Haha. Its an acquired thing, I guess. But different people do avis differently, and it works for them. I just go with themes and lots of items, usually. ;P

Plain are okay. :) I do plain ones from time to time, too. I think it really depends on the look you're going for. Some look great being simple, and others need more to them to make them seem complete.

I'm really picky with my avis, and it usually takes awhile before I really feel like an avi is finished.

Yeah, I do know. Like you want to fix certain parts, but adding more just throws it off even worse.
