Okay we all have them... Things that really bug you about peoples art... Like folks who think that fan art entails tracing a screen shot from inuyasha. Or people who use real pictures with little to no editing as backrounds for their anime drawings.

So come on down and post your your own pet peeves...

What's mine you ask? Well I hate it when people do art of underage characters in adult situations... It's wrong plain and simple...

Oh so you want someone to draw your 12 year old OC in revealing lingerie? That's child porn pervo!

Also, I thought I'd make it clear that I don't want to see posts like this...

Quote:
I totally hate people who draw (insert fandom here)! I hate (Insert fandom) and any art from (insert fandom) is instantly bad!
Some fan art is fabulous and people have a right to draw it all they want. It may be a little annoying to go onto deviant art and see 4000 pictures of of KH fan art... But hey, people have every right to do that kind of art without being labled as bad artists just because you don't like that spacific fandom...

The thing that bugs me the most is anatomy that is obviously out of proportion. If you want an example of what I'm talking about, check out some of Rob Liefeld's stuff.

Yeah, looking at Liefeld's stuff is like watching a really bad movie. You know it's bad but you just can't look away.

My biggest pet peeve when it comes to art is definitely proportion, with objects and human figures. Alright, with anything. It annoys me so much, especially if I know that it is wrong but I do not know how to correct it...

The second biggest was something I found out when I did Drawing I in college; for the first few times I was not able to finish my drawings. It grated at me every time I thought about how I was not able to finish that one picture. Fortunately I was able to get faster, but I think I sacrificed proportion at the same time XP

Oh, well, practice, practice...

My biggest pet peeve, nothing really~ Except Christopher Hart or something's art. His art, I really really dislike it because of the style;;; it's only considered "Anime/Manga" because he calls it that, and the eyes are like how "Anime/Manga" eyes are like ... LOL.

Feel free to not read the next paragraph, 8D just my two cent on art of underage children doing whatever, whatever. I just thought I should to share my opinion on this :3
----------------------------
Not to get anyone's nerves, but I'm okay with seeing OCs drawn in a suggestive manner(Sitting suggestively, etc) since it isn't real.

However, I do agree drawing art of underage children in adult situation is wrong. Though as long as it doesn't show any "private" body parts or any real children doing adultery things, then it's okay, since it's just art. Not real : P Just my two cent.

"It's my style."
*beats head against stone wall*

Liefeld is an artistic lol-cow of preposterous proportions.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone doesn't know the difference between copying and referencing. I won't show examples because I don't want to pick on anyone, but I see this happening with a lot of people, even those big-name artists on DA.
A reference is NOT looking at one picture and copying the pose, facial expression, and maybe even the clothing. Referencing is when someone, say, wants to draw a wolf (or something, just an example) character but has no clue how, so they look up many pictures of wolves and study the anatomy/patterns/poses or whathaveyou, and draw from that knowledge. That is a reference.
Copying is drawing the red dress in this picture on your character. Calling it a reference makes me rage. You didn't reference the dress, you outright copied it. (not to mention, zambi would kill you xD)

People get so torn up if you call them out on it too. Like 'NO WAI THIS IS A REFERENCE SEE THE HAIR IS DIFFERENT.' Please don't do this. Not all copying is bad either. That's how lots of people learn. But if you're going to copy and put it up for the public to see, at least have a the balls to admit you copied. I'm not a fan of displaying copied work, but I won't crucify you for it until you tell me it's a 'reference.' ;)

I think I really have to agree with you on your pet peeve, Jaded Geisha. D= One of my friends at school does just that (even puts them on line paper! Yuck! XP) Her DA is full of them, and it really get son my nerves. She's even "borrowed" poutfits from other animes/games to fit on her OC's. >_> Can anyone say "Lack of creativity"?

But, I think one of my biggest, would have to be and artist showing off their works, which has really poor quality anatomy, and not even taking any critism on it when it really needs it to improve. They're too stuck up to face the facts about it, and get advice on to improving it. V_V

My biggest pet peeve is totally impossible poses....people who draw someone in what looks like a plausable pose until you notice small details that totally make the whole thing realistic.

My pet peeve is when someone steals your work, and edits it a little bit and then claims it as their own. That happened to me so many times on Gaia. :x
