The world was once focused on the ban of guns and the fight on terrorism no one had any idea what was coming next. Suddenly the world was being taken over by Vampires or so said Fox news. They were always there for a laugh but even on CNN and the BBC Vampires were the headliners. The most amazing thing was that everything that everyone had ever known about them was wrong kinda like the movie ‘how to tame your dragon’. The human race failed. Leon that was his name, no one forgot it because he was plastered all over. He was a fixture on the front page for the past year and a half. Leon had sat down with the UN and told them about his kinds existence. He only told them the basics that day and every single country was slammed with a big fat how do you do. Over the next week questions began to pile and a legitimate ‘interview with a vampire’ was scheduled. Leon arrived in New York at CNN and was interviewed with the man himself the President. Not only was it an amazing sight to watch two kinds come together but also two great leaders. Leon answered all but personal and one very big question. The question being how they came into existence, he had shook his head and said next question along with ones like how old he was and how they reproduced. He did bash the myths of daylight, crosses, running water, garlic and a lot of other nonsense as he called it. They were simply not true and aside from their eating habits they were very human. Leon told the world that anyone could be a vampire, anyone you know could very well be one and that discriminating against the goths and people who happened to live near a butcher shop would not be tolerated. Vampires do not harm humans was a big point he said over and over but he also started that most were 5 times as strong as a world champion weight lifter. As King he had told his kind that if they wanted to tell the humans what they were they could but it was not mandatory they currently had the right to keep there identity a secret. That one small sentence he said that day had created a huge legal hell and a bunch of he said she said.

First point the government tried to make was a law saying that all vampires must state they were vampires. They went over just about as well as a concrete slab. Leon waltzed right into the office and said that in no way could the human race in any part of the world create laws to bind them. As King he had say over his kind and that they followed the human law for peace. If the humans wanted to makes law for other humans after vampire so be it but he would not tolerate laws forced onto his kind by them. After that more uproar, who made one man King of an entire race? How did they run there laws was it just on his whims? Leon answered none of them and refused to comment on the subject of law. He was after all right the human kind could never hold a law to any vampire in fact how they could enforce the human laws to them was a real head scratcher but it was never answered.

Now days everyone was terrified that everyone else was one. Like he said it wasn’t easy telling who was human and who wasn’t. They weren’t pale they didn’t have pointy teeth its was hard to tell. Several schools started popping up across the country to try and mesh the kinds. That way the young could learn to exist with each other much better then the adults. Even though Leon was by all means ancient if the children of his kind were going to attend these schools he had to 'test' the schools.

So he enrolled....

Vampires. That seemed to be the only thing anyone could talk about now. Vampires, vampires, vampires!! It was exhausting. She couldn't even sit in math class without the word vampire, bloodsucker, or demon being brought up. Alexia stopped watching TV because ever dang channel had that stupid vampire on it. The so called 'King'. He didn't seem all that special, he was just another vampire with a "better-than-you" complex. He really annoyed her. Life was better when vampires were only in book or movies, something that Alexia wasn't too into to begin with. She wasn't a huge fan of the "falling in love with a vampire, getting turned, and having his child that almost kills her" kind of thing. Call her crazy! Alexia chose to ignore the whole thing and even her friends learned not to talk about it around her, it was good gossip but she was just sick of it, like mentioned before. However, she was only able to avoid the situation for a moment or two.

Alexia heard a very unpleasing announcement at school one morning. Apparently the school was shutting down so the state could try meshing the two races, the students had no other choice. It was said this new school was both vampire and human friendly so their two species can become one big happy family! Exciting right? Um, no.

Alexia begged her parents to move the family to a different country without vampires but they thought it would be 'good for her' and other crap like that. Her parents bought her supplies and prepared her for this new school and when the day arrived they set her off to experience the school but as she turned and waved to her parents who were standing in the door way, waving as they cuddled against each other, even she could tell they were worried. No backing down now.

The girl arrived at the school only shortly after leaving her home, it was only a twenty minute walk. Her appearance today consisted of long strawberry blonde hair that was braided to the left side of her face, resting on her shoulders. Her clothes were simple. Blue jean shorts that had the fake wholes in them, under the shorts where black leggings that reached a few inches past her knees. The torso was a blue tank but was hidden by the gray hoodie with thin black stripes on it. To finish off her look was silver, sparkly BOB's (the most comfortable shoes ever) and a panda backpack, yes really.

