gods and goddesses, now shunned them, and acted like they did not need their wisdom, that they did not exist. The twelve made a decision, to fall into a slumber. Each taking on the form of the very gem that they had been named after, letting the world and people decide for itself. They decided to have faith in the people, to give them a chance to choose their own path.

Little did they know, that the darkness they had thought they got rid of, still lived, and now began to plant its' seeds. It formed strong roots over time in businesses and other influential areas as the world grew, getting stronger over time. Powerful dark people, began to take up powerful positions. Now in the current century, something is awakening the twelve from their slumber. Some earlier than others, but soon all twelve will be awakened. The darkness has a tight grip on the modern world, turning people into cold and untrusting people. Manipulating them like pawns.

Their reach and power is stronger now than ever, and their plans have not changed. They know the twelve are waking, they still want their power. They will stop at nothing to corrupt them, and plunge the world into eternal darkness.

The following contains information on each character's power's and weapon. You have the ability to add on, or shift around the information to make your character your own, as long as you follow the base power idea for each.

(Ex: Ruby has the power of fire, so all powers given to Ruby, must some how tie back in to the base power of fire.)

The Twelve

(All crystals have the ability to "sense" each other, knowing when someone is one of them, as well as if someone of the darkness is around.)

Garnet- Esmme

Garnet is a being, who's power comes from physical conditioning. The most physically strong of the twelve, Garnet has the best endurance, natural speed and conditioning of the twelve. Garnet's weapon, is a pair of iron fists.

Amethyst- blueblackrose

Amethyst's power comes from change. Amethyst's strengths lie in abilities in shapeshifting and being able to physically evolve and adapt to surroundings. Amethyst's weapon is a whip.

Aquamarine- Aoi Kazuya

Aquamarine's power comes from liquid, mostly in the natural state of water. Able to bend and change to the needed situation, Aquamarine's weapon is a series of orbs.

Diamond- Kiyoto

Diamond's power comes from reflection. One with many ways of seeing and capturing the world, Diamond's power lies within the world beyond ours. Weapon of choice is a mirror.

Emerald- Aoi Kazuya

Emerald's strength comes from the natural world. With powers centered around earth and plants. Emerald is the most in tune with nature of the twelve, having a weapon of choice of a spear.

Pearl- Esmme

Pearl is the healer of the twelve, gifted with the ability of ending other's pain. Able to draw it from one source, or give it to another, as well as completely get rid of it. Pearl's weapon is a bow.

Ruby- ISOS Duke

Ruby's power lies within fire. With anger that is said to cause volcano's to erupt, and magma to flow, Ruby's weapon of choice is a pair of sai.

Peridot- Kiyoto

Peridot has the power of creation, of life. Able to give existence to things that were once nothing. One of the more mysterious of the twelve, Peridot's weapon is that of a sword.

Sapphire- Shikabane Hime

Sapphire is a being of the mind, there in lying their strength. With abilities that have often been referred to as psychic, Sapphire's weapon is a shield.

Opal- CrimsonShadow

Opal holds the power of air, able to remain calm and gentle, while still holding the ability to bring about powerful storms. Opal's weapon of choice, is a series of small throwing stars.

Topaz- ISOS Duke

Topaz has abilities in the electrical currents that run through natural life, or that come from storms. Similar to Pearl, Topaz is able to harness the electric currents to manipulate at will, the natural energies of the world. Weapon of choice, is that of an ax.

Turquoise- blueblackrose

Turquoise has the power of projection. Often referred to as "Astral" powers, Turquoise is able to separate their spirit from their natural body. Turquoise's weapon of choice is a dream catcher.

The Darkness

The Leader- Kiyoto

The head of the darkness, and the over seer of the corruption of the world. Their power lies within just that, decay, chaos and corruption. Seeking to doom the world in darkness, and either corrupt the crystals in the process, or destroy them.

Underlings- (Open)

Those who follow the path of darkness, and have various abilities themselves. They have the ability to sense when a crystal is active (when they are using their powers). There can be multiple of these, and can be of various ranks and standings.

Humans

Those who have inhabited the earth, cultivating it and growing upon the land. There can be multiple of these as well, with different jobs and such. Humans have no powers, and are unaware of the crystals or the darkness, unless they are exposed to it.

Diamond

Voices. Why were there voices? Bits and pieces were filtering in, glimpses of information along the many faces of her gem form. Diamond, such a beautiful gem, one that since anchient times, had been used to symbolize power and beauty. But this one was special, this one was not like others of its' kind. This Diamond was a guardian, one of twelve beings created centuries ago when the world first began, by the original. He did not have a name, but each of the twelve had been given a name based on their personalities, on a gem that could be found, created by the natural world itself. Each had a power of their own, one of the original's, that had also helped to give them their name.

Diamond had been known most for her beauty, but also for her strength. For the power of reflection, it fit her quite nicely. They had all slipped into a slumber long ago, left to their dreams and their own. She had been expecting to remain in their safe resting ground, but now.... Where was she? As her conciousness came back to fully her own, she found herself laying upon the floor of a room. A bed off to her side, a dresser to her back. What was this place? This strange world. She slowly pressed a hand to the floor, pushing herself up to sit. At the moment, she only wore a simple white dress. Knee high, that complimented her silver hair and eyes, as it fell around her. She sat there, looking at the odd new items around her. She could slightly place the general idea of what some things were, but others were forgien.

Where was she? Or more importantly...when was she? A voice came from out the door. "I'll be right there honey, let me get my wedding ring" a female voice, one she did not recognize. She stood, her bare feet pressing into the plush carpet. It would not be a good idea to be caught in a home she did not belong in. Glancing around, her eyes caught a mirror over the dresser. Her reflection stared back at her. Some of the others might complain. For just waking up, she looked good. She pushed such trivial thoughts from her mind, moving to the mirror. She did not hesitate, reaching out to press her fingertips against the glass. A ripple went over the surface, like that of water, before she moved through it into a world where only she could reach.

It looked like a world of white, the best way to describe it, was like standing in a world surrounded by ever shifting clouds. She looked back to the way she had come, as a woman entered the room she had been in. She moved to the dresser, seeming to look it over, then frowned. "I could have sworn that I left it here" she said. Diamond did not know what she was talking about, but she did not intend to stick around to find out. Instead, she walked through the cloud like world, various reflective surfaces passing by, giving her a glimpse into the outside world. Large buildings, things that moved around, seeming to be made of metal. So many new sights and sounds, so many people as well.

Bustling around from here to there. Finally, she found what looked like a street. She pressed a hand to the surface, and soon found herself moving out onto the sidewalk. For people around, eyes began staring at her. Shock seen, though she barley noticed, with people having just seen a woman come out of a store front window. The sidewalk felt cold and hard under her feet, her eyes moving over the scene before her. A newspaper stand stood not far down the street, so she made her way over to it, despite the stares coming from people as she passed. Reaching out, she lifted one of the papers from the stack, her eyes ignoring the so called news, scanning for the date. Up in the corner, there it was. The year staring back at her 2015. It had been that long? She stared at the numbers for a moment, before the owner of the newstand snatched the paper away from her.