A few moments she stood there, wondering if her friends were inside but there was only one way to find out. She entered the school.

Leon sat in his office on the third floor of the compound, looking over notes and paper work. Sitting there he half guessed himself on making themselves public. Sneering at the paper in his hand he tossed it and it floated down to the desk. He couldn't take it back now. A light rapping sound come from his door and he hollered to the man to open it. Gideon came into the door a tall well built male who looked like he came out of a book with green eyes of emeralds. The male looked sheepish yet had an air of confidence as he addressed the king, "School starts today" those green eyes of his drifted from Leon to the desk. Leon whipped his head in the direction of the old english clock and growled. Damn it he thought and jumped up not saying a word he bolted passed a Gideon who wished he could be invisible. Being king was one of the worse jobs he could possibly think of. How the hell did they expect him to run everything and take classes at this school. By the time he was half way down to the basement he was fuming, the random male moved out of his way Like leon was hot lava. Jumping into his car he tossed it into gear not caring if he blew the thing up and peeled out of the garage.

Arriving at the school he parked the car and adjusted his leather jacket. No one was in the yard, he was late... fantastic he thought sarcastically. Taking huge ground coving strides he didn't care if people thought it looked funning, he was a vampire and there was not changing that fact. Entering the school the halls were empty and all was pretty quiet as classes were in session. Of course he hadn't been here to get his class schedule or anything the day before so he was basically lost. Going to the office he smiled when he saw Rachel. She on the other hand looked at him was shocked and then at the clock and by the time he was in the room she yelled at him. "Seriously Leon, your late for the first day" Sighing he leaned against the counter she was behind and the long haired blonde kept shouting... people started to look. "I am here and that is what counts give me the schedule and the map" she snarled and he was glad she was mated to Dante, the female had just as much of a fuse as her male did. She slapped a few papers on the counter along with a lock for a locker and she gave him that number on a different piece of paper. "Have fun and welcome to high school" she said it with a cheeky smile and a flick of the hair.

He huffed out some air and rolled his sapphire blue eyes, grabbing the papers he bolted out of the office. The guy could not move with out presence and pride he oozed testosterone at 6'4'' he was a big guy to even second guess. Stopping in the middle of the hall he glanced at the papers and looked up at the walls. It took him all of two seconds to figure out where his class was. He didn't knock or pause bring a king for centuries had made him more confidant then even the more lethal males of his kind. Swinging open the door and stepping into his homeroom the teacher dropped her white board marker. Leon heard her heart rate which was already elevated rise to rabbit speed. She stood started to sweat and she smoothed out her dress in an awkward fashion. Fighting to hold in a sigh Leons eyes looked at the bored, Ms. Shaper. She wasn't married, 46 years old one kid, dank martinis like a fish at night and she was terrified of him and the other males in class. He could tell all of that by how she smelled and how she looked, he nodded to her showing her respect and he walked over to the front of the room and gracefully took a seat next to Killian. The young male looked up at him and giggled and Leon snarled at his direction and nodded toward the bored, Killian snapped his attention to Ms Shaper who shakily and nervously commenced on the rules.

Alexia had long already entered the school, found her class, and took a seat in the back with her friends. Well a few of them, the rest were separated in different classes. With her in this class was Julie and Cam. Julie was a bright redhead with dark brown eyes, fair skinned as well. Cam had blond curly hair and dark blue eyes. His cheeks showed faint freckle, skin slightly darker than Julie's. Those two were her best friends, just about the only two she'd tell anything to.

Alexia and her friends were hardly paying attention to Ms. Shaper's rules. Heard them all before except for an occasional rules that had to do with the vampires and humans and their interactions. Alexia and her friends only stopped their conversation for a moment when the whole room got quiet. Turning around, Alexia's hazel eyes faced him as he walked in, late at that but he was acting as if he owned the place. What in the world was going on? He just simply walked in and joined the class without getting scolded or anything, that is what she was worried about.