"Aye...it ain't free news honey. You want it, gotta buy it" he puffed out a bit of smoke from a cigarette in his mouth. She waved a hand, to disperse the smoke, as the man stared her down. She nodded lightly, giving him a light bow. "Forgive me.." her first words since waking, and they were an apology. The man blinked, just hearing her voice like the others of the twelve was different than a normal human's. He seemed to have second thoughts about his anger, nodding. "It's fine miss.....here" he handed her the paper she had been looking at again, "on the house." She smiled, making him all but blush, "thank you, your kindness will not be forgotten." She accepted the paper, giving the man a wave, before continuing on her way. So, this was the year of 2015.

A long time had passed, since they went to sleep. She did not immediately feel any of the others near, were they even here in this city? If not, she would have to do some work. Her first goal either way, should be to find the others, to find her friends. She did not know how long it would take, or even where to start. Looking down at the simple dress, she figured she would only stand out at the moment. She now noticed how much people were looking at her. She sighed slightly, seemed her first task would have to be to blend in. Then find the others, and determined what kind of world this had become.

Pearl

"Just close your eyes. Remember to breathe deeply, and to separate your emotions from theirs. Don't let the darkness overwhelm you, Kel."

Pearl's green eyes flickered down to the young boy before him. The child was curled up on a dirty coat, the humid air clinging to everything. This part of town was ... unsavory. Even in the modern world there were slums in every city. It was the only place where Pearl's features weren't the only thing that made him stand out. His healing abilities were the most useful to those who were homeless, cold, and sick.

Kel. How long had it been since he'd heard that name? Kelebor. That was once his name.

The tall male ran a hand through his silver hair, letting out a muted sigh. Perhaps his use of power was starting to wear on him. A spike of fear entered his mind as Pearl rested a hand on the youth before him. He felt the boy's emotions clearly as a pale glow drifted about him. Luckily his clothing hid most of the markings as they lit up with a soft light.

Pearl pulled his hand away from the boy as he coughed, shuddering before calling for his mother. The woman's worried voice followed, and she offered a tense smile to Pearl as he watched them reunite. She had seen him before. Many people in the "slums" had seen him more times than they'd care to count. He wasn't sure what else to call that part of the city. It was a low-income neighborhood full of lingering homeless folk and always smelled of trash and cigarettes.

Green eyes moved to the next street as Pearl moved on. His heart was racing in fear; he knew it was the lingering effects from the boy he'd healed. That always happened - his empathy was frustrating to deal with.

Pearl slipped his hands into his pockets and started walking. He left the lower end of the city and headed toward the busier streets. If he didn't, his anxiety would become more obvious. How else did one stop their mind from coming to frightening conclusions based on fear? There was no one for him to talk to. The only thing Pearl could do was move.

The sounds and smells of modern businesses entered his awareness. He'd grown ... accustomed to the busyness that was the city streets. Pearl ignored the glances he received. If anything, people thought he was a bit freakish. His markings didn't stand out unless they were struck by light, and his hair color was considered an odd fashion statement. Luckily his loose black pants and white shirt were easily overlooked. The leather coat he wore was another oddity, but not strange enough to draw long stares.

Pearl stepped into one of the less crowded shops that lined the street. Calm your heart, Kel.

Kel. Diamond had called him by his true name once upon a time. It was so long ago. As always, when he thought of the other Guardians his mind began to spiral into curiosity. Were they alive? Were any of the others free, or was he the only one? What if he was the last?

Taking a seat in a corner booth of the cafe, Pearl let his elbows rest on the table. Clasping his hands before him, he huffed out a breath and closed his eyes. The fear would fade as long as he continued to listen to the murmur of the cafe staff and their steady stream of customers. Ignore thoughts of the others. It only results in useless worry.

Pearl's green eyes slowly lifted to watch the cars drive by. Letting his mind drift, the Guardian let his pulse slow at long last. Perhaps one day he'd learn what happened to the others.

Peridot
The sun felt good upon his skin. Opening his bottle of water Peridot, currently going by Ryuko Mitsuyo, reached into his pocket for his keys. He had just come back from a run, something he did every morning around this time. He opened the door, slipping inside. The immediate feeling of something brushing against his leg became apparent. "Animus, Ariel" he smiled, closing the door behind him. Two meows followed his words, ones that each held their own personalities. They were two beautiful creatures in his eyes. Their names were of Latin decent, a language that Peridot had always been fond of. Animus meant Pride, his coat was of a deeper tan color, his eyes a warm golden brown. Ariel meant lion of god or fire-hearth of god, depending on how one took it. She lived up to the firey side of her name, her coat a lighter golden tan, her eyes a strong yellow.

They were his only companions within this house. They were also reinvisions of his old companions, two lions who used to be by his side. He dropped the keys into a bowl on the table by the door. The cats kept in stride with him, as he moved to the kitchen. "Hungry?" he asked, they meowed in responce. He chuckled, making a bowl of food up for both of them. Once they were eating, he moved away into the bedroom. He needed a shower. It felt nice, to get under the hot water. Reaching a hand up to pull the hair thing out of his hair. It fell to the back of his knees. Peridot was known for having the longest hair of any of the guardians. Most would say the most beautiful in nature as well, it was always soft and seemed to never tangle. Along with his slim and lengthy form, handsome features, he was considered perfection to many who knew him back in the day. Even currently, in this time, he was thought to be well endowed. He was said to have a grace about him, a slightly feminine way about him as well.

He did not notice really. Where his hair was concerned though, he did notice. It was stubborn. He had learned to give up trying to cut it long ago. No matter how many times he tried, it grew back to its origional length within mere hours. So he had gotten quite fond of the length and how it flowed, letting it often be as it may. Getting out, he ran a hand through the front of his wet hair with a sigh. He needed to dress, slowly moving out into the bedroom. He did not mind the trail of water that he left in his wake. It would dry. He opened the closet, he chose a dark pair of jeans, and a black shirt that had a hood. He slipped the clothing on, all of it fitting him well, hugging his curves in all the right ways. He did not even try most of the time, and yet most said he looked good in everything. He sighed, he seemed to be one of the twelve who found it harder to blend in flawlessly. His handsome looks and personality made him stand out. He sat on the edge of the bed, pulling on a pair of tan boots.

Ariel hopped up onto the bed, rubbing against his side. He moved a hand to behind her ear, scratching a bit. She began to purr, looking up at him with her eyes. His own moved to her's, no words said or needed in this moment. As with most of his creations, they seemed to have a connection, a bond. They were a part of him, but these two more than others. They were personal, very close to his heart. "I have to go out, you two will be alright?" he smiles. She gave a meow, which caused him to chuckle. They were smarter than the average cat, they could handle themselves if need be. He reached over to the table by the bed, slipping a camera from it. He was a photographer in his spare time. A hobby that he liked to do, because of his love of nature. He had always been fond of its beauty. Perhaps that was one of the reasons he had gotten along with and always had an interest in Emerald.

He stood, heading out of the room, followed by Ariel. Animus sat upon the counter, his keys within his mouth. Peridot chuckled once more, opening his hand to the feline, to which it dropped the keys into. "Thank you" he inclined his head, the two following him then to the door. He paused for a moment, before turning to look back at the window to the side of him. He had felt a slight ripple. To Peridot, changes in the balance between life and death came as a sixth sense to him. Especially when it came to others like him, one of the twelve. He had been feeling them more lately, more of the others were awakening. They were getting closer. He opened the door, stepping out before he locked it.

He did not have anywhere to be, so he would spend the current time with nature and his camera. He walked along, snapping photos of a few scenes as he walked along his usual route towards a cafe he frequented. A quiet place, somewhere he enjoyed to have a nice cup of coffee or tea. He enjoyed reading there or working when he had the opportunity. He made his way along the park's walkway, heading to the other side. Pausing, his eyes moved up to the sky for a moment, taking a deep breath of the fresh air. It really was a beautiful day out. A slight smile teasing upon his lips, he finished his walk to the cafe. It was quiet as usual, the air comfortable and home like in nature. He slipped into his usual position by the window, flipping through the pictures that he had taken. A waitress came over, from which he ordered a hazelnut cappuccino from. Awaiting his coffee, his eyes remained on the camera.

As Peridot entered the cafe, Pearl's eyes locked on him. He'd been watching the other male closely ever since he'd caught sight of him on the street. That green hair ... there was no mistaking it. A sense of relief flooded through him as the young photographer stepped into the cafe and ordered a drink. That relief, however, slowly twisted to dread.

How long has it been? How much has changed?

Change. Not just in the world around them, but within each of their hearts as well. Pearl slowly let his hands press flat against the table before him. Agonizing seconds passed before his curiosity and elation got the better of him.

You've been wondering if the others survived for years. Would you really let this opportunity pass you by? He chastised himself before moving toward Peridot's table.

"May I join you?" Pearl's voice was husky, a little rougher than it once was. Green eyes locked on Peridot, and for a moment his pulse spiked. The green-haired male was just as perfect as he'd always been. It almost felt as though this moment wasn't real; as though Pearl was seeing visions that he'd longed to see for so long.

Slowly looking Peridot over, Pearl's expression remained neutral. "Peridot?" The tall male felt slightly weak at the thought that others might be alive. It was a good sign, wasn't it? It had to be. He'd been feeling something every so often. Perhaps it wasn't just an influx in his powers when he healed. Perhaps it was a sign. The others? Maybe he was sensing the others?

The song birds sung their morning song gleefully as the sun began peaking through the trees of the large estate. The sun hit a large deck, one set of double doors open, the white curtains flowing with the outside breeze. Sitting just barely in the shadow, shadows that were quickly chased away by growing sunlight, there sat a woman. She sat on her knees, her body clad in a fine red silk kimono with a white obi. Her small hands were carefully laid on her lap, the tips of her fingers nearly touching a small ceramic mug before her.

The fabric moved slightly under gentle breaths as the woman lifted her head to meet the heat of the morning sun. Opening her eyes to meet the light, eyes the color of fire seemed to challenge the sun in terms of power. It was going to be a good day, the sun was warm and the breeze agreed to take that warmth with it, to pass it among the rest of the populace. The warmth told her of good times to come, even in these days of chaos. "Soon you will be rescued," she whispered to herself before gathering up her mug and setting it on the stand near the far door.

She returned to the outside doors to close them after stepping onto the deck. The sound of her wooden sandals echoed as she walked across that solid stone-like deck, its white color contrasting greatly to the green grass that started as soon as the deck ended. As she neared the main part of the estate, a elderly voice called from within, "Are you heading out, my dear Lily?"

The look on the woman's face warmed as she turned to see the elderly woman that sat on an old wicker rocking chair, a white blanket she was knitting draped across her lap. Normally fierce eyes warmed instantly as she walked up to the woman, placing a warm hand on her shoulder, planting on kiss on the woman's head. "Yes, Mimi," she replied softly calling the elderly woman by the name she had requested when she first met.

Ruby had awoken in this estate, her stone had been fixed into a lovely necklace, her stone having been the center piece. The estate belonged to a rich elderly couple that did not seem put off by her sudden appearance. They had lost their only daughter when she was still very young so they insisted that the woman live with them and be like a daughter to them. Ruby could feel the desperate want of having a child to pamper and though she was far older than they and appeared the age of an adult, she agreed for they looked to her for help. A few years back, the old man had passed and in her time alone, his now widowed wife spends her time talking to Ruby and knitting items that she insists will be for her grandchildren that the red headed woman will have for her. Of course, this was decided by the woman without Ruby's approval.

"I shall return with beautiful flowers for you today," she whispered, placing her forehead against the woman's temple. "The weather is offering good news and flowers will help thank the sun for this gift." The old woman planted a hand on Ruby's, gripping it tightly as she beamed up at her. "You are always so thoughtful my dear Lily. Be careful and do not stay out too late." Ruby simply nodded before cutting through the living area that the old woman was seated and out the front door.

The estate in which Ruby lived was well known in the city, the couple had also been very involved with the community when they had the energy too. Now, Ruby helps keep their appearance up by making frequent trips into town. Even with the hot sun beaming down, the woman felt right at home in the heat and in the constricting kimono.

She walked down the street, far fewer people passing confused glances at the woman that seemed to be in the wrong era, far less than when she first woke. There were those that did not understand how she could still dress like that after so many years, but mostly the looks came from tourists or people just moving into town.

Her wood sandals continued to clack on the sidewalks as she entered the heart of the downtown area. She would have to visit the fabric store to see if new silks had arrived, she would buy them and request the woman to make her some new garments. She would also retrieve new yarn for her, as the woman seemed to enjoy the idea of 'Lily' giving her grandchildren and Ruby could not break that joy. For now though, she would enjoy her stroll through town as she always did, wondering what the sun had in store for them today.

Taking a deep breath in Opal, or Andrayah, held it for a few seconds before letting it slowly back out. She was currently sitting in the lotus position in the middle of her garden. Her eyes were closed, the backs of her hands resting on her knees and middle fingers were pressed to thumbs. Anyone that knew her would know she was deep into a meditative state.

After each yoga class she taught Opal would head out to the garden to meditate. She needed the calmness she had before the 12 decided to go into their slumber. When she had finally woken up, she could practically smell the darkness that was corrupting her beautiful humans.

Her opal had been in a bracelet that belonged to a hippy couple. When she appeared it had been right in front of them. Thankfully they took it in stride and let her stay with them, teaching her all about the present. They eventually helped her find a small cottage to rent and she started teaching yoga classes in her garden to pay the bills.