"I don't think so..." Alexia stated and was about to stand up but Cam grabbed her arm and pulled her back down in her seat. "What was that for?" Cam let go of her and whispered. "Don't start any trouble, it is the first day..." Alexia rolled her eyes and said. "Back at our normal human school, every time I was late I got detention. How come he just gets to walk in here and act like it is nothing? I am saying something." " Wait Alex!" "Um, Ms. Shaper. I don't mean to be rude but I know this whole vampire and human school thing is to create unity and equality...so why is it Mr...um...whatever his name is..." She pretended not to know his name. "Why is it when he shows up late he is not scolded or anything? Usually when a student is late they get some sort of punishment..." She said politely but sarcastically at the same time.

Right now she knew she had the eyes of the mixed students on her, some were on her side and some were just giving her dirty looks, while her friends looked at her in worry because they knew how stubborn she was and how angry she could get. Alexia didn't quite care for this new decision on the school and she was going to make that clear.

(Kind of an iffy post, kept getting distracted. I hope it is okay...)

Leon heard the girl and he had heard her heart beat spike when she stood and complained. Ms Shaper again froze and turned white when the question was asked. She gulped and Leon couldn't help but sneer as her heart beat returned to rabbit speed. The women stumbled over her words unsure of how to answer. Killian rose to his feet before anyone else could make a sound. "I'll go to detention for him" the boy was solid in his reply and was very sure of doing it. Part of Leon was proud of him for making the effort the other was a bit annoyed. Ms Shapely didn't know what to do and then it was as if she got a back bone. Although Leon knew other wise as her heart only got faster.

"That's not necessary the first day of class we all expect everyone to be late. After Thursday I will send people who are late to the office" she gave a meek smile and turned her attention to the bored.

Leon tipped his head back as he leaned in his chair to look up at the curious girl. She obviously didn't care for the merger. Lifting his foot here plopped one up on his desk and returned his attention to the bored. the rules he had wrote were good ones and the rules the humans had wrote were a little out there but still adequate. He knew what happened in the school ground would transfer to the outside world in the future. Thus why he was so determined to be there, it wasn't like they were going to teach him anything.

The class dragged on at a very slow rate and it took every once of his being not to get on his cell and start barking orders. When the bell rang Leon cringed... that bell was way to loud, it would need to be turned down. He sat in his position as the class started to bleed out of the seating and into the halls for there next class.

Alexia frowned and narrowed her eyes at the one who offered to go to detention for him. "Really?" She said outloud, giving the male a look saying that he was stupid. So he would actually take detention for the so called king. Some king, if he was really a king then why was he here in school? He must not be very bright. Alexia though Ms. Shaper had no spine but it was clear it was the king's litte "yes-boy". Before Alexia could protest any further against this kids foolish statement the old woman actually stood up and took control, saying basically she would let it slide. Alexia thought maybe she was afraid of the vampires, poor woman.

Alexia sat back down and basically pouted as class went on. Alexia took a few notes here and there but mostly her mind wandered. She was thinking about this school and came to the conclusion of something. If they are allowing vampire students would they allow vampire teachers? Oh how she hoped she wasn't stuck in a class with a vampire for a teacher. Alexia then considered skipping when lunch came, forgetting her last few classes but she thought maybe she should stick around and see if anything interesting happens, besides, she wasn't done letting her voice be heard.

As the bell rang the strawberry blonde jumped up from her seat and made her way to this Leon character before he had a chance to leave, her friends behind her of course. Well, actually the two were trying their best to stop her but failed. "Listen, just because you claim to be some king doesn't mean you can receive special treatment. You go to school with students you will be treated like a student. I won't be one of those humans who cower and obey. You took away my life and I won't forgive you or your kind." Her hazel eyes locked on his for a moment and her mouth opened to say something but was soon covered by the hand of Julie. "Sorry about her, she is just...uh...she didn't get a good night of sleep and..."

Alexia had pulled away and took the hands of her friend. "Don't make excuses for me and do not pretend to fear them, it only boosts their ego, let's go." Alexia left with Julie and Cam remained glaring at him for a moment longer and just left as well.