Often she would think about the other guardians, trying to figure out a way to find them because she knew she wasn’t alone. They had to have waken up also, she just didn’t know how to find them.

Letting out a sigh Opal opened her eyes and got to her feet. She quickly made her way into the cottage and took a shower. As she picked out her outfit she dried her blue/green hair with a towel. Like a lot of the others her hair matched her stone perfectly. Opal quickly got dressed and did her hair.

Scooping up her keys and wallet she shoved them in her front pocket and left. Her bicycle was in it’s usual spot propped against the cottage. She grabbed it, jumped on and pedaled off.

The trip into town only took about 15 minutes, soon she was coasting through town. A few clothing items she had ordered were suppose to be coming in today so she headed to the little boutique she shopped at first.

Coming up to the store she hopped off her bike and attached it to the bike rack, before jogging in. “Hey Susie it’s Andrayah,” she called out after she saw no one was behind the counter. The shop owner was probably in the back room.

Amethyst

Hammering could still be heard as Amethyst, or Marquis, exited the almost completed habitat for humanity house. He gave the job supervisor a smile. “Good job this morning Quis. Glad to see you helping out again. Will you be coming back to help finish things up this afternoon?” “Thank you Kevin and it’s good to be back. I’m not sure. I have some errands to run, but if I get them done early sure. Talk to you later.” With a light wave the tall man excused himself from the building site. With a sigh he closed his amethyst colored eyes, his mind shifting gears.

He was trying to help to change things, to at least improve a couple human lives, but something so small wasn’t enough. There had to be a way he could do more. As it stood him alone even if he was a guardian he could only do so much. He wouldn’t be able to change the world alone no matter how much he desired to do so. Amethyst moved along the street wondering if he would ever find the others. Were they awake and alive as well? If so where were they? With a snort he turned at the next corner walking towards a few small shops in part of downtown.

Unlike a lot of the others Amethyst stone hadn’t been turned into a piece of jewelry. Instead it had been on display within a geologist’s collection of geodes. When he awoke he had been alone as the geologist was out doing field work somewhere. It took a little while, but Amethyst learned what he needed to know, to survive in the new strange world he had awakened in. Back then he wandered the streets with the homeless before getting involved with organizations like Habitat for Humanity. It was with those volunteers that he found a place at least temporarily. Shaking his head he pushed away those memories.

Past the shops was a much larger and older building, the library. This was one of the places that Amethyst spent his time. Here he could learn everything that happened while he and the others slept. He could research and hopefully come up with solutions. As he passed one of the little boutiques he noticed an older style bicycle sitting outside. It was something strange to notice and for some odd reason it looked familiar. Almost as if he had seen it before or possible seen it in a dream.

As the man entered the library he shrugged the odd event off. It was time to start his research again. This time he would start with the different uses of the precious stones he and the others had taken the form of long ago when they chose to go to sleep. He hoped this might give him a better lead on where to find the others if he chose to look for them.

The eyes that seemed to follow him had been noticed. He had chosen not to give them much thought, not desiring to draw to much attention to the one who seemed to be following him. Were they friend, or foe? Even a friend could be a foe… The thought moved across his mind like a ripple, one that mad a pool of ill feelings form within his stomach a bit. How could he think of such things now? Pushing them off, he continued to gaze at the camera before him. His attention however was drawn to the movement as someone made their way over towards him. Again, he chose not to directly show that he had noticed them, but he was very well aware of their presence. That presence, it felt familiar. One he had not felt for a while, but something else was about it. When the other spoke, his eyes finally lifted from the camera. They met the green one’s, looking to his own.

His own more yellowish green in nature, as was the theme with him. The hair was a little more of a bother. The color was as persistent as the length. Even though the other had changed, the change was not enough to cloud out the image of the man who sparked in Peridot’s mind as the other looked at him. The man before him speaking his name was merely a confirmation of this idea. Silence formed, as he sat there unmoving from his seat. He did not take his eyes off of the one before him either. Pearl. The other was indeed the man he had known, but….that feeling that had stirred within him at the notice of the other’s presence. Pearl was not fully what he used to be. Reaching a hand up, he brushed a loose strand of hair behind an ear, finally breaking the growing silence between them. The hand motioned to the chair across from him, as it left its previous task. He closed his eyes, breaking the connection for a moment that their gazes had created.

It has been awhile” he said simply, before he moved his hands together, intertwining his slender fingers. “Do you think it wise to speak such a name here?” he asked then, honestly simply curious of the answer the other might give. He was aware of the darkness that had grown within the world. It was hard not to be, it was the very thing they had been living to repel back then. Now….now was a different story. He would await the other’s movement to sit, as well as his answer. The waitress returned, sitting the warm mug that held his drink before him. His eyes watching the steam move from the contents, as the foam seemed to begin to fade already. Pearl had been the one watching him, only now making a move to contact him. Why the hesitation? Fear? Guilt? Uncertainty?

The sensations he felt practically pooling off the other made his eyes once more slide over the table to catch the other in a calm and serene hold. Peridot had become a master of keeping his thoughts and feelings under wraps, appearing expressionless on the surface. He needed to be aware of a few things, before he could relax in the slightest. Even around the one before him. It really was quite a time, if they were in need of being so cautious, even around each other. Though the other had chosen to engage him this way, hesitance and uncertainty within the other’s gaze indeed. So for now, he would play it calm and easy, see where the other’s mind and heart was within this current time.

--------

A few whistles, quite a few stares. This world’s beings were quite different from those she had once known. Many of those around her were more forward, a few phrases mixed in. A frown lingered on her lips, as she glanced at herself within a window. She was clothed in a simple white dress, which contained a heart like neckline, with straps that were thin in nature. A silver belt around her waist that ended the top of the dress and began the bottom that flowed out into a caressing skirt that moved effortlessly with her. Was this odd for such a time? She still wore no shoes, and the color of the dress seemed to compliment her lightly silver hair and piercing silver eyes. Though she wore no actual makeup, her natural features were all but flawless. As was the beauty of the one given the name of Diamond.

Perhaps such a beauty was more of a hindrance at the moment. She was never one to simply rely on her looks, and at the moment, they seemed to be only drawing in unneeded attention. Blending in was proving more difficult than she had imagined. She looked around, scanning for a place that perhaps had clothing better suited to this time. She noted one not far away, a bike parked before it. Excellent, perhaps she could change things around. She moved to the street, glancing to make sure no vehicles were approaching, before crossing it. Her hand moved to the handle of the door, before she paused. A ripple passing through her senses. She frowned, tilting her head to the side slightly. Something felt familiar here. She took caution, as she opened the door.

It was quiet inside, and that was good at least. The noise outside, as well as the people, were getting on her nerves. Entering, she slipped out of sight of the door almost immediately, silent as she moved along a row of racks that stood nearby. Inside now, the feeling she had gotten when she had approached the shop became stronger. She peeked around one of the racks, towards the counter. A woman stood there, one who seemed to blend in well enough to the time. However, the oddly colored hair reminded her of another female she had met long ago. Though, in this time, she could not automatically assume. Outrageous things seemed to have taken a place of desire among the people here. She allowed her body to move a bit closer, she did not notice the rack nearest to her tilting a bit.

Catching the movement, she quickly caught hold of it, as well as a shirt that had slipped from a hanger, silencing it before any large noise could be made. A breath left her in relief. The last thing she needed, was to cause a scene. Drifting from her position, she moved around another rack of clothing, keeping the other female within her sights. She needed a better look and approach, though not one that would draw direct attention to her. She noticed a case of jewelry by the counter, her eyes falling on a diamond pair of earrings. Staring into the surface, she focused a bit. The diamonds shimmered a little, as if light was passing over them. There was no real movement of light however, but it was a subtle hint. She watched to see how the other would react, should she notice the event.

Had it really been ten years since she'd awakened already? Emerald turned her face away from the sun that she had angled in the direction of, bathing in the warmth of the sunlight. She'd gotten used to things now, but...it was surreal knowing that so many years had passed and knowing that she might not see any of the other guardians for a while yet. Well...almost none. She cast a glance to the magazine rack at the front of the flower shop and shook her head. She hadn't really tried to get into contact with him yet to verify, but Emerald was almost one hundred percent sure that one of the models that had suddenly exploded into popularity a few years back was Aquamarine. She wondered how that child was faring.

"JingFei! I've finished with the bouquets that need to be delivered, can you go deliver them?"

JingFei. It was strange having the humans call her as such, but she supposed it fit her. It was a name of Chinese origins meaning "still fragrance" perhaps it was a poke at the fact that the scent of flowers was always clinging to her no matter where she was.

"Yes sir, I'll be back shortly." Emerald pulled the hair-tie that kept her wavy hair back out and let her tresses fall loosely around her face as she pulled off the apron she wore while working. Then she gathered up the bouquets, carefully setting them all into a basket with which to carry them as she made her rounds. As she passed by the front display, she took a daisy from the water and tucked it behind her ear.

Ten years ago she had awakened to find herself in some sort of vault. It had been terrifying being surrounded by so much metal and no natural life. She had managed to hide and bide her time till someone opened it and get out, amazingly she had never gotten caught. But she'd always been wary of visiting banks and official buildings since then.

The flower pattern on her arm shifted then, the lavender that had been beautifully blooming beginning to wilt, and Emerald took a calming breath, pulling the list she had tucked in with the bouquets out to check where she would be delivering flowers. Most of these were in a part of town she'd never been in. She hadn't really left this neighborhood much since she made a place for herself here. They were small businesses that had requested the bouquets mostly. For decoration purposes probably. Emerald smiled to herself. She didn't mean to brag, but the flowers from their shop were always the most beautiful, though she had a feeling it was because the flowers were trying to impress her.

"Silly things...they're all so lovely already." she murmured. Checking for oncoming cars, Emerald quickly crossed the street and checked the papers again. So she turned this corner...and walked that way...and then the cafe should be right...Emerald lifted her eyes and smiled when she saw the cafe's name right where she thought it would be. She felt an odd...pull towards the cafe and stopped where she was, across the street from it and frowned down at her arms when the lavender gave way to flowering syringa. Memory. Her grip on the basket tightened and she looked around warily, it would be bad if someone saw the flowers on her arm suddenly changing like that. Shaking her head she carefully made her way across the street and entered the cafe. She had a job to do...she couldn't stay out too long.

Refusing the urge to look around, Emerald quickly went up to the one of the waitresses and smiled as happily as she could muster, while a prickling sensation swept over her skin. "Hi, I've got a delivery from Mint Flower-shop for this location?"

"Thank you for your hard work." Aquamarine bowed and gave a shy smile to the professionals all milling about, cleaning up after the last photo-shoot. There was a smattering of responses before Aquamarine found himself being swept off to the changing rooms to have what little make-up they'd applied taken off and to be allowed to change back into his civilian clothes. This life was...hectic. He found he was always on his feet trying to do his best to keep up with what was expected of him in this industry.

Eight years since he'd awakened. Five years since he'd been scouted. Aquamarine had just smiled and said he'd had good genes when asked about his looks, he couldn't really say anything about how he wasn't human, that would be...a bad situation. He hadn't really thought of himself to be all that good-looking when compared to Diamond and Peridot in the past. He'd preferred to have never been scouted like this in the first place...but perhaps if any of the other guardians had awakened...they might be able to find him easier like this.

The smile that had been on his lips slid off, and his now usual look of silent contemplation fitted itself to his features. A few minutes after he'd finished changing, his personal assistant entered the room to tell him that he'd have the rest of the day off, he'd gotten his work done in a really timely manner. With a nod Aquamarine moved to leave the area, but his PA stopped him with a hand to his arm. "Here, don't forget these in public. You have a pretty distinctive look, but your eyes will definitely give you away."

Aquamarine took the offered sunglasses and studied them before sliding them on and nodding in thanks before leaving at last.

It was refreshing being out of the blinding lights of the studio, a passing wind lifted strands of his hair and Aquamarine looked around, wondering what he could do. He had yet to remember how to get home, much to his agency's frustration, so he'd have to stick around in the city until someone came looking for him.

As he walked, he fiddled with the sunglasses on his face. He wondered if they didn't just make him stand out even more? The PA wasn't wrong about his eyes though...while at a quick glance they were just a silvery color, upon closer inspection they had an aquamarine sheen to them, staying true to his gemstone. Having had enough of the pushing crowds and worrying about what his PA would scold him about if he accidentally dropped the sunglasses, Aquamarine ducked into the library. The sudden silence was actually quite deafening compared to the noisy streets behind the doors he had entered from.

Turquoise

Two days had passed since the woman with turquoise and gold hair had last slept. While she rested in an arm chair in the waiting area of the clinic another woman gave her a gentle pat on the shoulder. “You look exhausted dear. Here this will help to settle your mind.” Sabin gave Turquoise, or Ruya as the humans called her, a smile while handing her a hot cup of tea. Turquoise returned the woman’s smile with one of her own, taking the cup of hot tea. “I’m fine and thank you.” No more words were exchanged as the older woman was called away.

Turquoise stared at the cup she held in her lap. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she closed her eyes. The past two days had been hard on her more mental and spiritually than physically. For the past 56 hours she had been helping humans in various ways. Mostly through counseling, but also through using her abilities to allow some of her patients be able to speak with their lost loved ones, a couple times even allowing herself to become a medium so the spirit can actually interact within the real world. It was all exhausting and overwhelming. All the emotions, everything, it was taking a toll. Just as the woman started to nod off she forced herself to wake up. “None of that Ru. You still have a meeting to go to before you can go home and rest,” she quietly scolded herself. A few more moments passed before she took a sip of the tea. Tea was always good and it would help, but not much. Finishing off the tea Turquoise sat the cup on the table beside her chair. Another sigh left her lips as she forced her tired body to move.