Leon assumed the fireball would come down to yell at him. It was pretty ballsy for a women her age. She had left in such a fury that he was not able to respond to her. He let her leave in her cloud of gloom and turned to Kill, "What's your next class?" The kid looked at his papers and told him it was english which Leon didn't have he had German which he was fluent in. Sitting back up in his chair he stood and went to say a few words to Ms Shaper on her presentation, he tried to be encouraging as possible. Being nice to them was hard but necessary. Leaving he pin pointed the girl and found himself right next to her, "You left before I could answer you, you can not attack a person with out giving them time to reply basic laws of commutation" He looked behind him and saw Micah walking through the halls. Looking back down at the girl he answered her "I never expected special treatment, I will answer the questions given to me and follow the rules of the grounds. I am here to make sure that this place is fair to my kind as it is your kind that is running most of this program. For as put off as you are to our kind we have members who are as put off about yours it is a two way street." Leon then turned to her friend who had shamelessly tried to make her stop.

"It is ok for her to speak her mind the school can not function unless we have feedback from students." He then addressed all of then as he rocked back on his heels ready to walk away. "Humans can not pretend to fear us too simply boost our ego, it is in your nature to fear what can kill you" He let his eye linger on the girl and paused to let her snap at him. Leading by example as he always had for his race it felt funny doing it for a human who was only going to last 100 years but it was necessary.

His attention glanced over toward Micah who was smiling to his new students. The male loved to teach and he was the best besides Leon who had flat out refused to teach Vampire history. There were more human then vampire staff but there were several. He knew that he had to implant males to teaches just so that his kind was comfortable and who better to teach those lessons then vampires themselves. Micah who was a very trusted counselor to Leon and was an honorary member of his Helm was teaching history. Felix was teaching culinary and Konstantin was teaching self defense mainly to humans from vampires. That class had been a requirement which seemed futile to Leon but he guessed it would be good for the humans to learn that there wasn't much they could do to them, unless they used a bomb. They were not immortal they were simply stronger faster and long lived. He turned back to the girl after a few seconds of thinking.

Alexia had hurried out of the room with her two friends and was soon at her locker, receiving a scolding from Julie. "We are just as unhappy about this as you Alex, but do you really have to start trouble on the first day?" She whined slightly and leaned against the locker that was next to Alexia's. Alexia continued to rummage through the metal locker, throwing in books and then pulling out her schedule, ignoring her friend's nagging, she was use to it. "You know Alex, that is Leon. The so called king or whatever, can't he like punish you and stuff?" Cam stated calmly, usually being laid back as he is known to be. "Pfffft! He can't tell me what to do. If he is a student here then he has no authority over me here, just the teachers." Alexia smiled to herself, she planned on making his time him a rough one and if any of his other vamp buddies bothered her, she would do the same.

Just as Alexia looked down at her schedule to check out her next class she was interrupted by, guess who, Leon. Cam move inbetween them, almost protectively but Alexia gently pushed him aside, she was interested in what he had to say. As he spoke she remained calm, or so she seemed, he blood was boiling but it wasn't as if he was being rude he just had this whole "high and mighty" attitude about him and she hated it, she wanted to punch his pretty little face right now but she knew that would be a bad idea, not yet.

As he finished speaking Alexia smiled and then said. "Get out of my sight." She said it so sweetly but it was almost like a threat, a scary kind of sweet. "You don't understand how I feel and you never will so just go!" This time her voice had bit more of a harshness to it. "Now if you excuse me I have to get to..." She paused and took a glance at her schedule. "Ah! Self Defense. Self Defense?!" She stated the last part with worry in her voice. "Hah....well. That makes me feel safe....having to go to a school where I have to take self defense so I can defend myself against my classmates. Nice job." She said sarcastically to Leon. "Hey! I have that too!" spoke a all too familiar voice to Alexia.

Putting an arm around her shoulder was a guy name Damien, an energetic ball of annoying but was a close friend of her'sas well. In fact he was the last piece of their little group. Julie, Cam, and Damien where the people she always hung out with and they were always together, well, except for this morning. Damien was in a different homeroom than them, must be a mistake. "Maybe we can be partner's. I can be the scary mugger who tries to steal your purse! Oooo~" He t eased at Alexia who just shoved him off of her. Damien was tall, almost as tall as Leon. He had chestnut brown hair and bright blue eyes. His skin was about the same as Cam's, slightly darker than the two girls, giving them color. Both the girls had lighter looking skin.

Damien noticed Leon soon after his teasing and he got serious for a moment and then looked down at Alexia and soon understood. She must have been running her mouth again. "Well, we have to go or we'll be late, right Mr. King of the Bloodsuckers." He grinned, seeming like he was having good fun but he was mocking him in a way.