What time was it she wondered as she exited the clinic? Glancing down at her watch it was a little after ten. She would have just enough time to get to where she was to meet Casey. He was a human she had been working with since she arrived here in this city. He was a kind human who held a big heart. Like her he too helped those in need with dealing with grief, death, and loss among other things. At first Turquoise thought of riding her bicycle to the park near downtown, but remembered she had left it back at where her own small office was, closer to the outskirts of town. A small frown appeared on her lips momentarily before she slung her bag over her shoulder and started to walk.

While she walked the few blocks to the park the yellowish green eyed woman let her mind wander. It seemed so strange. It had been seven years since she awoke in the home of a Native American shaman. The woman had given her such a gentle smile when she appeared from the turquoise pendant she wore. Hehewuti was elderly and near death when she took Turquoise in to teach her the ways of the tribe. She had foreseen Turquoise appearing before her within a dream and took it to be a sign that this woman with hair the color of the sacred stone she wear would be born from would take her place once she had moved on to the next life until the new shaman was appointed by the great spirit.

Yes that all seemed like a life time ago. Hehewuti passed on into the next world a few months after she had awaken, leaving her to be taught by the other members of the tribe about the new strange world she found herself in. They taught her what she needed to know to survive once she left to enter the world outside of the reservation. Just as Hehewuti told her a spirit came to her in a dream telling her that she needed to travel to a certain city. Turquoise wasn’t sure why she had to go to that place, but she didn’t question the message she received, something told her that she would find answers there in due time.

All of that had been over five years ago and here she was still alone, not knowing where the other guardians were. She knew they were somewhere within the world, alive, as she could feel their spirits when she tried to search the astral plane to find them. Her attempts never came up with anything clear about where she would find her friends. One day they would all be reunited, that was something she was sure of. Her mind continued to wander, going over the events of more recent years before shifting to the other guardians.

Making the turn into the park she nearly bumped right into Casey. He was getting ready to go search for the woman as she was late. Turquoise quickly apologized, giving him an embarrassed smile. “Don’t worry about it. I thought maybe you had overworked yourself again and fallen ill. It’s good to see you haven’t, but you’re getting close.” The taller male lightly scolded Turquoise. “Sorry, sorry. Things have just been really busy the past few days. After this I’m going straight home to rest, promise.” Her smile was back in place, knowing full well that if something else came up she wouldn’t go straight home instead she would continue to work. Casey simple shook his head. “Let’s go talk over there so you can at least conserve your energy for your trip home.” Taking the turquoise and gold haired woman’s hand he led her to a bench.

The silence within the library was inviting to Amethyst as he headed towards the reference section. By now he had memorized the locations of the books he would need for his research. What would have taken anyone else fifteen minutes or longer to due he did in less than ten. If the few others within the library hadn’t witnessed it some might have sworn that the five to eight stacks of books that currently sat on the back corner table just appeared there.

In his mind there was little time to waste. The blackish gray haired male sat at the table, diving into his research. As he skimmed and read through various books he scribbled notes within notebook that appeared to almost be falling apart. It was one of several the man almost always kept with him. Amethyst grumbled a bit as scratched out a few things he had just written. Just as he opened another book he froze. Something was giving off a familiar presence. The book slipped from his hand, making a thud as it hit the table before him.

His amethyst colored eyes glanced up, looking over the piles of books scattered about the table. They searched the room for where the familiar presence was coming from. Everyone he seen where the same as when he had entered the library. So maybe it was coming from near the entrance which was out of his view. The man hesitated as he shifted in his seat. Should he go take a look? What if it wasn’t one of the other guardians? What if it was something else? He couldn’t get innocent humans involved if it was something else. His mind shifted through many questions and answers before he decided what to do.

Quietly he gathered the notebooks, placing them back into his bag. He got up to move to where he would be hidden and still be able to see the entrance. If it was an enemy then he would make his escape through the back of the library. He would not involve innocence if he had to fight.

After a few moments the shop keeper came back out and smiled at Opal. “Hello Andrayah, I was just finishing packing up your clothes. Give me about ten minutes and I’ll have them ready for you.” With that she turned around and slipped back into the back room.

Once Susie was gone again she stepped closer to the counter. Opal was busy looking at some necklaces on a stand when she felt an oddly familiar presence enter the shop. Frowning she turned her head slightly and looked around the store. Not seeing anyone she shook her head and turned back. She could have swore she sensed another guardian enter. But maybe it was just wishful thinking on her part.

Opal was still looking at the necklaces when a woman stepped up to the case of jewelry next to the counter. Out of the corner of her eye she watched her closely for she looked oddly familiar. The woman was absolutely stunning, reminding her of someone and she still felt that familiar feeling.

Then it happened, a set of diamond earrings shimmered almost as if light was passing over them, but there was no light. A small gasp escaped Opal and her hand raised to her neck. “Diamond?” She whispered and took a few steps towards the guardian.

Smiling she came closer and looked in Diamond’s eyes. “It really is you, isn’t it?” A warm swirl of wind came from nowhere and wrapped around Diamond like a hug. Opal took in her friends appearance and smiled. “You just woke up didn’t you?” They would have to get her some clothes and shoes and then something to eat possibly.

The other looked over towards her, saying the name she had thought the other would use. So, she did know who she was then? That could only mean that Diamond’s thoughts were confirmed in that this was in fact the woman she had once known. The other moved closer to her, before a wind moved around her. She smiled herself, warm in nature to the other. “Indeed, it is good to see you once again Opal” she replied. The other looked at her, noting her appearance in her next comment. Glancing down a herself again, Diamond gently brushed a bit of hair behind her ear. “Yes…continuing to stand out for much longer would not be to optimal…it has already gained unwanted attention” she thought back a bit to the earlier reactions.

She then moved forward, taking the other’s hands in her own. “How have you been?” she asks, switching gears. Her natural personality of caring for others coming into play. She was more concerned overall with the other, than with herself. “Has this world been kind to you? You are not harmed are you?” she could not bear it if the other had gotten hurt. She had wondered already about the states of the other. What if they had been harmed…what if they had never woken from their slumber in the first place? The thought of possibly being alone in this land had been foreboding. Now that she knew at least one other was here and alright, she was feeling a lot lighter. She took in more of the other’s appearance herself. She seemed to be fitting in well enough with this time.

She had spoken to the person Diamond guessed owned this shop, like they knew each other. So she must be familiar with this land. That was good, Diamond was glad to know the others would possibly be able to assimilate like Opal had. She felt more relaxed, even though her natural being caused her to also remain poised and elegant. She didn’t think about it though. She hugged the other lightly, “I have missed you…all of you. You must tell me about your time here and this world…as well as if you have seen the others.” For now though she stepped back, she knew it would be better for them to wait and speak in private, rather than out in the open.

Especially in front of humans or potential darkness. So for now, she was content with merely having found a familiar face. They could speak soon enough, once a bit of cover work was finished.

Everyone seemed to be buried in their own things so Aquamarine figured it would be alright to remove the sunglasses. No one would make too much of a fuss in this space. Or so he hoped anyway. Sliding the frames from his face, he hung the sunglasses from the pocket of his jacket and looked around with clear eyes. He'd never really visited the library much before...

He took a few steps further into the space before pausing and looking around, his curiosity piqued. There was a very familiar presence in the air, though he could not place it. Once more his gaze swept throughout the main body of the building that he could see. He walked in further, looking around as he advanced, trying to pinpoint where the feeling was coming from, he let his feet carry him along, peering into the different aisles as he went.

He probably should have taken into consideration whether or not the feeling was a good or bad one. For all he knew, he could be walking straight into and enemy trap. He tensed at that thought and his step faltered. Perhaps it would be better if he just left for now...it was about time for him to be picked up anyway wasn't it?

The subtle moment of sizing one another up continued. Pearl tried not to worry himself about the uneasy feeling that drifted through him. He hadn't needed confirmation, but there was recognition in the pale green eyes that looked up at him. Yes, this was Peridot. He wouldn't have believed the boy if he'd denied it.

Silence began to stretch, and for a moment the uneasy emotion in Pearl spiked to something worse. This wasn't a good idea. How could he have thought that approaching an old ally was a good idea? Then it broke. Peridot closed his eyes, and Pearl took the seat he'd been offered.

Calm yourself, Aiden. Aiden. It was a new name, one that the twelve wouldn't recognize. It was human-given, and it was a name that Pearl had come to associate himself with. Who else was he, if not part of this world?

Pearl smiled slightly. "Indeed so. It's been far too long. I was beginning to wonder if I were the last." He paused when the waitress set down a mug before Peridot. He offered a serene expression and gentle denial of any refreshments before the woman left them. When his gaze returned to his fellow guardian, Pearl felt ... uncertain. His emotional pattern wasn't steady, as it once was. In the past few years it had been fluctuating. There was a time in life when emotion was the only way Pearl functioned. After Diamond helped him, he'd gained control. It seemed that very thing he'd treasured was corroding; it was slipping from his grasp.

Shifting uncomfortably, Pearl looked away from Peridot. He knew the action wasn't the correct one ... not while he was under such scrutiny. "No one recognizes the names. Not anymore." Or ... most didn't. The humans would assume they were speaking of colors or stones. "Perhaps it isn't wise to discuss such things further, but mere mention of them will not draw their attention." Or, it shouldn't. A slight smile followed, and Pearl leaned back in his chair to get comfortable.

There was another silence. This one was tentative, as though Pearl wasn't sure what to ask or say. Relief flickered over his expression before fading into caution. "I don't even know where to start." His gaze met the other's once again. "There's so much to say, so much to learn." Another pause. "Another place would suit such conversations."

Why did it feel like he was standing on crumbling ground? Something felt off about this conversation. His curiosity, however, brought Pearl to continue. "A camera," he said quietly, looking at the tool. "Is that how you spend your time in the current-" He'd been about to say "age," but that was another one of those key words to avoid. It made you sound strange. "Is that how you spend your time?"

Pearl continued to observe Peridot. He just ... looked. The other man's emotions were distant, but ... perhaps Pearl was out of practice reading the other guardians. It was that, or Peridot was doing an excellent job of keeping most of it from him.

The silver-haired male settled into curiosity and hope, forcing his other emotions aside. Forget the anxiety. He'd been waiting to see another guardian for years.

Watching the entrance he noticed the man who stood there. Was he the one that the familiar presence was coming from? Silently he watched as the other man removed his sunglasses. Once Amethyst seen those brilliant eyes he knew that the man standing there had to be Aquamarine. At least he was pretty sure that it was Aquamarine. There was still a chance he was wrong so he stayed where he was hidden.

The other man moved further into the library. It seemed he was searching for something or someone. So apparently he could sense it as well. As the other drew closer to him he placed a book on the floor of the aisle, open to the section on the precious stone known as Amethyst. He hope that this would draw the other’s attention and bring him closer.

While he waited, he let his form shift using his chameleon effect power to blend into his surroundings. There was no point in taking chances in case his guess of how the man was happened to be wrong. For all this time he had wondered if any of the others were awake or alive and now he had his answer. At least one of the others had survived and was awake. Did that mean the others were as well? So many new questions ran through Amethyst's mind. In many ways it was a relief to know that he wasn't alone in this new world. Quietly he watched and waited for Aquamarine to come into the aisle.

He kept his eyes on the other. He did seem to be on edge, the feelings that he was getting from the other seemed to flux a bit as well. He smiled, before speaking to him once more. He had thought that he was the last? Peridot shook his head, "there are others....I am sure of it, we are not the only ones." He could feel it, they were not alone, they couldn't be...right? He took a breath, pushing the thought from his mind as Pearl continued. The other said that no one recognized the names, but that it still might not be wise to discuss such things much further to draw attention.

Silence followed again, Pearl seeming to once more be unsure of their situation. He had noticed the way that he had shifted before the silence, Peridot was making him uncomfortable? He knew at times he could be a bit intimidating and overpowering to others, but was he really that scary? He watched him, as he finally seemed relieved for a moment before unsure once more. Pearl seemed to be a bundle of emotions, swirling around and shifting. He was correct in saying that there was so much to say and learn, it had been so long, since they had seen one another. Not only that, but about the world as well. People, places and more were constantly changing and shifting.

There was always more to learn and understand. He said that perhaps another place would be better for such a conversation however. Peridot nodded, understanding that reasoning. Here would draw to much attention. At the same time, perhaps being one on one would allow the other to relax a bit more? Or it might have the opposite effect and he might seize up more. The conversation shifted to his camera then, the other asking if that was how he spent his time. A slight near slip came, but the other caught himself. So, he was still adjusting even now. That was understandable. At times, even he was still adjusting. He nodded, looking down at the camera in front of him.

"My free time yes....it is calming and allows a deeper look at the world around me" he said. He had always had a love for the natural world and its' beauty. He looked up at the other then, before a hand moved across the table. He placed his hand over the other's, the touch gentle and warm. It did not hurt or instill fear, it was more calming in nature. His eyes on the other's. "You have nothing to fear from me" he says, "as much as things have changed...and the darkness has grown, things have remained constant. The bond that all of us share is still there....time apart has tested it...but it does not have to break it or us." He released his hand, before standing. He had not even touched the drink, slipping the money for it out of his pocket.

"We can head back to my home if you like. Animus and Ariel would be happy to see you" he offered a smile of his own now, warm and kind in nature. "We can talk there.....and share some tea" he nods.

Laughing Opal shook her head. “Even dressed as a nun you would gain unwanted attention my friend.” Diamond had always been the most beautiful of the group, in appearance and inside. She had such a grace and nobility about her. People couldn't help but stare and fall in love with her kindness. Diamond was just like her stone, amazing.

When her hands were grasped and she was asked how she had been, if the world had been kind to her, she smiled. “I’ve been wonderful I promise. A charming couple took me in and taught me what I needed to know after I woke up right in front of them.” With a laugh she shrugged. “You should have seen their faces.” They had since moved on from the area but Opal still kept in contact with them.

Opal hugged Diamond back and nodded. They had much to discuss. After years of hoping to find another guardian it finally happened. They needed to discuss and come up with a plan for finding the others. Opal now had more hope than ever. If Diamond had found here then they could find the others. But they needed to be careful, darkness was everywhere. It was easier to find the dark than the light nowadays. “We can go back to my cottage and speak there. Would you like to buy clothing here? Or borrow some of mine?”

At that moment Susie came out from the back room, holding her packages. “All done Andrayah, need anything..oh hello. Welcome to Ivory’s Story.” Susie smiled at Diamond and placed the packages on the counter. “Can I help you with anything?”

Opal made the comment about her gaining unwanted attention, which made a light tinge of pink appear upon the mirror gem's cheeks. She chuckled lightly, as she then listened to the other speak about her time here in the world. She said it had been wonderful, she had met a good couple after waking before them. A slight nervous feeling came to her at the mention of this, only because of her protective nature for the others. She was glad that she was alright, that the world had been kind to her. This brought a smile to her face, happy to see the other in light spirits. The two hugged, and Opal offered her to come back with her. Along with that, she made a comment of clothing once more.

Another female cut into their conversation however, exiting from the back of the shop. She turned her head to look at the other, before she adressed her. "Hello...."she greeted the other woman , her eyes scanning over her a bit. Opal had seemed familiar with this woman, so she obviously could not be bad. A bonus of being the mirror gem, Diamond had a knack for seeing the 'truth' in people, what they believed they could hide from others. She did not get any ill feeling from this woman, she seemed in fact to be quite a good person. When asked if she could help, Diamond shook her head. "It is kind of you to ask, but I am fine thank you. I am just here with Andrayah" she said, picking up on the name the other had chosen without needing a hint.

She knew that in this world, their true identities would be more of a mystery. She had yet to choose a name for herself as well. What would she call herself in this time and age? She pondered this for a moment, as she offered the other woman a kind smile. "You have a lovely store" she said, her eyes moving around the scene for a moment. It was indeed quaint and cozy. She could see the appeal in it indeed. Turning her eyes back to Opal, her gaze gave the hint that she would accompany the other woman. It would be easier, and she did not wish to put the other out. She had no money and Diamond was not the type to simply be a burden on others.

She prided herself on being a woman who could stand on her own two feet. However, she was not to proud in order to ignore help when she needed it. There were plenty of people who had done such, and in turn had fallen. There was no shame in needing other's, especially help from those who cared for you and you for them. She cared for the others, and would do all she could in order to help them. She knew they would do the same, even if not all of them saw eye to eye or knew what was fully within each other's hearts all the time. They were stronger as a team, then as enemies.

Bazel

The woman ran within the darkness, the streets around her empty. She cried out for help, but it was like no one could hear her. Not a soul came to her assistance. She continued to run, turning a sharp corner and nearly slipping. She finally stopped, pressing her back against the stone wall of a building. Her heart racing, her breath in gasps. She peeked out around the corner, but saw nothing down the street she had come from. Where was he? He had been following her right? He had been coming for her. She slowly began to relax a bit, until a sound reached her ears. A step, followed by another, then another. The sound of boots clicking upon the street.

A whistling soon heard as well, almost casual in nature. It was coming from the street, but no, behind her. She turned, looking. No one there. It sounded like it was coming from all around her at once. She turned, running once more. She ran down the street, not sure where she was heading, but she didn't care. She had to get away. The one who was following her within the darkness was in no hury. He was amused by the hunt. The woman thinking she could escape. That she had a chance of getting away, it was a laugh for him. Once he had set his sights on something, escape was impossible. His shadow fell across the sidewalk, step by step he advanced along the street.

Hands slipped inside the pockets of a long fur trimmed coat that he wore. His boots the only sound to the night air, but he could hear it all the same. The sound of her running, her breath and heart. It brought a smile to his lips. Humans were such fragile creatures, but it was enjoyable to make them squirm. His steps paused just outside of an alley. He could tell, she was there, hiding. He chuckled, turning to look into the enclosed space. Foolish, she was trapped now. Seemed their game was about to come to an end, the fun was almost done. He stepped inside, walking along. He paused as the whimpering reached his ears. She was indeed there. She was speaking, seemingly asking why. He chuckled lightly. Reaching a hand up to pull his glasses off, his eyes closed.

"Simple.....because it's fun" his eyes open, the color shifting. They had been red moments before, but now, their color a piercing animalistic yellow. They seemed to glow within the darkness. His arms slightly wrapping around his body for a moment, as ribbons of black and purple chaotic energy formed, encircling him. The veins within his hands becoming more promanent for a moment, as his nails lengthened and sharpened. Their coloring becoming black. He smiled, his teeth lengthening as well, sharpening to that of an animal's fangs. A pair of white ears unfurled from under his hair, as several long and fluffy white tails sprouted from behind him. Slight cracking could be heard, like that of bone shifting within him, but he seemed to be in no pain at all. Once the animalistic transformation was finished, he lifted a hand, his eyes upon the new claws he had to play with.

"It gets so hard to pretend to be one of you....to hide myself to blend in with such....primal beings" his eyes moved to her, her form cowering in the shadows. "It almost gets to hard at times to quell the hunger...it has been so long since I have hunted" he chuckled as her eyes widened. "Oh don't look so scared, I'm not going to eat you....no....what I hunger for will take a bit more hunting to obtain" he turned, "but my pets....now they need a snack." He snapped, which was soon followed by the sound of growling. At the entrance to the alley, two massive forms appeared. They were animal in nature, but they seemed to have once been dogs. Their fur gone now however, their skin red in nature, more like muscle then skin anymore. Their eyes black, drool slipping from their chops as they snarled.

Their claws sharper and longer, as they slowly approached. Their forms looking a bit decayed in nature, giving them what humans might call a bit of a zombie appearance. The woman shrank back as the man stepped over to the entrance to the alley. "It was fun playing...but our game is done" he says. The dogs bolt forward, the last sound within the night air was that of a piercing scream before the silence. As the sun began to rise, no trace would be left within the alley. The man had regained his human appearance, slipping into a tall building, which served as a cover for him within the world. He smiled, pressing the button to the elevator. Seemed he would be needing another new assistant.

Eliana would not be to happy with him about that. It would be the fifth one in the past week he had...dealt with. No one ever asked questions, no one ever knew. He could handle it, but still. The doors opened to the penthouse office. He stepped out, walking over to the windows. Brushing aside the blinds for a moment, he looked out over the scene. This world, it was his playground. Soon enough, he would have what he wanted. Soon enough, it would all go black.
